I live on the block that this salon is on. I've been coming here for years and always have a nice experience. As my nails were drying today, Lily, one of the ladies who works there, asked me if I would like a massage. Knowing that Lily gives a great massage, I decided to get 20 minutes, while my nails dried. In 20 minutes, Lily made me feel like a new, better version of myself. She will find every knot, and she will work her magic. She is very strong. She cut them way to short, I have 4 cuts under my fingers and around my fingers that now burn under water. I went in with gel X I had done myself. Gel X is soak-off.. that was all that was on my nails. I guess the nail tech didn't want to wait for my left hand to soak because she started ripping off the residual layer of gel x.. fine.. then she got to my pinky on my left hand and ripped. off. half. my. nail. She then gaslit me that it was not my nail she had ripped off and that the little bit left on the top was gel x. I told her it wasn't so she wouldn't attempt to rip off the LITERAL TINY bit of nail left on my finger. The nails turned out fine. Shape is 6/10 but they are angled extremely upwards so they look not at all natural. They are also far down from my cuticle. Forgot to mention, they didn't prep the nail at all. There was residue everywhere and they used no primer or dehydrator. Won't be going back. Tipped 20% of course though. I will attach photos if I can. read more

I give this place 0 stars. When I first complained abt 8-9 nails chipping within one week, the manager tried to ask why I didn't come back sooner. I will not be coming back and wouldn't recommend. I had a very bad experience with the manager saying at they would just "fix" the nails that had chipped or would charge me if they removed to redo them. They have no customer service as I had to threaten to post the pics on yelp for them to re do. I have a good feeling all the "good" reviews are fake. read more

I love this nail place so much. The ladies here always do a fantastic job for great prices!! The vibe of the salon is veryyyy bare bones. No televisions, no fancy set up, hardly any decor. But I don't mind at all. The music is soothing. You can listen to a podcast. I love the time to just sit and reflect. The ladies that work here are very kind and quick. They have never made my cuticles bleed (can't say that about most places). My gel always last at least two weeks. I don't do anything fancy. Just gel or regular polish manicures and pedicures. I did once do Gel X here and it was fantastic. Lasted almost a month before I took it off because my nails grew out. This place itself is small and not too fancy looking but the service and their standards of cleanliness is really what stands out for me. I noticed that Yelp doesn't have any pictures of pedicures for this nail salon yet I decided to take a chance on getting one. They currently offer one of the lowest prices for regular pedicures in the area, if not THE lowest price. They quoted me $25 on the phone and they charged exactly that much, I paid in cash (might be a few for paying with card). Lily did really thorough work, and even accommodated when I wasn't sure about which color to get by testing out the colors for me. She didn't spend too much time on scrubbing the bottom of my feet, but I actually dislike that part of pedicures LOL... I don't have very rough or callousy feet, so too much scrubbing starts to tickle. What Lily REALLY spent her time on was using the tools to extract the dead skin and debris from my nails, as well as making sure the end product looked really flawless. Unlike other pedicurists, she really painted into the edges of the nails and didn't miss. I really appreciate when people are detail-oriented because I MYSELF am detail-oriented. Short massages were scattered throughout the service, so if you expect long ones I think you might have to ask for it and they'll charge you. I can honestly do without it though, and they didn't rush me when I was sitting at the drying station. Would definitely come back again :) read more

What a great nail salon! I've been twice already in the neighborhood through frozen conditions just to get over here. I got a polish change both times, called and they had space ready for me to come in. They're not like other nail salons which say come in and make you wait for 30 min..haha. First of all, my precious manicure was 3 weeks old and lifting so the nail tech used a metro card to pop the old powder off - love it. Passion is an Upper East Side hidden gem. The only downside is that people started discovering it, and now you do have to plan well in advance to get an appointment because they are so popular! There is definitely a reason for this - the employees are super nice and always do a great, detailed job. Though they have pretty up to date chairs, the actual salon is subpar in terms of appearance. They did however, deliver a clean job and the staff was surprisingly pleasant. I asked to soak them because the lady was too aggressive and bent my nail while filing. I will not be coming here again. Initially I was a pretty consistent client. I live in the neighborhood and it is convenient and a good price. I usually get SNS gel or powder gel but after today they will not get any more money from me. They have a policy of coming in within 10 days if your nails mess up or they're not how you like it. This was my first time I have come in for a complaint about my nails. The were chipping in the corners very early on and all around very thin and not sustainable. I have a busy schedule so I couldn't come in the first couple of days after getting them done. When I came in they told me to wait a few minutes, which I did not mind. Once someone came over I showed them my nails and asked the price (even though I shouldn't have to pay anything because it's before the 10 day policy) and she proceeded to speak her native language to her colleague without answering me. Then when asked if they could fix it( taking off gel polish on two nails and repainting it) they still did not answer but told me to wait. Then they proceeded to tell me that I need to get a whole new set but out of pocket. In my profession as a model, It is routine to get my nails done and keep them maintained. I know my nails last two weeks minimum! When speaking to the owner she proceeded to tell me she could only paint over the nails but not repaint them after already telling them that's what I wanted done. I told her again I got them done less than a week ago. I believe they made an assumption that I was lying about when I got my nails done. I have no reason to lie. Especially as I come here all the time. Overall it was just a bad experience and horrible communication. read more
