I have used the Patrick MINI Service department several times to service a 2008 MINI Cooper S. Most recently, I used Patrick to service a fuel pump issue and to buy and install new tires. The bottom-line with Patrick MINI is they provide solid, efficient service and maintenance in a timely manner. Service appointments are easy to make, either through the web or by phone, and they often have same day appointments or next day appointments available. Whenever I need to make an appointment, I usually take advantage of their free car loaner program, which is a nice perk. I can drop my car off in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day. Otherwise, the lobby waiting room has free Wi-Fi and coffee for quicker appointments when I decide to stay. It's easy to bring a laptop and get work done while you're waiting. In my experiences, all of the staff has been cordial and helpful. All of the service staff that I've worked with have been very responsive and quick to call with any vehicle status updates. They will often present a lengthy list of suggested/recommended service tasks after inspecting the vehicle, but there is never any pressure to complete any unnecessary service/maintenance functions. They will always break into tiers what tasks are absolutely essential and which are optional to complete. The main benefit of using Patrick MINI (and any qualified factory dealer) is the quality of parts and services. You are getting high quality original equipment parts approved by MINI/BMW. Of course the mechanics are all certified MINI experts, so the work is done competently. The only negative, though, is cost. Using any factory service shop will always be expensive. There definitely is a high cost involved, but as clichéd as the saying is, you truly do get what you pay for. I am fine paying a bit more than if I went to a local neighborhood 'Mom and Pop' body shop, because I have the confidence and assurance that the service work will be done extremely well the first time. I have never had any issues with poor quality work or problems not being fixed at Patrick. In summary, Patrick MINI is a solid place to go for great car service. Just be aware that the cost will be expensive. For me, great MINI service and high quality of work is worth the price and Patrick is my go to dealership for MINI service. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars.. DO NOT LEASE from Patrick Mini. I leased about 3 years ago and had no issues. Now that my lease is coming up, they are consistently pushing all this work that needs to get done on the car and annoyingly calling me to come in to discuss my options for a new mini. When I came in last week for an oil change everything was fine, but then my splash shield below the car started randomly scraping on the ground. I come back in to ask them to fix it since I did not have this issue before the oil change. They are claiming that it has nothing to do with them even though they DID NOT tell me there was an issue at the oil change. You'd think a reliable mechanic would be able to tell the divets are completely off.. Kate at the service counter was being very rude and making me feel dumb by talking down to me about the situation. I will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as my lease is over in a month (can't come soon enough). read more

I bought my mini in Colorado and recently moved out to Chicago and was super bummed that the closest mini dealer was so far away. However, they totally make up for it by having a service that they'll drive a loaner car to Chicago and swap you and then drive your car back to their service center. They were very friendly, helpful and re-checked every concern I had about my car (my navigation had a faulty drive). The loaner they gave us was a fun Cooper S which is another reason I love having a Mini, the loaners are always Minis. Overall, great experience at Patrick Mini as far as the service side goes... and from what I could tell it would probably be a great buying experience there too! read more

Ok...we have been curious about Mini Coopers for a while now. Monday December 26th we made the trip to Patrick Mini in Schaumburg to learn about them and drive one. We were met at the door by a lovely salesperson named Anna. Anna immediately welcomed us and offered her assistance. We explained our desires and what we needed out of a Mini Cooper. Anna immediately walked us out to the used lot and showed us several Mini's we could choose from. We took a few test drives and fell in love with a 2013 Velvet Silver Metallic hardtop model. Anna was incredibly supportive of our needs and was extremely knowledgeable about the car. She let us test drive the car a couple of times so that we would be sure of what we wanted. We compared automatic to manual and decided on the auto. She explained to us in great detail about the cost, the financing, and the warranty information. She introduced us to the finance manager Joe, who walked us through the details of our financing. He was cool and a White Sox fan on top of it..BONUS! We signed our paperwork and our car was ready in 10 minutes. Anna sat in the car with us and walked us through every single control and feature. She was so friendly and patient. At no time did I feel I was dealing with a typical salesperson. She was more like a friend that loves Mini Coopers and simply wanted to share her love with us. It's been two and a half weeks now and I have to say that we absolutely love our Mini. It has not failed to impress us once. We have driven all over the northern part of Illinois and only gone through one tank of gas. I originally wanted the manual transmission but my wife hasn't learned stick yet so we went with the automatic. I'm glad we did...it's just as much fun to drive and a lot easier to handle a cup of Starbucks while driving. We got a cream puff, low mileage, well maintained, used car that we absolutely love. We couldn't be happier with our purchase and will be back for the stick Mini next year. Oh, and they say if you don't want to buy a Mini Cooper, don't test drive a Mini Cooper. Worse service ever. Just went to the dealer service dept. to ask about some clear coat coming off my car (2009) Cooper and the tech without checking stated that that hood was re-painted, that it was not the original paint. Tried to tell him that was impossible since I'm the original and single owner of the car, and that was never involve in an accident. The tech stated "I know, this is not the original paint, I know" in front of another two tech, one working with him and another walking by. I asked to pull the file and check before making that statement, finally came out to check the paint thickness and quote the numbers were from manufacturer, yet never apologized for false on the flight and completely out of place statement, yet later said that wasn't covered, too old. Felt like I just got insulted, accused and without the right of saying otherwise, because "he knows". I tried to mentioned that he should not make comments or statements like that without facts. But, no luck. I own two mini coopers, both I got from the same location. NO MORE. Two week ago similar at Patrick BMW, tried to make a purchase, waited 15min for a sales person, not one came by all too busy chatting, empty offices, waited and nothing, walked out and got a different car the next day at a different dealer and much more reliable brand, with outstanding customer service and car performance. read more

This is the dealership I will stick with! I had a headlight issue with my Mini that actually occured right before I was going to be in the Chicago area for a conference. I really debated about where to go for service. I had been to both places for service and really preferred Patrick however, the other dealer was on the way. So I arranged for a loaner car and made the appointment at the dealership, that was a little closer. It was downhill from there. It all began with the confirmation email, confirming a completely different day, time and no loaner car. When I called back during business hours to question this, speaking with the same person, it was quite unbelievable. It was like I had never called before. I kept explaining I was going to be IN a conference I would need to drop the car off before of after, she would then say, "How's 2pm". I felt like I was on candid camera. After further bizarre discussion, I was on hold to see if she could find me a loaner car and was disconnected. When I called back, she stated, they didn't have any loaner cars and she'd already said that. Wonder what I was holding for. Anyway, I asked her if I could call her right back. In the meantime, I called Blake at Patrick and explained situation. He worked me in, and got me a loaner, without a hitch! I cancelled that appointment, and will keep my business at Patrick Mini. Side note, my headlight was a component, and my mini had too many miles, so my Headlight change appointment turned into me buying another Mini Cooper!! I really love my Mini Cooper! read more

I've had my 2005 Mini Cooper for about 7 years now and have brought it to Patrick a couple of times. My family has been loyal Patrick BMW customers for over a decade, so we thought Mini would be just as good. While the customer service has been relatively friendly and they provide complimentary rides to Woodfield while you wait, as of late, I have been disappointed in them and their crazy prices. To start, I had to have my radio replaced 3 times when I was still under warranty which wasn't a big deal until I recently went to a local Pep Boys for a quick oil change and they told me my battery was being drained by the radio while the car was off. With only a 30 day warranty on labor and 2 years on parts, there wasn't much I could do but bring it in. Called the service department and they said they would look at it, but failed to communicate anything to me about having to leave my car for a couple nights so they could check. I drove all the way from Chicago only to turn back around since I didn't have a ride back. Next, an apparent fault with these cars are WATER LEAKS (did that get your attention??) which they said would cost over $3K to fix for the damage. I was told that the insurance might cover some of it, but my company said that my rates would obviously increase. For a car with only 46K miles, I am extremely disappointed that this would be an issue and according to other sites, it is a reoccurring one for Minis. If this is a frequent issue to the point that they know that insurance companies would cover it, why is it such a pain in the wallet and frustratingly a defect that they wouldn't cover? But maybe I'm expecting too much from how much they've gone above and beyond with their bimmer customers. Going to get a second opinion since their price is half of what the car is even worth. Like I said, nice people but can't help but feel nickeled and dimed with the radio and now my roof. read more

We purchased our second mini, a clubman, in 2008 from Patrick. As with our first Mini, we "built" our car on the Mini website and lined up the financing with Capital One (Capital One had a better interest rate than Patick could come up with). So there wasn't much in the way of discussions. We were put through the sales pitch for extended warrentee etc but overall a good result. We had purchased our earlier mini from Jacobs with pretty much the same result. The difference came with the service. Their service folks have been great! When my low tire light went on I stopped by the service center and they fit me right in. Turned out it was just the sensor that needed to be rebooted. When we were hit in the rear while stopped at a red light by some moron who was too busy texting instead of driving, Patrick took the car in and did an outstanding job of fixing the damage. We will definitely consider Patrick when we come to purchase our Countryman. read more

Patrick Mini is first class from start to finish. I can confidently report this because 1 week ago I turned in my Clubman after a great 3 year lease experience and I picked up my new Countryman. The facility is beautiful, the sales staff (I highly recommend Maria Makris) is wonderful. Maria has facilitated both Mini purchases and I would send my children to her to purchase a new or used Mini. That's how much I trust her. You will be very pleased with Patrick Mini Service Department. Bill Oswald, Patrick Mini's Service Manager, really cares. He was on top of every service need and contacted me for feedback after each service event. The guys who picked up and dropped off my Clubman were bright young pros in the making. Like I said, a class act from start to finish. My Clubman was a fine car. It's tight, fast, and depedable. If you are thinking Mini, whether the original Mini Hardtop, Clubman or the new Countryman (which I love, love, love) by all means, go to Patrick. they are the best I've dealt with and I've seen plenty of em. I recently purchased my second Mini Cooper Hardtop at Patrick Mini. And once again I had the pleasure of working with Christina. This time around I decided to have my car tailored made for me. Christina is incredibly knowledgeable about ALL of the features of the Mini models. She took the time to review each option and showed me many of them in the different cars at the showroom. I am pretty sure we sat in every car! What was even more impressive was that I could tell she was focused on what was best for me. I never felt any pressure or 'up-selling.' She was completely genuine. When my Mini arrived, Christina notified me immediately and forwarded me all of the financial documents to minimize my wait time at the dealership. I found this incredibly thoughtful. Christina took the time to sit with me in my new car to explain all of the features. She helped me connect my phone, set my radio presets, and program the navigation system. Her knowledge and experience was evident. The whole experience was completely stress free! Christina was amazing from start to finish. I may be the only person to ever hug their car salesperson. Yesterday, I picked up my Mini Cooper at a Mini dealership and they confirmed what I already knew about Patrick Mini. They are horrible! For those of you who have not read my posts, I took my Mini in for minor repairs and Patrick Mini totaled my car by accident. When I returned from shopping, they told me that they would repair it and give me a loaner until it was fix and they did. They fixed the body of the car. However, they did not fix the hood (convertible). I didn't discover this until the summer. When I took my car back to Patrick, of course they denied that it was their fault. However, the Mini cooper dealership yesterday confirmed that it was! They said that my hood does not work due to a plate that was crushed from an apparent accident. My car has only had ONE accident and it took place at Patrick Mini. They also told me it cost $5,000 to $6,000 dollars to repair it! What makes this even worse was that I wasn't even driving my car at the time. Don't buy your Mini from Patrick Mini. They are horrible at cleaning up their messes. read more

Ever since buying my mini in 2004, I've gone back to Patrick Mini for servicing, despite the drive to Schaumburg, which is pretty much always an inconvenience for someone who lives in the city. While my car was under warranty, I figured at least I was getting my money's worth, even when I would have to be there for 3-4 hours to get certain things repaired (steering fluid pump, power window motor), plus the almost hour-long commute each way. On my most recent visit, I spent over $600, for scheduled maintenance, a new tire and a complete replacement of the rear trunk electronic opening plate and wiring. Prior to my visit, my Service Engine Soon light kept coming on, so I assumed this was something that would be looked at during my scheduled maintenance. I can't recall if it was still on when I pulled into the service bay. Anyway, when they finished up, I noticed the Service Engine Soon light was on. But, hey, they're Patrick Mini, who services hundreds of Minis a week, so I figure they must know what's up, and I drove home. I went in to take my emissions test last week, and because a certain sensor was not working (hence why my Service Engine Soon light was on), I failed the emissions test. So, this was going to require yet another long trip and back to Schaumburg, but I thought "Well, I might be cashing yet another day off work, but at least I won't be charged anything for their mistake." Wrong. I called to complain, and ended up getting into a dispute with the service manager, who claimed that because I didn't tell them the damn CES light kept coming on that that wasn't something they were supposed to check. Uh, isn't that the whole point of ROUTINE MAINTENANCE? To check all the shit that should be checked, and not just specifically what I tell them to? I'm not sure how the mechanic who worked on the car and drove it around to the front afterward could have missed it, but he did. And now Patrick Mini wants me to pay for another service call for something that they missed. So, that's it. I'm done trekking all the way out to Schaumburg for high-cost, sub-par service work. UPDATE: Having experienced the below, I bought my fully loaded mini at another Chicago dealer where I received the trade in amount my car was worth! In the words of Juila Roberts in Pretty Woman "Big Mistake, HUGE! I have more shopping to do!" Having been to the autoshow I was ready to buy a fully loaded Cooper S convertible and basically they let me walk out the door. The salesman was very helpful and let me test drive everything and answered all my questions but basically I got the feeling they don't really care if you're going to buy or not and there were some contradictions. 1. They never took my info so I know they will not be following up with me unless they send me something via snail mail to the address on my driver's license. 2. The value offered on my trade in was a joke. It was $2k less than the Fair/Poor condition on Edmunds or Kelley Blue Book. My car is more like Good to Excellent. When I told them I was insulted they said maybe they could up some or adjust the price on the new mini I wanted. Ok fine I'll play the game, give me the $2k back somewhere........still to me it's kinda shady, just tell me up front what it's worth and don't low ball me I have my print outs from Edmunds and KBB. The irony is my dad traded in the same year/model mazda with more miles and less features and got more than they offered me and his had less amenities (no leather, no sun roof etc). SHADY!!! 3. They had only 1 convertible in stock....fine it's February so obviously I'll need to build one I want online and then determine price. 4. I build one online and say so what's the price and I'm told oh everything is MSRP. So where is that adjustment you were talking about? So then I asked if it's all MSRP, why wouldn't I just go shop around to all the chicagoland mini dealers and get the best trade in price since I can order my custom mini from any of them....I was told b/c of their service. Really your service that is INCLUDED for the first 36K miles. 5. I said I have to think about it and I'm going to shop around as there are 2 other dealers very convient for me and they were totally fine with that and let me walk. 6. THis is what bugged me most, throughout everything, I could see the salesman checking in to his manager's office and not ONCE did the manager come out to even say hello and I heard no bargaining. I had an absolutely horrible experience there. I drove home from California for the holidays. I slid into a snow bank in AZ on the way there and had taken my Mini in to get it looked at, and oil change and a couple other minor repairs inside the car. I made an appointment online and requested a loaner car. My parents live an hour away from the dealership. When I got to the dealership I explained what I wanted done and asked for the loaner car. There were two guys working in service and dealt with both of them, both rude! They didn't have a loaner for me and told me that I had to make an appointment, although I did, that was 2 weeks away! When my car was finished, they explained to me that I had major damage to my front sway bar - $1400.00, Two oil leaks - $600.00, spark plugs - $270.00. WOW! That was not good news...They were both very rude, short and didn't explain anything very well. I know how a car works and they acted like I could barely turn it on! They NEVER even fixed my other minor repairs inside, nor did they clear the service needed light. They wanted me to come back in 2 weeks to get all that fixed. I had my car looked at by a private mechanic in IL and he confirmed one small oil leak - $200.00 and that they car will make it back to CA, which it did. I have a great Mini dealership in CA and am taking the car in to get double checked. I was extremely disappointed in not only the service but the ethics of this dealership. Real shame. read more

I purchased a used Mini Cooper from Motorwerks Honda in Barrington. I had several dealers to choose from and finally settled on Motorwerks because I got the best deal AND they have a good reputation. (My parents bought their car here when I was a kid.) Used car negotiating can be hard, but it was fair and easy with them. However, we did have one glitch at the end in regards to only ONE set of key for my new car, but Ziggy (the sales Mgr) made it all good. I would buy another vehicle from here. read more

Best Car Purchase Experience I have purchased over 10 vehicles in my life and have never had a more efficient and positive experience than purchasing a used vehicle through Patrick Mini/BMW. My salesperson was Matt Kinsella who was responsive to my calls and followed through with everything that was promised to me over the phone. Without seeing either vehicle, he negotiated a very aggressive price of the car I was purchasing as well as matching top dollar offered to me by other dealers for my trade-in. When I presented the trade-in, they honored the price over the phone without batting an eye. I was late for a family meeting and they did everything possible to move the process along quickly. I forgot the sales manager name but he was pleasant, honest and efficient as well and quickly came to meet me, verify price and that everything met my needs. No cheesy haggling whatsoever. I can't stress enough how honest they were and how they never used any tactics that I have seen other dealers use to attempt to better their profits. Treated me respectfully and professionally the entire time. Since the car I was purchasing had just come off a trade-in less than 24 hours prior, Matt did everything to get it back from the detailer so that I could see it for the first time when convenient for me. Then after purchasing they put me in a BMW loaner and Matt appropriately followed up to ensure the detailing was completed, wheels refurbished and a couple minor repairs completed at the Audi dealer (it was a used Audi with a couple of warranty repairs needed). I recently bought a BMW from Patrick Mini (about 3 months ago). Normally I hate dealing with salespeople at all and dreaded the idea of dealing with a car salesman. My fears were unfounded here. The whole experience was professional from top to bottom. My salesman, Justin was great. At no point did I feel pressured to buy anything. He was very knowledgable and "hands off" with the whole process. When it came time to purchase he didn't try to upsell me any added packages. Simply informed me of the options, what they would cost and which ones he felt were worth purchasing and which ones probably weren't in my particular circumstance. I normally don't write reviews but as its been several months and Justin and the dealership are still in contact with me ensuring that everything is going well I felt I should give them their due.
