We had a layover in Miami and were staying nearby and we're told this was the closest restaurant to us. So we went in with very low expectations. But we were pleasantly surprised. Food was amazing along with the staff. We had a group of seven and everyone was very happy with their choices. It was a Saturday night and they were having Spanish karaoke. The restaurant was full and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Our only issue was we were sitting right in front of the stage so it was very very loud, more like a nightclub. I am very disappointed and I'm sad to have to make this review , what was once good is now HORRIBLE. The quality of the food and the service has gone downhill completely. What they claim on the menu is not the type of meat that they are using , when I brought it to their attention a very rude young female waitress Told me that , that is the type of meat that now they use when they run out of the good meat . I said, "but that's not the type of meat that I ordered off the menu ",she said ."that's what we do now take it or leave it, "but she had already served it to me. I'm talking about Tacos con Carne Asada. They have tacos with carne de res and tacos with Carne Asada two different cuts of meat and two different prices. the beef that they served in my tacos is hard chewy mainly Cartlidge, and horrible . The tacos with Carne Asada, which I've ordered other times was tasty was tender and good. I had taken one bite and I gagged because the meat was all chewy Cartlidge and it tasted bad. The tortilla they serve the taco in was not homemade like they used to be , it was packaged tortilla .The waitress was so hateful, and with a very nasty tone in her voice . She said I already ate the dish so there's nothing she can do about it when all I did was take ONE bite of one taco and there are three tacos on the dish! This waitress was combative and kept insisting on something so ridiculous all I was asking for was for the dish. I ordered. I never asked for my money back . She threatened to get physical with me and I am a senior citizen. When the owner, elderly lady approached, I explained to her the situation , I was shocked at how rudely she snatched the plate from in front of me and told the girl not to charge me for it . I don't care about being charged or not being charged. She made me feel bad because she was going to have to throw the dish in the garbage so I asked for the dish back and ate what I could because I was hungry and brought the rest mainly the meat to my dog . I don't like throwing food away unnecessarily I paid for it . she did not even fix the price. I did not get what I paid for. The rest of the food that I ordered when I got to where I was going was a big disappointment as well. It was just gross. . owner had to tell the waitress to move away from me because the whole time she stayed staring at me like challenging me to fight. I spent $60 that day $30 online because I had originally come in to pick up an order and while there I was quite hungry so I spent another $30 plus tip because the tip is included even if you are just are one person. Ladies and gentlemen ,DO NOT EAT HERE THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD IS IS NOT THE SAME what they claim on the menu is not what they serve you The ambience is scary. The staff is vindictive and just plain nasty. This family owned restaurant was accommodating and made us feel welcome, even inviting us to sing. A little Spanish goes a long way, but you definitely can go by and shouldn't let that stop you. I ordered the fajitas which were amazing. the beans superb. we also got some tostones, and my husband got the cubano. The cuban was a little different than the typical but still amazing. About an hour after ordering (right before serving), the waiter came back and said they couldn't make an order because of lack of ingredients (consistent with reviews below). I absolutely loved this restaurant! I visited for spring break and it was very close to the airport. If you're looking for good Honduran food this is the place! I came here multiple times and my favorite dish was the super baleada. It was huge and packed with flavor! They serve encurtido with it and I honestly couldn't get enough of it. I also got the cuarto leches and it was very rich and sweet. It is perfect if you have a sweet tooth. The servers really nice and ambiance of the restaurant felt very laid back. Delicious authentic Honduran food, not Americanized. It helps to speak Spanish here but I got by pretty well on what I do know. The portions were plentiful and the prices were low, I thought. We enjoyed our balesedas so much and quite underestimated the size of them. One is plenty for one person. The road we walked along from our hotel to get to Patio Tipico was very busy so that was unnerving but it was only a few blocks. My pina colada was good! This is also a good place for entertainment, they have Karaoke during the weekend and some days during the week as well.
