We went on a Pasta Mia Leave of Absence once we discovered the place across the street. But sometimes you've just got to dine in for pizza. So before my kids' class we decided to stop in -- thinking I had an hour so it should be fine. Especially since we were the only people in there. I informed the guy that sat us -- well scratch that, we sat ourselves. The server came out about 5 minutes later. We ordered. I let him know that we had to be out in at least 40 minutes and he said no problem -- that the pizza would be ready in 10 minutes. Well about 20 minutes later the server noticed we were still sitting there. I asked him if I could pay at that time, and also have the pizza put in a box since I knew getting that done close to the time we had to leave would probably stress me out. Finally we got the pizza. Something is different in the sauce from what it used to be. I think it's that there is not as much garlic. But here is what I will say, THE CRUST WAS AWESOME. Again, THE CRUST ON THE WELL DONE PIZZA WAS AWESOME. So kind of a mixed bag this time. We will still return every now and then. read more

It's time for an update! Pasta Mia remains my favorite Bartlett pizza place at a reasonable price. The pizza is consistently good. The quality ingredients are one of the biggest reasons that we order from here regularly. I know what to expect when I call the folks at Pasta Mia and I like it! This place has been awful for years and it's still awful. Same bland food, burned pizza, and bad and rude service. Only now they've added outside seating and either a band or music that is so loud you can hear it clearly a block away with the widows closed. I try to avoid bad experiences so from reading some of the other not-so-nice reviews I saw the the problem was mostly with the management and with delivery side of things, so we ate in. We went on Tuesday evening. The food was great, as described and it was hot. The bread was great and fresh. My son loved the spaghetti and meatballs, husband had the spaghetti and white clam sauce and ate the whole huge portion. I had the crab Mac and cheese, also delish! I love the creamy italian dressing. We are a family of 3 and eating out is a special treat so I will let nothing will ruin our night out if I can help it. I had a positive experience here regarding both service, atmosphere, and food! I recently came in on half price pasta day with a friend. I was first struck by the homey feel of the place. Family photos on the walls, red checkered table cloths, candles, it was quiet but not too quiet... it was lovely! We were seated right away, and perused the menu. Pasta Mia has a good selection of food and we settled on cheese ravioli and eggplant Parmesan. Once food arrived we were thrilled by the portion sizes. The cheese ravioli was flavorful and delicious. I love their marinara sauce because it isn't too acidic. It tasted homemade! My friend enjoyed the eggplant parm too! We were too full for dessert, but the dessert menu looked great. We attended a children's birthday party at Pasta Mia on a Saturday afternoon and had a really enjoyable time. Décor: The outside is a bit unassuming as it is in a strip mall, but inside they do a solid effort of making it feel as authentic as they can. The party "area" (it was not a separate room) was the perfect size for our gathering and the rest of the place is a decent size too. I was told that they just recently expanded their space so that must have been where we were located. Bathroom: clean and inviting Staff: All of the waitresses were johnny-on-the-spot with anything that we needed. Great service! Food: As you might imagine, we had pizza. I will not go back to this restaurant. 9 of us ordered our food. They brought our two of the entrees while the rest of us sat there for 15 mins waiting for our food. Mean while our friends were done eating by the time we got our food. So my family packed the food to go when it arrived. I complained to the owner and his response was " we are backed up." But the people behind us a table of 7 ordered the same time and where done eating before we even had one entree. Our appetizer was brought out while the other 2 people had their entree. April 1, a wedding rehearsal was set up for 28 to 30 people. They were to arrive around 8:00 after the rehearsal. They were charged for 35 people. They made the pizzas at 6;00 and served them to us at 8:30pm! They called us liars and threatened to have the 30 people removed. They also told the bride to be - IF YOU PAY CASH, WE WON'T CHARGE TAX???? Isn't this illegal? We had cardboard pizza. We knew the pizzas were old because the crust was extremely hard and the pepperoni was curled. They had a set price of 11.95/person. When the bill was presented at the beginning of us arriving, the price was 13.95/per person. They said we told them 6:00pm. The rehearsal was at 6pm in Elmhurst. Was the first time my friend and I stopped in and it was pretty empty but their was the city festival going on as well. Our waitress Natalie was kind, making sure to ask us if we needed anything from time to time. Ordered pizza take out twice from here now. Both times the pizza was really delicious and it came in the time they said it would take. We have only ordered one pizza from here, but is truly different and super yummy. It is their Sausage Arugula. It is a non traditional pizza since there is no red sauce. It has an olive oil base, topped with sausage, arugula, tomatoes, mozzarella, and a balsamic glaze. The crust is perfectly thin and crunchy and holds up all of those toppings. I do wish there was more balsamic, but I have a feeling it is probably better fresh out of the oven and not when its been in a car waiting to be delivered. BUYER BEWARE ! Horrible Business practice ! I DO NOT RECOMMEND Pasta Mia to anyone. The owner of this restaurant is also very rude & disrespectful. I have been a long time patron of this place, but I will no longer come here or recommend it to anyone. My wife & I come here or order out from here throughout the years. Sometimes we each order an entree, sides & drinks. One time earlier this year we shared an entree & a side without incident. Tonight, we shared an entree & side and ordered drinks. When our bill came we were charged a $5 "SHARED PLATE FEE". I asked could this be removed please, we have never been charged this before & the owner said "No, it's his policy" I asked why the waiter did not warn us of this policy when we ordered and also asked if there was somewhere on the menu where this "policy" was listed or a sign somewhere & he said "all restaurants charge a shared plate fee" I said not all do & that is a fact. Then in-front of other customers, grabbed my bill and said "how many people did you have, two, & you ONLY ordered 1 entree, a side and 2 drinks" Threw the bill back at me and continued to say "its his policy" I asked other customers standing in line if they knew of this policy & they shook their head no. I wasn't charged a shared plate fee the last time I was there, so why now ? I never knew of this policy. Made me feel like I was scamming the place or something. Do you charge a "shared plate fee" if two people sit down & order a single pizza ? Seriously ask if you go here before you order. Is that considered a shared plate fee ? What other policies do you have that are not published or told to your customers ? I consider this un-fair practice and very poor customer relations. And for $5 charge, for a long-time patron of this place, the rude owner decided he could care less if I spend another dime there. That is how much he cares about his customers and business apparently. To be fair, & I told him this, it's ok if you have this policy, but only if customers are made aware of it up-front. Through your waiter when we ordered & told him up-front that we were sharing or through a sign or through a statement on the menu of the policy. At least then I could make an informed decision. We are newish to the Bartlett area and stumbled upon this place by accident. It's a little tucked away but still close enough to the downtown area. The strip mall it's located in is behind a Walgreens and by the Post Office, in case you were curious. It's not a huge fancy establishment, it's kind of like half a bar and half a sit and eat but don't stick around there's only a handful of tables kind of place. I would call it a family restaurant though even though there is a bar vibe. A lot of kids and families are there when we drop by, so its all good! The first time around we were not impressed at all by the food. We got some kind of pasta dish, I think I got the chicken marsala which was obviously not too memorable. I mean pasta IS in the name? It tasted very oily, bland and something that I could easily whip up...which trust me folks is not a compliment! We left full but not that impressed. I don't know what it was, maybe laziness and not wanting to venture out too far, and we were starving...but we decided to try Pasta Mia again, this time we ordered a pizza. Because At least half of the patrons in the place always had a pizza, so we followed their lead! I'm so glad we did too because it was a-freaking-mazing! Really, this is now one of my favorite places to go for Pizza, that isn't ridiculously expensive for a bland pie. The crust is thin, but not paper thin, and the ingredients fresh. We have been going to Pasta Mia since they opened twenty-plus years ago. We have done it all there: ordered pizza, sandwiches and entrees, both eat-in and delivery. We have also ordered their catering over the years. Our most recent experience with their catering was last night when we had our whole family over for Christmas Eve dinner, including grown children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Everything was terrific. The delivery was prompt and the delivery man was helpful and courteous. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a variety of meat dishes (Italian Sausage, meatballs, Chicken Vesuvio) and a tray of both pasta and potatoes. The food was was a big hit with everybody. It was nice for my wife to be able to serve a good meal without spending the day cooking in the kitchen; the extra family time was very welcome. I know that we will gladly order catering from Pasta Mia again next Christmas Eve, if not sooner. I highly recommend their catering service. read more

Hmmm...we have been wanting to try this place and tonight we did. We won't be going back. We walked in with about 10 other people and we waited to be seated, as other grabbed menus and took seats, we finally determined that was normal. Grabbing 5 menus we took a round table. Later we watched as other were seated so...that was a bit confusing. Lighting...let's say it was intimate dark...hard to read the photocopied menus, luckily we have flashlight apps on the phones! I asked about specials for the night, our server explained that they were on the back, ok...he walked away and when he came back I asked if there were any other specials he said..."No." I then asked about half price pizza's...oh "Yes, that is a special tonight." There were five of us and we ordered two pizzas a plate of chicken fingers, a stuffed artichoke and a cup of soup. After about 20 minutes we got our water and I noticed that another table had gotten bread, I asked about that and was told it would be right out...that went ok. At that time the soup and salad arrived, the salad was not drained and full of water the soup was ok. While waiting we could hear someone, yelling at the staff in back from the front of the house...that was interesting. No cursing so no Ramsay effect but it still seemed a bit unprofessional. I know it happens but I have only heard it in the house a few times. The pizzas came out at the 35 minute mark, they were warm and they were prepared correctly...but there was nothing special about them. We had ordered the Hawaiian and the Cheezy Beef...eh, they were ok. The Cheezy was full of a lot of giardiniera and a little beef. The beef was not tasty at all. The Hawaiian was not bad, a little salty but we have had worse. We had to ask after 10 more minutes about our chicken fingers and our stuffed artichoke. They arrived, the chicken fingers did not excite the diner and the artichoke was more artichoke flavored bread. The bill came and there were a few errors, the pizzas were not half off, I had to get that corrected and the price we were billed was different from the menu we had been given, off by a dollar...we let them keep that one. Really solid Pizza/Pasta joint near downtown Bartlett. The restaurant seating area is relatively small, but that doesn't keep people from packing the place on a busy Friday/Saturday night. As you might gather from the name, the pasta is a major draw here. The servings of largely Italian-based pasta dishes are very generous, and should almost automatically be accompanied by a to-go container. The pizza here should definitely not be overlooked, as it's also very decent. If you're looking for a quick lunch, stop in and order a slice and they'll cut a generous slice out of a finished pizza on presentation on their large serving counter. They'll give it a quick blast in the oven and pack it up for you and you're on your way. If you have the time to fight the crowds on a weekend, the fresh pizza is really the way to go. I've had a good experience with it nearly every time. Pasta mia is very popular with local kids sports teams after games, and it's not uncommon for big crowds to roll in/out as their evening events finish up. read more

We were a party of 7, so we waited a while for a table. No big deal, it was expected. After 10+ min of sitting at the table, no server had acknowledged us. I wrote down our drink order and brought it to a gentleman I believe was an owner, perhaps a manager. Our drinks arrived and we ordered a pizza, a pasta dish and an appetizer. About 20 min later the rest of our party (2 people)arrived and 2 more pasta dishes were ordered. In the meantime, a salad arrived and we had no silverware at the table so I went and got them myself as I had little faith in our server returning any time soon. No bread was brought out so, someone from our party hot up and sought out someone to get us bread. It was brought without plates so I went and go those myself as well. From order to delivery, the pizza took 1 hour 10 min. I had approached the manager/owner and let him know the issues at hand about 10 min before the pizza arrived. His response was mostly a dead stare at me. The pizza shows up but the appetizer and pasta ordered at the same time was nowhere to be found. I found a different manager and let him know the above issues. He fully acknowledged the exorbitant time it's taken for our food. About 15-20 min later all pasta dishes arrive. It was almost an hour and a half for fettuccine Alfredo to be brought to the table. Thank god the band was fun and lively. By now we're all just irritated as hell.. One person in our party imediately asked for a to go box. Can't blame him. Who wants to eat lasagna at 9:15 at night? Our server never, not once, came back to check on us. So when I needed a to go box I had to go find it myself as well. I asked the server who got it for me to please bring our check. Our server brought it out and let us know the pizza had been comped. This is where I kinda lost it. All other interaction with management was even tempered, and understanding because from 1992 to 2011 I was a server, bartender, manager and corporate trainer in a variety of different restaurants. I fully understand that sometimes, things just fall apart But this. There was nothing about this experience that was ok. I approached the manager/owner and let him know comping the pizza was not ok. I have NEVER EVER asked for or expected anything from a restaurant when my service was sub par. The response? "we were busy and this is the best I could do" Um. No. This was not the best, this was the least you could do. I let him know he was aware of the issues we were having and he never came to the table to check on us. The second manager was aware and never checked in with us. Our server was abundantly aware the kitchen was backed up and never came out to tell us anything and ignored the basic needs of her customers. I went back to the table and everyone just wanted out if this nightmare of a night. I tip, on average 30%. I was a single parent for several of my years of serving. I know what living off the whims of others is like. On an $81 check, we left $5 and only because I understand what tip share is and how much leaves a servers pocket to bussers and bartenders. The server came back to get her money in very short order. We let her know we'll hand it over when we leave. (We paid cash) She came back again for the check and again we let her know we will leave it on the table, we weren't ready. Now, the food and everything else The band, awesome! Double dough pizza, average. Shrimp scampi linguine, pretty good. Lasagna, pretty good. Fettuccine alfedo, average. Side salad, very wet. So wet in fact that my creamy Italian dressing had virtually no flavor due to the watering down from the soggy lettuce Beer, cold. I went there for the first time the other night. I had a 7pm reservation but was not seated until 7:25pm. Pros: the food was tasty and there was live music, which was quite good. The waiter was working his butt off (but they were completely understaffed). The patio/parking lot set up was nicely (but the tables were not all spaced 6ft apart). The cons: They were way understaffed. Our waiter had 8 tables and had to bus them too. Because of this, the service was horrible. The appetizer came out after the salad. The wine came in a plastic cup instead of a wine glass. I asked for a glass and was told they are in the dishwasher. We waited 25 minutes to order anything. Out of 8 waitstaff, only 2 had on their masks on correctly, covering their nose AND mouth. The others had their masks on under their chin or under their nose. The man who was the manager didn't even have a mask on at all, which clearly sets the tone for the workers that it doesn't matter and he doesn't care about the well being of others. They are part of the covid problem. Also, I would have enjoyed having another drink and listening to the music longer but an entire little league baseball team, their parents, and siblings all came in and surrounded every table by where I was sitting. The restaurant quickly turned into a zoo and became completely unenjoyable so we left. What a shame. They have a nice patio/parking lot area but the whole experience was a disorganized disaster. I would not go back. I can hear live music outside at other restaurants that have much better service and follow COVID guidelines to help keep people safe. read more
