This is a late review. It's my 5th time coming here. I went to Lim's auto repair in Alhambra before coming here. He lost my business when he did not inform me that my truck did not pass the smog check. I found out the next day when i reviewed the print out. Had i not look at the test result, there would a delay in getting my renewal tag. I patronize alan more and more due to his integrity, trustworthy, and that the way to go about running a business. Had a great experience here. Showed up without an appointment and was on my way again (with a smog certificate) ten minutes later. The cost as of this writing (7/1/17) is $45 with a card or $40 cash for most newer cars, which I found to be very reasonable. read more

This place was recommended by a friend. I got a smog check, it was very quick and straightforward. While I was waiting for my smog check to complete, I watched someone else get their car looked at for some oil related problem. They were working together with the car owner to rule stuff out, asking relevant questions and pointing around at stuff in the car lifted up above them. I don't know how that turned out because my smog check was completed so quickly (haha) but I thought it was cool how involved that process went. At other places I've been to, they look at your car in another room and do... something, who knows. This place seems cool though. read more

When we first arrived. I was a bit skeptical since it is located is one of those "mechanic malls". But from the moment they spoke their first word , it was all polite and helpful. Our car is a lowered 8th gen mugen. And so he was careful enough to not scrape up the lip against Curbs and what not. They had many magazines and snacks along with coffee. Hot chocolate. Cold water. Etc. Clean. Very friendly. They explained what was happening and showed us the results of our smog check. They also applied a $20 dollar coupon so we saved a nice amount. Will be going here from now on. This place is 5 stars for a reason. But... Stay away from smog on mission and Garfield in alhambra. read more

Wow, that was fast. I think I was there for 5 minutes, certainly less than 10 minutes. Good price, nice people. I definitely recommend them. Also, I didn't even have to ask about the coupon on their website- the guy just applied without asking. This place definitely deserves the almost unanimous 5-star rating. When I went to pay my registration fees this year, I realized that I needed to get a smog check for the first time. This place was the first that popped up when I searched for smog check businesses. I went when the place first opened at around 8.05am-ish and I was out by 8.15am! I wasn't even late for work! Alen was awesome! The test center i had gone to for years on Rosemead is now a Starbucks! So after checking Yelp, I brought in my 97 Cobra Mustang. I asked Alen if my results would be effected by me not driving the car very much in the part few years. He told me to go get fresh gas since I was only 1/4 of a tank and bring it back after a little spin. We chatted about different car insurances while he ran the test. Felt more like I was at my buddy's motorcycle shop than a smog check. I'll be directing everyone I know to Alen from now on! read more

Alen is Great !! Great Smog shop, took about 10-15 minutes of waiting while he was waiting on another car, finished that up and took up my car. He seemed pretty knowledgeable and honest. Finished the Smog Check in about 15 minutes. The price was pretty much the same ($40 total) as anywhere else after the $20 coupon available that he automatically applies to the final price. The shop was clean and has a very nice waiting area with a computer etc if you want to hang around while your car is being worked on. He does oil changes too on the side and the price for that seemed like the average price. He had some recommendations about the oil to use for the car and had reasons why i should use the brand he suggested. Overall i was satisfied with my visit and would recommend my friends to use this place for their smog requirements. read more

This was my third visit for same vehicle: first was four years ago when he was in different Pasadena location, second was two years ago to where he is now, and today. He applied a discount before I had a chance to ask. Also, I was unable to use the free WiFi because I was in and out of there within 10 minutes. He explained older vehicles require additional testing; I have a 1999. State regulations, Alen is required to comply. I came here this morning for an early 8:30 am smog check and - the shop looked immaculate and shiny and the early morning sun was beaming into the shop- I must have been the first customer. Alen is so kind and professional- he told me to have a seat in the office- and there is a glass window where you can see into the shop. He did the test in less than 10 minutes.
