They are getting 4 stars mostly for their huge calzones which I think are delicious. Their pizza is good too, similar to NY pizza which is hard to find in FL. For some reason you get a lot of Domino style pizza here which is fine if you like that. I always think I will buy the calzone and eat half and save the rest for later because they are that big. Lately that has not been the case since I love them so much; and they are really fattening. I now only get it if a friend is involved. No, they are not Italian (which I am) to answer the other reviewer. Which only makes them more intriguing to me since their pizza is pretty good. They are always nice as well. read more

Ok, I have to be honest. I pretty much had to stop going here because I was putting on too many lbs because of their daily two slice and a drink special. (See my review of Kale Salad at Cafe Classico) I love pizza and have been known to fly to NY just for it and this place comes very close to being just like all those pizza by the slice joints found on nearly every corner in Manhattan. The subs are great too. Open late on weekends so if you need to have a great slice at 2:30 am this Friday night, this is the place. read more

Horrible service called to ask they would deliver the guy sounded like he was already over it. He goes "not past 11am with an attitude". Tried to order a carry out and he repeated pickup back to me like I was an idiot. Then proceeded to go "were out of almost everything, were out of a bunch of stuff". Visiting from out of state so had a few questions (literally 2-3 questions) about food, EVERY response was with attitude as if we weren't supposed to ask questions or should already know about their food. If people aren't happy with their job they really should find another one, don't ruin someone else's experience because you don't like your job!! Look, if you are staying in the downtown area, put on your shoes and walk over. The pizza is OUTSTANDING!! White cheese and traditional cheese pizzas were big hits. Greek salad was also awesome. You know, I read most of the reviews which had me nervous. I will say that ordering delivery is probably not a good idea for many reasons in the other reviews. Also, since when I tried, it kept changing the price to a ridiculously low price which was a confirmed glitch. read more

The calzones are huge and are sure to fill you up if you can even finish it. It tasted delicious! The down side is that they don't have appetizers or sides...you can't get fries or mozzarella sticks, they only have small bags of plain potato chips, which is strange for an Italian place that is big on pizza delivery and carry out. The woman working the counter was also a bit rude, she was speaking very loudly to other employees and was not speaking very nicely to them, which is annoying when you're eating and can hear everything in the restaurant. She also was not welcoming to us and it seemed as though she was rushing us through our order. Food is good though! read more

Great slice of pizza! If you get a large, it seems they make the crust thinner and crisper - like NY pizza. If you get a small pizza, then the crust is thicker - not as bad as Chicago thick crust though. I have been here several times and the pizza is consistently good and not overly greasy. My boyfriend is from Long Island, NY and this is one of his favorite pizza joints in SRQ. read more

Pizza wasn't anything special but the service was great! Really kind guy at the register helped us, and with jokes and a smile. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the tables were clean. I have been eating Patellini's on a weekly basis for about three month. I have had the cheese pizza, the Stromboli, and a few of the sandwiches as well. Last week, I ordered two pieces of cheese and a Stromboli, which came out to only $14! For NY style pizza of this quality and large portion size, combined with a giant calzone-shaped Stromboli, the price was amazing. The pizza is thin and always arrives hot and looks fresh. Their menu is comprehensive for an Italian place, but I have not had the opportunity to venture away from the pizza, stromboli, or sandwiches. I will try the pasta dishes at some point because based on what I know so far about Patellini's, I believe the sauce for their entrees will be homemade and delicious. The sandwiches on the menu are full of meat and there are many options. For a pizza joint, Patellini's meets the expectations that one would have for a pizza place on Main Street. While Rico's pizza to me is delicious NY style pizza as well, Patellini's sauce and cheese is a little more tasty, and to get two huge slices and a giant Stromboli for $14 delivery is amazing. They are also open late on weekends to provide pizza for hungry folks leaving the bars and clubs downtown. read more

every seat was dirty and every table was dirty, the women's bathroom had barf in the toilet and when I tried to flush it away the toilet just overflowed - this was on a friday night at 8pm. pizza was decent but I don't feel too confident on the kitchen if this is how the restrooms are kept. the pizza is the only reason Patellinis gets a star :( the staff was just hiding behind the counter, please clean your dining area and restrooms ! read more

Decided to try this local pizza place after my sons bar mitzvah. Came in with 10+ plus kids dressed as Elvis Presley and the manager was more then accommodating to all our needs. Pizza overall was good and would go back again( without all the Elvis Presley Kids). The place even took a custom request on cheese less and sauce less pizza (basically dough) for a kid who was lactose intolerant. read more
