We showed up on time for both our cats appointments which are at the same time. The front desk lady messed up our appointments and shamelessly asked us to wait another hour until they can see if doctor is available to see both of them or only one of them. The front desk lady said she felt rude to deliver the message to doctor and "surprised" to see why we can't wait. She had really bad attitude without apologetic at all. DONT COME HERE unless you don't mind wait and change your schedule.

So thoughtful even in difficult times

Our dog has multiple cancerous mass tumors that needed to be removed. A wonderful staff during a worrisome time for our dog and family. Dr Nesset is amazing.

I can't say enough about Dr. Nesset and the staff at West Valley Pet Clinic. We have entrusted the care of our dogs there for over 20 years. Not only have they provided us with exceptional health care for our dogs, but they have treated them with such gentleness and compassion through every stage of their lives. We have also felt a deep sense of trust in their expertise, fairness in their pricing, and genuine love for our dogs. During covid, our 14 year old dog passed. Dr. Nesset called us personally and consoled us for our loss. The staff sent us a beautiful card signed by every staff member with a personal message or memory about our beloved. Losing a pet is never easy, but they handled everything with such sensitivity and kindness. It helped us get through a very sudden and painful loss. They also have great after hours for non emergency communication, where you can send pictures, and ask questions. Although pets often feel nervous going to see the vet, I can tell that our dogs trust that Dr. Nesset and the team at West Valley care for them and will help make them feel better. Thank you for taking care of Mindy, Bunny, Coco, and Lulu. Our family is forever grateful for the care you have provided for all of them. See you again for the next appointment!

We were shopping around for a vet to care for our Akita's spay and gastropexy preventative surgery and we're super grateful to have discovered Dr Nesset + team. Our pup was under such great care and professionalism. Dr Nesset was super transparent and provided great communication throughout the whole process. We appreciate the team and will be coming back for future care.

Reposting because it appears my review was reported for removal. Shame on you WVPC. My dog was a multiple-time customer of this business. I am speaking on the effect that treatment by this business had on my dog, which I am personally witnessing. The impact of healthcare extends beyond what happens in the clinic--it is important that the lasting impression on the customer (my dog) is positive, which it was not, as detailed below. Follow-up to Ella Sun's review (She is a prior paying customer of this clinic. Seems like WVPC may have reported her profile. Is this clinic literally suppressing free speech about their own wrongdoings??? See attached pictures.) Took our dog to our usual vet 3 days after the WVPC appointment for a check-in. Our dog was quite literally desperately climbing underneath ours and the receptionist's legs while whimpering to avoid going into the exam room. He has never done this before. This prompted this receptionist to say "he has trauma" and the veterinarian assistant to say "you poor thing." Our vet 1) again confirmed no ear infection (which Aleisha Nesset attempted to "diagnose") and 2) noted an isolated, scabbed-over wound deep inside our dog's ear (which confirms my dog was wounded AND is not how an ear infection presents 3 days later with no treatment). Again, these findings are in DIRECT contradiction to WVPC's "assessment," and this follow-up appointment at a different clinic was vital to confirming WVPC's misdiagnosis/gaslighting. Even one situation like this is unacceptable. WVPC's immediate attempt to "rewrite the narrative" rather than apologize at the scene as well as flagging reviews detailing the aftermath of their "care" is all the more telling.

I've been going to West Valley Pet Clinic for the past few months with my new puppy, Willow. Yesterday, I took her in for her "big day" of getting spayed. As a person with anxiety, especially around medicine, I was a bit nervous considering the fact that this operation requires anesthesia and a 2-week healing process. Finding a quality vet was something I've had trouble doing, and I can honestly say that West Valley Pet Clinic is filled with the nicest, most empathetic vet techs and staff who you can tell truly adore animals. Dr. Valerie Brons is my vet and she is kind, clearly very experienced with all kinds of animals, and communicates clearly on what she's doing, why, and what to expect as the owner. She is great at making both your pets and you feel comfortable. This clinic is full of very kind workers and every time I bring in Willow, they get so excited to see her. Even little details such as drawing a cute photo of Willow on her bag of pills made me smile when reaching for her medicine the morning after an understandably stressful day for us both. This wasn't something they had to do, but it shows me that they watched her closely while under their care and were genuinely happy to have her around. A few more technical details: they do curbside drop off as an option and are very COVID-aware as an office and wear masks, they have a cubby for after hours medications should you need to pick them up after 6, and they always seem to have appointments available within a week's notice.

Outside during COVID-19, pet parents park outside at labeled cones while our furry loved ones get checked inside

This review is for Dr. Hsu. We love Dr. Hsu. My chubby little shih tzu has been seeing Dr. Hsu since she has been a puppy. We followed Dr. Hsu from a Sunnyvale clinic to West Valley Pet Clinic. Although the drive to this clinic takes a little longer now for us, it's worth it. Dr. Hsu is so kind and gentle. We really trust her to take care of Sunny. She takes time to answer all of my questions and follows up after visits when there has been a health problem. One time, we had to go to an emergency clinic. My ex-husband did not like how they treated Sunny and did not trust the emergency clinic's recommendations. Sure enough, the emergency clinic's recommendations did not help Sunny to get better. We took Sunny to see Dr. Hsu at her next available appointment. Sunny got better after following Dr. Hsu's treatment and recommendations. Although my ex-husband and I have some differences, we agree on trusting Sunny's care with Dr. Hsu. I'm about to move further away from this clinic but plan to keep Sunny's care here since I know Dr. Hsu will take good care of my precious doggie.

Luna was very happy with WVPC.

I've had to bring one of my Guinea pigs to WVPC for urgent care twice. Both times I was afraid her days were numbered but things worked out for the best on both trips. On both visits as well as follow ups the care my pet received was excellent. I've had the good fortune of dealing with all three of the clinic's doctors-Dr. Nesset, Dr. Groundwater and Dr. Brons. Good exotic pet care can be hard to come by but all three doctors were knowledgeable, informed, skilled, experienced, good communicators, and caring. The staff, from the front desk to the tech's, were great. They were efficient, they answered all my questions, they kept me informed and they were genuinely concerned about the health and well-being of my guinea pig. You can't ask for more.

Ella she will be 10 soon

I received a response offering an exam appointment (which I expected), along with the soonest available opening, but no information about pricing -- not even the cost of the exam itself. I replied asking for both the exam fee and availability. They responded by booking an appointment date and time, again without answering my question about pricing. I had to follow up a third time explaining that I needed to know the cost before confirming, and I was finally told the exam would be $60, which seemed reasonable. Since it was actually my brother's dog, I sent him to the appointment. After the visit, he was quoted $1,600-$2,000 for treatment, which was unfortunately out of his budget. While that happens and isn't necessarily the issue, I was disappointed to find out he had been charged $80 for the exam instead of the $60 I was originally told. When I reached out via text, they explained they "forgot" to apply the new client discount -- something that had never been mentioned to me beforehand. They offered either a refund or to apply the difference toward future services. Since we had already found another clinic that could do the same services for around $1,200, I asked for the $20 refund back to the card. After that, I never heard back. No confirmation of the refund, no apology for the overcharge, nothing. I understand veterinary care is expensive, and it's not their fault my brother is a broke college student. But basic customer service and communication go a long way. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning or recommending this office.

I have gone to Dr. Singh for regular vaccines, surgeries, prescription meds, and lately euthanasia for my old dog. 10/10 service each time. I'm so thankful for Dr. Singh and Marcos! In 2022, my senior dog Clifford needed an emergency surgery to remove multiple bladder stones. I initially took him to an emergency vet and they quoted me $12k for surgery. The next morning, I called Aborn Pet Clinic and Dr. Singh said he would take us in that same day, quoting only $1500! After surgery, Dr. Singh called that everything went well and he was ready for pick up. However, there was bleeding from his stitches since the surgery was complex and Dr. Singh offered to let my dog stay until closing so they can monitor him. He even offered to keep him over the weekend and would come in the office to check in. But we wanted my dog home to watch 24/7, so we came back ~7pm to pick him up. Dr. Singh then thoroughly explained the aftercare/cleaning process, medication, stitches removal, etc. At checkout I was expecting a much higher cost (since the surgery was more complicated, extra bloodwork, anesthesia, extra monitoring, special meds), but Dr. Singh still only charged me $1500! I asked him twice mentioning the extra care needed, but he still kept his word and maintained the original cost. Even after we took him home, Dr. Singh emailed us to check how my dog was doing over the weekend and he responded quickly to any questions we had. Removing stiches a few weeks later was quick and easy. Thank you Dr. Singh and Marcos for saving my dog! The emergency surgery gave us 4 more years with him. In 2026, when it was time to put Clifford to sleep, we also went back to Dr. Singh. He showed great sympathy to my family and explained the process in an informative and caring way. He allowed our whole family in the room to be with Clifford when he passed. My dog hated the vet's office, so we are so grateful to be able to be with him at that time. Summary: -Dr. Singh and Marcos are great people who really care about their pet patients -Great communication and quick responses via email -Clean clinic (front reception area and back surgery room are very clean!) -Affordable cost!!! -Good quality of care; no BS and he will only recommend you necessary services -Dr. Singh is honest, straightforward, and goes through info quickly since it's only him and Marcos. He is very responsive via email.

Our family lost a dog right before Christmas in 2024. He began exhibiting concerning symptoms, and late at night, an appointment was made to bring him in the following morning. Unfortunately, he didn't make it through the night, and his unexpected passing was incredibly devastating to us, especially because my brother, his primary caretaker, was working out of state and not able to be there in his final moments. The next morning, shortly before the scheduled appointment, I called to let them know what happened and apologize that we would be missing the appointment on such short notice. The woman on the phone was so incredibly kind and compassionate. She comforted me and let me know that we could bring him to them, and they would arrange his cremation, if that is what we wanted. My mother and I loaded him into the back of her van, devastated, and she drove him to San Jose Animal Hospital. Upon her arrival, the staff members promptly came outside, loaded our sweet beloved boy onto a gurney and took him inside. They hugged my mother and showed her a level of love and compassion that truly moved her to tears. The subject of payment was not brought up once at this time. They spoke with my brother over the phone and let him know all of the available options that he had and assured him that everything would be taken care of. The cost was very reasonable, and a few weeks later, Major's ashes were delivered to us in a beautiful urn, with a handwritten note of sympathy, his collar, and a paw print they had taken, things we had never even thought about in our state of grief. I truly appreciate the love that was shown to us during this time. Its taken me a while to leave them a review, only because it is a very sore subject. If this is the level of care they showed to our dog in death, I can only imagine how they treat the living pets in their care. Thank you so much.
