    Pineapple margarita

I have been a summer Chatham resident a long time. Only went to the former Pate's a few times. Trapped in the mid 20th century. Friends last summer said go; it is vibrant and changed. I went solo the other night to see. Wow! Such a pretty place now. Great modern bar. I was hungry for oysters, so did not sample the true chef cooking. But as a chatter, I learned from bar neighbors that steaks and white bolognese were A plus. Great pineapple spicy margarita. Excellent bartenders. Love this updated cool place.

We've been coming to Pates for years (and were so happy when Anthony Silvestri took it over). We always enjoy our meals here. The service and food are consistently good. It is pricey, but great for a special occasion. I went for my birthday and they brought out a very delicious little birthday treat - I really appreciated this gesture. Our favorite dishes include the seafood pan roast (to die for), tuna cones, and the fig and prosciutto thin crust pizza

Although we visited Pate's on Thanksgiving, we didn't order the turkey dinner (which was lovely, but we're pescatarian). I started with the Korean Fried Broccoli ... it was FANTASTIC! If I get back to Pate's for another meal, I'll get TWO orders of that. The salmon was excellent too. Nicely roasted. And the cheesy grits were phenomenal.

Another delicious meal here! I started out with my usual chop salad with cilantro vinaigrette which was amazing! For entrées we ordered the gnocchi in Brown butter and the mushroom flatbread with truffle oil. They were both amazing! The pizza was so cheesy and delicious with a savory truffle oil glaze. The gnocchi was light and buttery with a delicious crispy sage accompaniment. For dessert we got the pear crumble which was ooey gooey and delicious. Our waiter was terrific and very attentive. Great job to all!

Pate's in Chatham is always good. The bread basket was served with white bean puree and it was all very good. We enjoyed beet carpaccio salad, iceberg wedge salad, salmon with miso & garlic, raw tuna 'cones' with wasabi cream, and Korean fried broccoli. The desserts were creme brûlée and banana cream in a jar with toasted coconut. Everything was very good. We dined at the bar where the atmosphere was festive. The bar was full, 29 seats, and there were 3 bartenders and 1 bar back. Service was slow and inattentive. The bar staff all seemed nice but not focused on customer service or details. The restaurant was packed with what looked like happy clientele.

Very cool bar area. Stopped by for drinks. I tried the Empress with Empress gin (which is purple!), St. Germain, lemon, and basil. And my husband got the Chat Char with Hendrick's gin, chartreuse, basil, mint, cucumber and lemon- both excellent! The food looked amazing, too. The gal to the right of us had the lobster tostadas which she said were delicious. The guy to the left had the chicken which he said was really good, also heard the fried broccoli is to die-for as well as the tuna "cones," Will have to come back!

Nom, nom flourless cake dessert. Happy Anniversary choco' was a nice touch. Thank you, Amy!!!

Chatham, MA locals and visitors (: go here, you will not be disappointed. My husband remembers going here 40 years ago when it was more like a NY steakhouse but seems that they had a major renovation in the last couple of years. Now has very beachy and coastal vibe. I lurv it!!! I had the jumbo lump crab app, calamari and fall salad. Beloved had the roast chicken entree, duck tacos and flourless choco' cake. All of it sublime. I especially loved my salad and his chicken. The duck tacos are a tish on the smoky side, FYI. The lump crab was divine. And they have a good house made sour mix for the whiskey sours. Service with Amy was great, she was on it tonight. Tonight's a Thursday, not busy but surprisingly many patrons came out for a nice dinner. Happy Din' Din'

This was the Blood Orange Butter Lettuce Salad from specials menu $16 it was really good!

Pate's has really gotten exponentially better since Chef Anthony Silvestri took over and made it his own. The food was fantastic tonight, complimented by a warm and welcoming staff and relaxed but refined atmosphere. My sister and I took our dad and mom here for an early father's day on the Cape. We shared the blood orange salad from the specials menu and the chopped romaine salad to start- the two salads were plenty for the four of us and well complimented by the bread rolls, seeded crackers and white bean dip that Chef Silvestri brought with him from the ocean house. For my entree, I had the Bucatini Pasta- $26 with Peas/Spinach/Asparagus/Sweet Onions/Mascarpone/Parmesan- man it was so delicious! Everyone had a bite and agreed it was just perfectly made with perfectly picked peas and spinach and asparagus. There were no leftovers and I will certainly order again. My dad ordered the Shrimp Scampi -$28 Linguini/Roasted Tomatoes/Garlic/Basil/White Wine and equally cleaned his plate. The pastas are REALLY good at Pate's y'all- you have to come try for yourself. My sister and mom shared the Seafood Pan Roast $40 Fettuccini/Lobster/Shrimp/Scallops/ Basil-Black Pepper Cream Sauce It was more than enough for two people - they even brought leftovers home! They said the lobster and scallops were delicious and I had a shrimp that tasted perfect Thank you for a delicious, lovely meal Pate's - we will certainly be back! Next time I want to try the poke appetizer (it looked SO good at the table next to us) and the desserts (lemon ricotta berry tarte - I am looking at you )

Great place. Great food. 70s decor but somehow it fits. Nothing pretentious at all. The food was great, the service was great.

Highest of recommendations!…read more Right in Route 28 as you head into Chatman Shopping District. Plenty of parking and open year round. Like the old Caswell's in Marshfield, you buy at a counter, they give you a number, and you sit on down as food is brought to you. The inside of Mac's is very clean and spacious, and has about twenty tables. There is seating outside - seasonal and today is January, with snow... so we stayed inside. Started off with the Mac's Clam Chowder which was a lovely milk broth - just as good as the chowder at the Clark Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island! Homemade, flavorful and not jammed with excessive potatoes or onion; the clams were cooked well. I had the fish soup, looked almost like Portuguese Kale, but was very delicious, had a bit of heat to it, the fish was downright incredible; the carrots, celery, and onions were cooked to perfection. We usually get some raw bar, and they have a nice selection of little necks, cherry stones, and oysters, but today for us it was a pound and half of steamed clams. Plump, clean, and sand free. Just as good as those at Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant. Lobster... I asked for a two pounder, and got a 2.5 pounder. Fresh, delicious, succulent, and sweet. Wonderful and hard working staff. No negatives whatsoever.

Main Street was nuts, insane, busy, etc. with the holiday, vacationers, visitors, soccer fans for FIFA, etc. It's the Cape! Very nice place... looks like it could have been a church, VFW Hall, or something or another. Found out it was actually a clothier back in the day, and the stained glass and pews were rescues from a church up in Maine. Nice decor, comfortable. Both lunch and dinner menu served in the early afternoon. High volume, but a few empty tables on a long holiday weekend - Friday. A little off of the beaten path, by that I mean it is not directly on Main Street, but located on Chatham Bars Avenue and down the short street a hundred feet or so and on your left. Cold, bottled San Pellegrino with lime and lemon. Started with the raw bar, well worth the short wait! 18 fat, cold, and briney oysters that were shucked to perfection. The Shrimp Cocktail was great too. She had the Floey's Tuna Sandwich, along with the pasta salad; the tuna had capers mixed in which was a very nice touch! I had the broiled scallops and asparagus; an incredible butter/lemon sauce. Both done exceptionally well. Clean facility, plenty of room, and a wicked nice staff too! The oysters were delightfully sweet and buttery. The little necks here do not compare at all to common west coast clams. They pack such a good flavor we enjoyed every bite. The seafood paired very well with a glass of Sancerre. As for the service, even though it was lunch time, we did wait about 15 minutes to order. We didn't receive any top ups of water or were checked in on much. We had to flag our waitress down to get some condiments before we dug in. The seats were packed a little tight to each other but for quality seafood, we'd do it again.
