BENVENUTO! New year! And a fresh review! I have had the opportunity to hit this spot for lunch with some friends a couple of times. SOLID lunch menu, and man can this place get hoppin! Service for lunch was good both times in. But be prepared like I said this place and get super busy. Dinner! MAMA MIA! We came in just in time, sat quick and ordered fast. Right after that, they went on a wait! ...... Crazy.... Were they all flowing me?!? Anyhow. The bruschetta de mama was good, spicy and all get out, be warned. My son killed the minestrone soup, it was the daily and very good. I had a great manicotti and added a side of the fennel sausage, the menu description for another item with it made me crave that..... Not going there. The sausage was good, however not grilled like it mentioned in the other menu item. This place makes near everything in house from what I was told, I'd wager it's true. I am very disappointed with the way my order was handled tonight. I ordered a rather large order through uber eats. The order went through, I was charged, then about 20 mins later I went to check the status of the order. It said it had been cancelled. So, I called the restaurant to see why. They told me they cancelled my WHOLE order due to one small detail! Why couldn't someone have called me? Seems completely unreasonable to have just cancelled without speaking to the customer first! read more

Pastini's continues to never disappoint my taste buds. My favorite is the Siciliano(?), at least I think that's what it's called. We celebrated my daughters college graduation , so there were 7 if us and everyone was happy with their meals! Definitely going to continue to be a regular Pastini patron for as long as they'll have me!!! read more

Off to a bad start it's 445 2 tables in the restaurant a manager 5 servers and no one came to greet me for close to 10 min I had to ask the manager if there was someone take care of my table the manager went looking for my server...... then I ask about any sparkling waters and he hand me a menu instead he should have rattled off a few options as opposed to just handing me a menu. To start, Pastini is NOTHING like Olive Garden. It just goes to show how little most people know about the food they eat and what good food actually tastes like. Every pasta dish is made to order and from scratch, including the desserts. As someone that has been in the service industry for nearly 9 years now I can guarantee that Olive Garden food is over processed and microwaved. Pastini prides itself in serving local food when available. The bread is from the Pearl Bakery and not a freezer so that right there would probably be a major reason why they "dont have unlimited breadsticks". I personally would rather have two quality pieces of bread than unlimited mediocre bread saturated in butter. Every Pastini I have been into has been cozy and inviting. Serving sizes are large and prices are extremely reasonable. Service is fast and food comes out hot and full of fresh flavor. Fabulous wine selections and cocktail menu. I recommend the Spaghetti con Gamberetti and Manicotti. The Lemon Pudding Cake and Chocolate Tartufo are fantastic desserts. read more

Talked to an employee named Mariana over the phone who became overwhelming rude and ignorant despite my calm attempts to clarify menu items and ordering online. God, I cannot stay away from this place. It's close to home, the waitstaff are friendly, and the food is great. At the new year they revamped their menu, updating some dishes and adding new ones. One of my friends is a waitress at another location of Pastini and has been shocked by how attentive the owners and managers of Pastini are--it seems like they really listen to customer comments and complaints and adjust accordingly, which is kind of cool in my opinion. This place gets pretty crazy on weekend nights so I usually try to pop in a little earlier or a little later and have never had a problem getting a table. When I've had to wait, the waitstaff brings drinks and is helpful and attentive. Garlic bread--good. Salad--good. Pasta--good. No complaints here! read more

Two of us enjoyed lunch today at Pastini. The wait person was terrific, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.Our pasta was excellent. The only negative issue is the hostess setting the table by placing the forks for us both by placing them while holding onto the tines. Had dinner at Pastini last night with my boyfriend and his friends wife and kids. Seems family friendly but could easily be a nice place for a date night although it is a bit loud. Food: We started with some tasty garlic cheese breadsticks for an appetizer. Came with a nice marinara sauce. We ordered two plates between three adults and two kids and still had a few left over (my boyfriend eats a lot though). I had the butternut squash ravioli for an entree which was tasty. I will say the ravioli were swimming in olive oil which was, to me, a con. They were literally sitting in a pool of it. My boyfriend had penne and meatballs which looked really good and he said tastes good as well. It looked like everyone enjoyed their meal and the sangria was lovely! No complaints on the food. Service: it gets pretty busy there so we had a 15 minute wait on a Friday evening. There are some shops around to go browse in including Powell's bookstore so it's easy to pass the time. Our waitress was friendly and professional. In general, it's a typical Italian American restaurant. Definitely a step or two or three above Olive Garden but not completely authentic yet still very tasty! read more

Would love to rate this place higher but it seems that i can't anymore. I went there for a late lunch around 2pm. It was slower than normal so the server was spread out to a lot of people. I love coming here, until they decided to raise the price up by quite a bit. For two people it cost us $44 even. Thats pretty high for a lunch. So we went through the prices and saw there charging almost $6 per side salad. The drinks were soda and costing about $3 each, and the main dishes were around $13 each without chicken. I asked the waiter if there was a problem and she replied with, "They just raised the rates because of minimum wage increase." I was surprised by the response, because the min. increase was $.10. So it seems the owners raised the price of salids up by $3 to make up the $.10 per hour. So it seems they will keep raising the price up by a lot to make them more money every year. Oregon is going to have $15 min wage soon, so by the time we get there it might cost $70 for two people to eat. Loved this place because of the cheap prices and great food, but if it's just keeps going up and the food stays the same. I think all find some other local place to eat. Sads days. read more

I had my first Pastini when I lived in Corvallis, so when I moved to this area I was excited to see there was one nearby. I first went with my cousin and her 2 year old daughter. Our waiter went above and beyond I've ever seen a waiter go! Eating at a restaurant with a 2 year old can sometimes prove difficult. He came to our table and went directly to making her happy. He brought out the crayons and coloring paper (which is expected, but he did it with pizazz and a kid-friendly energy). Then every time after that, he'd continue to converse with her and provide things to keep her busy. He made sure her food was brought first and toward the end of dinner when she started to get fussy, we asked if they served any fruits. Turns out they didn't, but instead of leaving it at that, he took the oranges and fruits they normally served with cocktails and beer and cut them up for us (free of charge!). To me, that's great customer service because we didn't even mind if we couldn't get the fruits. Needless to say, we left a hefty tip. read more

I've eaten here multiple times and the food has always been good and the service has been good. I ate here yesterday with my sister and my debit card was charged the incorrect amount (I was charged $12 more than I was supposed to be). I didn't realize it until today when I was reviewing my bank statement. I called the restaurant to let them know that I was overcharged and all the manager said was to call back in a few days if it doesn't work itself out. Uh what? How can something like this work itself out without anyone doing anything? Suffice to say I don't think I will be back for a while. read more

My wife and I get takeout from Pastini a couple times each month, mostly when I'm working late and don't feel like cooking. Overall, I am impressed with Pastini and would have no problem recommending it to friends and family. While the food is not going to be confused with anything you might get in NY or SF's Little Italy, it is nonetheless always tasty. Food quality is fine, and portions are perfect; not too large and not too small. The service has been fine the few times I've eaten inside. And the prices (most entrees are around $10 if memory serves me correct) are really quite fair. Overall, I am satisfied. While there is nothing especially remarkable about Pastini, the food is reliable and a decent value. If you want some quick, inexpensive Italian, Pastini will do the trick. read more

I have to admit that 90% of my score comes from the beyond-stellar service that I've had on my visits. I've been lucky enough to have Ted as my server most of the time. This guy is the bees knees for sure. Every dish/drink/dessert that he has suggested has been delicious! The artichoke appetizer is fantastic with the rustic grilled bread. My favorite main dish is probably the manicotti. Like I said, everything I've had has been delicious but the manicotti is especially tasty. The chocolate torte with the chocolate truffle in the center... oh wow. Just wow. Gotta try that for sure. The cocktails are all pretty good too! Our favorite is the hard blackberry lemonade (just the regular blackberry lemonade and we asked the server to add some liquor). This place has become a quick favorite for my friend and I. We've been at least once a week for the last few weeks and we are definitely going to continue the trend. :) read more

Great food. Almost no wait in line. So many yummy dishes to choose from. Clean appearance. Friendly and helpful staff. The only reason this place does not get the full 5 stars is because of the sneaky way they try to get you to pay an extra $5 for a simple little salad. Seriously folks, your jacking me on a side salad (Which is almost always complimentary at ANY other Italian place) is enough to send me to the Spaghetti Factory next time. The price on main dishes is the same plus I get salad, bread and ice cream for FREE. A little salad goes a long way. My boyfriend and I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a super cute and neat restaurant in a shopping plaza. We ordered the Eggplant Rollatini for our appetizer, and I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara. They were overall very delicious! The Rollatini was baked in marinara sauce with just the right amount of cheese, and the Spaghetti Carbonara was light and simple and the bacon in it was so so good! Only complaint is that the pasta was a little too oily and the bread comes without butter and with the main course - not before. Overall still super great. Would recommend! read more

Definitely not our best meal. I had a pasta with bacon, spinach, and cauliflower with a white Parmesan sauce. Pretty good flavor but sections of it were cold. Not just cooled down, but cold! The baked ziti my wife had was covered with a sweet Pepto Bismol colored sauce, and I think microwaved would better describe the "baking" process. Our service was great, tho. Love this place. When we want Italian, this is the first place we all think of. Every time we've been, the service has been so very friendly and professional. The staff know the menu very well and are always accommodating. Being a vegan and gluten free, it can be a challenge to find things to eat at restaurants, but they offer a few gluten free pasta options and the sauces are great. During the week, they have a special lunch menu that is well priced, particularly for the portion sizes, which are huge. The only thing I would change would be the brightness of the lights. They can be pretty intense, particularly when it's dark out. So hopefully a dimmer is in the future. Again, can't say enough about the serving staff. Nice work management. read more

This is an average Italian restaurant to go to. If you're in a rush and trying to get home to see your family and hungry, come here during happy hour and have some quick bites and maybe a drink. Their pasta doesn't need anymore seasonings, it's perfectly cooked. Their garlic and Parmesan bread is tasty. But the only issue is the wait. We waited about ten minutes for our waitress to lead us to our table. The wait here isn't that bad, usually popular on the weekend! Definitely recommended for new people who are trying something new, other than Olive Garden, or other Italian restaurant around this area. P.S. For the type of joint that it is its great. Now I'm not saying it gets fours stars in comparison to some of the best italian joints in Portland. I'm saying for a quick, cheap, lunch stop its definitely better than average. My favorite is Rigatoni Zucati, which usually I'm a meat fan, but this vegetarian pasta is my fav especially in the fall when I'm really in the mood for some butternut squash! Great experience this past weekend. Great customer experience from the moment I entered, to the service. The management staff seems to care very much about the team, and Jacob my server was pleasant. Location had great ambiance, wasn't too loud even with other patrons nearby. Food was delicious, I recommend getting the garlic bread instead of regular bread.
