I was in search of a nice Naples restaurant for lunch today, The patio showed up and I thought I would give it a try. WORST MISTAKE! When I arrived, the hostess handed menus to me and told me to find a booth in the back. This should have been the first hint that this wasn't going to go well. It took a few minutes for someone to greet us at the booth. I had my mother and my son with me. My son is almost 2 years old. We arrived right at his lunch time. He had been a little fussy during the day and couldn't seem to calm down no matter what I did. He is a hyper child and it usually is hard and stressful for me to take him out. It is rare that I have the courage to do so. Well I'm the restaurant diagonal from us, was a group of veterans having lunch as well. One of the gentleman, started yelling at me to control my child and do something about his rowdy behavior. Never have I ever felt as much shame and guilt about having my child out in public. Anyway it turned into a big ordeal and the restaurant workers did nothing about the situation. They never tried to calm the gentleman down or come to apologize to me or try to give me option for a different seating arrangement. This was disgraceful. The food took a long while and my child was upset because he was hungry. Once the food arrive he calmed down finished his food and we quickly made an exit. I lost my appetite and never touched my food. The waiter checked on us maybe once while we were there and never offered us to comp any of the dishes. Anyway I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone and will definitely spread the word about the terrible service and negligence to its customers. I've been to Patio Cafe several times and always make my way back about once a month. I'm impressed how they can navigate the crowds and consistently serve a good meal. That seems to be a challenge in Naples. I've had breakfast and lunch & the soup is always piping hot and gourmet. The portions are good & I've yet had to send anything back. The service is friendly and pretty good for Naples. Parking can be tricky, but they have an overflow parking lot across the street. I know this is corny, but don't forget to sample the salt scrub for your hands in the bathroom - it's phenomenal. Honestly, my hands are soft and supple for nearly a week following that. My husband thinks I'm a weirdo, when I leave the table for 20 minutes and retreat to the bathroom for a self delivered hand-spa. YES, it's that good! We decided to go to Patio Cafe today at around 2 in the afternoon for lunch. We were a party of 2 and walked in and were seated by one of the waiters. The cafe was not busy at the time and we were seated in a booth. The waiter that seated us had a bit of an attitude because we wanted to sit in a booth. We then waited 10 minutes for a waiter to stop by the table. I got up an went to the front to let them know that we were ready to order. The female server up front was cocky and said that someone would be right over..... no one ever came by so we walked out. Upon leaving the restaurant, my husband "interrupted" the manger who was on his phone, to let them know we were leaving. The manager gave no apology and we walked out. The Patio offers good food at reasonable prices. We have been there four times and have always had a nice meal. Consistency is important to us. The staff is welcoming and attentive throughout. This is the cafe's greatest strength. Our food choices have ranged from eggs and toast to soups to burgers, and everything has been very good. Solid food, service and value. Not many places around Naples where you can get a couple glasses of wine, good & creative home cooking in a spotlessly clean restaurant for under $20 bucks per person. But Patio does it and does it very well. Lamb chops, roasted chicken on the bone, big fat Greek salads...all worthwhile and tasty. Breakfasts are perfectly done and a bargain under $10. Dinners are great value and satisfying. It's a hot-spot among snowbirds and value seekers. In winter, expect a crowd. In summer, it's a frequent relaxing go-to stop for us. My friends and I love going to The Patio Cafe on Sundays. The bloody marys are divine and cheap! The food is pretty good, however the service is pretty bad. The servers are very nice and friendly, but they often screw up orders and take forever to bring food or refills on drinks. Even so, we find ourselves going back again and again so it must be worth it! Its probably the bloody marys. :) I'd say, check it out when you have plenty of time to wait for them to happily fix your order after they bring you the wrong thing. read more

Not a fan. I do not want to say too many terrible things about this place (though it's hard not to) because it is obvious this is someone's livelihood and they have put time and effort in to revitalizing this old building. I was in it before years ago ... not pretty! First the good ... the service was great, however there were honestly too many staff members wandering around the floor bumping into each other. The hostess was lovely and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive, but did not notice that not one of us finished even half of our meal and she did not inquire if there was a problem and quite frankly, we did not have the energy to go in to it. After all, we were still hungry. The food as you can guess from the previous paragraph, was a total fail. Not one of our four meals had any taste. Well that's not entirely true. Mine had a taste that stayed with me all morning ... and into the early afternoon. The eggs benedict truly was that horrible. Overcooked eggs and absolutely the worst hollandaise I have ever tasted. Literally. Ever. In all fairness, we have only eaten there one time and it was breakfast (which in my opinion should be the easiest to prepare) so we have not tried the lunch or the dinner. This is why I chose two stars instead of one. I cannot say that I really have any interest after that experience, though. The restaurant is very loud and we were by far the youngest people in the place so maybe they have a really good senior discount. That could also explain the loudness, a lot of "left at home" hearing aids. I am really not exaggerating on this point. And that says a lot coming from a woman with two young children. My final criticism would be that all of the menus have entirely too many items. This may have contributed to the problems with the execution?? All in all, I would forego this restaurant, for breakfast anyway. There are far better options in Naples; Skillets, Joe's Diner, Sunburst, just to name a few. If we do decide to give the lunch or dinner a shot, since I normally believe in second chances, I will adjust my review accordingly and fairly. read more

However the service is slow and that's because they are typically under staffed. My wife and me often go here for breakfast. The Patio is extremely efficiently and politely run. The Host manages a large breakfast crowd very tactfully. The Patio has both indoor and outdoor seating, both which are quite nice. They cook eggs perfectly, the fruit is freshly cut, blueberry pancakes with home made blueberry sauce are outstanding and the sausage accompanying the platters is just great. Waitstaff is extremely courteous and efficient. I highly recommend for a nice breakfast at competitive prices. read more

Marvelous food. Nice selection of down home meals. Truly a great family restaurant. I had liver with bacon and onions. It was delicious. There were three large pieces of liver that were perfectly cooked. Just a tinge of pink so that the liver was moist and not dried out. Bacon was crisp and onions cooked well but not overdone. You have a choice of sides, I got the baked potato with steamed veggies. Choice of desserts but no room after their generous entree serving. I definitely plan to go back. read more

He consistently made sure we had what we needed and even though he was clearly very busy he managed to always check on are needs. We go here for dinner about once a week and the food is not elegant, but it is fresh, plentiful, and tasty. My favorites are the stuffed pepper soup and the pork chops. My husband get meatloaf, chicken pot pie, or liver. a neighbor orders pot roast every time he goes here. I have never seen a meal that is larger served in this area and we have plenty of other restaurants within a four mile radius. Patio Cafe offers an incredible choice of well prepared foods, a clean atmosphere and friendly staff. The owner, Tolan, visits patrons at their tables to insure their satisfaction. With soup or salad, an entree and a beverage including house wines and a check under $30 even in 2fer summer season, this place is a good buy. Get there even earlier and select entrees are under $7! I cant recommend the bbq meatloaf nor the chicken parm. I wasnt happy with either, but there are plenty of other items and daily specials on the menu. read more
