They allow scammers to access your debit card and steal your money and refuse to block or stop such transactions. Their response is "we can't stop scammers from taking your money if you use tap-to-pay". Which is primarily how debit cards work now. I never had a problem with stopping pending payments to fraudulent people with Wells Fargo. Especially when its caught immediately and before the payment even goes through. Another family member warned me about Patelco and is leaving them as well, after being a member for 35 years. So I guess I will too. Disgusting behavior. read more

Thank goodness the good folks at Patelco have been able to bring online banking back :) I logged into to my account and found all was in order. My account balances were as expected. I was able to transfer funds! Do my banking as expected! It was a bit painful to not have access for a couple weeks. However, I think Patelco did a good job recovering from the ransomware attack. For years I have been a member of a credit union. Over time, I find my CU offices were not conveniently located and they reduced the number of partners. It became difficult to get my financial business accomplished. I did a bit of research and now I'm a member of Patelco CU. Easy online application and was approved within minutes. I was a bit leery about sending bank account information over the internet to add funds however, there was the option of depositing at a branch. Using the Patelco app, I found several different branches convenient for me. I stopped in and made deposits into my new accounts. Plenty of parking. There was hardly a line at all. Patelco is not a credit union. It is a for profit bank masquerading as a credit union. Their customer related polices are not congruent with the policies of a non profit organization. Do not bank here. They had a 30 Day technical outage in 2024... 30 days... basically this means their security profile was a joke. Managers and senior leaders refuse to meet clients to explain their polices. That is left to poorly trained front staff without any discrepancy to help a client. It feel like you are dealing with a criminal organization. Mortgages... don't get me started. Savings rates - a joke. read more

Of course I yelped before deciding on which Patelco branch I should visit. This one happens to have the most stars so Patelco in Dublin it is! I had to make a physical appearance due to the nature of my banking needs so I made an appt online which was super easy. The night before my actual appt, I received a courtesy call from Irena reminding me of our appt the next day. Which I thought was professional & thoughtful all together. During our meet, Irena was very pleasant and knowledgeable , my needs were met & my questions all answered! Later on I had to call Irena for a different matter and the person who picked up the phone was also friendly and courteous. Notable mention.. lol I've never stepped in any Patelco locations before but this was a very positive first experience. Please keep up the great work! Patelco is my preferred financial institution above all others, and here is one example of how they shine like a star. Recently I've been on bedrest in recovering from surgery. However I've still needed several critical banking needs met, due to life changing circumstances with non-negotiable demands. I first met with Karmela many months prior, who had offered me excellent service in a different banking transaction. More recently (since then), I called and left a message at this branch, and Karmela eagerly returned my call with warm enthusiasm as she remembered me from before. My requests were quite extreme and possibly unreasonable, but Karmela offered to help me in ways no one else could. With her creative solutions, she saved me time, money, physical health and safety (seriously). Beyond that she even benefited my mental and emotional well being, as the recipient of such sweet, stellar service and removed stress due to her heroic resolve. I knew Patelco was good at taking care of my financial well being, but I didn't know how deeply they could nurture all my needs; that is, until I was saved by Karmela. Naturally I'd like to think it was because I'm special, especially since I was treated like royalty, but the reality is that Patelco provides spectacular service to all their members, and I'm just one to share my experience. Online bank services have been down for almost two days now, there has been no effort made to contact us besides one tweet saying the bank is experiencing an "outage". Nobody can access either their savings or checking if they aren't near a shared branch or atm. How am I supposed to trust you guys after this?? People are on vacation right now not everyone has access to an atm and I had to take my dog to the emergency vet last night and even though I had the money in my savings I couldn't access it. Every response made is the exact same, no human is giving us actual answers and some people are even getting attempted charges on their accounts. When this is all over I am taking all my money out and switching to a different bank, and so will everyone else. There has to be something going on. read more
