I visited this restaurant a couple of months ago with a friend, we were around Wynwood and were craving pasta and we thought it was a good time to try this place. We started with some rosé and the server brought us some bread. The rosé was refreshing and the bread was ok. We went directly for what we came for which was pasta. I ordered the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, and it was creamy but a little too greasy. I thought it was a small portion but I couldn't even finish it. My friend ordered the Tagliatelle allá Bolognese and she loved it! It looked small too but she couldn't finish it either! For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, and that one was a big wow! Delicious! The best one I have ever tried! Creamy with the right coffee amount, so so good! Pasta e Basta was recommended to me by a close friend who said she had the best Carbonara of her life here. INCREDIBLY beautiful, chique, and calming restaurant interior. I loved all the black and white pictures on the walls and the warm dim-yellow lighting scheme of the restaurant. The restaurant staff was very welcoming, professional, efficient, and kind. I had to modify my party size for the reservation a couple times through the phone and they were very accommodating and nice about it. The food was also quite good and everyone in our party was super happy with their pasta. I got the Paccheri Al Tre Pomodori. I will definitely be coming back here again to try some other pastas. The place is very small and you will need to make a reservation on Resy prior to going on a weekend. Your whole party must be there to be seated together since they only give you an hour and 30 mins to eat. We sat in the patio in the back with the stormtrooper looking fans lol. The bread is sourced by Concept a bread wholesaler that I couldn't find any info online. We started with the meatballs and the they were good. The tagliatelle bolognese was the best dish. The gnocchis were ok but lacked sauce and potions are tapas size. The Rigatoni carbonara was way too salty and also had barely any sauce. The sauciest plate was the Paccheri Pomodoro. As for desert the fig crostata was underwhelming but the basque cheesecake was really good. Overall, it's a new place and will need to work on a few things. read more

A MUST visit when you're in Miami. This has to be one of the best pasta places I've eaten at in a long while. There are so many good Italian places in the city but none of them are making pasta the way this restaurant does. The service is very nice, everyone is pretty welcoming and the restaurant is intimate. The manager is checking up on everyone and ensuring that everyone is happy. I have only been here twice once sitting at the bar once at the tables - but I'll def be returning. I will say making a reservation or walking in is your best bet, I once called for a table they said they were full and 10 min later I walked in and got a table; but they are usually full. They also have a lunch menu for 22$ which is a great value for what they are serving. This may be one of the better restaurants that have opened in Miami in a while. read more

Had previously ordered the rigatoni Bolognese for delivery and it was delicious. Decided to go to have lunch to order the rigatoni carbonara. It is a very small space parking is near to impossible and now I know why my friends either do takeout or have it delivered the rigatoni carbonara was a disappointment. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly, but it was swimming in the carbonara sauce and the guanciale was served with pieces very undercooked. Clearly they took the review from the infatuation to heart and now the dish is over salted. I might order again takeout, but I certainly would not plan to go and eat there given the tiny dining room, which by the way, I felt like it was exceedingly hot inside, but maybe that was because they seated me next to the kitchen; and it is very noisy. The service was unremarkable. No one on the staff asked me if I enjoyed it or if I needed anything, but they are very good about filling up my sparkling water. read more

My fiancé and I were really excited to try this new restaurant out near Wynwood so we made a reservation. We got there about 2 minutes before our reservation and the hostess greeted us and immediately looked us up and down and tried seating us outside. (Mind you it's Miami, so ofcourse it was raining.) the outside is covered but it was extremely humid and hot. There was available and open seating inside but she insisted we sat outside by ourselves (yeah there was no one else outside) we kindly ask to sit in one of the open tables and she told us that we could not sit inside because there was a big party of 6-8 arriving.. WE HAD RESERVATIONS..??? She made no sense the other people were not even there.. I am not one to feel judged or less than but this hostess definitely made us feel as if she was being racist to my fiancé and I. We will not be ever returning this establishment. DO BETTER. Update: The owner of the establishment Nico reached out to me personally to apologize for this incident and explained the hostess had only been working there for 3 days. Hidden away down a side street lies this gem. Quaint and cozy vibe with attentive servers. We waited a little past our reservation time as the place was crowded but the food made up for it. Started with a nice glass of Italian red wine and the bread basket with olive oil was good. My date and I shared the short rib ragu pasta and the Gorgonzola gnocchi. Both delicious! Only knock I have (and I'm still rating 5 stars)... a family was waiting for a table near the bar, kind of in the middle of a restaurant, and the daughter had her dog. It was NOT a service animal. When they were seated in the patio area, they walked through the restaurant and the dog actually brushed up against my leg. Management should be on top of this as (even though I'm a dog owner), dogs should NOT be allowed anywhere near food. It's unsanitary and probably violates some health code. What a cute spot!! Saw so many videos online about this spot so decided to stop in to try it out. First off, this is a very small spot so you NEED a reservation because it it booked and busy. Even with a reservation we had to wait over 20 minutes past our reservation time because they are that busy! Service is great, the manager works hard and you see the entire staff busy and taking care of guest the entire time! The ambiance of this spot is so clean and trendy. Very pasta but make it trendy and modern vibe. The tables settings are clean and crisp and the chairs are all white giving this spot a very upscale feel. Price wise, for miami it's very well priced. Average price point, but the food is actually delicious so it makes it worth the money. Now the best part, THE FOOD! We had the meatball special and the sauce they use is AMAZING. I can't even explain what the sauce was other than it was mouth watering good. The carbonara pasta was delicious and such a good portion for one. Now the lasagna, we had both the meat and veggie options and they were both sooo good! The veggie lasagna stole the show in my opinion, with a creamy sauce and perfect veggie ratio, it was perfection. They give you bread with your meal and they are not holing back, every time that bread basket was empty and new one was right behind it. Overall such a good little spot and worth both a try and the money! Beware of parking though, it is in midtown and it is all street parking so you might what to get there a little early to find a spot not to far away. read more

The menu is primarily pasta with a few apps and a good wine list. We started with La Scarpetta which is their focaccia bread served with your choice of bolognese or cacio y Pepe sauce. Really enjoyed the bread & the sauce was flavorful. For my main, I had the Paccheri al tre pomodori and I cannot recommend it enough. The pasta tastes fresh and the sauce is to die for. We were there for a birthday celebration and they brought us a tiramisu but with no plates or silverware and we had to wait 10 minutes just to get a hold of someone so we can start eating. Then another 20 minutes just so we can get someone's attention to pay. I love the paccheri, the lasagna, and the tiramisu. They are delicious. The paccheri is easily the pasta I crave the most in this city.

The food was decent, though the pasta wasn't particularly memorable. The ambiance was fine, but the service left a bit to be desired. We felt a bit rushed throughout the meal, and the host didn't seem very welcoming she chose not to speak English with us even though she seemed to understand it, which made communication slightly awkward. Plastic pasta?! Yup, let me explain. First of all, the restaurant is lovely. We could tell before we walked inside. When we did enter, we were met by a rather aloof, standoff-ish hostess. Since this is the first impression of a restaurant's service, we were a little put off. Once our food arrived, our hopes were up. My cacio e pepe with truffle ($38) was really good, but the portion was rather small. I was hungry after, almost like I hadn't eaten. Then my boyfriend found a piece of plastic inside of his ravioli. Not a small piece either. The server apologized and gave us an option to replace it or take it off the bill - not both. We were extremely disappointed with the handling of the situation and decided not to even get dessert. We just paid and left, both hungry. I'm sure this was not indicative of their food quality and the owner did apologize, but with such a plethora of Italian food here, I see no reason to come back to a place with subpar service and tiny portions. read more

Now, I find it very disrespectful to charge 18% tip for a table of 2. Tip is earned not taken. There is a good staff, the server is good, there's no need to make customers feel robbed when the bill comes. Finally, they let people come in with dogs and have them sit at the table. I ate at Pasta e Basta tonight and am so glad I did! This is a hidden gem in Miami! I sat at Mirko's table and he steered me in all the right directions. I started with the Vitello Tonnato which was so light and satisfying. Then I had the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe with truffle which was unbelievable. I also had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese which was done to perfection. At that point I was too full for dessert, but I'll report back on that next time. Highly recommend this spot! read more

I'm always hesitant to venture out for Italian food in miami with the many trips I've taken to Italy and my love for their cuisine but finally a little piece of Italy has opened in miami tucked in the heart of midtown and I could not be happier. Just one bite of my carbonara immediately took me back to dinning in the little streets of Rome. The pasta itself was cooked to perfection and the guanciale was crisp. The service was impeccable with all employees consistently coming around to ensure if we needed anything. The decor was simple but gorgeous really highlighted the beautiful concrete walls and soothing music to leave you relaxed to enjoy your meal.
