We purchased our first Mini Cooper from Patrick Mini yesterday and it was by far the most enjoyable process we ever had buying a car. Fortunately, there was the exact model in stock that we wanted - pre-owned but with an amazingly low number of miles, and they worked with us to get the deal done with no fuss and at a price that was less than average market price. Noe was a great representative for the Mini brand; he was very friendly, helpful, and attentive to answer all our questions, but was never pushy or aggressive - which we appreciated. Zain, the Finance Manager, really listened to our concerns and needs and structured a suitable loan/warranty that also kept the cost low. All in all, we agreed the entire process was more of a friendly sit down than a tense back-and-forth negotiation session, which we had experienced in the past at other dealerships. There was a good vibe the whole time - even just the salespeople wearing casual clothes and sneakers made it seem more relaxed and comfortable. Did I just give a car dealership 5 stars? Really? Yes I did! This is more a review of Maria, than it is of Patrick Mini. She was real patient, went through the databases for me several times to show me my options, and even went to the trouble of trying to poach cars I liked from other dealers :) Finally, after about 10 days of having met up to test drive a MINI, I walked out yesterday with my shiny little red Cooper. The finance department was fast and very efficient, there was no waiting for managers or haggling over rates and options. Overall, it was a great buying experience. Adam was a real straight shooter, and took his time to show me around the lot in hopes of finding something that suited me. I purchased a used Mini Cooper from this dealership last year and within one month of owning it it started leaking oil. It turns out that it needed a new vaccum seal pump and new tires and needed $1,500 worth of work. I admit I should have purchased an extended warranty... but one month after buying it it has problems.. one month. I was pressured to buy the Mini as it "won't last long, so please put down a deposit" and when we called our salesman, Max Kinsella, to report the problems, he said that he would talk with management and call us "right back" to see if they could help us with the repairs and low and behold, we haven't heard back from him. We purchased a Mini Cooper S Countryman in July of 2014. We have to say that we love our Mini! We ordered it so that it is exactly what we want. We enjoyed working with our salesperson and our purchase was smooth and enjoyable. We have driven our Mini to the Smokies and Atlanta a handful of times as well around the Great Lake states. It was reassuring to be able to take our Mini into an Atlanta dealership when an alert light came on (filter replacement). We make use of the Patrick service department often as we like to make sure our Mini is well taken of. We have found the service department to be fantastic, whether it was routine maintenance, or asking about tires (even ones Patrick does not sell), or asking about damage after someone lost a tire at highway speeds and it hit us (pinned by traffic). If you are thinking about drinking the Mini Kool-Aid, and you should if you like to motor, then Patrick is a dealership that you should consider. read more

We have been coming to Patrick for years. We have a BMW X5, M3, and most recently a 2008 Mini Cooper Type S - this review is only for Patrick Mini Service. Patrick Mini Service is fast and efficient. They are always so friendly and accommodating. My dad is the main person for all our vehicle's needs - in that he's responsible for maintaining them, bringing them in when needed, etc. I'm most impressed of the high level of customer service he receives and in turn, as do I. Unpretentious car buying! They know what they are selling and they dont push you to make a deal. The other mini dealer sales associate pushed and pushed and when I couldn't decide, she walked away mumbling under her breath. I felt like a moron. I left and a few days later went to Patrick. Me my wife and two children went into Patrick Mini on a Saturday with the intention of test driving a few modules to narrow down what my wife wanted. We were greeted by Bibiana Reyes as we walked into the showroom. After Ms. Reyes educated us on the different models, we decided to buy a 2018 Clubman on the spot. If it weren't for Bibiana and the friendly no hassle staff, we would have not left with a car that day. I am pleased to say almost the entire staff was female, and they were a force to be reckoned with. The sales manager was also a female, but her name escapes me. I had to bring the car back on Monday to have the hood (aka bonnet) striped, and the service writer, clerk and manager were all female. For the first time ever, I enjoyed the process of buying a new car. It was so nice not to have a sleazy car salesman give me and my family the ole wink and Roy Rogers pistol hip shot. We will absolutely be return customers as long as their staff stays on par. I tip my hat to all of the strong women on their staff. I filled out a pre-qualification application online with Patrick Mini. I specifically asked the online support staff if this was a soft pull on my credit score or a hard pull. After 3 times asking in the same conversation, I was told that the pull was a soft pull. I wanted a soft pull until i test drove the vehicle. Then, an hour or two later, i received an alert that a credit report was requested from Patrick Mini. And reviewing it, i realized they did a hard pull which lowered my score. I didn't authorize them to do a hard pull. I now have lost the trust in this business relationship especially if this is the beginning. I was then told that in order to get a pre-qualification, they HAD to pull my score and report. I know for a fact its not necessary. Capital one and others can do it without affecting the score. I would have even accepted an approximation rather than a hard score pull. This situation infuriates me. They called and asked me what they can do to rectify the situation. My response is....Keep the car, and, be honest in your business practices. In this current world we live in , transparency and honesty would be best. read more

I had a salesman who quoted me a certain price my my trade-in and when I came back the next day to compete the deal, he said he never gave me that number. When I went to the sales manager, he called him to verify. I heard the salesman mention the number over the phone. He was speaking rather loudly. The sales manager would not honor the trade $. It was an absolutely embarrassing lack of customer service. A high level of disconnect between the truth and used car salesman mentality. Get with it Keith and Ivan. You lost a sale to Field's Mini. $42,000 car purchased from them because of respect. I'd never recommend you, in fact I'd say it was a bait and switch. Get some people who know how to treat a customer. Anna was the only who even tried to make it happen. read more

Before I get into a long post about an experience, we had three years ago the short of it is, we were lied to. Told we had a lease (it's called Mini Select or something like that), but it was balloon payment type of deal. We take responsibility for our part because we should have caught it, but we didn't until it was time to either turn in my Mini or buy it. As we sat at a different Mini dealership, they expressed their frustration as well because they could clearly see the shady humans here lied. We have no proof because what we saw and heard is like a game of telephone. But we know dishonest people exist. It was the one time we had a terrible experience with Mini. North Carolina and now Florida rocked. Patrick Mini was horrible, and we did report this to the appropriate people. Also interesting when BMW Financial states quite a few complaints come from Illinois with the same issue. It doesn't matter because I'm sure the salesman and financial guy aren't even there anymore. The entire experience was gross. Just be aware, read everything, and ask questions. read more

I have a 2010 Mini Cooper and have taken it to Patrick Mini for service since I purchased it. Two days after I purchased it, the check engine light went on and it needed a new catalytic converter -- really?? But I have to say the level of service at Patrick is excellent. Very easy to get an appointment, the service personnel are extremely helpful, and explain all options in detail. I've used a loaner vehicle twice and the shuttle service once -- making having my car unavailable a non-issue. My most recent visit was for overall maintenance and I was advised to consider replacing my tires. There was no pressure, and I was given the necessary information to make the decision. Once again, extremely professional and informative service. My only less than positive comment is the relatively high service cost at Patrick Mini. However, in the long run, I believe the level/quality of service, the professionalism of the staff, the availability of a loaner/shuttle, and the very pleasant waiting area more than compensate for the cost. read more

Everyone knows how long it takes to buy a car it's hours but she was so fun to talk to and spend half the day with it went by quickly. She got me a great deal on the car and I couldn't be happier. This review is only about the service department. I didn't buy from Patrick sales, so don't know what they are like to deal with. I have a Mini 2014 that I purchased new at a Mini dealership in Illinois. It's had a number of minor and a couple major recalls and a variety of issue that have needed service attention. The staff at Patrick Mini service department has been extremely helpful consistently. I know at least once or twice I have been grumpy with them (having a new car that's failing stinks!), but they have never responded with irritation back my way. Rather, they are helpful, courteous, and professional. The work they have done has always been effective. What I've need done has all been covered, so I've not had to pay for service. Patrick's service department staff have always helped get me scheduled (I have lived a great distance from any Mini dealer/service and Patrick is located near a place I relatively frequently visit; I need to schedule service to coordinate with other travel, and Patrick staff are helpful in managing that), they are good about getting me a loaner if the job will take a while, they get the work done in a reasonable time, and the mechanics complete the work effectively. read more

I bought a Clubman about 3 years ago that had been a loaner - it had about 15K miles on it. At the time, I thought I had gotten a good deal. I was told by my "motoring advisor" and by the "business manager" that the warranty period would begin at my purchase date, even though the car had miles on it. What they said was "they will make it new for me." But when I recently brought it into service at another dealer, they assured me that was incorrect - showing me numerous computer screens and documents that showed the warranty ticking down long before I bought it. And that it had long since expired. Should I have paid closer attention to what was written, and not what was said? Sure. But such a smarmy lie! Such an auto-dealer cliche! Don't fall for the smiles - they will still say what they need to close a deal. Everyone expects a sales person to emphasize the positive and downplay the negative. That's natural. But there was no grey area here: what they said just outright contradicted the truth. If you go here, watch every detail like a hawk. read more

Horrible experience; car was misrepresented & staff unreliable. We called and asked a few questions since we're out of state. The salesperson didn't call back. This should've been the end, but we called again and reached a different salesperson. We stressed the importance of the car's condition--exact words being "tell us about any scratches and dents and we'll decide whether they're important." The salesperson said the car was in excellent shape, no scratches or dents, nothing to worry about. We drove six hours to the dealership with check in hand, only to find significant scratches & a dent on the bumper, a dent in the door, paint damage on the side mirror, broken gas cap, a white substance splattered on one of the speakers that wouldn't come clean, and the clutch "clicking" when depressed. None of this appeared in any of the photos or description. While incredibly condescending, the general manager said they would fix some of the problems, but we'd have to drive back again the next week to pick it up. We no longer trust them to meet the quality standards they promise. Everyone we dealt with at this dealership seemed to be careless; from the sales staff to the porters who put minimum effort into cleaning the car. Waste of an entire day, over $100 in gas, and $60 in tolls. Could have been prevented if someone had actually looked at the car before trying to sell it. Want to read more? I can only speak about the service dept. because I didn't buy the car here. I live and work in Chicago so I usually take my car to Mini of Chicago (I won't mention their name again in this review) which I thought was awesome until I found Patrick Mini to compare them to. The other guys were fine until I heard a rattling noise after they had done a repair I called them right back and they even had their mechanic ride along with me to listen for it. I was sitting there with the mechanic explaining to him that it didn't used to sound like an old tractor or a diesel engine. All he could offer me was "That comes with the age of the vehicle, just can't be avoided." I desperately wanted a second opinion because I know that cars that make noises are trying to tell you something, so I sent an email to Blake Cotten of Patrick Mini and explained the sound coming from the engine along with a video. He was able to do an unofficial diagnostic over email. These are good guys who are easy to deal with and with communication skills unmatched by any other dealer services. They made it easy for me to understand what was going on with my car. In other words, these guys actually do what the sales sheet says when a company talks about itself. The other guys are good, but these guys have shown me that there's always someone else that's doing things better. read more

I had service done on my car at Patrick Mini In Schaumburg, IL on 8/25. I had a check engine light and the car was running rough. They said problem was due to incorrect spark plugs and low oil due to 2 small leaks. Had oil leaks repaired and correct spark plugs installed. Days later same problem resurfaced. Now they were saying iI needed a new timing belt. Since I had been told the other work would fix my car (and it was at the upper limit of what I was willing to pay to repair the car) I was unwilling to do the additional work and would like a refund for the work that was done since it didn't fix the problem. I reason I brought it to a Mini dealer is because I had the expectation they would know how to diagnose and fix my car. The service manager called me to try to resolve my complaint on 9/4/2014 and said he would call back the next day which he didn't. After emailing another inquiry to Mini, The service manager called me on 9/17/2014 and after a lengthy discussion, The dealer would not accept any responsibility or offer any solution. I asked for credit for the original repair since it didn't fix the problem I brought the car in for. Had I been told that these repairs may or may not fix the problem, but were needed to be done as the first step to diagnosis, I would not have an issue. My issue is that the I was told these repairs would fix the problem I brought my car in for, which it didn't. My request for credit was not honored. Do not go to Patrick Mini for service since they will not guarantee the service performed will fix the problem you brought the car in for. read more

AMAZING SERVICE AND SUPPORT! I was driving through Schaumburg on my way home to Madison, Wisconsin in my 2015 MINI. In one moment, I realized three things (1) It was likely to rain while I was on the highway; (2)I had no windshield wiper fluid; and (3) (I am embarrassed to say), in the two years since I bought the car, my husband had kept the supply of fluids and took the responsibility for service. I did not know how to open the hood, let alone resupply the window shield wiper fluid. Believe it or not, I look across the street, and there was PATRICK MINI. I went in, and Anna and Vince came to my rescue. They gave me a supply of fluid, they changed the fluid, and they made me feel comfortable and told me that I should not be embarrassed. I was off in 5 minutes. I bought my MINI in Madison, but I can imagine they are great with sales and service. After today, I know they provide outstanding support, above and beyond. When deciding to purchase a 2017 Cooper JCW last August, the decision was easy. Patrick offered me the best price and easily had the best service. Anna continued to go above and beyond during the ordering process to keep me informed and really took care of me during delivery. The car was fully detailed and stunning. I called the next day to try and speed up the car delivery to find out they sold the car from underneath me...they never gave me an explanation on why, their customer service was terrible. Let's talk about the service department, or should I say lack of service. I have taken my 2003 Mini Cooper here on three occasions. The first time they ran diagnostics on it, several problems were found. Which I wasn't too surprised about, it was right after I purchased the car from a private party (3rd owner). Needless to say their labor is off the charts. Expect a charge of $185 to just look at your car. So I bought most of the parts myself and fixed the issues. Round two: they "ran diagnostics" again, after I had fixed most of issues myself. Apparently my car still had these issues. Had them fix the compressor that shorted out, $2000. Round 3 (and most recent): horrible awful noise coming from the engine bay, sounded like a diesel Jetta. Personal diagnosis with the help of YouTube was the horrid death rattle. Which was a broken timing chain or the assembly was busted. A BIG job. So take it in, they run diagnostics again. Alternator is seizing up. Had them replace this, thank god it wasn't the broken timing chain. But anyway, they also list off the first set of issues with the car. Like $8000 worth of work, that mind you I had fixed myself. So they don't really look at your car. Period. Seriously. What a joke. They are nothing more than a DEALERSHIP, don't bring your mini here to get worked on. But the drawback of owning a mini in the US is there is like no one with the specialized tools to work on your car, and then if you wanna do it yourself. You pay a million dollars to buy them. Minis are awesome cars, dealerships and their service department should be equally awesome. Patrick mini is not as equally awesome as the cars. So unfortunate. read more

This dealership does everything within its power to satisfy a customer....and then some! The last time I got my car serviced, a small scrap of paper (that had the address of where I was going next) that was on the passenger seat, accidently got disposed of, when they cleaned the car (which they do everytime it is serviced!) ...the guys actually emptied the vaccum bag and were combing through all the debris before I realized what they were doing and told them to stop. I could get the address a different way. Last Week-end I had an emergency in that my car would not start, or respond to a jump. It was located in a tough neighborhood and was unsafe. The car was towed to the dealer from Chicago and I was immediately given a loaner car. Before I got back to Chicago, they called with the dignosis. A sensor which is located near the foot petal had gotten jolted out of place. As life goes...my warranty had expired only 3 days before and my Easter Week-end was totally ruined. Bill Oswald, the Manager on duty, covered the gas for the loaner car and the repair itself. Even though I would call a problem like this a "design" problem, in that I do not think a critical sensor should be located anywhere near where it can be kicked out of place, I felt Patrick Mini Service went out of their way to make it right. read more

My salesperson, Anna Sidiropoulos, got me such a good deal that when I ran it by another Chicagoland MINI dealer they told me to run and sign the papers before Anna changed her mind--it was THAT good a deal. So that's what I did. And not only did Anna pick me up and bring me to Patrick to sign paperwork, she brought me some snacks and checked in with me after I took my MINI home. I had a great buying experience at Patrick Mini. Maria was awesome. Last time I purchased a car I spent the whole day at the dealer. Maria did what she had to do, and I was in-out within 2 hours and that included the finance process. The showroom is spectacular with free amenities to include lightning fast WiFi. Once you drive out with your new car which is nothing but quality BTW, they continue to keep in touch. They have a bonnet to bonnet warranty that includes all recommended services for three years. Haven't paid for an oil change or air filter yet. I did have a bad fuse box (nothing is perfect) and they took care of it. Put me in a free loaner for the day and next day my car was done. The service department and techs are awesome. This is how a dealership should be managed. Next car I buy will be a Patrick Mini automobile. read more

I just bought a Countryman a few weeks ago. It was a great experience. No pressure. They really seem to love the product they sell. From start to finish I felt good about it.
