My wife and I dined at Parrand's last night with our friens and their two children. This is our second visit, and both times have been outstanding. I would call it upscale Tex-mex because the restaurant just looks that way inside, and the servers are very professionally dressed and provide professional service. The prices also match the upscale moniker, but typical of what you find in Ashburn. The meals at the table consisted of lomo saltado, fajitas, tacos, chimichanga, and quesadillas. All of the food was delicious, but especially the fajitas. They were very well seasoned, and they happily obliged dietary restrictions. We had a great time and will definitely return. read more

ASHBURN, VA 07/08/18 DINNER -The service was a bit of a disappointment, as we had to constantly flag down a waiter/waitress and ask for things; e.g., water, utensils , drink refills and a plate for our toddler, salsa, etc. -The food was ridiculously salty. We got a fajita platter and it was a sodium explosion. -I asked for a couple more pieces of bread for our gambas al ajillo, and was flat out told "no." -The complimentary chips and salsa were meh. -No loyalty rewards program. +They offer outdoors patio seating. +The cocktails were pretty good. Overall, the lackluster customer service and food quality is not really worth a meal's price tag. Had brunch here for the first time and it was so nice to dine outside on their patio. Their food is just as good pre-covid. They were very attentive and were quick to refill drinks or ask if we wanted more chips & salsa. Their brunch menu has many good choices and I found the benedict with chorizo to be very tasty. First time at the restaurant. The chips and salsa they bring to the table are very good. Try not to eat to many or you'll spoil your appetite. There were four of us. Our guests both had Frajitas. One steak and one chicken. Both of the orders had a great aroma. There was plenty of food on their plates. They enjoyed their Frajitas and said they would order them again, My partner had the Masitas De Cerdo. The pork morsels were very tender and flavorful. The dish was smothered in sauteed onions and served with a Spanish style sauce. The sauce was unremarkable. There was a choice of three sides. She had rice, french fries and a side salad. All were okay. I had the chicken burrito. I have to say that the dish had plenty of food, looked good but had a bland taste. Nothing stood out in flavor. The service was attentive. It was a beautiful day to have brunch outside on their very nice patio. The service was quick and they didn't forget about the patrons outside the main dining room as sometimes happens in other restaurants. The meal began with complimentary chips and salads. My main dish was the Mexican benedictos. The poached eggs were dressed in a smoky and spicy red sauce that was so good. The chorizo was diced, not ground, and I liked the better quality product. I was here last week for a reunion, initially for 6 people but only 4 could make it out that day. We had a nice table outdoors with plenty of distance from other tables. I felt pretty safe there. Among the 4 of us, we shared the fresh guacamole and La Tablita combo (feeds 3-4 people) - with a request to replace shrimp with more steak. Mm-mm!! Guac was indeed so fresh, it was like butter! I wish I had bigger stomach so I can eat this all day! Tablita at first didnt look too big, but we had so much leftovers! It has bbq ribs, steak, and chicken with fajita veggies. The steak was on point!! I was too full to try the ribs and chicken... But I'm sure they were good too. For my drink, I had the sangrita large, and it lasted me throught the whole meal. This restaurant won Best of Loudoun this year so we thought we'd try it. I will start with the negative: the queso. The queso is yellow and was barely warm. They reheated it, but I wouldn't order it again. Also, you don't get shredded cheese with your fajitas. The rest is positive and explains the "Best of" award. The salsa was the BEST I've had in a restaurant; the BEST!!!!!!!! I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas. (If you don't like peel and eat shrimp, don't order the shrimp.) Those of us who order fajitas enjoy the fact they are delivered to your table sizzling. The delivery to our table was beyond sizzling. Even the butter for the shrimp was boiling. For a Tex-mex place Pareando's is pretty good. I'm one of those girls who is slightly more biased to traditional Mexican vs Tex-mex, but I still enjoyed my meal. Stopped by here for dinner a Saturday evening and it was def busy but thankfully we were seated within 20 min. Pros: service was super speedy and the food was delicious. And to me there were no cons. Our waiter was Omar and he was great, checked in on us during the night and took away the plates at our small table in a timely manner. For food my husband and I shared a steak/chicken fajita and the tacos reynosa. I really like the tacos, would have loved more pineapple on it but it was tasty. Between the two entrees the fajitas were better but both mains were delicious. Side note the complimentary salsa that came with the chips are some of the best I've ever had, ever. Some places serve you clearly canned salsa, but the salsa here you can tell is made fresh with nice chunks of tomatoes. Both and husband and I agreed that the salsa here is delicious. And the margarita was also pretty good, sometimes you can tell that it was entirely margarita mix. Here is seems like half and half. Not what it used to be. We used to come here fairly regularly, but fell off during the pandemic. We got takeout this evening and it was bad. Im not really one to leave negative reviews because I don't like to hurt businesses but it was that bad. I live right next to the place and have been coming here every so often for 3 years now and they're really on the decline. Everything from their food to their service is sub-par, when it used to be pretty decent (nothing close to Uncle Julios though) Anyways, my latest visit on 07/27/21 was about as bad as it gets. We ordered a margarita, 2 chicken enchiladas, a chicken chimichanga. To start, there wasn't any chicken, just squash in all the food. But whatever, can't win them all right? Wrong! They bring out the smallest margarita I've ever seen that tasted awful. It was laughable really. Not only was the food/drink not good but I had to get up and grab my own plates, napkins, no chips were brought after asking politely, no check back on food or drinks to see if things came out ok. I mean, the absolute worst service you could get. Meanwhile the waiters who have done literally nothing are just carrying on having a grand ole time laughing it up right in front of everyone. I couldn't believe they had the balls to do that while not paying any attention to they're tables. The only person that did their job was the busser who cleared everything from the table and was the one who got everything we needed every time I had to get up. The fact that their prices are higher than almost every other Mexican restaurant ($15 for a 4 oz margarita that has rail in it while other places charge half that and $20 for chicken enchiladas with no chicken lol) and that their service is so bad, I doubt they'll be in business for much longer. I definitely will never set foot in that place again and I hope the server (who didn't deserve to be tipped out but did) gave it to the busser cause he's the only reason we left one. read more

I like this restaurant. My son, Archibald, and I went there recently. He had the fajitas which were great. I had Pacifico beer on tap which was great. Even tho we are closer to the Atlantico, I had Pacifico. KRAZY! The people are friendly and the place is clean only one complaint from Tony....Archibald said "can I get a side of cheese and guacamole ?" The waiter DID NOT SAY THERE WOULD BE AN UPCHARGE. cmon man! Tell me before you charge me....the side of cheddar and guacamole cost as much as my Pacifico. That's it. Our new fave for Mexican in NoVA ... we had gone to a couple of other places on our visit back to VIrginia prior to this visit so it wasn't just the fact we had gone so long without in Hawaii lol. It's a large new restaurant at Goose Creek Plaza in Ashburn, and not crowded at all for lunch when we went. The server was super nice and they are quite accommodating - he said the hubby could order his favorite tacos from dinner the night before. I ordered a seafood enchilada - I would have loved a tad bit more shrimp and scallops but it was accompanied by an amazing cream sauce that put the minor complaint to shame. read more

I've lived in loudoun for 17 years. I've seen this place change like five times, my first job was at the Walgreens back in 2011.. point being, if you're going to treat smaller tables with no respect than don't be a waiter (multiple waiters ignored us, attitude issues, I asked for a simple refill on water and me and my boyfriend got eye rolled) was one for years. It was not even busy today and not a single time did they check on us. The only time they checked on us in 75 mins was to ask if I wanted another margarita. still spent over $100 and left a tip, but hey, what do I know? Never going back, and I grew up here. Disappointed. Came for Sunday brunch and was ushered to a booth. Service initially was ok but went downhill from there. I ordered fajitas and the beef was brought out first without the tortilla. We went to Parrando's yesterday for the first time during their Happy Hour. The atmosphere was great and the place was busy so our hopes were high. My boyfriend ordered the grilled steak enchiladas and I ordered the Lomo Saltado. When the food was being delivered the enchiladas looked great however my meal was clearing the wrong order but still a steak. The bartender caught it and sent it back, which is great. However, 5 minutes later my 'meal' is delivered again and the steak was just sliced up (which is fine) and placed into a bowl with raw peppers and onions and a really sad attempt of a Lomo Saltado. It looked as though all the ingredients were just thrown together and cooked for 2 minutes. It was the worst meal I've had in a very long time. There was no attempt at correcting any of the sub-par food. We won't be back. read more

Please, read the whole review since the 1 star is not for everything. Last night my wife and I, plus three other couples, had dinner at Parrando's Ashburn, VA). We love Parrando's and have been there numerous times. As always, we had margaritas...which are excellent. The problem was when the check came in. Being there many times, we know that the large margaritas are $18 (they are large) but there were two margaritas showing $30 each. When asked, the server said that those were the two skinny margaritas ordered because they are considered hand-crafted. When my wife ordered the skinny margarita the server asked "which tequila do you want?", and my wife said "house tequila". As many of us know, house tequila (or house anything) is the cheapest tequila in the bar. We told the server that we asked for the house tequila and the margaritas were served with Casa Amigo tequila, which it is a good tequila...not the cheapest by far. She said that it didn't matter which tequila they use, the price is the same...$30. ??? I asked for the manager and Eric Velasco came to the table. His explanation was the same until I said, "if the tequila doesn't matter, what about if I order a skinny margarita with Clase Azul tequila (a really expensive tequila)?" His face change, and logically that was not an option because "Clase Azul is special". He brought the excuse that the menus are not up to date, that the server should have told us about the "hand-crafted" margarita...which she didn't. I mentioned that he is supposed to charge what the menu shows, so he brought another small menu showing hand-craft margaritas at $30. So, a skinny margarita is a "HAND-CRAFT" margarita. After admitting that it was a mistake from the server, I asked him how can we solve this problem? He left and came back with a $5 gift certificate...yes, $5. We spent $400 that night. Well, if you don't know, be ready to pay $30 for a hand-craft margarita, which means that they squeeze the limes on site and they don't use their CRAFTED IN-HOUSE sour mix...exact words from the manager. It looks like they don't squeeze fresh limes for their "crafted in-house sour mix", which it is what their menu shows for a margarita (crafted in-house sour mix, triple sec, and house tequila...for $18). Again, it is the principle , us ordering a skinny margarita...nothing special, and they charging an additional $12 each, without telling us, because supposedly they have to squeeze fresh limes...ridiculous! BTW, we like the place because the food is good...nothing against the kitchen. 5 stars for the kitchen! The one-star review is for the manager, and some for the server since we got stock with two margaritas for $60!!! read more
