Let me tell you something, I don't know if it's because this was my first meal of the day and I was hungry, but this restaurant slapped all my taste buds in a good way. I was craving some Mexican food and Patron Mexican Bar and Grill delivered. I ordered conveniently via online ordering. I got two of those crispy potato tacos, steak and shrimp (diabla style) and corn tortillas on the side. I appreciate how the shrimp was packed separately than the steak to separate the mixture of sauces and have a clean presentation. They provided some complimentary chips and salsa, so yum. Cut some of that steak, put some in the crispy potato tacos and added some in the corn tortilla with that shrimp in diabla sauce, guac and salsa. Ohhhhhh my my my did I enjoy every bit of that. The diabla sauce for the shrimps, delicious. When I order the camarones a la diabla dish at other restaurants the sauce tends to be salty. Not the issue here at all. I am very happy to stumble upon this restaurant in Camarillo and I will be back!!!!! read more

After a busy afternoon of garden touring, Dear Hubby, our good friend & neighbor, and I stopped in to have an early dinner and relax for a time. We'd never been to this place before. I did a quick Yelp look up for Mexican food, and this popped up as being very close to the last house on the tour. The interior is not that interesting; a little dark for my taste, given that we were there starting about 4:15 in the afternoon. In my humble opinion, it could use a bit of a glow up. Our server was very pleasant, and prompt to take care of us. We did have some questions about the menu, and I felt that he didn't fully understand some of my dietary queries. That left me concerned that I would end up with dairy cheese in my meal, which I unfortunately don't tolerate well. Although I didn't love the ambiance, the main downfall for me was the food. How many of us have gone to dive-y places that don't have much atmosphere, but have delicious food? Unfortunately, Patron had uninspiring cuisine. I ordered a tostada. The chicken was plentiful and tasty. The shell was over-cooked, though. The rest of the fillings were just so-so. Nothing about the flavors made me think, "Mmm, this is delicious!" Thankfully, our neighbor really enjoyed her meal, so I was happy on her behalf. The Dodger game was on, playing on the TV's in the bar, which also amped up her experience. 1. I called the restaurant to attempt to rectify their error however the phone provided goes to a recording that does NOT identify where I am calling. I did leave a message regarding problem as I am describing in this review. 2. We received 2/ 3 of the strawberry chimichangas we ordered so I need to be refunded. 3. The bean and cheese burrito was soaked in red sauce and there is nothing stating that it would be nor did we ask so my daughter did not eat it and I want to be refunded for that. *** I understand when food is delivered it will not necessarily be as hot or crispy as it would be if brought to our table, but maybe do not offer the strawberry chimichangas for delivery. Been a customer here for many years. This review is from Saturday June. 27 Disappointed to have Juan as my waiter again. Anytime I order Fajitas I want chopped Tomatoes instead of Pico De Gallo and every time Juan says to me "I don't know if we can do that" Wrong answer it should be no problem Tomatoes instead of Pico. Ordered Thousand Island dressing for my salad and got Balsamic Vinegar. I kept the Balsamic to try it. I asked Juan if the Fajitas come with Rice, Juan said yes, Juan never told me they also come with Beans. If I new they came with Beans I would have ordered a double order of Rice. There was only 4 tables being served at this time. The only reason I left 15% tip was because of the lady that was helping Juan bring the water and chips. Also the air conditioner was off and you can feel the heat inside. Maybe Juan was more interested in the Soccer match that was on TV. Go somewhere else and spend your money avoid this place. Horrible horrible horrible We just ate here and my husband received a salad with his meal and when we got it, it was on the smallest plate and had about 7 pieces of lettuce... when I started looking around, everyone else that received their salads had a larger portion on a bowl, so I questioned the next wait staff and he said " oh they added avocado ".. I looked at my husband and said that makes no sense. Salud! I don't know why we don't come here more often. It's so close to our neighborhood and we frequent the Von's in. I stopped in for an afternoon break on Sunday and was greeted by immediately by the bartender, Juan. My margarita was made served and tasted refreshing. They even offered me chips and salsa. The salsa tasted great with good amount of heat. The bar is welcoming and outdoor seating on a nice day was very tempting, but I wanted to watch some sports so I remained inside. Definitely giving this patron location 4 stars as they know how to party! It was the perfect restaurant to host a celebration as the vibes were good and they make pretty stellar cocktails and shots. The food is average as is the ambiance but I can appreciate good service and a fun place to come for happy hour or a friend's night out. Decided to bring a group of 12 for an early birthday celebration for myself. I wanted a place that was central to some other spots we'd be visiting, with a good cocktail menu, and food that could appease everyone in the group. I called the day before and made a reservation with the gentlemen on the phone who noted it wouldn't be a problem and that they would be prepared for us. The reason I docked a star as when we arrived they in fact hadn't prepped or held a table for us and the gentleman at the front rushed back to let them know they would have a party for 12. Naturally I was a little disappointed as I had called and tried to be proactive, especially knowing that's a big group for a small restaurant. The good news is they immediately got a table together for us and we waited no more than a few minutes. I just note this exchange because imagine if they had been really busy and didn't have a table? It would have ruined the birthday dinner so that was a little concerning. I was totally chill and happy it all worked out but seems risky when you want to ensure you can be accommodated for a large group. After this though the night was perfection! This was a really fun spot to eat and drink to celebrate with some friends. They noted being short staffed but honestly we couldn't tell. They worked really hard to accommodate our table and keep drinks flowing. The food was actually well paced and all twelve people's dishes came out at the same time, that's pretty impressive I'll say. Everyone was nice that worked here and they made me feel special. Loved the complimentary birthday shot and that they sang me happy birthday. Nice people and a good vibe. The cocktails and drinks were 5/5 stars! Everyone loved their margaritas and they tasted really good. They also make Mexican candy shots and those were fabulous as well, my table had fun partaking in drinking those. The food was a solid 4/5. It's no frills Mexican food but everything was prepared well and tasty. I asked the group and they all agreed the food is good, just more a casual 4/5 good, not a place your running back to because the food is out of this world but for a large group the food totally hit the spot. I had the shrimp taco and it was okay, good flavor on the shrimp but lots of lettuce and needed more of a sauce. They forgot to bring out my soup so I can't rate that. The fajitas and enchiladas plates seemed to be the most popular of the night and they looked good. This place is definitely subpar. Have been here a few of times now over the past 3 years and each time the service has been just OK and the food lacking in taste and quality. Since it's so close to home, we keep hoping it will get better and maybe we just caught them on a bad day. At this point we give up and we won't be back. Very disappointing. Broken blenders so they're unable to make drinks. Bland overpriced food are consistent. Sadly, they don't seem to be concerned with trying to do any better since nothing changes. read more

The service attitude toward customers was very poor.When I told him that one order was missing,the server pulled out the receipt from the register. I showed him my receipt, he just said "oh my god" and brought the missing item from the kitchen without even apologizing. The server's name was Eunice.The food also tasted bad it seems like they used low- quality oil, it was overly greasy, and lacked clean, savory flavor. I never want to go to this restaurant again. Saw that Patron appeared to have generally positive reviews here. So maybe mine was a one-off negative experience. Went on a weeknight when it didn't appear to be too busy. There were maybe a half-a-dozen tables occupied with one big family of eight and the rest of us just 2-3 people. But there were also three wait staff. Took a while to get a table though no one in front of us, then was hastily told that we could have grabbed a table despite a sign saying "Please wait to be seated". We both ordered the Enchiladas Rancheras and again, took a while. Was expecting it piping (as in any other restaurant), but was tepid(?). The taste was good, but the rice and beans appeared to have been kept out for a while (dry and soggy respectively). Meanwhile, our drinks were not refilled nor were we checked upon until we finally asked for the check. There was nothing blatantly off-putting during this dinner, but there didn't seem to be any energy or pride in the restaurant either. read more

I took my kids for dinner on Tuesday and they all ordered tacos. The tacos were a little bland. They sent my daughter the wrong meal and then forgot to follow up with her right meal so she ended up having to pick from our plates, and we were still charged full price for hers. We had a fantastic BreakFast just now at Patron's...!!! Juan is one of the Very Best waiters in Camarillo & Ventura County. We enjoyed the wonderful steak omelettes. The chef is really great.
