Definitely would come back for the house made pastas! Texture was perfect and so delicious!!! I would not order the pizza, although the flavors were great, it was way too thin! Even the crust was so thin that it just cracked like a potato chip. Maybe it's their style of pizza abd I totally understand to make it different but it wasn't for me or for the rest of the party. The service was welcoming and the host or she even maybe the owner that sat us down was very friendly and helpful. She gave us a warm welcome energy when we arrived. But our server and the rest of the staff were very bland. Would definitely go back for the pastas! Yummm!

Perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion in Half Moon Bay! We came here for dinner and were immediately impressed by the beautiful ambiance. The restaurant is aesthetically stunning, with an open kitchen where you can watch multiple chefs making pizzas, preparing desserts, and crafting dishes right in front of you, it really adds to the experience. We started with the tempura stuffed ricotta squash blossoms and the pea & fava dish. The pea & fava was incredibly flavorful, made with French feta, lemon zest, and mint, it was absolutely extraordinary and one of my favorite dishes of the night. Everyone raved about the pizzas, so we had to try one. We ordered the Spicy Rock Shrimp Pizza, entres included Moon Chicken Parmesan, and Ravioli. Their pizza crust is hand made and very thin and soft. Every dish was delicious, and there wasn't a single disappointment. Their drinks were great too. We had a reservation and were seated immediately with no wait. The only downside was the seating arrangement. Our table for five was quite long, making it feel less intimate and comfortable since we were seated far apart. The customer service was excellent throughout the evening, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant with amazing food, beautiful décor, and outstanding service. We'd definitely return for another special occasion!

Monday and Tuesday evenings has live piano while you dine! If not dining you can also sit at the bar and enjoy a drink. I sat right next to the piano, Terry the pianist was friendly and taking song requests and it was a good time. Fantastic Food , music, beautiful space, exceptional service. Def recommend

Came here to celebrate Mother's Day with treasured family. The place was filled with lots of other families celebrating Mother's Day as well, but we were able to get a nice table that didn't feel crowded. Unfortunately service was pretty slow, likely related to it being a packed restaurant. We managed to get our orders in after 30 minutes of wait then finding a staff member, but after then we were more attentive and proactive about making sure our table wasn't forgotten again. The food was interesting. It was too oily for my tastes, which is likely a direct result of my choices to get a brown butter-based butternut squash ravioli and friend green tomatoes. Something to be aware of when selecting your own menu choices (something I wish our party had more carefully considered, especially since someone had to run to the bathroom an hour later). A lot of the negative experience here is hopefully explainable due to the special circumstances of it being a special event. However, since we paid a premium for Mother's Day seating, and that the venue knew the number of guests to expect, that bumps my score from a 3 to a 2.

super yummy and cute spot in downtown half moon bay! the service was great, and the interior was so beautiful and cozy. the dishes are unique but practiced, so they were really good. i ordered the corn pasta, and it was sooo good! the corn was sweet and buttery and offered a great combination to the thick fleshy meat of the prawns, grilled to perfection and succulent! the moules frites were also so delicious! the fries were very homemade and so thin and crispy, piled high above the mussels, which were soooo well done! they were fat and generous inside their shells, and perfectly soaked up the flavor of the sauce. we ordered the tri gelato for dessert, and it was ok. it was pretty classic, nothing horrible but just nothing unique.

The best American Italian restrauant I've had. The outside looks very much like Bridges, that restaurant from Mrs. Doubtfire. Well decorated inside and out. The service is A+++++ our server new every detail about each dish. It's incredients, it's portion, everything. He was attentive and kind too, made us smile with jokes sometimes. The food was fantastic. We got the corn and crab soup (could have used more crab) the squash blossoms, well flavored, well stuffed, huge in portion, split the mushroom tagliatelle, and some kind of dessert. Stick to splitting one appetizer and one pasta and you will be full. Huge portions, low prices. Cannot recommend this place enough. It is not child friendly. If you have family in town or can get a sitter then this is worth it.

Despite the heavy rain, we traveled one hour to Pasta Moon for my celebratory Birthday luncheon. Where to begin? Location is very close to the shops and stores. But I love that Pasta Moon has a parking lot and the restaurant itself is very spacious. It's very charming and romantic, the lighting, the decor, and the space in between so that each table has privacy -- all very calming vibes. Very welcoming and relaxing environment. Our hostess was incredibly kind and bubbly. As we were first time diners at Pasta Moon; we asked about the entrees and she took the time to explain to us. We decided to go with the popular ones -- Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lobster Linguine and Tagliatelle Bolognese. All very popular entrees but my favorite was the Bolognese. I enjoyed trying the Butternut Squash Ravioli but it was my least favorite, the Lobster Linguine did have a fair share of lobster but the sauce was bland. I enjoyed the Tagliatelle Bolognese and that was my favorite entree. After lunch, we ordered the Mascarpone Cheesecake, this was so incredibly delicious. The best dessert ever -- cheesecake with chocolate sauce, with roasted nuts. Lovely dessert to end the meal! As we had celebrated my Birthday, before we left, our hostess gifted me a bag of biscottis. I appreciated the lovely gesture! I would definitely return in the future but I would try new entrees on the menu.

Came here around 7pm because I was in the area and severely craving butternut squash ravioli. The restaurant was beautiful and spacious, and our servers were so welcoming and kind. If you take a look at my reviews, you might notice that I have been on the search for the best pesto gnocchi and the best butternut squash ravioli. The ravioli here at Pasta Moon most likely takes the #1 spot. I'm not sure what the crumble on top of the ravioli is, but it almost tasted like brown sugar. I was very impressed with how well the squash and mascarpone blended and tasted together. I honestly wanted to come back the next day. I also tried the bolognese: the pasta noodles were evidently fresh and very delicious.

Took a drive down the coast and stopped to eat here. We sat outside with our dog, but inside looked very nice as well. Food was excellent. Drinks were good and strong. Service was ok. We waited a bit for menus and our waiter seemed a little snobby but overall once we ordered, the service was fine. We would go back. Pork chop and lasagna, excellent!

"Margherita pizza" it was so thin it was basically a tortilla with tomato sauce where is the cheese

Came here to celebrate my birthday. It came with complimentary bread which was fluffy. I got the pappardelle pancetta pasta which the waiter said had been on their menu the longest. The sauce was delicious it was creamy savory but not too sour like most red sauce pastas are. We also got a clam chowder which had real clams with the shell which we appreciated. The pizza was thin crust. The ambiance of the restaurant was well lit and spacious. They also had additional seeing in their green house like seating area which I hope to sit in next time. There were also cozy 2 seater booths perfect for a date. Large parking lot in the back as well. 5/5 pappardelle pancetta pasta 3.5/5 sausage pizza 4/5 clam chowder

Came here for a celebratory dinner with some family. It's a little bit of nicer spot and made celebrating an occasion feel more special. There are a bunch of different seating areas and the one we were in we had almost to ourselves. It was a little more quiet and closed off than the main dining room. There were four of us, and with so much on the menu we wanted to try, we opted to share a bunch of things from the menu. To start we got the Nectarine salad and Squash blossoms. Nectarine salad was a hit, and the squash blossoms were good, but not my personal favorite. For mains we got the Pappardelle Pancetta, Swordfish (special for the day), Spinach linguine with Manila clams, and Tagliatelle Bolognese. The Pappardelle Pancetta was one of the best pastas I've ever had. I was glad there was plenty of it to go around, because upon my first bite of it, it was favorite thing I had tried and I knew I'd be wanting a lot more of it. The Bolognese was also good and the pasta was cooked perfectly, but after having the Pappardelle Pancetta, it just couldn't stand up to it for me. The Spinach linguine with Manila clams was a little disappointing. The dish wasn't super flavorful and didn't feel all that cohesive. It did come with some big clams which was nice, but I would personally skip this one next time. Swordfish would've been a good size for 1 or 2 to share if you were getting other things as well. Fish is always hard to split amongst that many people. It was quite good though, as was the sauce it was served atop. Service was great, and after trying a few wines we found one we liked to enjoy the bottle of. Excited to some back and get the Pappardelle Pancetta again!

Would take out be available on Easter Sunday? I'm looking for a place to get some food before…

Does the restaurant require proof of vaccination?

No but there is outdoor seating with heaters and the restaurant has placed indoor tables distanced and the establishment is a large space

    Are dogs allowed here?

Dogs are acceptable when dining outside/patio. Service dogs are, of course, allowed to enter with their human parent. There is a neighborhood "stray" dog, a little guy, though, he loves to mark his territory near other dogs. It's funny. LoL.

Is the clam chowder gluten free?

The menu doesn't have a gluten-free Clam Chowder. They do have GF pasta and pizza. You may also suggest they add GF Clam Chowder to the menu. If enough people ask, they'll likely add it 🙃

Are there gluten free pasta options?

Yes, we have gluten free pasta, pizza and bread.

    Is there a kid's menu?

    Yes

    Are dogs welcomed?

    Yes! There is 1 table...inside!

No one seemed particularly enthusiastic about us being there. The man who seated us made me feel like I was bothering him, or that he simply had no interest in being at work. Our waitress was efficient but very mechanical--no real warmth or personality. For dinner, we tried the Mortadella Salumi, the pappardelle with short rib, and a meat lover's pizza. The salumi was excellent, especially for the price. It was really more of a generous antipasto/salumi platter, with a nice assortment of accompaniments in addition to the meat. The pappardelle was the standout. The short rib was perfectly braised, the pasta was excellent, and the dish had a really nice truffle-forward flavor without being overwhelming. The pizza was just okay. I thought it needed more cheese, and I wasn't crazy about the flavor of the fried pork (or whatever the particular meat was). That said, the pizza dough itself was excellent. I also thought the pasta and pizza were surprisingly pricey for Half Moon Bay. The prices were comparable to--and in some cases higher than--what we pay for similar quality and portion sizes around Mountain View. Despite the lackluster service and pricing, we'd probably return for the salumi and to try some of the other pasta dishes.

Their Sicilian pizzas take about 30-40 minutes to cook, but they had this whole pizza available for by-the-slice so they just heated it up for us. If you're familiar with Detroit style pizza, this is similar. The crust is pillowy, soft, and herbaceous. The generous portions of sauce, cheese, and toppings are almost too heavy for the crust so you definitely need both hands to pick up a slice. The pizza is basically dripping with decadence -- normally the small is split into 4 slices but we asked them to split it into 6 -- definitely the right move. I have a smaller appetite and one and a half slices was more than plenty for me, while my buddy who has a much larger appetite had three slices. I definitely recommend asking for ranch and hot sauce if that's you're thing since they' really enhance the experience.

Verrazzano have definitely changed to cheaper ingredients, so cheap that we didn't even feel like finishing the pies. We always order the same combo, so the change was quite pronounced. The crust was sad, the cheese was different and tasted weird, the olives tasted like they were the cheapest tinned brand possible. Half the onions were raw. Such a comedown, and not worth the money now.

The service and cleanliness were the issues. I arrived with my wife and our 2 year old grandson for an early lunch and walked in about 11:01. Yelp said they open at 11am so I had no reason to think that would be an issue. The young woman at the register, whose name I did not get, seemed to be somewhat in charge as she was asking other employees to do certain things. I ordered when she was ready and went out to the patio table areas where the kids play area is. My wife asked me to ask them if there was a pooper scooper because there were a couple piles of dog poop on the play area grass. I went back to the register and just let them know there was dog poop out by the tables on the grass. She said she knew and would have someone clean it up soon. I said thanks. As I walked out of the restaurant and past the outdoor pick up window I hear her say to the other workers "you know what I hate is when people get here before we open and start asking me to clean stuff up." First, I wasn't early. You were open. Second, it's a health issue and I felt I was very nice in how I kindly let you know there was an issue that you would probably want to address. So I return to the tables and start to realize how unkept and dirt the whole place really is. Please see the attached photos. Where I probably wouldn't have left a review or photos before, the rude and incorrect comment about me letting them know there was dog poop where kids play before they eat made me decide this deserved a review. Please see the attached photos. The cashier/manager? at the very least deserves significant retraining. Maybe a list needs to be made of specific tasks a staff member is responsible for every day before opening and that staff member would initial that they completed the tasks. You know... 1) check for and clean up all dog poop on site. 2) wipe down all tables and benches. 3) clean up all trash, including all little bits of food, napkins, pens, etc off the ground. 4) check all napkin dispensers that they are full and tops are on and they are in the same place on all tables. The poop photo is the last one listed. I couldn't seem to get it first in the list. I didn't take photos of everything (more poop and trash) because I hadn't yet decided I would write a review. But here it is.
