    Sizzling Bangus Sisig
    Meg P.

A place I will always keep going back to with my mom. The food here is delicious and gives me the feeling of home My personal favorites is the Bangus Sisig and the Lechon Kawali. The Bangus Sisig comes out on a sizzling hot plate, the mixture of the lemon and the creaminess is perfect. On to the Lechon Kawali I don't even know where to start, from start to finish it's crunchy all around. Even when I took the Lechon Kawali home as leftovers, it was still crunchy. My mom enjoyed the Kare Kare and enjoyed it as well. The service here is phenomenal majority of the workers are filipinos and can speak tagalog as well. The environment overall as well provided a very comforting feeling, and I will continue coming back here!

Patio Filipino had become one our favorite Filipino spots, the food never disappoints and we always order too much meaning we get to eat more of it the next day! When we arrived we saw that most of therestaurant was full, there was a 90 soothing yr old celebrating his birthday with his entire family and a band. Luckily there was still play of the restaurant available for dine in. Just writing this review is honestly making me hungry, parking can be a bit rough sometimes but it's worth it.

5.14.26 I had a very long review that they deleted. Guess they didn't like my honest opinions. I've been coming here since they opened and loved every single dish they have. Over the years the food quality and taste has gone downhill. I came here in 2021 and the food was terrible. I waited a few years and ordered food last week hoping the taste and quality magically went back to what they served in their early years, but sadly it's still terrible. Their Kare Kare is so watered down you can't even taste any peanut butter. The dinuguan is 1% meat, 49% inedible parts (see photos), and 50% sauce. Huge ripoff! This is the last straw for me and I won't be returning ever again. The prices are insanely expensive for the tiny portions. There are much better Filipino restaurants in the surrounding areas. My wife and I don't usually go to Filipino restaurants. Why, when your parents can cook still and you can get your favorite Filipino comfort foods at home for free. I know. Sounds cheap and yet I suspect many of you Filipinos feel the same way about your parents home cooking. However when we visited my wife's Aunt in San Francisco we were torn. Her Aunt makes the most amazing kare kare. But she's a little more fragile now so with much fighting and a little deception we convinced her to let us take her out. We had a whole bunch of places from Yelp to choose from also but when her son said he wanted to bring us to his favorite place we said sure. But wait it's Filipino? You can imagine the side eye Aunty gave us all. Going to pay for what she could have cooked at home lol. Well, blame it on her son. For the table (five of us) he ordered: -Appetizer combo: lumpianitas, wings, calamari, and shrimp. This was okay. Standard fried appetizer platter. -Crispy Pork Tata: These were absolutely amazing. Crispy skin. Juicy pork meat. He ordered TWO. We finished only one because there was so much and I could hear my doctor in my head just screaming "stop!" But omg this was a meal by itself. My cousin happily took home the other piece. -Sizzling sisig bangus: This is a personal fave of mine. Shredded milkfish in a creamy lemon sauce. I probably ate half of this plate. -Sizzling beef salpicao: cubed tenderloin in a Worcestershire sauce. I didn't like this as much as I had hoped. Felt it was too salty. Unfortunate since my cousin highly recommended it. -Green beans with longanisa: you had me at longanisa. It was the only vegetable dish we got so I made sure to "eat my greens". You know, be healthy. -You bet we ordered garlic fried rice and you bet I ate my share. -My daughter had ordered a Calamansi based drink which we had to remind them about bc all the food came out before that did. The restaurant has a good amount of seating which is great for the family feel. Not to offend our Aunt but yes I'd come here again when I'm in the city. She got her revenge anyways. Somehow she paid for the bill even though we said we were taking care of it.

We chanced upon this place while walking through a windy & cold night in San Bruno from our friend's hotel to another intended Filipino restaurant in the area. Glad the group was in agreement to try this establishment out. Having never heard of this enduring Filipino-Spanish restaurant, I actually had doubts. That all went away when our Chicken Tinola was served. The soup was so good it exceeded my expectations for such a traditional Filipino viand. Next was a round of San Miguel Brewery's Red Horse extra strong lager and we were good to go. The Crispy Pata (deep fried pork leg) was the next "ulam" that was hands down, another winner. Delicious to the bone as I chewed it clean after we partook with the crackling skin and juicy pork meat. Not a fan of Callos (beef tripe) so I can't compare this dish to previous experience. I'd still give this one 4/5 stars though. For dessert, we shared the Mango Frozen Brazo (custard filled rolled meringue cake). Easily A+. Service wasn't as quick as we hangrily wanted it to be, but the joint was handling several large parties that evening. Patio Filipino will now be in our options for Pinoy comfort food when in the Peninsula.

They catered the food for my wedding reception and it seemed a bit hit with the guests. We came here for my son's baptism afterwards and did a buffet. We also ordered food from here for Easter this year. Ambiance: it's always nice and casual here.

We attended a networking and this is where they held the event. They have reserved a private room just for our group. They ordered lumpia shanghai, chicharon bulaklak and camaron rebosado as appetizers. Then for main entrè - beef mechado, callos, adobo, paella, and bangus sisig. Everything was good And for dessert some ordered halohalo and some got the brazo de mercedes which has an ice cream and corn i think? The service and staff were really great and fast. Parking is a little challenging though but the place is clean and decent. Overall , I would recommend it here for filipino food cravings.

Patio Filipino really knows how to do crispy right! Their Lechon Kawali, Pork Sisig, and Crispy Pata were all perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside--exactly how they should be. The Patio Sampler, Sizzling Bangus Sisig, Pancit Combination, Sotanghon Guisado, and Pinakbet were also amazing, packed with authentic flavors that really hit the spot. The restaurant has plenty of tables, making it a great spot for groups, and service was fast and efficient, which was a big plus. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that the Kare Kare lacked flavor--it could've used a richer, more robust peanut sauce. Other than that, everything else was fantastic, and I'd definitely come back for more!

My husband I had dinner here last night, Monday 09Jun2025. This place never fails me at all. I ordered lumpia, beef bulalo, calamari, pancit bihon and buko consetta for dessert. The place is clean, peaceful. Servers were attentive and nice! The calamari is crunchy and tasty, and lumpia too. They had the fresh garlic and vinegar dipping sauce or chili sauce. The bulalo is soo good with lots of veggies. The pancit is super good with vegetables and sautéed garlic on top. The buko consetta is the best and so unique with mix halo halo and gelatin line inside. Thank you

My cousin was in town from Arizona and was in nearby in Burlingame. It was a cloudy/ rainy evening, so I brought her to Patio Filipino. We ordered the sinigang na baka (beef) and the chicken/ pork adobo. It was just what we needed to feel warmed, comforted, and reminiscent of our childhood and our Lolo Bert. I ordered the sweet tea gulaman, which was perfectly light and refreshing. This is a great restaurant to visit if you're flying into SFO or you're traveling through and just want that comfort food. Thank you, Patio Filipino!

Great selection of filipino food. Restaurant is spacious clean and decent looking. Only downside is There's limited street parking. Staff are attentive and service can be quick or slow. Sisig seems to be made from an old lechon kawali. Ordered sisig, bangus sisig which is alright and I enjoyed the laing.

We love this place. Easy to find parking and plus their food is very good. We ordered: fried chicken, lechón kawali, pancit (fat and skinny noodles), Kare kare (oxtail) and kalabasa with coconut sauce. Delicious. This is becoming my favorite location to eat Filipino food now that Viamare is closed. We would definitely come back especially since the wait staff is so attentive and kind.

Does this restaurant have a private parking lot? Easy to find parking?

There is no private parking lot. I have only attended during semi-private events (sold out) and it was a bit difficult to find street parking. I do not know how it is on a regular night or lunch hour.

Will your patio be available this weekend? do you allow pets in your patio?

    Weather permitting, yes.

Do you sell frozen lumpia to go?

You can try goldilocks in south San Francisco or Daly City. Sorry, we don't.

    Do they deliver?

No they don't, but they do take out orders for pick up.😃

I sent a request via Yelp app and Marsha suggested I send an email. This was on a Sunday and the event was in 2 weeks ! When I didn't hear anything via email or a call I called the office and spoke to Ben who apologized for the lack of communication and he would respond via email, which he did a few hours later. After several emails from Ben we were able to settle on a menu in just a few days! We were looking for a Hawaiian fusion themed menu and Ben & his staffto came up with a great menu. W Some of our many items that was a huge hit with our guests were Vietnamese vegan rolls, miso glazed black code, a toss green salad with Edamame and Asian dressing, crab deviled eggs, scallops spoon, chimichuri steak crostini, short ribs skewers, Asian style lamb meatballs, and dessert of fruit cups and mini cupcakes were perfect. There was a few dishes that wasn't as successful but overall everyone enjoyed the food. We had pre arranged to have someone to meet the catering staff early for setup but due to unknown delays they did show up until an hour before the service started which also ment they were rushed to setup the food but they did a good job to get the hot and cold foods setup before the end of the service. Overall they did a good job and the food excellent but arriving late to the event and poor timing to replenish empty dishes was disappointing also dessert wasn't served until most guest departed. We enjoyed working with Ben and appreciated the communication once it was established.

Sheldon was fabulous to work with, coming up with a great menu out of the box. Some of our guests have celiac, and others are lactose-intolerant; all food was perfectly labeled so these people felt safe eating it. Many guests approached me to rave about the food afterwards, and this is a foodie crowd. Even the recommended beer and wines were just right. They set up the area perfectly, and the staff, overseen by the attentive and sensitive Roma, and were able to accommodate a few last-minute requests (e.g., an electrical outlet and extension cord; rearranging chairs to be out of the sun; extensive speeches that could have eaten into food time). We had a number of updates to our requests as close-in as days before the event, and all were accommodated with a smile. I add that I set this whole thing up from FL and CT, never setting foot on the property before the event. And all went off without a hitch. I recommend Melon's wholeheartedly!

We wanted food at our wedding that reflected our cultures (and our favorite foods). We received catering contracts from several caterers, but Melon's was the only one where we really felt like they had worked with our ideas. Chef Stephen told me at the first call outright that he couldn't do "the most authentic", but he could make delicious food. He was right -- and all my guests (most of whom dislike fusion) were super pleased. People literally raved to me first about the food of all the things about my wedding, especially the red-cooked duck leg and the baklava. 2022 was a crazy year for weddings, and Melons was super busy and a bit slow in responding through the first half of that until the summer. So just be aware of that when you work with this vendor. We booked them without a tasting and pleased at our tasting to discover that we had chosen well. (And were again very pleased at our wedding when the food was exactly as it was at the tasting, except they had taken into account our feedback as well so it was even better!) Finally, the servers were all kind and so courteous and happy for us on the day of. The only sad thing is that I can't eat my wedding food again, to be honest.
