So disappointed. Was so hopeful after reading reviews and seeing the menu. Service is warm and friendly but low quality. Food is average. Waited 45 mins to be seated. Other guests were seated before us. Not a huge deal since it was my first time there but eh, never a good feeling. While waiting at bar asked for an aperol spritz and was given Campari w champagne wo explanation. Ordered 3 appetizers and received 2. Mushroom soup was excellent. Wife had the lamb which was very good. I ordered the tenderloin medium rare and got medium well. It was replaced soon but the reduction had obviously been rushed and lacked flavor. We ordered a soufflé early on for dessert and were told shortly afterward they were out for the night. Yet we saw several of them going to other tables late in the evening. Waiter brought us some port wine and complimentary sweets as a peace offering but too little too late. Far too many disappointments for one night at their price point and location. For our final Miami Spice meal, my friend and I selected Pascal's on Ponce. The restaurant itself is super quant & the music is perfect! Think French renditions of classics & Edith Piaf standards. Really heightened the mood. All of the servers were SO lovely, friendly & attentive. We were promptly seated and the waitress brought over hot, fresh baked rolls. For my appetizer, i selected the ROMAINE & SPINACH SALAD (california romaine and spinach with red beets, feta cheese and champagne vinaigrette) & asked for no cheese. The greens & beets were very good but the dressing lacked flavor & basically tasted like salt water. My friend selected the Soup du Jour which was a delicious Minestrone with tons of vegetables. Very tasty! For my entrée, I selected the MEDITERRANEAN BOUILLABAISSE GRATINÉE (atlantic cod, wild salmon and mussels with braised leeks, bouillabaisse baked casserole) which came with a side of vegetable, wild rice to soak up the sauce. I also ordered a side of Pomme Frites (french fries!) & thankfully, they added just the right amount of salt to my dish which was a bit under-seasoned but the seafood was cooked perfectly. My friend chose the RISOTTO PRIMAVERA (risotto with ragout of seasonal vegetables and mascarpone cheese) which was DELICIOUS! I could easily give to this restaurant 0 start as should be. Never in my entire life I received a poor and indecent customer service like the one I received in this place. We had a reservation for 8:30 pm and we end up eating about 11ish pm. No one was polite to us, no one took our order, offered an apology, not even made eye contact with us. The food was ok, nothing out of this world. Also we were seated outside in the last table they had set, in front of a Law office. The table had no lights and we didn't have even the option to wait for other one inside since I picked outdoor when I did the reservation so they told us this when we requested that. I went here for the Miami spice lunch special with three friends. We all choose from the special at 23 per head. we had the beetroot salad - which was very pleasant but did not blow me away - I expected a bit more to be honest. this was followed by the vegetarian risotto - which I really loved. for dessert we had the strawberry mouse - which was nice, but I have had better, it was a little runny and not as firm as I would have preferred. In typical French style the portions are SMALL. the décor needs to be revamped imo - however there were lovely orange roses on the table that brightened the atmosphere some what! The service was so so - we had to ask for menus - they only gave one for the four of us! The male waiter seemed a little snotty and not over friendly. (Test: what do b) and c) have in common?) * * * French restaurants are also expected to have a handful of innovative dishes. (Just like classical concerts often have a "new music" piece.) My tablemate - a carnivore to the max - gave a huge thumbs up to the Australian rack of lamb. * * * As in many places, the prix fixe menu is a tremendous bargain compared to a la carte. Come to have lunch last week. The menu at their official website for lunch bistro special is outdated they have sightless changes for price and main course. Ambiance 2/5 I came at a sunny room but the inside is dark and with a smell of mold. The plate is not a clean and new which can reflect your face, it's old and with some unremovable drains so as my tissues. Besides , the knives and spoons can be seen aged, that is the most disappointed part for my lunch Service 4/5 Changed my plate and knives every time when I finished my dishes! Nice to go box! First time and last! Joined friends for dinner last night, my first time. I had heard excellent reviews and decided to try it. An average and expensive meal AND they showed us the door!! Apparently reservations are timed yet they didn't bother to share this when we made the reservation or on arrival. I find it interesting that they didn't bother to point out this restriction when we ordered a second bottle of Sancerre, some remaining in our glasses when we left. To add insult to injury the waiter brought us the check before we had the opportunity to order coffee. Once ordered he immediately brough it back. We paid $400+ for an average meal with an invitation to leave within 2 hours. To say they are not focused on customer service is an understatement! read more

Daniel, our server, was extremely attentive and made sure we were happy during each course. The manager came by to ensure we were pleased with our meal. We were the last guests to leave the restaurant and it started to pour rain, but thankfully Daniel walked us for one block to or car with umbrellas. (Wow!) Food: House bread was less than average. Cheese soufflé-not as great as I had expected, but it was good. Make sure you eat it with the spoon they provide and not the fork because you'll miss the sauce that gives it the right taste. Lamb: very well prepared Duck confit- I was surprised they served it as a drumstick for dinner. Hard to eat it with a fork and knife on the bone. You can't go wrong with fried duck. It was good and pretty average. While the potatoes that accompanied it were well flavored, the spinach lacked a good sauté in butter and seasoning. Desserts: Créeme brûlée-Must have at this place-yum!!! Apple tart a la mode-looks nice, but horrible. Very bitter and the vanilla ice cream lacked quality. Pascal has been around for many years, a place for classic French cuisine which I have been visiting it since my pre-Yelp days. It's a safe choice if you want a fancy night out, with classic good service, a nice bottle of wine (available in glass, half and full bottles, mostly French but plenty from other countries as well) and traditional French cuisine. I haven't been back for a while but decided to visit for Miami Spice. I totally loved my mushroom soup, with plenty of mushroom bites and creamy without being thick. I'd like the meat of the duck confit to be more tender and juicy, but then this is expected of duck confit, not a fresh duck breast. I'm glad I splurged for the souffle (for a hefty $12 extra), it's top notch, so light yet so rich. read more

Fantastic place. I've been to this restaurant several times now and the food is amazing. Everything my partner and I have tried is spot on, cooked perfectly and impeccably. During our various visits, we've tried the steak, the soup, the cheese souffle, the chocolate souffle, the chicken with truffle, the lamb, the fois gras, the cheese platter, the tasting menu--all excellent. Service is very attentive as well. They are there when needed without hovering. All in all, a very good experience every time. BTW, my spouse loves margaritas and he says Pascal's has one of the best ones in Miami. Recommend wholeheartedly and will go back for sure. read more

Enjoyed dinner at Pascal's On Ponce on Monday evening. Ordered off the Miami Spice menu and selected the Country Terrine and Mussels Marinere as appetizers, Muscovy Duck Breast A L'Orange and Boneless Braised Beef Short Rib for entrees, and Chocolate Mousse and Truffle Brie De Meaux for dessert. Quality Looking to enjoy a nice dinner to end the extended weekend, we decided to visit Pascal's On Ponce. Both my girlfriend and I took advantage of the Miami Spice promotion and selected an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For starters we went with the Country Terrine and the Mussels Marinere. The Country Terrine was served with pear, sweet onion chutney, and mustard. I felt like they overdid it a bit with the horseradish in the mustard, but the rest of the flavors really worked. The Mussels Marinere were my highlight of the evening. Absolutely delicious and the sauce was divine. Be sure to save some of your baguette to dip in the delicious sauce. For our entrees we went with the Muscovy Duck Breast A L'Orange and the Boneless Braised Beef Short Rib. The duck was solid, however a little dry even with the tasty sauce. The beef short rib came out as a rectangular slab, which initially made me nervous, but turned out to be great. The meat was very soft and tender, and worked nicely with the other flavors on the plate. For dessert there was a pedestrian Chocolate Mousse and the wonderful Truffle Brie De Meaux. The cheese platter was worth the extra fee with its unique mix of flavors to cap off a savory meal. Quantity I am always nervous that the Miami Spice portions will not be enough, but that was not the case at all. Both my girlfriend and I left the restaurant extremely satisfied with the servings provided. Value We stuck with the Miami Spice menu with just the Truffle Brie De Meaux thrown on as a supplement. I felt for the quality and the size, $39 per person was a bargain. They also seem to have prix-fixe and tasting menus throughout the year showcasing different dishes at high-end, yet still reasonable prices. Ambiance Pascal's On Ponce is located in Coral Gables, two blocks south of Miracle Mile. The small restaurant sits a little isolated from the restaurant heavy area. I honestly did not realize how many times I had passed it before. They had a few tables outside, but with questionable weather we opted for inside. Inside is simple, but very elegant. Every table is done up in white, several pieces of art sit on the walls, and the music is traditional French and classical. However, even with the perfectly set tables and refined design, it still carried a relaxed atmosphere. Somewhere you can enjoy a decadent dinner, yet not need to dress to the nines. Crowd When we arrived we were the only guests, however by the time we left the restaurant was completely full. It was a decidedly older crowd and there were a lot of large groups. Two parties of more than eight took up much of the space, but there were also several couples out to dinner. It is very much a Coral Gables crowd. Service The staff was friendly and extremely helpful at guiding us through the menu. Service was extremely formal and professional, even in the more relaxed atmosphere. Parking On a quiet Monday evening finding a nearby street spot was no problem. There are also valet and garage options in the area. Extra Pascal's On Ponce serves up solid French cuisine in a refined yet laid-back environment. The prices are a bit high, but the quality definitely matches. Went to Miami and stayed in a hotel in the Coral Gables area. Thanks to Yelp, I found Pascal's On Ponce and suggested it for lunch to friends (see Jean B's review). A lot of time has passed since I ate there and the writing of this review (been busy!), but I still remember how delicious everything was. We opted for lunch where prices are in the $15-20 range instead of $30-40 range for dinner. The restaurant is not too large but the wait staff is fairly attentive. The only downside to the meal was the time it took to receive our food (30-45 min) but in the meantime, we received complimentary samples of tomato fennel soup. I love it when restaurants give complimentary tastes - wins me over every time... Tomato basil soup is one of those things which I always try at restaurants whenever I see it and this was top notch - very rich and flavorful (5/5)! I almost broke down and ordered an entire bowl but opted to wait for my burger. I had the sirloin gourmet burger filled with braised short ribs. The burger was moist and delicious and came with a side of crispy fries (see picture). I don't think any of us spoke very much during lunch as we were busy inhaling our food. (5/5). We ordered TWO desserts (nougat glace and apple tarte tatin). Although I thought I would like the apple tart more, my favorite dessert was the nougat glace (4/5) and the apple tart was just average for me (3/5). Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the dessert to come out so consider ordering early. Overall, a great dining experience. The only frustrating thing with the meal was the time it took for our entrees / desserts to come out, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. If you're going to go for lunch, make sure you have plenty of time (at least an hour to two) - it's very much worth it though! read more

We were there on Saturday. The place was completely full. Ordered off the Miami spice menu and it was delicious. My wife had the salad appetizer and lamb entree, I had the scargot pasta and the duck. We both had the chocolate souffle (extra $12) for dessert. Everything was excellent, specially the duck and the souffle. Our server was Angelo and he couldn't be more attentive and nice. The meal was a little delayed, due to the place been very busy and he apologized several times, and comped us with a capuchino. We'll be back for sure! read more

I would give this place four stars but it just doesn't measure up to La Fresa Fransesa in Hialeah. It's a southern French style where as Pascal's is more... Northern? I'm not sure but the flavors were better & portions bigger with a smaller cost. Nothing at Pascals really stood out & for the price, I'd rather be eating veal with polenta and foie grass pastries for the same cost. Change up the menu & I might visit again. read more

One of the best meals I've had in Miami! Luckily this place is on Miami Spice and we got takeout dinner, which is an insane deal for this place at $39 each. I started with a shrimp and salmon cake in a delicious butter sauce, and they didn't skimp on the fresh fish. The salmon, pasta, and cauliflower was incredible. The sauce was insanely good and paired so well with the delicious pasta. The cauliflower and salmon were perfectly cooked. The strawberry chocolate mousse was the best part! It was so light and airy. The portions are obviously small because it's a nice restaurant but I was still satisfied. PLEASE come here for Miami Spice; this may well be the best deal on the list. read more

Food was good but not best, just very normal and definitely not for the price we payed. Dessert was somehow sad and overall, disappointing. Elegant and intimate French bistro on Ponce de Leon. Only a 5 minute walk from my maritime law firm, I hardly ever eat here. Today was a special occasion as I had the pleasure of my daughter's Sara Rose's company. Like most teenagers she is never hungry at meal time but starving at bizarre hours. I had the Nicoise salad which was sublime. OK, there are salades nicoises galore, that's for sure. This Nicoise is a textbook salade composed of: dressed potatoes, sliced tomatoes, a bouquet of string beans, slices of hard boiled egg, nicoise olives, tuna in the center, all drizzled with vinaigrette. Yum. We followed it by the best tart tartin in Miami. We were lucky that Chef Pascal was in the house and he made sure we loved every bite. Service otherwise was more sedate and distant. I went to pascals for the first time on Friday night. I went on a double date and overall I had a lovely experience. I took advantage of the miami spice deal. I had the lobster bisque as the appetizer, which was good and fragrant. I had the lamb navarin as the entree. the lamb was excellent, I didn't even need a fork to cut it, it fell apart. it also had very little fat, which meant I got more edible meat (a complaint I usually have with lamb is that it's too fatty and I don't get enough meat to actually fill me up, not here!). My boyfriend had the swordfish and I had a few bites. Oh my gosh, it was delicious. it was like butter. I've never had fish that good, and the portion was nice and big, at least 6 oz. Finally, our dessert. we got the pistachio creme brûlée which I was really looking forward to. but sad to say, I was disappointed. the creme brûlée had barely any cream, and a lot of crust. also, it was bright (artificial looking) green, which turned me off. I've had much better creme brûlée elsewhere. it wasn't bad, but wasn't great. the service was 4/5, pretty attentive, yet the waitress and assistants kept mixing up our dishes, which called for us having to exchange our plates with one another a lot. As others have said, it is a small place, and it can get loud. but that's what makes the restaurant so great to go to I think. it's intimate and very lovely. But, I wouldn't pay ~100$ a person to go there, that's just me. so thanks to miami spice for letting us try this place! read more

My daughter and I had a really nice evening at Pascal's on Ponce. Dinner was excellent. We started with with the Twice Baked Gruyère and the Crab Cakes. Both delicious. For the main course we tried the Scallops with Short Ribs and the Beef tenderloin. Also both flavorful and nicely presented. We finished with the Apple Tart and a Fruit with Madeline dessert, de-li-cious! Before the appetizers arrived, we received a little cup of something delicious to try (can't remember what my server called it lol), and also a little plate of small desserts was brought after our coffees. This is a cozy and charming place with courteous service and a relaxed but refined vibe. Had the crab cakes appetizer which had a good amount of crab although the gazpacho and avocado seemed disjointed with the dish. The scallop entree was delicious, it tasted like a beef stew with the carrots and short rib and the fennel kept it fresh. That was the highlight for me.
