When it comes to Mediterranean food it doesn't get much better than this. A lot of bang for your buck as well. The gyros are always good but my go to has to be the lamb skewers. The restaurant has great Persian decor. We got seated on a cozy couch on the floor, near by the fireplace, which was a nice touch. The waiter was attentive but respectful. He gave us enough space so we can enjoyed our date but also very thorough with taking orders and refilling our teas. He definitely deserved 20% tip. The Persian tea was super strong but flavorful, very fragrance. The gyros are delicious. My meat skewers were on a dry side but yet tolerable. I had to put bunch of sriracha in my plain rice. Wish the rice had more seasoning in it though. The caramel cheesecake was not bad, cute decoration around it. It was a nice experience but was a bit on the expensive side. It's a perfect place to take a date to. There are lots of room for privacy. Since I love Mediterranean food, I had tasted much better experience in other places. Ordered the falafel appetizer, a Gyro and greek salad and regular iced tea. The falafel was perfectly cooked but very bland. It could have used a little more herbs. The dipping sauce was surprisingly spicy, it was good but seemed like an odd combination. The Gyro meat was so tender, moist and perfectly seasoned! This was the best Gyro I've every had! The bread was fresh and tasty. My one and only complaint is the iced tea, it was rancid. If I looked hard enough I could probably see mold floating. When I managed restaurants, my biggest obsession was keeping the tea dispenser clean and the tea fresh. Tea builds bacteria at a fast rate and if it stays at room temp it becomes spoiled and mold forms in the nozzle. This was the worst "spoiled tea" I've ever experienced. Great place to eat we have catered a few parties with food from Pars. Have to say not much food was left behind. Our youngest daughter who is 8 would eat here every day if we let her. This was such a treat to have discovered! I loved the extensive menu and that each dish was well described! They have a lot of gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options and a variety of price points. The daily specials are excellent. The portions are very generous and they have an excellent wine and beer list. The waitstaff is extremely nice and we got to sit out on the patio well past our meal just enjoying the night. The appetizers and desserts are also really lovely. I told my server that we just had the meal of the year. Although the year hasn't ended I don't believe there is a restaurant in Albuquerque that can match or beat Pars on any level. Firstly excellent servers attentive yet not obtrusive quietly appearing when needed. i had the roasted lamb with Basmati rice spot tinged with saffron, roasted tomato, greek salad and added pita bread. Also served with a shaker of Sumac, delectable flavoring compared to sweet tartness of a pickled plum. My finicky companion had the vegetarian combo which included the dolmas, tabouli, spanakopita, falafel, hummus, olives, greek salad and the most heavenly tzatziki dip ever on Allah's earth. I live in North Carolina now and every time I come to town, I am always sure to eat at Pars. This place is great. Kebab is spot on and not dry at all. The basmati portions are a bit large, but nothing to worry about. The biggest reason I'm writing is you need to come here for the persian baklava. Its homemade and delicious. It's very hard to find properly made baklava. You can taste the pistachio, honey, and most importantly the rose water. The persian chai, was also spot on. Will be coming back before I leave!!! I really enjoy Pars, I eat there quite often. I also enjoy other Med restaurants around town such as Zorba's. I've tried quite a few of their menu options and I've found most of them well-prepared, even if they're not always to my personal taste. I have a few go-to dishes that I recommend: The Chicken Kabab Salad is delicious and when I'm in a salad mood, it's what I think of satisfying my craving. I find the chicken on this salad to be the star of the dish, it's incredibly tender and well-seasoned, however the dressing and mast o khiyar served alongside are very complimentary as well. I'd also recommend the Mazeh or Mini Mazeh combo appetizer if you're really hungry before your entrée. All of the options are standard Med offerings and I'm always pleased at the quality of the dish; I recommend the kashk o bademjoon over the tabouli when the server asks which you want in your Mazeh. Other standard dishes you can't go wrong w/ include the gyro (chicken or lamb), the souvlaki, and the kabobs (I stick mostly to chicken). I've had the fesenjoon as well and; I really like this dish, although some of my friends have not cared for it. I can't recommend enough a bowl of the Soup Jow (or Soup Jo as I knew it from my own cooking). Their recipe is excellent and if you've never tried it, I recommend you do. I don't eat beef so I can't comment on any of the beef dishes. Finishing up w/ desert, Pars' baklava is good w/ a cup of coffee, but if I'm not in the mood for that, I usually skip desert here. I'm not big on sweets, so I admit I'm not the best person to review deserts. The decor of Pars is nice, they keep the lighting fairly dim and it's rather simple, other than the large fountain in the sunken seating area that takes up most of the restaurant. They also offer live belly-dancing on Fridays w/ sometimes live music. I like the dancers and they aren't overly in-your-face w/ their routines. Pars can get pricey depending on what you're ordering, but I always have a good dining experience. The service is usually good and the owner is a really nice guy. We're in there pretty often and he always chats w/ us for a bit when he sees us. It's a good spot if you want a bit nicer of a meal than the nearby chain restaurants alongside I-25 offer. read more

We stumbled in here after driving all day from Denver. I wasn't ready to do another chain restaurant, and Middle Eastern food is one of our go-to favorites. After walking in and seeing the menu, it seemed a bit pricey, but delicious sounding, so despite being in jeans (it seemed a little too nice for that), we asked for a table. Food was amazing - we started with a vegetarian appetizer sampler and everything we had was freaking delicious. Even the pita tasted fresh and yummier than some places. The iced tea was clearly freshly brewed and refilled often. Leo went for a falafel plate, whereas I nommed on walnut-pomegranate soup. Everything was good, but the rice (really, of all things, the rice?) was mind blowing.We were ready to lick the place to get every last grain of rice. There was a belly dance who came and went throughout the night. It was a little awkward at moments; I enjoyed her, while Leo desperately tried to sink into his chair. After trying a couple other (pretty satisfying) middle eastern and greek spots here in ABQ, this one is definitely my favorite. The food is tasty, light and filling at the same time. And the service was great. I had the cornish game hen which was served with rice and it was great. I was kind of wanting a salad with it, but for some random reason, I was feeling like a cheapskate. The hen had a nice grilled taste and subtle seasonings. My hunky friend had the lamb shish-ke-bob. He gave me a hunk of lamb. It was nicely seasoned and delish. Also tried the safron-rosewater-pistachio ice cream and YUM! And another dessert, forgot the name but it was part cookie part pistachio toffee and the place that the two met were YUMMY. This was actually my best culinary experience during my trip to Albuquerque a few weeks ago. Even though I didn't really like my entrée that much, I don't blame the restaurant because I feel confident that I just didn't order the right thing. I ordered a beef dish in some kind of spinach broth. It just wasn't to my taste, but it seemed to be prepared nicely. They had a decent beer selection, which is a huge plus. For dessert, I had something that reminded me of a no-bake cookie. It was a sesame seed something-or-other, and I liked it a lot. I also enjoyed my tabouli salad. The interior of the restaurant is attractive and classy. I particularly liked all the brick. The hostess seated me in the very back, away from everyone else, which is what I prefer, but I was a little worried that I'd be forgotten about. I wasn't. The waitress was very attentive as well as prompt. There was no belly-dancing the Thursday night that I was there. I didn't mind because I was there to enjoy my meal in solitude. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere includes many authentic Persian items. I've been to many Persian restaurants and this is by far the best food and experience. My girlfriend is from Iran, and she agrees its the best Persian restaurant she's been to in the US (after having lived in Washington DC). Her Persian colleagues who've been to Pars Cuisine also say the same thing. We took my sister, brother-in-law and their kids here and basically had a little bit of everything. Some highlights: 1) the Pars Kabab Feast ($82.00) claims to feed 4-5 people and it will easily do so. Its a sampler of every type of kabab they offer. It was stunning. 2) we also wanted to make sure my sister and her family tried some of our favorite Persian stews so we got the Mazeh sampler, included fesenjoon, ghormeh sabzi, and ghimeh. Again each were delicious and tasted surprisingly similar to how my girlfriend makes each of them. 3) I also have to point you to the dessert menu, which includes many items beyond the usual Halva and Baklava. My wife and I really had a good time here. We had their humus and tatziki and found both were good and the pita was extra tasty! We split a salad and a pair of beef and chicken kabob and found both to be excellent. Lastly we had a couple of deserts. The home made rose water vanilla ice cream was excellent (combined with Baklava). My wife had a desert sampler that had Persian Baklava amoung give other deserts. The different items were all very interesting and it was fun to see the differences in Baklava that I didn't know existed. We ate outside, which was a bit breezy but they had items to secure the table cloth and keep things under control. It was a bit weird when the belly dancer popped out of the door (being located in a strip mall looking building added to it) but she was great and a really fun performer. Really decent Persian restaurant and one of our go to places when we have guests in town. All of their kababs are scrumptious but my favorite grilled item is the cornish game hen which is has been heavily marinated so it isn't gamey at all. Whatever you order, if it comes with rice be sure to ask for the rice with barberries in it. Those tart little berries really compliment the grilled meat along with the sumac they give you to sprinkle over your food. Although the middle eastern music is great, sometimes the belly dancing gets to be annoying when you just want to eat dinner with the other people in your party. The hummus was fresh with an ideal, smooth consistency. The falafel were wonderfully flavorful. The gyro was good with a very fresh, light tzatziki sauce. I can't believe I've never been in here before. What a wonderful combination of flavor sand freshness! A few of the stews on the sampler were duds, but the roasted Cornish hen with the special basmati (polo z something) was AMAZING!!! We sat on the samovar around the fountain. Service: We were promptly greeted and sat. Our waiter was prompt to take our drink order. We explained that we had never eaten Persian food and had a lot of questions. His knowledge of the menu was good, but he didn't answer our questions. He just kept telling us what his favorites were and pointing us to the Mediterranean section of the menu. Perhaps that should have been a clue, but we wanted to try something we had never had before. Food: Bland and unexciting. Maybe it was what we ordered, but we were very unimpressed. Service was good but the food itself was definitely not authentic Iranian food. The koobideh was paper thin and the barg had all kinds of spices in it that it shouldn't have. I think they might be trying to appeal to more ppl by making it taste more like Mediterranean or Greek food rather than Iranian. I love trying new places so I had to try this place out. The decor inside the place was very pretty and had a very nice atmosphere to it. My husband and I opted for the tradtional seated area, which had very short tables and chairs. I thought it was neat, but it was uncomfortable for my husband. If you have longer legs you may prefer their normal tables. The food was very good. I would definitely recommend this place for their cuisine! The service was strange, though. Before we placed our order another couple had arrived and the waitress sat them at the table right next to us despite the restaurant was empty. We could hear their conversation very clearly since it was just the four of us in that restaurant. My husband and I were a little miffed about it, to be honest. Yummy. I've eaten here several times now and once I accepted that it is different from my favorite Iranian restaurant (in Maryland), I grew to like it. Last night, my husband and I came at 9 pm after seeing a movie. We were one of two couples in the place, though another came in right before closing. I'm not sure why they say us right next to the other couple, but oh well. We sat on the floor (really a seat very low to the ground) and we were comfortable. My husband and I each had a salad--me the koobideh (ground beef) and he the jujeh (chicken). It was delicious. The dressing is a little mustardy while I prefer it more lemony, but it was still good. Great tzaziki. Be sure to ask for some sumac, as that always adds an extra, wonderful spice. The service was fine, the food was fresh and plentiful, though on the pricey side. If you are looking for a different dining experience I would recommend Pars Cuisine. This restaurant provides a fun, intimate, and classy atmosphere. The owner is always smiling and greets all who enter his establishment. I had the Greek salad and gyro this afternoon and it was delicious. The Greek salad has a hard to beat taste with the kalmata olives making you mouth water. I have never had better seasoned and cooked gyro meat (beef&lamb). Although I didn't have it this go around, please try the rice with your meal. The basmati rice with saffron is simply out of this world.
