Sometimes in Scottsdale I worry restaurants are only good at the vibe and the food is subpar, but not here! il Bracco is wonderfully decorated and cozy, but also has excellent food to match. My boyfriend and I shared the chicken sandwich, the lasagna, and the pesto rigatoni. The chicken sandwich was so flavorful, and I loved that the breading was crispy but not super thick. Our server (Caleb? I think) let us know everything for the chicken sandwich is made in house, including the bun. This might be my favorite chicken sandwich in the valley. Next, the pesto rigatoni had a nice flavor and the housemade pasta had a nice texture. Last, the lasagna really surprised me! I liked the crispy bits and the flavors from the different sauces and cheeses. There's a slight sweetness to the lasagna that I really liked. The thing that stood out to me most about our visit was the teamwork! Multiple different people filled our waters, we had a different person take our drink order initially, and I noticed whoever was closest would grab our plates to clear the table. I love that it is truly a team effort to fill drinks, clear plates, run food, etc.! This made the service stand out to me. read more

Stopped at IL Bracco to meet Ari. Have to say...this place doesn't run as smoothly as say...a Hillstone. It seems like they have a lot of people in training, or in need of training. Great front desk people though! Pasta...overcooked. High points...Their namesake drink, The IL Bracco...frozen grapefruit and Aperol...perfect today. And the steak tartare...great presentation. Our waiter, Jared, was fabulously enthusiastic-- a true wine connoisseur, he guided us to a great red wine with grape explanations and a tasting before we decided. He also helped with our meal decisions. The menu was very appealing, from salads to apps to entrees to pastas to desserts. We started with the homemade focaccia with whipped ricotta and the wild arugula salad. Three of us had the recommended Bolognese with lamb, beef, and pork ragu -- so fresh and tasty. One of us had the Amalfi Tuna with seared tuna and a delicious vinaigrette over arugula. For dessert, we had an outrageous vanilla ice cream with an olive oil drizzle (sounds gross but wow... it worked) and salted pistachios. Will definitely go back. Wow. Can't deny that I loved everything we ordered. Had to try the crudo and beef tartare. Both amazing but the beef tartare was maybe my favorite thing of the night. Drinks were also awesome. The Bracco and the Italian martini were top-tier. For entrees, we got the spicy gemelli and the one sheet lasagna. I've never been a lasagna person, but this was INSANELY delicious. Charred, and thin lasagna noodles, with amazing ingredients, especially the ricotta, was to die for. It is meatless, so if that matters to you, you should order some meatballs or something. But honestly it's not necessary. My favorite dish is chicken piccata. My wife won't eat it, so I ordered an extra entree to-go. It was amazing. Maybe my favorite entree despite the fact that it was reheated at home. If that wasn't enough, the cheesecake with its delicious crust was incredible. This is a fairly new restaurant which is a chain from Texas, so we thought we would check it out. The pasta was great, but the reason for 3 stars was the service and the steak. Our server was nice but not super attentive. We had to ask several times to refill our water, I'm not sure why he didn't just leave the water jug at our table. They also kept bringing us dirty flatware. There was cold air blowing directly on our table so we were freezing, but it also made our food cold and less enjoyable. The Bolognese was very delicious. The vodka pasta was a bit dry. But the pasta itself is made in house and tastes good. My husband asked not to char the filet, but it still came out quite charred and our server said there was nothing the chef could do about it. What was also weird was that the broccolini was charred. The scallops were cooked well and the salad on top tasted good, but it didn't quite go with the scallops. I did think the dessert was quite good - we had an olive oil ice cream and tiramisu. Mediocre food and service; there are definitely better Italian restaurants, so will not return again. read more

I've been to this restaurant almost 10 times because the food, drinks, atmosphere, and most of the staff are absolutely amazing. It's honestly one of my favorite spots. The cocktails are delicious, the vibe is fun, and every experience I've had here up until now has been great. ATTENTION ‼ : The reason for the 4 star review instead of 5 is because of an interaction with a manager named Amanda that completely shocked me. Here's what happened: the restaurant had already closed, and there was only one other party left in the building who were also wrapping up and leaving. I was sitting at the bar finishing signing my check and filling out the tip. The bartender asked me something that made me laugh and yes, I do have a loud laugh. While I was literally signing the check preparing to leave, Amanda came up behind me, tapped me on the shoulder, gave me a disgusted look, and said: "You know you're not the only person in the restaurant, right?" I immediately apologized and said I was leaving now. Instead of leaving it there, she continued by telling me I was "so loud" and needed to "keep it down." I again said I understood and that I was literally on my way out. She then said, "I'm going to have to ask you to stop being obnoxious," and walked away. I was honestly stunned. Not only was the restaurant basically empty, but I was actively paying and leaving. The bartender even apologized to me afterward for how she spoke to me. I want to make it clear this review is not about the restaurant as a whole because I truly do love this place. The food and vibe are absolutely worth visiting for. But management matters, and the way Amanda spoke to a paying customer was unnecessarily rude and completely lacking basic hospitality or situational awareness. I hope the owners see this and provide some coaching on how to appropriately speak to guests and how to read the room before escalating a completely harmless situation. read more

Great ambiance, our server was super nice and helped us a lot with the menu. The interior really reminded me of Hillstone restaurants, very classy vibes. They have complementary valet since parking is a little tricky. The star of the show was the meatballs. The red sauce that it came with was phenomenal, perfectly balanced sweetness, tartness, and salty umami. It comes with a buttery, crispy yet bouncy focaccia, and we also got the whipped ricotta to try as well, which was a perfect way to try many of the appetizer items. We wanted to save the meatballs to eat with our pastas, but it was too hard to resist the piping hot meatball, they were gone before our next course came. The chopped salad was delicious, perfectly refreshing and the banana peppers added a perfect kick, while the fried garbanzo beans added a great crunch. All the pieces of this salad really did its job. For pastas we got the spicy vodka gemelli, and cacio e Pepe bucatini. They have a few options for protein (which aren't listed on the menu for some reason) but we opted out. They were definitely great, perfectly seasoned, but we have had better. Still thinking about the great experience, wonderful service, and terrific food. The standout dishes were the meatballs, gemeli pasta with red sauce, and the chicken piccata was out of this world. The fried artichokes were good, but half of it was just kind of semi burnt flakes, but the amazing aïoli made up for it. Definitely looking forward to returning. Had a bit of a glitch with the valet, so will try to avoid using them next time. We needed a Disability spot, but valet had parked cars in those spaces that did not have Disability placards or plates. When asked about this, the valet said - "we don't have disability spots on the weekends"! Only open for a couple weeks now and we managed to score a reservation. Our server was Sage - he was fantastic. But I appreciate the team approach in service. Everyone was nice and full of personality. Sage nows the menu well well and he managed to be attentive on a busy Saturday night. The food was high quality with an innovative approach. There were some options that you don't see often. I especially loved the way the lasagna was made - that was a whole vibe! While we waited for our table, we got espresso martinis. It was one of the best I have had in a very long time!!! Bravo!! And the bartender was a delight. Went to Il Bracco on Scottsdale Rd, and learned very quickly that the hype is real... and so is the reservation situation. We booked a 4:00pm Saturday because anything later was completely sold out. They opened last Monday, so we wanted to see what everyone's been talking about. We started with the Wild Arugula Salad -- it's on the smaller side, with these square sheets of parmesan placed around it like little edible coasters. Flavor-wise it's exactly what you want from arugula + lemon: bright, fresh, simple. Then came the house-made focaccia with whipped ricotta + fresh olive oil. Great shareable portion, perfect crisp crust with a soft, tender center. Really good bites. I personally would tone down the thyme flakes a bit, but it's still 100% worth ordering. Next up was the orzo salad, and this was the star of the show up to that point. Everything tasted ridiculously fresh and balanced--roasted corn, basil, feta, roasted squash, green onion, currants, pine nuts, a little pepper, and just the right amount of olive oil. I could eat a pound of this and not get tired of it. We decided to try the cacio e pepe. Noodles were perfectly al dente, and it tasted like what you'd expect if you ordered it in Italy. That said... it was too pepper-forward for me, and I'm usually a heavy-pepper person. If you love the traditional version, you'll probably appreciate it. If you prefer the more American/creamy style, this one might disappoint. The sheet lasagne gets 5/5 for presentation, 4/5 for flavor. My only wish: meat in the sauce. There was a slight sweet undertone I didn't love, and I think a meatball or two would balance it out and make it a must-order. Still worth trying and honestly, it reheated really well in the air fryer the next day. And then... the chicken sandwich. This is, without exaggeration, the best chicken sandwich I've ever had! The whole Chick-fil-A vs Popeyes debate isn't even playing on the same field as this thing. Perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy chicken, breading that's crispy but still moist, and a bun that tastes like it's made in-house. It was so good we came back the next day and got one to go!! On that second visit we also tried the cheeseburger--juicy, cooked perfectly, loaded with flavor, and topped with a great combo of arugula, fennel, red onions, provolone, and Calabrian chili. Service was a big win too, our server Miles was knowledgeable, attentive, and the staff overall was high class and hospitable. The interior vibe reminded me of Hillstone, but more relaxed with a slightly Mediterranean feel. We'll definitely be back. Always a bit hesitant to try a place soon after opening but this place was a pretty well oiled machine (the one pet peeve is having a reservation but still needing to wait 15 minutes but such is life) - food timing wasn't rushed, servers were knowledgeable and friendly, wine was reasonably marked up and everything was delicious. Eggplant Parmesan was delicious- we asked for bread to dip into the sauce, pesto pasta was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful and some of the best white beans I've had as a side dish. 100% will return. read more

First of all credit where credit is due, this place is beautifully designed. the dining room is stunning and the booths are very cozy. The steak tartare was a clear standout and extremely delicious along with the focaccia bread. Great place for a date night. That being said the rest of the food was a little underwhelming for the price you pay. the vodka pasta was pretty bland and the steak i received was slightly sub-par considering how many good steak houses are in the area. overall not a bad place but sadly i just left there desiring a little bit more. read more

My friend and I were so excited to try this new place. So dissatisfied with the wait time even though we had reservations. We met friends there. I had made 6:00PM OpenTable inside dinner reservations for a party of 4 weeks ago. My friend and I arrived to see the parking lot already filled... no problem FREE valet parking which was nice. We were 10 minutes early for our 6:00PM reservation. We checked in with the hostess and was told "your table is just finishing up and you will be seated shortly." Our friends arrived promptly at 6:00PM, my friend checked in with the hostess again and we were told "we are cleaning up the table." 6:25PM, still waiting outside, my friend spoke to the hostess to ask to speak to the manager. The manager came out 10 minutes later. She apologized and offered us a table outside and if we still wanted inside, the wait would be an additional 10 minutes longer. REALLY? We did not want to sit outside. By the time we were seated inside at a booth it was 6:45PM. We were offered complimentary cocktails while we waited in the parking lot... sipping cocktail in a parking lot was not my thing so we waited till we sat down to take advantage of the offer. OK now for the UPSIDE of our experience. Once we sat down Hailey our server introduced her self and made the rest of the evening very enjoyable. We all started with our complimentary cocktails and was also given a complimentary order of the Housemade Focaccia. BTW the ASTI 76 is a wonderful cocktail. Appetizers that were ordered was the Whole Leaf Caesar Salad and Steak TarTare. Entrees were the Chicken Picatta, Eggplant Parm, Spicy Gemelli and the Bolognese. We had 0 interaction with the staff, and if that's something you're into, by all means, come here. This place had us in and out,check closed within 50 minutes of us sitting down. The lasagna was really good, and very tasty. The Cacio was middling. Come Here on a weekday if you're in a hurry, because they clearly are too. We've been looking to try Il Bacco since it opened and finally found a night that worked for everyone. First, there is no other option than to valet at the restaurant so just keep that in mind when driving. From the outside, it looks like a nice upscale restaurant. Inside is kind of plain and more like a sports bar without decor. The patio looks directly at the parking lot with no foliage separating you and the cars so you are looking at pavement and cars. We arrived and were greeted by the nicest hostesses. Everyone was so pheasant with smiles and sweet attitudes. We booked 6:30pm reservations and were sat immediately despite how crowns was at the time. We were sat in a booth in the back which was great. The booths sit a little elevated so you have a complete view of the restaurant. I ordered a dirty martini and my friend ordered a lemon drop. She loved her lemon drop but my dirty martini tasted like it was mixed in the lemon drop shaker. It was terrible, but by the time our server came back to take our food order, I didn't want to make a fuss and just decided to let it go. It was ferry difficult to hold a conversation with the noise level. They need some type of sound cushion or ceiling. It's terrible. My husband ordered the BOLOGNESE $29. Mafaldine, house-made beef, lamb, and pork ragu, and Reggiano. He said he really enjoyed it. Flavorful and tasty. I ordered the CACIO E PEPE $23. Bucatini, cracked black pepper, and Pecorino. Honestly it was very dry with no flavor. Disappointing. Our friend ordered the EGGPLANT PARM $25. Crispy eggplant, fresh mozzarella, and our house tomato gravy. She said it was very good. CENTER CUT FILET $62. Hand-cut USDA Prime, broiled, served with polenta and asparagus. Prices appear reasonable except the filet. It is overpriced. I'm on the fence but will give it another try once they have been open a bit longer. They need to fix the noise issue. No excuse for not having some type of sound cushion system for this small space. No one likes yelling while trying to have a nice meal and dining experience. read more

Had reservations for 4pm on a Saturday. Saying this place was busy would be an understatement. We were seated at a cozy booth and given some time to gander over the plentiful menu. Started off with the house made focaccia and crispy artichokes. The bread was absolutely amazing and the whipped ricotta took it to a grand level. The crispy artichokes were so tasty and the dip complimented them so well. For our mains, we went with the jumbo seared scallops, one sheet lasagna, NY strip steak, whole leaf Caesar salad, cacio e pepe, and extra sides of heirloom carrots, and cauliflower. Scallops were cooked to perfection and the included salad was a nice addition. The steak was so delicious that the plate was picked clean (it was charred ever so nicely with a wonderful crust). Honestly, everything we ordered was delicious and we would order again without hesitation. Our server, Parker, did a splendid job making sure we were well taken care of; food was delightful, and provided complimentary valet service made for a pleasant experience. Il Bracco Restaurant is an upscale Italian restaurant that just opened in Scottsdale. The housemade pasta is fantastic. The chain is very popular in Texas and is the most booked restaurant on Open Table in Dallas. It was packed when we arrived at 7:30. Reservations highly recommended. Many of their dishes feature olive oil from Queen Creek Olive Mill, including the yummy ice cream dessert. Our server Lexi was amazing. So was the rest of the staff. The assistant manager stopped by to see how everything was. We had the meatballs, salmon, and spicy vodka pasta with chicken. It was all very good! Their signature drink, The Bracco, is a frozen greyhound. Tasty! Parking is at a premium nearby, but they did offer valet parking. We will definitely be back. All of the pasta are handmade here each morning. A balanced sauce, not too salty, the noodles were ideal texture. I've heard so much about the Dallas location of Il Bracco, so naturally I was excited to find out one was coming to Arizona. My husband and I went the very first night they were opened and it did not disappoint. Every single thing we ate was incredible and the prices are on point if not better than neighboring restaurants. To start we had the Bracco (frozen greyhound with aperol) and Quattro Dita. The Bracco was so refreshing, especially on a warm spring evening. My husband's Quattro dita was so smooth! I was particularly impressed with the waitstaff as they changed out his martini glass midway through to ensure it stayed cold - nice touch. Then we had the crispy baby artichokes and meatballs/focaccia with a side of whipped ricotta. The crispy baby artichokes were insane. They were shockingly good - it was a perfect combo with the flake salt, lemon, and creaminess of the sauce. The focaccia was also really delicious especially with the ricotta. My husband loved how tender the meatballs were, and even though I'm not a big meatball lover, I also appreciated the medley of flavors. We had a hard time deciding what to order for dinner so we split the chicken piccata and the spicy gemelli. The chicken piccata came with a kale salad which I thought was an interesting combo, but it totally worked. The brightness of the salad balanced the richer sauce, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The gemelli was also really good and I appreciated that the pasta was perfectly Al dente. We had tiramisu and the Italian sundae for dessert. The tiramisu was really good - very fresh and obviously made in house. The ice cream had olive oil, pistachios, salt, and whipped cream. I was surprised that I like this so much - it's a nice combo of sweet and salty! We live in the west valley so this is a bit of a drive, but totally worth it. It's some of the best food I've had in AZ and I'm super impressed, especially for having just opened! Everyone was happily satisfied. Staff is top notch, our server Michelle was great and took care all 10 of us. I noticed that as soon as one staff member passed another came up, that's pretty amazing clock work. Will definitely be back next time I'm in AZ and have some drinks bcs they looked very tasty from far. At the end of the second ASU ceremony, the graduate were were celebrating said I think dinner was the highlight of my day!!! read more

Insane meal and overall experience. Went here for Easter and it was an incredible evening. Major respect to the staff and leadership at this establishment. It's seriously a well oiled machine. *Vibe - similar to hillstone (found out owner is a Hillstone Alumni) *Service - very mediocre, nothing like hillstone/houstons - but restaurant is fairly new. Told server about nut allergy and had to clarify about dishes that were already served to our table - which had nuts. However, our server Kaitlyn was soooo nice and accommodating. *Food - Caesar salad was actually comical by how small it was. Fried artichokes were hard and felt like i was eating popcorn kernels lol. Spicy Gemelli, polenta, white bean side were soooooo good. Will be returning to have the spicy gemelli. Overall the food was good, but they need to fine tune the service; Starters were very disappointing. read more

Went for dinner on Thursday night, it was my 4th time dining here, however I usually come for lunch or at non-peak times. The food and service were impeccable as always with a couple caveats. We started with the Sicilian Crudo - the seafood was fantastic but there was a generous sprinkling of Maldon salt on top and combined with the capers the dish was very, very salty. It took away from the delicate flavors of the fish. We also ordered The Plaza salad to split which we both enjoyed. However, we wanted to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace and thought they would course out the meal. Instead, as soon as the salad was dropped our entrees came out and we had not even been seated for 30 mins yet. We then felt like we had to scarf down the salad to get to the entrees before they got cold. We ordered the chicken piccata and center cut filet, both were excellent although the polenta the steak was served on also had too generous of a layer of salt making it a bit briny. Overall, we felt the pacing of the meal was rushed. I understand this is one of Scottsdale's hottest new restaurants and it's always packed even at non peak hours but for spending over $250+ it would be nice to be able to relax and enjoy instead of feeling like they just wanted to get everything out as quickly as possible to have the table available in under 90 mins. I will keep returning, however probably not for a special occasion, multi course meal - lunch is still my favorite time to go. read more
