The best hidden gem around. Definitely use your gps. You step back to florida from 50 years ago. You'll get a plate overflowing with a good healthy meal. Your coffee will be hot and full and your water will be cold and full. Service is nice,efficient and will take very good care of you. Chances are you'll run into people from all walks of life plus some salty dogs. This is the place you remember or you mom, grandma etc told you about. Most places like this have been pushed out. This place is really hard to rate. Usually it's pretty cut and dry. This place is so hard to find that you would NEVER stumble upon it. You have to want to find it. It's really close to our Florida condo and I'd heard about it, but sought it out yesterday around lunchtime. Before I go on, let me fess up here and now. I had one too many Long Island iced teas the prior evening, so my taste buds and mood were somewhat off. They seem to have a steady stream of local regulars here. It's basic mom and pop diner food. Very friendly servers! My husband won the ordering lotto with a simple, yet perfect BLT. I did not fare as well with my cheese steak, but the fries were great. Again, this could have something to do with my previous evening's consumption. The setting on the Halifax was really nice but the place was a little grungy, which I might appreciate more on another day. Loved the entertaining signs on the walls! We went for breakfast. Service was excellent but the food was not. Our home fries were cold and our over easy eggs yolks were hard and dry. Our blueberry pancake was so hard we could not slice it with a knife. We should have told them and left but we stayed and paid our bill. My friend who goes to Daytona often brought us to this place for breakfast. We were starving because the day before we pretty much had a liquid diet with very little food. We ordered way too much food but it was all really good. I had a pancake, corn beef hash, two eggs, home fries, and some toast. Corn beef hash was the typical can style hash but they fried it up perfectly with a nice crisp crust. The eggs were cooked to perfection (over easy). Home style fries were thinly sliced potatoes and they were good. The pancake was HUGE. It was hanging over the plate it was so big. And it had micky mouse ears....lol. One thing is they only accept cash so be prepared. The entire staff was very nice and friendly. Glad I got to experience breakfast here. They make breakfast food about as good as you can get it here. And with the restaurant being right on the water you get a nice view while you eat if you have a window table. A breakfast for 2 was about $23 and we ordered way more than we needed. read more

Can't comment on food, left after an hour of getting absolutely nothing but coffee, took 25 minutes to take my order, never brought food!!! Meanwhile as I'm sitting there I watched a group of 10 who weren't even there when we were seated get seated and served before us! We finally decided to leave as the wait staff only seems to be concerned about larger groups, probably because in their limited minds that's where the tips are! I guarantee them that they've served larger groups that leave less tips than I do for 2 people! I finally got disgusted left a $5 on the table for the coffee, told one of the Women it was enough, NO APOLOGIES, NO ATTEMPT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, NOTHING! Good food! No frills but thoughtful chef. I ordered a burger w/o a bun (no GF option) and my plate was overflowing with lettuce, tomato, pickles and chips! Yum. Hubby had a bowl of chili that was homemade and delicious! And the side salad was amazing. Friend had a cup of chili & a grilled cheese sandwich cooked to order (it was perfect!) Adorable cafe on the river! My husband and I wanted to have a mimosa and some grits and ended up staying for a full breakfast. When we first pulled up we thought "I'd this really the place?!" Went to this little hidden hole in the wall twice now. It is hard to find but very nice eccentric decorations. I have had the home made crab cake sandwich very nice, I left off her home made hot sauce, that's not my thing, the crab is very nicely . The home made broccoli slaw wasn't what I expected. Large chunks of florets with some tomato and a slaw dressing. It's very good. Had the roast beef special the second visit. It was your basic dinner open face roast beef with gravy. I don't do mashed potatoes so I had veggy and the broccoli slaw. Basic good comforts food. I will definitely be back again. They have different daily specials each day. read more

This is a great local joint. It's kind of a hideaway and it appears mostly locals go there. The food is excellent the service is excellent. When you eat there you know you're helping out the locals. The chili is excellent as well as the burgers. I really have never had a bad meal here. read more

Pat's was great. Service was quick, waitresses were very polite, and the food was good. The pricing was very reasonable as well. The crab cake Benny had a pleasant kick to it and was definitely crab-heavy. We sat outside and looked directly at the marina/river area. Pat's breakfast was not as good this year. The sausage gravy had no taste, biscuits were gumy and seemed undercooked. Eggs and sausage patties were just OK. The coffee and service are good as usual. The philly-cheesesteak and mexican style omelettes at our table were loaded with fixings and looked good, if you're an omelette fan. Pat's is a very small cafe with limited parking, but the riverfront location is great and eclectic collection of muscle car and racing photos are interesting, definitely worth a visit. read more

We had a little hard time finding it because we walked there and we didn't see a sign on the road but is to the right side/behind the marina right along the intercostal. I first want to say I read the reviews and then made my decision to come here. My opinion may not be worth the time it takes to read this, but it seems to me that when one reviews a place the first consideration should be what is this place trying to be. Then I review effort and the product, so using thIs theory I am able to give what I feel are fair ratings across the board, yes it is possible to have a restaurant that has plastic covered tables with mis-matched chairs from every decade in the past fifty years and a kitchen that looks like it came out of fishing camp along the river with a gravel parking lot where cut off shorts and flip flops are the preferred dress code, the same as a swanky bistro in New York City that requires a coat, tie, reservations and mandatory valet parking that serves unrecognizable cuisine that requires a credit line to have dinner. I like both and I can enjoy both equally without being pretentious. Today we came here with the expectation that this was going to be a real treat, a chance to experience that Old Florida Charm. When I turned into the drive it was just as I had hope it to be, yes it was exactly what I described above (the first description). Everything about this place is real, the people, the conversation, the effort, the food, it is transparency at its best. I joked about the coffee when it arrived in what looked like a bowl with a handle on it, after looking around I found there wasn't a matching cup in the house I think that is so cool. I don't care if mine came from a thrift store, garage sale or happened to be an old salesman's prop it was awesome. After looking at the menu I knew I was not going to be eating the standard breakfast chain special here but I also didn't want to wonder to far from my reality either. The selections are very different in my opinion some may say odd but there are some what would be consider standard fare as well. For me it had to be "Pat's Bacon Cheese-Burger Omelette" I admit I was a little scared so I omitted the onions and tomato, unbeknown to me at the time I ordered it this is the most popular omelette imagine that and unbelievably delicious. The fresh ground beef is crumbled and grilled then folded into fresh scrambled eggs with pieces of real bacon crumbled with melted Swiss cheese, it was amazing, honestly I could go on and on but you must try one of their unique dishes for yourself, whether it's fried bologna, chipped beef, or scrabble (I could never be that brave) or a host of others if that's your thing I am sure it will be a great experience. read more

While visiting the Daytona Beach area, we had to come here for breakfast as it was our parents favorite breakfast place. As in the past, we were not disappointed. We had the seafood omelet, vegetarian omelet & eggs, grits & bacon. The food came hot to our table and our coffee cups were constantly refilled. The atmosphere is wonderful, waitresses very friendly, old south comfort decor. We had a wonderful breakfast and reminiscing the good old days eating here with Dad & Mom. We will definitely come back again when visiting this area. read more

Just went here for breakfast. Cute little cafe tucked away on the water. It only accepts cash FYI. They have breakfast specials starting just below $5. The menu is simple and cheap. Just the way a good menu should be. I ordered eggs, bacon, and grits with toast. Just below $7. The food came out QUICK. I didn't take a picture because I scarfed it down. The staff was extremely friendly. The lunch items looked delicious from the menu and they also have lunch specials. When we come back we will definitely be returning. read more

If you are from the area this is a hidden little greasy spoon joint with mismatched coffee cups, old decore and basic breakfast food, but just done really well in a small kitchen. PLUS for anyone from Philly (like myself) they have...........wait for it.........SCRAPPLE!!!!! It's tucked away off the main road behind a boat storage pace right on the water so the views are great.
