This review is long overdue. My dog Jojo was in excruciating pain from a slipped disc. She could barely move, and I truly thought I was going to have to put her down. Then we found Dr. Lina. Dr Lina is amazing. She is extremely empathetic and very skilled Vet and great at what she does. Also she answers all your questions and a great conversationIist. With deep sadness our 15 1/2 year warrior dog passed recently, but her accupuncture did wonders on getting him better, his mobility improved and started to slowly walk without a sling and on leesh. If he was younger and we tried alternate treatments earlier maybe the outcome would have been different, that being said our lovely angel lived a full life and we are eternally blessed. My family takes our kitty Houdini to Dr. Lina. She has been going to her for a while. Houdini has seizures and often tweaks her back from flopping around the house during a seizure. Dr. Lina's treatments have made an extremely noticeable difference in how Houdini can walk and increased her quality of life. Before we went to Dr. Lina, Houdini was starting to drag her hindlegs and it was bad. Now, Houdini walks, sometimes runs and is more her normal self (as normal as she can be on seizure meds). If you are doubtful about acupuncture for your pet, we were weren't sure at first, but the evidence is in the progress of your beloved furry family member. We had the good fortune to find Dr. Lina McCain when my sweet dog was injured jumping off the bed. The care and concern we received from Dr Lina was genuine and professional. After a complete examination, Dr Lina started acupuncture treatment for a cruciate ligament injury to the knee. Having this non-invasive option was ideal since I did not want to consider any surgery. After one treatment, which was quite gentle, I could tell my fur baby was feeling better. We agreed that a series of treatments would be needed for full recovery and after 6 treatments over 3 months, my little guy is as good as new. Dr Lina's bed side manner is calm and patient and my guy was very comfortable overall. We never felt rushed. Dr. Lina is fantastic. My dog Maggie was diagnosed with a liver tumor and adrenal tumor back in March 2014. She was given 2 weeks to live. I was devastated. I just wanted to help ease her pain and I thought of acupuncture. I deal with chronic pain myself, and I go to acupuncture and it has been extremely helpful so the first thing I thought was to bring Maggie to acupuncture. Maggie is also bowlegged, a condition she was born with. She has developed severe arthritis now all over her body especially in her front legs. Lina also helps her with that condition, people at the dog park can't believe how much better she walks. Lina has been sweet and caring and I can't say enough good things. Very pleased with the doctor. Found her to be very loving and caring towards my dog. And at the same time very knowledgeable.

So the first experience was interesting...first I have to give some serious props to the location, as my dog is very active (and anxious) in places he doesn't know. But the blanket on the floor and the chairs near 'dog level,' and he laid down and relaxed while waiting for the needles to come out. The first day he slept alot...and didn't eat much. The next day it was like a light switch, and I had my 'seven year old puppy' back. Having said that, I guess that he has been in pain for quite a while. My loyal 12 yr old buddy is getting older, and his hips aren't quite what they used to be. Acupuncture helped me get through some pain, so I figured it might help my dog too. Lina is very straightforward, and told me that my dog is old, there's no real cure for that...but that her treatments would increase his quality of life. It's true - my dog is much more mellow and relaxed after Lina's treatments. Dr. Lina McCain is literally a life saver!!!!! My poor cockapoo, Marty, from one day to the next woke up unable to move his hind legs. They seemed weak and partially paralyzed. He could not even lift his bottom half for bowel movements. We took him to a vet and we were told that he had intervertebral disc disease and would require back surgery that would not guarantee a success and would cost about $10,000.00! There was no way that we could afford that and let alone, put him at risk for something that was not guaranteed. My husband took our rabbit ,who injured his nerve and dragged his feet, to any possible doctor, we gave him lots of medications and made expensive tests as Xrays and blood work...our last chance was acupuncture as the bunny did not recover. We have been seeing Dr. McCain for a couple of years now for acupuncture for our 2 dogs (Maltese). One of our dogs who is 13 years old was diagnosed with collapsing trachea, and has arthritis. And our other 7 year old dog has severe allergies. We feel that the treatments have helped our dogs with all of the conditions. Dr. McCain is very professional, yet gentle and kind with our dogs. i was incredibly fortunate to find Dr. Lina McCain when I searched Animal Acupuncture in May of 2013. My then seven year old male Devon Rex, Ferris, was suffering from pretty severe IBD, and had been for about 5 months. I had tried steroids, metronidazole, and some holistic treatments, and was at my wits end because he wasn't improving. About a month prior to my finding Dr. Lina, Ferris essentially stopped eating, and lost 3.5 pounds from his 8 pound frame; at that point, I was force-feeding him and quite sure I was going to lose him. Tears were pretty much a daily occurrence. A friend suggested I try acupuncture, and with great hope, I made an appointment with Dr. Lina. I am extremely picky about the professionals who care for my animals; most of my life, my veterinarian was a family friend, and I was very used to being a big part of their medical experiences. My first impression of Dr. Lina was that she was absolutely someone I wanted involved in Ferris' case. The fact that she was a trained and certified Veterinarian was hugely reassuring, and her immediate care, concern and warmth towards Ferris confirmed that I was at the right place. You might think that administering acupuncture to a cat would be an impossible task, but Ferris is fairly calm and trusting, and Dr. Lina has such empathy and understanding, and such a gentle and caring manner, that he handled the first treatment, and all subsequent treatments, beautifully. After a thorough session of questions about Ferris, and an initial treatment, she prescribed an herbal blend to see if that helped his IBD and his appetite. I took him home, he rested the remainder of the day, and that night, he ate a little on his own. After a week of the herbal supplement, he was eating almost normally, and after a month, both his appetite, and his stools, normalized. I continue to take Ferris to see Dr. Lina quarterly, and Ferris still gets his herbal supplement, and he's up to 8.3 lbs and as healthy a cat as you'd ever meet. I had occasion to take another of my cats to see Dr. Lina- Kismet had urinary crystals (from stress due to an upheaval in my household), and I was hoping Dr. Lina could help again. Kismet is the opposite of Ferris- very high-strung, nervous and shy. Again, Dr. Lina's calm, caring and warm demeanor calmed Kismet down, and though she wasn't as relaxed as Ferris is during the treatment, she tolerated it far better than i would ever have expected. The herbal supplement helped clear up Kismet's urinary problems, and she, too, is in great shape now. I have recommended Dr. Lina to many of my friends, and all of them have been incredibly happy with her services, prices, and treatments. And she is not just good for animals. I had made one of Ferris' appointments back in 2013 on a day that turned out to be the day after my Dad passed away. I could have cancelled, but I knew that Dr. Lina's calming, nurturing, and caring energy would benefit me just as much as Ferris, and I was completely correct; I left feeling better than I would have though possible, just by being around her. I cannot stress enough what a difference this amazing woman has made in the lives of my cats, and in my life. She is an absolute wonder. If you have a pet that acupuncture and/or herbal supplements might help, or if you've been failed by Western veterinary medicine, I strongly advise a visit to Dr. Lina. Woof! Dr. McCain helped my lil rescue pup from severe tummy troubles. He's had digestive symptoms ever since I rescued him 3 years ago. Dr. McCain has worked wonders on him and I can see results by the end of our 25 minute acupuncture session. She's kind, gentle, extremely reasonable rate, and goes at the pace of your animal. Dr. Lina McCain provides an alternative treatment of Eastern medicine (acupuncture and Chinese herbs) with her veterinary expertise. My dog had arthritis and was on a traditional joint supplement and also a prescription medicine. There was some improvement but we decided to try Dr. McCain (as she came highly recommended by our vet) as an adjunct therapy. My dog was her patient for almost two years. When we first started, my dog was very hypersensitive to pain and was nervous about the new treatment. It did not take long for her to realize that Lina was there to help. I think she ended up looking forward to our trips to go see Lina. Yes, she loved the treats (as another reviewer mentioned) that she received during the session. Her symptoms lessened quite a bit (less limp, decrease pain, more energy). After the needles are in, we must wait for 20 mins. I really enjoyed this time to chat with Dr. McCain about all kinds of things, especially my dog's health and prognosis. While she is very professional and knowledgable, she is also a warm and kind person and easy to talk with. As my dog declined (due to another problem), Lina was extremely helpful and knowledgable about end of life issues. I would highly recommend Dr. McCain for a variety of medical problems. Don't go to this person she is in the wrong profession, not caring, not knowledgable, you feel cold vibe from this Person , don't take the time to know your pet and inadequate space when treating your pet. she has no warm heart towards the animals that she treats, very expensive not worth your every dollar, she is just in it for the money. If the acupuncture market for pets is this expensive they need to adjust there price. Is not worth your hard earn money. I rather search for other treatment like pet meridian massage or pet massage or acupressure which is more calmer and better for them my personal believe and travel 30 miles or more to find the right care for my pet. read more

We have an 18 yr old, 3-legged tabby who is amazingly healthy with the exception of arthritis in her only back leg.
