Customers pay alit of money to service their Rovers, and you get someone like her is not good for this dealership. I purchased a 2023 Certified Range Rover with 7400 miles in October 2024. The vehicle has a awful shake when you press on the brakes and has gotten worse and worse. I didn't notice this when I purchased it. I was taking it in to a local dealership for an oil change and asked them if they could take a look at my brakes. Well did and so did Firestone. They both stated that the rotors were warped. That is was strange to have rotors like this with so low miles of 14,000. They told me I needed to call the dealership and let them know. Plus, I've been a mechanic most of my life and have never seen this either. So I called the dealership and told the lady that answered what what going on, and she literally told me that at 14,000 it is time for new brakes and rotors. I couldn't believe what I was hearing from her. I asked to please talk to someone in the service department. She refused.... She told me to bring it there. I told her she 1.3 hrs away from and it wasn't safe. She then said, well get it towed. I have 2 reputable company's (that would let them know) telling what is wrong. I don't have to money to pay to get it towed all of the way there. She continued to argue with me. They told me this vehicle had a full inspection and was in mint condition!! So how about Northfield Dealership, stand by your word and make it right. This is ridiculous I have to get new brakes and rotors at 14,000 miles. DO NOT purchase from here. They will tell you what ever sounds good to sell. But really lie straight to your face. read more

Todd Schreiber is an excellent and patient salesman. As stated in my previous reviews, I was looking to replace a 2011 Mercedes-Benz that was becoming problematic and requiring repairs that were too expensive for me as a consumer. Todd was very patient over several months showing me different options from Jaguar Land Rover. My Mercedes-Benz developed a suspension problem that led me to tow it to Autohaus where I left it while deciding what I wanted to do. In May, I decided that the Jaguar F-Pace S was what I wanted to pursue in their lineup. Unfortunately, Fields' Jaguar Land Rover Northfield was not willing to match Carmax's offer, nor the offers of other local dealerships (most local dealerships match Carmax). Todd told me that I would have to bring the car in. Even so, the lease numbers presented to me were not competitive and all had a money factor markup, which is something that I am not going to pay when I qualify for the prime rate. Todd let me know via email that they were not going to be able to match Imperial Jaguar Lake Bluff's pricing because Imperial is part of a "Best Price First" program that Fields is not participating in. It wasn't worth it to me to bring in my trade for an evaluation with their pricing being so uncompetitive. That was the end of communication. I really wanted to work with Todd and Fields, but I guess they lost all interest in me as a consumer. Ultimately, I negotiated a deal on an Audi Q8 that I simply could not refuse. While Todd is a great salesman, I think Fields is an organization that rests on its laurels and takes advantage of its location on the North Shore where many consumers are willing to pay anything for what they want instead of shopping around for the best deal. Clearly, if you are prioritizing your bottom line, you should look elsewhere. The stars are all for Todd, not Fields. read more

Do yourself a favor and buy your vehicle from ANY other dealership. I have been treated like a second rate human being. I brought the car in to be serviced, and asked to receive a call back before any charges are incurred. I was told the transmission has a failing turbo. The cost to repair it is $4,000 and they can't get the part necessary to fix it for 4-6 weeks. There are no available loaner cars and they offered me no other solution. I called another dealership one town over who quoted out the same issue for $500 less and offered multiple solutions to help me. However, the part I'm most upset about is that I still haven't received a single call from the dealership, and they charged me $300 without communicating that any charges would be incurred. To top it all off, the manager mansplained to me the reason that he was right and I was wrong! Note to Land Rover and Fields Northfield: treat your customers with dignity and respect, regardless of their gender or age. And please for the love of god get a recycling bin. It's 2021. It took 2 days to change my oil. Bad me since it was during the mchanics's strike for higher wages and better working conditions. They don't accept American Express, no free wi-fi. They bought Imperial Motors -Wilmette. I don't know how many of the old customers were notified prior to the buy out because I wasn't. I didn't know about the change until I called to make an appointment for an oil change. My end price for the additional work needed was much lower than my estimate so I was extremely happy. The service manager, Anthony, was very friendly and remembered my husband's name despite meeting him only once. The service door(s) are numerous. We were told to drive to the rear/behind the building to enter the service bay. Did that. Once inside, I was told by a mechanic that I entered the exit door and the entrance was in the front. Not a good start to this new place for my beloved car. I saw a car wash in the back. I don't know if it's free. My car wasn't washed after repairs. Ugh. Other than that, the place is nice. I guess I'll bring my car and my money here instead of looking elsewhere. read more

Beware ! I took my Range Rover into this dealer for a oil change . We recently moved to the area and this dealership was very close to my new home. When I went to pick up my car , I was told I had a oil leak and they would send me a quote. When they sent the quote it was for $7650 .00 plus tax . I found it hard to believe a oil leak would cost that much . I immediately called the service manager at Knauz in Lake Bluff . I purchased my last two Range Rovers from them and have gone there for all my service. Knauz was able to fix my leak for $1200.00 . Needless to say I will continue to drive up to Lake Bluff for my service needs because they never try to take advantage of you! read more

I wanted to take a second to complement the staff at Land Rover. I put in a submission for three different Land Rover dealerships on a Friday evening and the Northfield one was the first one that actually got back to me promptly. Dennis Glauner Who is the one who helped us it made the process very efficient and seamless. We sent him our drivers license and insurance info on the way to the dealership so by the time we walked in there for a test drive he handed us the keys and said "see you in a little bit" didn't have to sit there and fill out paperwork or anything. Upon returning we had coffee and water and Dennis continued to make sure that we we're comfortable while we waited and he worked with extreme urgency. Obviously the process of buying a car is always nerve-racking but he gave us lots of great advice and helped calm the nerves during the process. In addition to that Garrett was extremely helpful upon going through all the documents to sign he was very informative, and comforting about our options when it came to additions like extra warranty, car washes etc. at no point was he salesy he was just very educational. Then Bob The tech guy helped us in the car with all of the different buttons and taught us how to hook up our phone etc. - he told us to reach out or call him directly if we need any help with anything. Overall I would say that it was a fantastic experience and was very happy that we drove 60 miles to get the car that we wanted. A salesman "did me a favor" getting up from his desk to help me. I asked for their best price, but a manager wasn't on duty. Took the salesman 3 days to get back to me. Called a few days ago on the same car, no surprise with this killer sales team, that it's still there. ****BEWARE**** BEAWARE**** DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM NORTHFIELD RANGE ROVER!!! I am in Texas and purchased an Range Rover SVR 90 DAYS AGO from MICHAEL WILSON and STILL have NOT received the license plates!! After countless texts and emails that have been IGNORED by the dealership. I call, send emails, and no one responds. We bought the car online, and had it shipped. We asked if the vehicle had been smoked in. The salesman said it had an odor of "cologne" but definitely not smoke. On arrival of the vehicle, after several days on the shipping truck with the windows up, we opened the door. A plume of cigarette smoke burned our nostrils. Disgusting. They lied. After a through inspection, we find many scratches all over the vehicle. We were told with a video that we still have that the car did not have a scratch on it. Lies. The vehicle also had illegal TINT on it. Not only here in Texas but Illinois as well. So we now have a very expensive, illegal car with NO LICENSE PLATES. And no one at the dealership that will answer. 90 DAYS with an unregistered SVR. The next steps are to file with the State of Illinois for illegal sales practice. Do not buy here. Especially out of state. They lie, take your money and STEAL your TAX (we paid for the registration) and leave you with a car you cannot drive. read more

My wife took our Land Rover in to have routine maintenance done, related to fixing recalled parts. The dealer somehow lost the key to the car. They think the person that washes cars there might have it, but they really don't know. Dealer doesn't seem too concerned. Ok, so now a key to our car is in unknown hands, and the person that has the key, knows where the car is currently, and if it's someone that has access to dealer records, they might know our address where the car typically is? Cool. I guess a key in unknown hands, by someone who potentially knows the address where that car is typically parked, is no big deal to this dealer. Horrible experience! I've been a customer of the Fields Automotive Group for more than 8 years (BMW), and never have I experienced a more uncomfortable experience than I did during my last visit. My service advisor, Kyle Alba, was the foremost reason for this awful experience. Background: *I brought my Range Rover in for service the morning of Friday, September 27th *I was greeted by Kyle and he immediately asked me where has my vehicle been serviced before (from the onset, he seemed quite vexed with me just being there), I told him that the vehicle was serviced at Howard Orloff Land Rover. I knew this detail because when I purchased the vehicle, (purchased on 07-06-19) I also bought an extended warranty through Carfax who sent me the vehicle history report showing Howard Orloff as being the dealer on record for service. I've never been to the dealership. *I later received a missed phone call at 12:09 PM while at work - I was unable to answer. *Received a follow-up call from Kyle at 5:38 PM and Kyle proceeded to inform me that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. He further stated that he has a very good friend in service that works at Howard Orloff, and his friend stated that the vehicle was brought in there for the same issue! He then asked, quite abrasively, "why didn't you take it back there?". I was completely taken aback at that question! He then asked me to describe the reason why I brought the vehicle in, I explained to him that their's noise from the front-end of the vehicle that sounds like a "pop", and sometimes "clicking" noise that I noticed the prior weekend when turning left. He then said "well, I will have the techs look at it again on Monday, but they've already put the vehicle on the lift and test drove it, and it's not duplicating the problem. We disconnected the call. *After sitting for a bit, uneasy feeling, I called the dealership back to speak to Kyle again. My goal was to get clarity around why Kyle wanted me to take my vehicle to Howard Orloff. When I finally connected with him (this was at 5:50 PM) I asked him was I supposed to have taken my vehicle to Howard instead of Fields? He immediately snapped back saying "If you heard what I said, I did NOT say that!" his voice had become increasingly sharp, almost strident. As I responded back (trying) to explain to him how I knew about where my vehicle was serviced, he kept insisting that I was wrong. At one point he cut me off and said: "CAN I FINNISH TALKING?" I could not believe the level of unprofessionalism and outright disrespect! I immediately hung up the phone. I called on Monday to speak with the Service Manager, Anthony Thommes. I explained the situation to Anthony and told him that I was no longer interested in dealing with Kyle. I was concerned that now after our unpleasant conversation, that I was worried that he would try to sabotage my vehicle or something else would come of this. I also let him know that I would like to test drive my vehicle with the service technician. Anthony invited me in, and the service tech and I went on a test drive. The problem was confirmed, and it was diagnosed that my vehicle's front axle needed replacing. It was later discovered that the front brakes had a bit of squeal and that there was grease escaping from the boot. This diagnosis directly contradicted the statement that Kyle gave me that Friday. To date, I have not received any apologies from Kyle, and I am concerned that if not corrected, this level of "service" will continue. No person, especially a devote customer of what could be considered a prestigious establishment, should ever feel devalued, disrespected, or otherwise nugatory. I have never had to write a review like this before, and I was reluctant at first, but I am hopeful that doing so would bring about some positive adjustments. read more

Honestly, the Service Department is so rude here. Ryan is so disrespectful, I can't even stand him. There's one nice service guy there: I forget his name, he is part Native American, young guy. He's the only nice one. So I came here back in June to get price quotes on my front bumper. I brought my vehicle in and showed it to the parts department manager and he said I only needed to order 2 parts, totaling $200 bucks plus another $300 for labor. Then I returned two weeks later and a different parts specialist inspected my vehicle. He told me that the quote I got from the manager was wrong and my new total is $2200 including paint, labor, and tax. That's honestly pathetic. They think they can just say oh By the way, your new total is $1700 more than before? Horrible service. Wouldn't return here for service. I came here to service department once and met with Ballard. He was playing word games regarding the warranty on a pre-owned LR2. That's why I didn't buy a vehicle here and actually ended up buying a Benz at Knauz instead. read more

Land Rover was probably the coolest car make in existence at one time. The BMW redesign was a good thing. But now that Ford has run the brand name into the ground by putting a crappy, unreliable Jaguar engine in these trucks and taking away all the details that made LRs look so good (have you seen the LR2?... if you wanted an Explorer, you'd save the money and buy one). Now they've given up completely by selling off the trademark to an Indian company. So why are you even looking to buy one of these? Probably because the Range Rover Sport is still the coolest looking SUV on the planet. Anyway, the main reason you pick one dealership over another is because of their service department, right? Well the service department at Land Rover Winnetka sucks outright. Everyone is friendly enough, but they're so disorganized and ass-backward that bringing your car in is a ridiculous chore. Expect to wait over a week for an appointment. If you want a loaner car, they'll be booked solid for over two weeks--this is a luxury car you've bought! You ought to be able to get a loaner any time you bring yours in. Once, I had to make an appointment a week in advance for an oil change. They were insistent that I have the car in by 9AM, which is an irritating policy. My sister lives around the corner, so I walked there to wait and gave them my cell phone number. Two hours later, having not heard from them, I had to call to find out if my car was ready. They hadn't even begun to work on it, and were literally surprised to see it sitting in the garage. They actually made me describe the car so they could figure out if they'd scheduled a tech to work on it yet.They had to loan me one of their employees cars (again--no loaners available) so I could go to work, and I wasn't able to pick the car up until almost 5PM. If you're in the northern suburbs often, it's pretty tempting to buy your car from any of the Fields Auto Group dealerships, because you're able to get free car washes (not to mention, free lunch!) at the bad-ass Infiniti dealership on Frontage Road. But it just isn't worth the service nightmare at Land Rover Winnetka. Do yourself a favor and take a ride up to Lake Bluff instead. The service department at Knauz is far superior. read more

After going back and forth between the new Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne, I decided I was going to test drive both SUVs back to back and stopped in at Land Rover Northfield in June. They had a few Sports in stock equipped with a multitude of options and colors to look at. Michael Broccolino, my Land Rover Specialist, took a lot of time explaining the new features of the Sport to me and explaining the differences in the options. After a test drive, I fell in love with the vehicle but wanted to make sure I was making the right choice. I told Michael we were comparing the Sport and Cayenne and he pulled up a used Cayenne for us to test drive right after the Sport. That afternoon I ordered my 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE in Yulong White Metallic. I picked up my new car just over two weeks ago and I couldn't be more pleased. Not only did Michael keep me informed every step of the way, but was just as excited as I was when the car arrived. I went to pick it up and Michael patiently went through all the options of the vehicle with me and made sure I was completely satisfied. Misty Reiser, Northfield's Business Manager, was a dream to work with in the finance department. She made sure we were comfortable with our finance terms and really went to bat for us to get a great rate. We left her office feeling comfortable and that we really understood the transaction. Misty truly made our car buying experience a breeze. It was refreshing to have such a positive experience while shopping for a ar here. Hands down, my car buying experience at Land Rover Northfield was the easiest, most pain free, and thoroughly enjoyable I have ever had. I've been to several Land Rover dealers and have had many experiences with bad service and cheesy sales people. That's not what I got at Land Rover Winnetka. They couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. No pressure. Excellent service. I have no idea what the other Yelpers are talking about. Either the dealer had a major overhaul there or they heeded some of the Yelps. This is not a shoddy dealership by any means and certainly worth taking another look if you were disappointed in the past. I recently had a Range Rover repaired there and the Service Manager, Joe Fuentes was OUTSTANDING. He bent over backwards to help me and get me a loaner and keep me updated on the repairs to my vehicle. He was so unbelievably reasonable and offered great advice on what service I needed on my car. What's silly is that I had the work done on my car and then I decided to trade it in! (I don't advise doing that! That was stupid!) The process couldn't have been easier or less stressful. The service department took me to the sales department. I was introduced to the Sales Manager, Ed and I was assigned a salesperson, Ballard. Talk about NO pressure. We drove three vehicles and they were in absolutely no hurry though it was 5:00 on the Friday before the Labor Day Weekend. I felt kinda guilty! Ballard talked honestly about the pros and cons of owning each vehicle and his knowledge was pretty amazing as he referenced each model year and the improvements Land Rover had made to each. What a refreshing way to buy a car! I paid for the car what it was worth. Kelly Blue Book listed it at the price I paid and I was very happy there wasn't any haggling or slick car-salesman talk. Clear and honest. Land Rover offered really low rates to finance the used car for 60 months. They will go as high as 72 months, but the interest rate goes up if you do that. There was nothing rushed about what best fit my financial needs. Buying a Land Rover can be a scary proposition if you don't have a warranty to back it up. Land Rover now has (maybe always had this?) a "Certified" program where they warrant certain vehicles that meet their requirements. This "extended warranty" is for 60 months (heads up --from the original purchase date!) or 100,000 miles. The vehicles are required to meet a certain standard or they can't sell them as Certified. Brakes and tires must all be new or like-new before they can sell it and I think the big "mileage checkup" needs to be completed as well. I bought a 2010 Range Rover and it's like new, especially after they "super detailed" it for me. I've bought many cars in my life and have seen more service departments than I'd have liked to, but finding Land Rover of Winnetka made the hassles of repairing and purchasing a vehicle an experience for which they should be commended. I give kudos where kudos is due. They deserved the 5 stars I gave them here on Yelp. read more

Didn't even waste my time pursuing business with them. First impressions DO matter. I spoke to 3 different people 1 front desk woman, 1 woman that I'm assuming was also front desk or reception, and 1 male sales person. ALL 3 had exceptionally annoyed, crappy, unfriendly, attitudes, and tones of voice. They made it obvious they were irritated and certainly gave off an impression of I could really care less about doing a good job or creating a welcoming impression. Please stay away from this dealer. You will thank me later. Bought a used Porsche from this dealer back in early December. #1. Purchased a used car warranty from them for over $6K. Financed it with them with the finance manager Evan Arena. Ended up cancelling the warranty the following week to get a full refund. 3 months later after numerous emails and phone calls. Still haven't received my money back and I'm paying interest on the $6K borrowed. #2. The Porsche had a broken horn when I bought it and they said they would get it fixed as part of the deal. The sales person Sam told me to wait and wait till they got the part. After over a month later, he finally scheduled me to come in and get my car fixed. I live over 30 mins away. Took the day off work to go to the dealer and the service manager said she knew nothing about any part being ordered. What a scam this dealer is! She even told me she would call me a week later after the part came in and they would get the car and fix it. No call. Ended up getting the horn fixed at a dealer on my own dime. Needless to say, i have filed a report with BBB and Attorney Generals Office and FTC. My recommendation is to stay as far away from this dealer as possible. read more
