I don't why I expected this place to have more than 3 stars. I am glad a lot of people also have my same sentiments. I ordered delivery here for lunch and its safe to say I may have made a mistake. I ordered soft scrambled with cheese, crispy well done bacon(I always ask for it well done crispy) home-fries, side of sausage and toast. The only good thing on this platter was the sausage, I have no complaints there. The soft scrambled with cheese was way to bland and if it weren't for the cheese adding the only flavor it would have tasted like water. The bacon strips(there was like five altogether) two were very crispy which is fine, the other 3 might have well been skinned of the pig and slapped on my plate with how fatty it was and uncooked. I also must have ordered a cookie instead of home-fries because those things were harder and crispier than the few bacon slices. Oh and they forgot the easiest part, the toast. But that is probably a good thing because they probably would have found a way to mess that up to. The meal seemed very rushed, I don't know who they were racing against. This place was pretty good before the coronavirus. Since then it has gone into a downward spiral. The food is not as good, fresh or tasty. Prices have risen, but the quality has not. I keep on coming back due to it's proximity to the Belt. Bf insists on coming here before we drive to Flloyd Bennett Field. Service is very hit or miss. Some servers are wonderful while others can never seem to keep up with their tables. The food also varies by visit, sometimes it's spot on and others it's a hot mess. All I can say to future patrons is good luck, hope you get the good servers and your food comes in ok. p.s.: seating tips, in the summer time sitting on the left hand section of the diner as you come in, if you sat by the windows you would be comfortable, but if you sat next to the wall on the right the a/c would freeze you and your food in minutes. read more

Where to begin? - Drinks that took forever to come out - Unappealing bread and cole slaw - Other patrons getting food even though they came after us - Used dishes left on the table for long periods of time - Food that was lukewarm and mediocre ( The chicken fajita wrap was terrible but I liked the meatloaf and spinach.) - Lack of check-in from staff - Staff members - The manager offered old fruit with whipped cream, sprinkles and flambe to compensate. Very good burgers, but really slow service - I came there for lunch on a Friday, and that's probably a bad time to come there for lunch if you're working. I only had a half hour for lunch and it appeared that many of the customers were not under similar time constraints, So the service was too slow,so I had to rush through my burger when I finally got it. There weren't a lot of diners left in this area. This one is very special . This diner is awesome. Every Friday night you can come here to catch the firework from Coney Island. The waitress is super nice and courteous. Great customer service will always be appreciated . They kept the place very clean. There are a lot of parking spaces around the diner. ** This based upon a single order Ordered the Country Style Wrap w/ home fries I have to say, I'm very displeased with all NYC breakfast so far. Been here over a year now and no one does breakfast the correct way. Their wraps are always tasteless as well as their platters. I'm from Long Island and they do breakfast well out there, especially their breakfast sandwiches, we're known for it. From Bagel places to small delis, no one compares to breakfast out there. NYC, especially south Brooklyn, you need to take a few trips to Long Island and learn how to put some taste in your food. Here's a few tips: - Cheese; buy quality cheese, and be generous with it. The cheese should be melted into the sandwich; melt it while cooking either on the meat or eggs. I've found cold dry cheese on my NYC sandwiches. These people should not be allow to cook food. - Meat; if you're not buying Boar's Head, or equal, then just close up shop, go home. Don't call yourself a restauranteur. - Eggs; I don't know how you cook your eggs, but google a recipe for god's sake. I've never had such tasteless eggs. Eggs should be cooked with butter, not oil. Optional, but it adds flavor and fluffs them: add a little milk or cream to the eggs then batter. Eggs should be cooked with a little salt and pepper. This is standard cooking procedure. It's not going to change the outcome of the sandwich considerably like someone adding salt and pepper at the end. What this does is enhanced the flavor of the eggs. No one will complain that there is salt and pepper in their eggs. They won't notice, they'll just notice it tasting better. What I'm saying is you don't need to be afraid of salt and pepper. Not sure what's up with NYC and not cooking salt and pepper into food, but it's not just eggs. - When someone says salt, pepper, ketchup, or salt, pepper, [condiment], that means put the salt, pepper and preferred condiment on the damn sandwich! Just as the ingredients are finished cooking and prepared on the wrap or bagel, while still hot, sprinkle a little salt and pepper then add the condiment to the hot food and close the wrap or bagel or bun. This creates a nice melt to it. Put it on the cheese layer - this can really create that melty mess that will have people begging for more. - Wrap, bagel, or bun - you should always ask if they want the bagel or bun toasted. This should be automatic if someone is ordering in person. REGARDLESS of the toasting situation, the wrap or bagel or bun should be warm! Never give a cool hard bagel with hot food inside. You would have just ruined the entire sandwich you diligently put together with my instructions above. It should go without saying that you should always use fresh bagels from that morning. If you don't make them yourself, make sure to get them from a reputable NEARBY bakery/bagel deli. Your home fries should also include some butter, salt and pepper. Also, they're supposed to be "put together." Your home fries could have used another minute or two. They came broken up, warm, and bland. I would have been better off saving myself the calories from the potato's and just eating ketchup because that's the only thing that gave your home fries any taste. I don't mean to be mean, but you need to know the truth that the food is below mediocre. If this is what you serve, what's going to make me want to order again? What's going to make me want to try that next great meal! If I didn't get a great first meal. I'm a repeat customer for good food. Unfortunately for NYC customers, restaurants and delis can survive because there's so many people in this city that their bound to get a piece of the 8 million people plus passerby's just by existing. My boyfriend and I have been here a few times, mostly for dinner. Parkview Diner has a a lot of space for parking, at most 15-20 cars, maybe more. The diner is very spacious and has a trendy look to it. The staff/waiters/waitresses here are pretty friendly. Their dinner specials are quite worth the bucks. If you order an entree it comes with a soup, salad, and a bread basket. Their chicken noodle soup is quite hearty and just right, not oversalted. Last night, my boyfriend has their tossed salad which had tomatoes, cucumber, onions, lettuce, and carrot and he got french dressing with it. I ordered a casear salad - rather plain, but I liked it. For entree, my boyfriend decided to try their chicken franchaise. It looked pretty appealing, but he didn't seem to like it too much. I decided to try out their chicken scampi over rice. It wasn't as good as I last had it at Vegas Diner. The rice was too buttery and oily, disgusting. I guess their entrees just didn't do justice this time. It is my understanding that the diner was remodeled a few your ago but I must say that it was very well done. The place was warm and inviting. The staff was just as friendly and the service they provided was fairly good. The food was not bad at all. I had a good, perfectly cooked Belgian waffle with two scrambled eggs. The only think that I disliked was the fact thy my eggs were placed on top of my waffle. I would have preferred my eggs on another plate or at least on the side. The syrup that was provided was in prepackaged cups but was still good. Over all the meal was average for a diner but it was still satisfying. My sausage and home fries were burnt. How do you mess up sausage and home fries?? Thank the Lord I told them to cook the bacon soft because that too would have been destroyed lol. Now i try calling to place an order for delivery and who ever answers the phone keeps people waiting, as of now im still waiting its been 14 mins and still counting, really that busy on a saturday after noon, and to piss you off more they dont take online orders this so bad i am so mad about this. I always rather place an order online than call but in this case you have to call. Now someone finally got back to me after 17 minutes and all he can say is delivery one sec, another 20 mins waiting, this is sad. This diner is definitely not what it once was.. I have been going to Parkview since i was a kid, and it seriously needs a revamp. The plates are old, scratched up and dirty. My silverware had food sticking to it, and it took about 15 minutes just to get the coffee i ordered because the server kept forgetting it. The owner was my biggest problem.
