Great food. I had the green chili chicken alfredo. It had great flavor, the only thing I didn't like was the chicken and asparagus being chopped and mixed in. This is our 2nd visit in the last 6-months to Pasta Cafe. First was in March and it was 2 of us during lunch. The food was good and we were looking forward to coming back. Today, we went with a group of about 40 plus. We were quite disappointed. The place cannot adequately handle such a group. 1) The seating was quite tight. You undoubtedly elbowed your neighbor in the process and getting up would be a big undertaking without imposing on various. 2) The beverages were limited, either you didn't get a refill or you had to flag the limited staff down. We finally suggested to leave a pitcher of water on the table for convenience. 3) As in our lunch visit, we were provided bread, none this time, and with the chaos, it wasn't worth asking for. 4) The food came in all sorts of onsey, twosey deliveries. My partner did not receive hers until the very end, almost 1 hour after everybody. I ended up going to Paul the manager on duty to request assistance in expediting receipt. Unfortunately many of us sitting around her had the courtesy to wait, but our meals got cold in the interim. When the meal did arrive, there was no earnest, I apologize, etc. My daughter got meatballs and spaghetti which was a plentiful serving. In fact the other person next to her had not received her meal, so she ended up sharing with my daughter. When her meal finally came, she sent it back. 5) A cake was brought in by our party for sharing. The staff cut cake for one table but failed to do so for the other. At this point it wasn't worth pursuing. While I was able to persuade Paul to compensate me for the delay in meal delivery, I don't believe a $10 credit was worth the bad experience. I don't think I will be returning anytime soon. And certainly not recommending it. read more

Oh, pasta cafe. I have such mixed feelings. First, what's in a name? Not much if THIS is your name. It took me a long time to even bother goi g in. Honestly. On to the food. The food is expensive, but it was pretty good. Sure bet: the calamari with the slices of fried peppercinis/olives. I can't remember the name, but I've had it a few times, and it's absolutely delicious. Also they have a Bourbon pork chop thing that kind of rocked. Negative: the service. I had been a few times where we just left after the calamari appetizer because we had been there for over an hour without a drink refill. And the servers tend to get snarky with each other. This a review of a visit at 8:00 PM ON Monday, 16 March 2015. BOTTOM LINE - TERRIBLE FOOD, great wine, OBNOXIOUS atmosphere, good to fair service, OVER PRICED, and generally a waste of your money. I have been going to the Pasta Cafe since 2009, well before it was sold. In general terms, the quality has fluctuated almost as seasonally as the weather. In this instant case, the Caesar salad (??) was very limp and brown - the question marks denoting I question the label of this brown mess as (1) a salad, or (2) anything remotely representative of any "Ceasar". The Veal Piccatta, one of my favorites, was tough, strongly, over cooked, and the sauce was atrocious. The accompanying pasta was cold and without any flavor. Oh, let's not forget the loud and obnoxious bar flies, both females, who had to tell their life's stories - or whatever - at 65 decibels volumn in a somewhat empty restaurant, all while impressing the hangers-on. RECIMMENDATION. Save your indigestion, $$$, and hearing and find another eating establishment, because this one is low class, regardless of the impressive adverts. read more

For starters, we were given bread without any dipping sauce which we were told was coming. We ordered calamari for appetizer & majority of it was undercooked. Main course I ordered sesame salmon with 2 sides which I didn't even get & the waitress didn't even apologize for not giving it. The salmon was undercooked & the sauce was horrendous! I do not recommend this place. We came here coz it had a high rating. I don't know how. Place was disgusting. It is one of the worst experience I ever had. For a smallish town, it's a nice facility. I don't think the food will make you sick. I'll know more in a couple of hours. The bartender was cordial and appeared to have tended bar before. He had only been there two weeks and hadn't learned the (short) wine list yet. So staff training is zero. The calamari were a hefty portion but unremarkable, as was the too-small dose of bland sauce. Lasagna was a single-serving dish featuring flat pasta and indistinct goo. Fettuccini Bolognese was barely warm, sweet, and short on meat. The menu is so big that you know there's a lot of thawing and re-heating going on in the kitchen. It's ordinary, that's all. We only tried basic, traditional dishes, which should be easy to execute. Maybe it's too much to expect inspired Italian cooking in Roswell, NM. We should have gone to the bull-riding competition and had corn dogs and funnel cakes. read more

Great service, delicious food! All the reviews for the calamari are beyond spot on, it is hands down delicious. Their salads are tasty and a good size to go with the meal and the lunch portions are very generous. I loved how attentive and sweet Miranda, our waitress, was. My husband enjoyed the chicken parmesan and my kids and I enjoyed the fettuccini Alfredo. We will definitely eat here again the next time we are passing through Roswell. read more

I love Italian restaurants so I thought I'd give this place a try. Should've stayed in that night and saved my money. Ordered bruschetta as an app, chicken piccata for the entree, a $10 margarita as a drink and a creme brûlée as a dessert. Bruschetta came out fast, and I can understand why. The topping came out on a plate, pieces of bread surrounding a small bowl of the tomato topping. I've ordered bruschetta before and never had it presented this way. So I rationed out the toppings evenly over the bread. It could've been better with some balsamic vinegar drizzled on the bread and some mozzarella into the mix, but I suppose it was okay. The chicken piccata wasn't any better. The chicken was very bland tasting, no flavor at all. It was almost as if it sat in flour water. All I could taste was the horrible oil and garlic spaghetti, it was greasy and overpowering in taste. If you do order this, ask for regular spaghetti so maybe you can enjoy the lemon butter caper sauce with all the oil and garlic. Don't order the creme brûlée. It is served in a large container but the portion is very small. The thickness in the middle of the creme brûlée couldn't be more than a quarter of an inch and that's including the burnt sugar coating on top of it. I took a photo of the disappointment and didn't finish the rest. I was sure the waitress would've asked me what was wrong with my dessert after seeing how I only took one very tiny spoonful but nope, she took the sad dessert away. $40 later, left disappointed and unsatisfied. read more

Pasta Cafe is a decent restaurant in Roswell. I had their Chicken Bella (pan-fried chicken covered in goat cheese with noodles in a garlic sauce, with lemon sauce mixed it). I thought it was pretty yummy! My kids had mac and cheese, but sad to say it might as well have been Kraft mac and cheese, so not that good. I was really hoping an Italian restaurant would have better mac and cheese. My husband had a porcini ribeye steak covered in mushroom sauce with veggies meal, but he said it tasted like the steak had been boiled first and then covered with the mushroom sauce -- barely any flavor at all. We stopped by on out trip through Roswell. We ordered a variety of food spaghetti, chicken parm, meatball hero and chicken Marsala. Everything was fantastic and cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly. The prices are less than what a typical Italian lunch or dinner would cost at Olive Garden or similar. The portions were large enough to satisfy a hungry person or enough to have leftovers if desired. Definitely a good variety of food to choose from. Definitely stopped by this restaurant when we were visiting Roswell on a road trip. This is basically an upscale Olive Garden but the prices are very affordable. If you are craving Italian food, I definitely recommend this place. I ordered their special which was a Chicken Tortellini with their marinara sauce. It is a very simple dish and they executed it very well. They even had drinks in the restaurant which were also yummy. My server was very polite to me, my friends, and my dog. If you are traveling with dogs, they can seat you outside on the patio so, that can be an option. He brought out water and Grizzly was very welcomed. When we asked for a booth she sat us down and i noticed the table was lopsided . When i asked the waitress about it she was like " are you sure? I think we just need to push it all the way back" she pushed it back and it didnt help at all. We switched to a different booth. This booth was lopsided as well. I asked the waitress if they were all like this.she said no its not lopsided it just looks that way because of how the table is set.after my kids told her about six times each that they wanted dr pepper she walked away and i noticed that all of my kids crayons were rolling off the table and i wasnt crazy after all. I wondered how many times a day she went through all that nonsense .Poor girl. I was really annoyed at that point because here i was about to wine and dine my kids (who waste everything) and our dang table cant even sit up straight.it was my fault , we should have just gone to McDonald's. When the food got there i really started feeling a little better, my kids were able to split a pizza and it looks super delicious.my kids tore into the pizza and on their first bites the entire piece of cheese came off and they both started whining. I was like wtf seriously. So i tried a piece of the cheese and as i chewed it all the grease from it dissolved down my throat and the cheese i was chewing just would not break apart.i felt like i was chewing plastic and had to spit it out.im a cheese lover i really wanted to swallow that, but my stomach was like. Noooo......dont do it.my chicken parm looked like it came out of a lean cuisine box.it tasted good but the appearance really pissed me off. The bread they brought out in the beginning looked like blown up oyster crackers and they were cold.the garlic/ oil that came with it looked like sea weed floating in crisco. My boyfriend and I are currently on vacation for Spring Break and stopped in Roswell for the extra terrestrial culture and some good, local food. My immediate impression of Pasta Cafe among walking in was, "wow,". Dimly lit, quiet, and cozy, we knew we were in for a treat. Our waiter was incredibly nice and although the restaurant was mostly empty (this is obviously more of a dinner attraction) he gave us our space and did not hover. My boyfriend and I split a "Godfather" pizza, which was basically a Create-Your-Own option. I got mushrooms and onions on my half, and he had pepperoni on his. The food was PHENOMENAL! The sauce tasted fresh and tomato-y and not like pizza sauce from a jar or can. The crust was soft and flavorful, and it was perfectly portioned. YUM YUM!! The bathrooms were beautiful as well. Cozy, elaborate floor plan, and beautiful murals on the walls fitting the rest of the restaurant. While we may have come for aliens, Pasta Cafe was definitely our favorite part. :) read more

Interesting service. A different server drops off a decanter for our wine. So we decant the bottle of wine. We refill our own wine glasses. Seriously question any allergy training that anyone but the manager Rick has received. The sauteed mushrooms were cooked in onions which we explicitly told the first server. Truly disappointing meal.
