Cajun Salmon Sandwich & Mashed Sweet Potato Side & Precipice Coffee with Pistachio Milk
Elizabeth G.

Of all the restaurants we went to in Bar Harbor, this one was my favorite. The food was all really great, and so was the coffee. I would highly recommend getting the pistachio milk! The salmon was so good, and so were all the sides. The only nit-picky thing is the clam chowder didn't taste like clam chowder. It was delicious, but spiced more like a chicken noodle soup. It wasn't the creamy clam chowder I was expecting. They also don't have salt or pepper on the tables. The service was very nice! We were offered coffees for the road, and checked on the perfect amount. I also loved the atmosphere of the place, we sat on the patio and it was perfect! Overall rating: 4.8/5 stars

I'm so glad that i made a stop here because everything that i tried was delicious. Our favorite dish had to be the blueberry pie for dessert but everything we had felt thoughtfully prepared. The signature salad has a big portion of toppings that I really enjoyed and the amount of dressing was perfect. We also tried the crab roll which was well complemented by the pickle on the side. The crab was cooked well and seasoned. The smoked fish chowder was nice to warm us up but I didn't like the flavors of this as much. The fish is salmon and haddock! The oysters were so good. I loved their balsamic mignotte and i felt that all the varieties they had were distinct from each other. Unicorns were my favorite that night then blondes. The ambiance is adorable- we got a nice table on the patio corner. It's kind of a weird spot because people are moving all around and tend to stare but once we started eating it was fine. The chairs were comfy and bouncy. The only place that this place was lacking was the service. The server was on her first week of the job and it definitely showed. A little bit forgetful and inattentive. Definitely waited a long time for some basic things like water and the check. There were some stretches we just didn't see her at all. The pineapple tea was a little bland- it needed sugar or more ginger.

Nice outside deck ambiance (but beware of bees), servers are very friendly and food comes out quickly. We got the mussels, salmon burger and halibut plate. Everything tasted nice and fresh but wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger. Overall decent meal!

For off season travelers wanting fresh seafood (without having to drive ~20 miles), Peekytoe Provisions is open year-round from Wednesday to Sunday, 12 - 8 pm. Those who want to prepare the seafood themselves should just head straight to the second door where they have a small market section carrying a strong selection of local and sustainably sourced fish, shellfish, and live lobsters. Those who rather have the professionals prepare it for you, the first door leads to you to various plates and brew. Then there are those...dine first, quench thy thirst, then grab more fresh seafood on the way out for later. Their story and the recently completed renovations make this place absolutely charming. Their philosophy and grit is what makes them such a success story in this area. Of course, none of this would mean anything if they didn't stick to their commitment to QUALITY every single time. Definitely recommend. Definitely will be back.

Convenient location by the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. Nice leveled up covered patio seating. Bar inside with small seafood market with some grocery items including noodles, canned fish, and Asian sauces. Service was great. Food was good.

YUM. Such a good spot for quality seafood. We ordered the lobster roll, crab roll, and crab panini and they were all AMAZING. All of the staff members were very sweet and helpful. Definitely a must-try spot in Bar Harbor.

Cute spot to grab food in downtown Bar Harbor. The servers were kind and thoughtful and had a fan blowing to cool down my pup on a hot day. The oysters were delicious - loved the Bar Harbor Blondes. The halibut ceviche with tortilla chips was okay. The lobster rolls are good, but not as good as some other restaurants in the area.

The inside is clearly new and looks lovely but the noise carries so it's a smidge difficult to have a normal conversation if it's at all occupied. Service was fine but the food less so. The oysters I would definitely not recommend at all. I was excited about their hot lobster roll but what I think they do is steam the lobster and then sautee it, which cooks it twice so it was very chewy. My husband had their crab roll and liked it, so go for that!

After already having our requisite lobster roll, clam chowder and blueberry pie from another place ... we decided to walk a bit further up the road past the park to where it was less touristy. Decided on a bowl of clam chowder with extra clams ($11 + $5) ... which was more broth based than creamy and not sure it was worth extra for the kinda tough clams. Also got the Lazy Lobster ($30) with side of mustard seed cole slaw ... but lobster was a little less tender than expected. The best part was the Belleflower Brewing Antheia's Ascent DIPA ($10) ... so hazy and perfect. Although quite busy when we got there ... we asked (an older woman who was lukewarm to us) to wait for a larger outdoor table on the side. But another woman (owner) was quite friendly in joking with us and taking our order. Service was good with a rotation of staff helping to meet the needs of all the customers ... both in and out doors. Not sure if we just ordered the wrong things ... but if ever in BH again, we would go back to give it another try with possibly the oysters ($3).

We stopped by for an early dinner around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get seated immediately. There are tables with umbrellas in the front and a row of bar seating and tables inside. We stared with the Halibut Ceviche and this was good but it was missing the onions and jalapeño that were listed in the description. Next up were the oysters! These were the freshest and best oysters we've had in Bar Harbor. We got the Blonde and Cranberry ones. The Blonde ones were very briny but very good. You do not need to add any of the accompaniments! These are also one the best priced oysters in BH. For main entrees, we got the Bluefish sandwich and the Salmon Rueben Panini. Both of the sandwiches had extremely fresh fish. I thought the salmon would be fully cooked but it's more of a "medium" lox type. They also have a great selection condiments and snacks in their marketplace and they also carry a wide selection of Momofuku items. I highly recommend this location! They are closed on Monday's or else we would have returned.

Highly recommend coming here for those visiting Bar Harbor!…read more It was my first time in the city and dinner here was great. The staff were efficient and friendly. They even gave my friends and me some free sapodillas with honey to try as a welcome. They were super fresh, warm, and pillowy. (7.8/10) It was my first time having this type of bread and I thoroughly enjoyed it We ordered the carne asada tacos, the carnitas tacos, the sapodilla plate and the chicken taquitos plate to share. The carne asada and carnitas tacos were both delicious. The meat was well cooked and seasoned and the portions were filling (7.5/10). We got medium salsa on everything and be warned that the medium has a kick to it. The taquitos plate was standard and exactly what I would expect. The chicken inside was still moist, and the shell was crispy (7/10). The sapodilla plate had 2 big sapodillas and a generous portion of chicken, rice, and beans on it (8.5/10). Despite the large portions, the dishes tasted fresh and I didn't feel too heavy afterwards. The prices here are reasonable, the service is great, and the food is tasty. I would come back for sure!

Unfortunately, the salsa we tried lacked flavor and was a bit too spicy for the taquitos. We ordered the taquitos plate, and I noticed a few areas for improvement. The romaine lettuce could be replaced with shredded lettuce for a more authentic touch, and the dish could benefit from more Mexican crema and cotija cheese. Additionally, the red onions and cilantro would be better if they were chopped more finely. Considering the portion sizes, I felt the pricing didn't quite match the experience. The inspired Los Angeles street tacos were decent, but again, the red onions and cilantro could use finer chopping for better flavor integration. As someone who hails from Los Angeles and cherishes the taquitos from Olvera Street, I was excited to try a restaurant that draws inspiration from that experience. While I appreciate the effort, I found it didn't quite meet my expectations. If you ever find yourself in Los Angeles, I highly recommend visiting Cielito Lindo, a beloved food stand known for its hand-rolled taquitos and delicious avocado sauce since 1934. It's truly a must-try!

Their menu is surprisingly diverse and everything we tried was perfectly executed with extremely fresh ingredients. Everything is made from scratch, from the corn tortillas in the tacos to the tzatziki sauce in their lamb kofta. The cocktails were also expertly crafted. The ones I had used in-houses infused tequila and mezcal. But what really sets Project Social apart is the service and hospitality. Special thanks to Nicole for remembering that my kids had nut allergies and removing the pistachios from the bruschetta without my asking. It was chilly out but the patio was warmed by heat lamps and blankets were waiting for us on our seats. We ordered the midnight cocktail, a beer, the seafood chowder, prosciutto toast, patatas bravas, and duck tacos. I enjoyed all of the items, if I were visiting again I would reorder the tacos and the patatas. I know tapas typically are served as they're ready, not all at once, but each of our items were pretty spaced out so we were only eating one plate a time. I wish they were served a little closer together. I would love to come by again on a summer night to try a different cocktail and some of the other menu items. As other reviews have stated, the drinks and tapas are a little pricey, even for the area, but worth the splurge for a romantic evening or special occasion.
