As soon as I walked into Fachini, I was obsessed with the vibes of this place. It was perfect spot for a fun night out. They started us off with complimentary bread and whipped ricotta which was amazing! For an appetizer, we tried the lobster ravioli which is absolutely a must-order. The flavors were incredible and definitely one of the highlights. For our mains, the linguine vongole was a bit on the bland side, and the fettuccine al ragu bolognese could have used more sauce, the meat was a little dry. The special of the night, stuffed tortellini with mashed meatballs, was easily the star of the table. The Chicken Al Limone had a delicious crust and great flavor as well. Even with a couple of dishes that missed the mark for me, the overall food and service were great. Fachini is an Italian restaurant located in Highland Park Village in Dallas. Atmosphere: A long walk up a red carpeted set of stairs (or there is an elevator) sets the stage for a fine dining experience. White table clothes and waiters in suits is the norm. 1 Star Service: One of my favorite things is the fact that the service is not only polite, but it is not pretentious like you would get in some other "ritzy" restaurants. The waiters are also attentive without being overbearing. They give you time to look at the menu and decide and only come to the table when they see you need something. They seem to read the table very well. 2 Stars Food: Fantastic Italian fair with bright sauces and some classic appetizers. We started with the Calamari which was delightfully crisp and hot out of the fryer. Nice accompanying condiments of a chunky marinara and tartar sauce. For entrees we each decided to get a different pasta and share. The portions are gratuitous and make for easy leftovers or just for snagging a bite from your table mates when they aren't paying attention. We ordered the Cappelletti Bolognese, the Lobster Ravioli, and the Rigatoni alla Vodka. As stated before, the sauces for each were delectable. The surprise for me was the classic tomato based sauce for the Lobster Ravioli. Almost always, Lobster Ravioli comes with a cream based sauce from my experience, and this was a wonderful revelation that I am all for. The Vodka sauce wasn't overly strong and had just that right amount of "oomph" to it. It was paired with a perfect pasta to help capture it. And finally the Capelletti, stuffed with savory meat and covered with a deep red bolognese sauce, was also delicious. 2 Stars Overall: What a great lunch, and it's easy to see why this is a goto spot for fine Italian food. Great Experience. My girlfriend and I wanted to try something new. This was highly recommended on TikTok. We were warmly greeted, we didn't have a reservation, showed up 45 minutes before close and we still got a seat within 30 seconds. Complimentary focaccia and pickled vegetables were good. I never leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that it deserves one. I've worked in the service industry for years, my husband has managed steakhouses in Dfw, and have been to this restaurant before--this was, without exaggeration, one of the worst experiences I've had anywhere. Kristi is a poor excuse for a manager. I requested a booth in the main dining room in my reservation and was instead seated at a random table in the middle of the room without a word. When I went back to ask what happened, Kristi stood there with the host and casually told me I could "wait for a booth" and that they just sat me wherever was available. That's not hospitality--that's laziness. The bare minimum would have been to ask before seating us whether we wanted to wait, instead of ignoring the request entirely and hoping no one would say anything. I ultimately kept the table, but the rest of the night only went downhill. Our server was incredibly rude, condescending, and made the entire table uncomfortable. I've never complained after a meal in my life, but this was my birthday, and I felt genuinely embarrassed and guilty that my friends treated me and paid for such a terrible experience. When I explained all of this, Kristi's response was dismissive at best. No table touch. No attempt to salvage the situation. She actually asked what I would have done or liked her to do? Not my job to tell you to do the bare minimum with your job but I did tell her she should have done a table touch. When I mentioned the server's behavior, her response was essentially, "That's unfortunate, he helped open this place." That is completely irrelevant. Longevity doesn't excuse treating guests poorly. Maybe next time someone asks for Parmesan, he shouldn't make the entire table feel uncomfortable with his comments. I've worked in service over ten years and my husband has managed steak houses in DFW. I think knowing how to run things then stings more when you see things like this. Management sets the tone for a restaurant, and the tone here was apathetic, unprofessional, and uncaring. This place has gone downhill. read more

Loved this place! My husband and I had never been so decided to try it out. The bar table was such a pretty vibe with the windows and lit up trees for Christmas. My husband got a red wine that he liked and the bar tender was so nice to create me a mocktail (tasted like a Moscow mule - was yum and came in the copper cup which I always like a mocktail to be presented in a fun way!) we got the calamari which came with a butter sauce that was so good, lasagna, and veal parm! We were lucky enough to walk in and grab a table. Most likely because it was around 4PM on a weekday. The main reason why we were here is that we were hungry and my wife had to do some shopping in the area. I was never in this area before so I pulled up the trusty Yelp app and Fachini was displayed as a 4 plus star restaurant, to add we were hungry for Italian cuisine. This restaurant is definitely high-end in a high-end part of town. I mean when you see Lamborghini's and Porsche's parked around every other car, there is some cash floating around. And it is Highland park for a reason. To start the host and our waiter Jack were very helpful and accommodating to us. Jack recommended some drinks, I ordered a Bullet bourbon Old Fashioned and my wife ordered a chablis. My daughter ordered the hard stuff of ice cold milk. While we pursued the menu we did get to try out the bread starter and boy was that amazing with the cheese spread and pickled veggies. For the app we ordered the mussels which also hit the spot for us. My daughter ordered the ever classic spaghetti and meatballs. Which I of course had a to try. The meatballs were huge and homemade with a nice flavor to them. The spaghetti was great and most importantly my daughter was happy with it. My wife ordered the Wagyu Tenderloin a la Pepe medium rare and it came out great. She really really enjoyed it and literally devoured all of it. As for myself I ordered the fantastic Veal Chop Marsala. Which all I can say was literally amazing and to me was the zenith of the meal and was to me better than the Wagyu tenderloin. If we were elsewhere I would have picked up the bone and gnawed on it to get all of the meat, but I had to restrain myself. We also ordered a side o the whipped mashed potatoes were also fantastic. For our dessert we ordered the Tiramisu which was very decadent and delicious. We did order vanilla ice cream for my daughter which I really liked but my daughter was not used to seeing little black vanilla bean specs in the ice cream so she passed. (more for my wife and I. ha ha.) Over all Jack was very attentive, the servers were fantastic and I'm really glad we came here. I will be back one day for a special event. Excited when we booked on July 9, 2024 for Dallas Restaurant week 2 for 8/17/24. Disappointed when Restaurant week menu was cancelled upon arrival. The menu was different and no longer a 3 course meal as we had planned. The lobster ravioli is a favorite elsewhere. Here it was small pieces and hard to taste the lobster, as well as too much sauce on top. Caesar salad was shared and not worth the price of $18 for the portion. Snapper New Orleans delicious. For entries, we had the 50-layered lasagna and the veal parm. The lasagna was definitely unique and tasty and I thought the veal parm was even better. The pasta that came with the veal parm was delicious as well. For dessert, although small, we enjoyed the tiramisu. I don't personally like carrot cake, but my wife said it was ok. The one thing I would not get is the espresso martini (they pour it out of a box for $18). Had I known that, I would not have gotten it. While the drink was fine, I'd much prefer having a bartend craft his own espresso martini, but that's just me. Additionally, either the ice or the water tasted funky. I would look into that.
