Very good food for the money. I do take issue though with their online ordering policy. Beware that if you order online you will be assessed a 10% gratuity. I love to tip my server but this is not at my discretion and this it isn't a gratuity, it's a tax. I can find nowhere on their website where they inform customers of this policy. read more

Not sure where to start. Maybe with this one server who has been nothing but AMAZING to me and my girlfriend. We have been going at least once a week to pats place for close to a month if not longer. This servers name is angel, and I highly recommend that if you go here you ask for her to serve you. She is so cool, understanding, helpful, thoughtful, selfless, attentive, hard working, and every other compliment you can ever have for an amazing human being. She is working 7 days a week to provide for her kids, to keep a roof over their head. I was told she cooked thanksgiving all by herself for a very large part of family. Even after a long shift she got off and got back to work just to put a smile on someone else's face and put one on her face even if she was exhausted from working so hard! The food here at pats place has never disappointed me or any of my family members. The place is super cool and well taken care of. All of its staff are super nice but one in particular deserves a raise. My last visit I decided to tip her $100 for a $40 meal. Why you may ask? It's to let her know that she was recognized, she was recognized of her kindness towards others, she was recognized on her hard work, and she was recognized by her unconditional selfless heart. If there is anyone out there that would love to help me organize a gofundme of some sort to help raise money for her to get an apartment around new Braunfels for her and her children in a safer location as well as a closer location so she can have a closer drive to work, I'd love to get one going and get her this apartment. She has told me she wished she could afford one but unfortunately with how the economy has been she just can't right now. SHE DESERVES IT!!! Thank you for your time in reading this. I haven't eaten here in 30+ years. And it did not disappoint. The bacon cheeseburger was just as I remembered it. Fantastic. I read so much about the enchiladas and was told how great they were. A guy sitting next to us at the bar told us he had been waiting two months to get these enchiladas. Therefore I had to order at least one! The chips and hot sauce were very tasty. And the enchilada was fantastic. The french fries were also fresh cut potatoes and cooked very well. Fantastic. My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad. I have been to Pat's on three separate occasions and they have all been wonderful. The food is great and I think they have really good drink recommendations. My personal favorite is the Bock 512. Everyone is so friendly at the bar and the overall vibe is so fun. Definitely check it out if you're ever driving through New Braunfels! read more

Service was decent. Prices are up significantly along with a new menu. Have been a diehard customer since 1997, it was a very disappointing experience today. Party of six(6) persons. Bean burger and onion rings along with a decent side salad and order of two crispy tacos were acceptable. The grilled tilapia filets were ok and home cut french fries and coleslaw were typical. The shrimp poboy had 4 total medium to lg. shrimp on the bun. Competition in market place delivers 6 to 8 med. to lg. Worse part was for my wife and I. Avid fan for year's on Pat's Place enchiladas and Carol's Taco. What a disappointment! The deep brown chili gravy on the cheese enchiladas are now a canned cheese sauce and nothing close to the historical Pat's cheese enchilada chili gravy. We have bragged about the best enchiladas in New Braunfels to anyone that asked. That will not happen going forward. Additionally, Carol's taco/tostada has changed as well. It used to be a spicy unique meat with excellent seasoning and a little shaved lettuce and a nice light touch of homemade queso. Today it was a thick cheese sauce. The food was good. There was also no wait when we arrived. However, our server got both of our orders wrong so we had to wait for a remake of one entree. We had one wrong side so he brought the correct side for us and my side was on the other persons plate so I had to eat off another persons plate. Doesn't bother us too much because we are a couple but attention to detail would've been nice. We could've sent both orders back (that's how incorrect they were) but did not want to wait for them to remake two separate plates. Been here before but many years ago, and as we were in town for the day to float the river from Austin, we thought we'd grab lunch here. We walked in and the hostess, an older woman with white short hair asked us how many? To which I answered 3. She seemed a bit annoyed already, when she then asked if all were adults. I said two adults and one child. I asked about how long the wait was, if it was 15-20 mins. To which she just confirmed and quickly looked to a family right behind us, to ask them how many? Since there was no way to get around the family, we moved to the side and waited so we could pass them and sit on the benches to wait. But she immediately looked at us and condescendingly said "you can't stand there as it's our pick up area." I indicated we understood but we're waiting to let the family move, and indicated that she was very rude. We ended up just leaving. Now this interaction might not sound all that bad, but you had to be there I suppose. Just sharing because I was quite disappointed and taken aback by the woman's attitude. Got really bad service this evening. Waited an hour for our food after we arrived because the waitress forgot to put in our order! Two large tables were sat 20 minutes after we were and they got their food served before we did. The waitress was only attentive to them. When we notified the manager of the issue she didn't seem to care at all, was rude and unapologetic. She stated she could only offer 10% off our meal. The issue is No food for hour and a half. Issue is asked to split up table issue is you did not listen to 1 requeat we made. I have been coming to Pat's Place every single year for a decade. We love Pat's Place we tell people to go there. We get there tell them we have a party of 9 people. We sit down and wait. I then go up and say we can split up and have a party of 5 and a party of 4. They sit 5 tables in front of us. WE SHOULD of walked out then! They finally sit us 30 mins after we have been there, and we walk by several Empty tables about 10 empty tables. When we sit down I ask can you put my kids food in 1st that I was ready to order. She said sure then took everyones food and drink. She brings out our drinks then double checks the food order so now we are at 20 mins. We wait and wait 1hour and half later we finally get the food. We go to pay the check and there is a credit card service fee we have cash in our pocket but they ran the credit card. There was also a 20% TIP service she was NOT worth 20%! Talked to 2 different Managers twice and they did Nothing Worst Service and place ever. Will NOT be back! Again we are really going to miss them!!!!!!!!! Oh and they recorded the whole ending transaction and stated we walked the check. Came here with my family on a Sunday around noonish, wasn't too busy. I ordered an American breakfast with sausage, my sausage was under cooked. So I asked our server for a side of bacon and she brought out a plate of bacon it was cold and super greasy. I had my son eat the bacon for me. I enjoy pats place often. Very good diner food. Staff is always friendly. However their surcharge for using a credit card seems to be getting to me. Its a business expense people. We've been regulars at Pat's for 13 years, save during lockdown. We've been back in the past year and have ordered carry out as well, hoping the old Pat's wouldmake a comeback. We've been disappointed every time. Last night,the fries on the catfish plate, burger plate, and shrimp platter were all ice cold; inedible. Themac and cheese used to be a kids favorite and it was rubber. The catfish was mush. Our server was great, vey friendly but we're ready to find a new favorite in town. They didn't have the type bread my wife wanted on her club sandwich, she asked for sweet potato fries and got chips. she was only able to eat one bite as the bread was old and rock hard. ditto with the meats and cheese. The servers are always really nice, and we usually don't wait too long for our food, though, even if you do wait a little longer than anticipated, the food is worth the wait! There was also a separate brunch menu. The portions on the plates served around us seemed generous. We ordered chips and salsa which we had to ask for - again - after the food was served. The salsa was...just...weird. We ordered the bowl of tortilla soup which only had broth, tortilla chips and corn in it. It was served lukewarm. We also ordered a burger and tater tots. The burger and tots were fine - average. The service can be summed up as subpar. Inattentive, forgetful, morose, and miserable.
