It's an interesting place ....had a bar right in the front as you walk in where there were folks drinking and talking ....then there was section which was more like a restaurant/pizzaria.... You can have your drink and pizza at the same time! The pizza was really good....thin crust brick oven pizza and not the usual pizza pie you usually order. Just had dinner for the first time this past friday evening with my brother and cousin...at patsys in queens and have to say the food was absolutely delish....my brother and i had the best filet of sole...that was cooked to perfection...my cousin had the chicken parm which was also outstanding...everything was super fresh including the vegetables...but the absolute best thing besides the food was our server her name is lisa...be sure to request her when you dine there she will take care of you as if you were one of her own family .patsys is very lucky to have her as she is a great asset to this estabishment...cant wait to go back... read more

Just had a great experience at Patsy's. Not only was the food great, but the service was as well. Our server Billy was attentive and knowledgeable. The manager Ralph was accommodating and friendly. This place is fantastic and it's right in the heart of Whitestone. The ambiance is really nice especially because of the people that work there who are such hard workers. I went one night with a friend to try it out and we had Kat as our server. She is so ready to please and real pleasant as a waitress. She offered us the great specials that were available. She recommended the steak special which was outrageous and the cream puffs for dessert, everything was unbelievably delicious!!! The name Patsy's is famous but the food is just ok. The tomato sauce is too acidic and if an Italian place can't even get their sauce right, there's a huge problem. The prices are a bit high for the quality of food. We ordered chicken parmasan and a chicken capriciosa and two rice balls. The chicken dishes were kind of ruined by the sourness of the sauce and the chicken was not pounded thinly. The rice balls were unique, super crispy and tasty - they had mozzarella and rice inside without sauce. It's just too bad the only good part of the meal were the rice balls. read more

With 10,000 other pizza places in Queens, I would put this one on the bottom of the list. First of all, this place just opened and has not been there "since 1933" as the sign suggests.Secondly, it's just bad. I would say this wouldn't even be good pizza in Omaha, Nebraska, and not even CLOSE to borough standards.Also, the food is mediocre at best (possibly a step above Olive Garden) If you want REALLY good pizza in the area, go to Matese, Gino's on Kissena or Da Franco on 21st Street.This place should move to long island with the rest of the bad food. read more

I have eaten here a few times and it's always been fabulous! The pasta fagioli soup is heavenly! Fried calamari is one of the best i've eaten; had it twice and it was very fresh both times. The brick oven pizza is scrumptious! The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they are a bit pricey for a tiny neighborhood pizzeria restaurant and they don't have that many tables so it always gets crowded and the service is a bit slow. The lunch special is a fair deal. One more thing...i once took out a pizza....not a good idea because the crust is very thin & crispy which is great but it was cool by the time i got home with it so although it was good, it wasn't as good as when it is served piping hot straight from the oven at the restaurant. read more

Expected much, much more. Picked up our order today, a ceasar salad and a pie with half pepperoni half plain. Arrived home to find they gave us meatball vs. pepperoni. Ok, it happens. Yes the pizza was nice and thin. However bland as hell, absolutely nothing to it. I find pizza chef, and the hole in the wall in the pathmark plaza to be so much better. We expected something comparable to Grimaldi's and received nothing of the sort. We arrived 6:30 and told it would be a 20-25 minute wait. We didn't want to wait because we had our toddler with us. So even though we got take out, that's no excuse for the sub par pizza we received. The hostess' demeanor was actually weird and creepy amd the bartender who placed our order took a while to notice me and found it was more important to lay out napkins for the guys who were sitting there for a while already. A-OK. That's damn right. The only thing that this one shares with the ones in the city is the name. Honestly, if this was a stand-alone restaurant, then I would give it a higher review, but considering they share the same name as those in the city, I expect more and considering that my expectations weren't met, I can't do that. Ordered the "Grandma's Tortellini" and it was one of the worst dishes I have ever had ANYWHERE, let alone from a restaurant. I could have bought tastier frozen tortellini from a supermarket. Pasta was undercooked, filling was dry and tasteless and the sauce had to have come from a jar. Huge disappointment. I had to throw it out after a few forkfuls. The pizza was amazing. If you like thin crust, you will love this pizza. I've also had the sole francese which was also delicious. The waitress are very attentive and helpful. The only negative is the draft beer is a little expensive. Surprising when a glass of beer is more than a glass of wine at $8 a glass for the beer and the wine was $7 a glass. My friend had the chicken parm, which is probably the best chicken parm you will ever eat. The menu consists of the typical Italian-American foods, but done very very well. Zero stars. Just came here for a Valentine's Day dinner with my family. We arrived shortly after 5pm because we have young children and to avoid the rush. The meal started off smooth enough. We had a pizza as an app. Our server/ manager Codey said he would bring our salad out next with the pasta dishes for our children ( buttered penne and spaghetti with marinara ). Codey brings out our salad but no pasta. So we wait... I figured the pasta would be following right behind. 5 minutes passed no pasta. 10 minutes passed no pasta. 15 minutes passed no pasta. 20 minutes to get the pasta. Even if he forgot to put the pasta order in, it should not take more than 5 minutes to cook buttered penne and spaghetti with marinara. By now it is well passed 6pm and my wife and I are waiting for our entrees, a chicken parm and blackened salmon. By 6:30pm still no food so we ask Codey to just put it in a to go container because the children are becoming restless. Codey says no problem and walks away. 10 minutes later he brings the check with no food. On the bill, I noticed he charged us $4 for 4 tap waters. So I asked another server to get him for me so I can ask about the charge and pay the bill. The server tells me that he told Codey several times to come and speak to me but Codey refused to come out from the kitchen. At this point it is about 6:55pm and I inform the staff that I DO NOT want to stiff the bill but if the manager does not come to speak to me, I will have to go because we've been there too long. Nonetheless, Codey does not come out front to speak with me so I give the other server $5 and an apology for leaving. And I still have not eaten dinner yet at that point. I feel horrible because I love the food here but the terrible customer service is inexcusable. Not to mention this is not the first time the service was poor ( all the other times I just let it go ). Dining and dashing is inexcusable but since I only ate half a meal and the manager refused to talk to me about it, I feel no remorse. read more

Patsy's is famous, and we really don't have any good pizza here in Whitestone which is ridiculous, so this place is always going to be packed I'm sure... it's a shame they couldn't get a larger spot in the area. Only due to the brick oven pizza do I think they deserve three stars. The staff is inadequately trained, the ambiance is lacking and they don't seem to care if you come back. My first attempt was at 8:55 on a Sunday night, not knowing they close at 9, which I was rudely informed as we entered and were ushered back out. Due to my love of brick oven pizza, I returned a few Sundays later at 8:30. No bread was brought over until we pointed out that we didn't get any (2 other tables in rest), then grudgingly we were served cold bread, while others received warmed. The waitress kept having to leave our table to ask the cook our questions about the menu, while she was pleasant she didn't seem to think it was a problem that she nothing about the menu. We finished around 9:30 and when we asked for coffee and dessert she said nothing was available as the kitchen closed at 9pm. I'm sorry but can only a trained cook plate a cold dessert and pour coffee into a cup?? Yes, the pizza was delicious but having left the place feeling like they are doing me a favor by serving over priced and over salty entrees, I know that I'll never be back. I don't write reviews but I just had to about this dining experience at Patsy's. Great atmosphere, sat quickly, great waitress, Gianna, she was pleasant and so knowledgeable. We asked for suggestions on apps. so we decided on the meatball and ricotta parm., scarpiello wings and eggplant parm pizza (we like food).....all three outstanding. For our entrees we had baked penne ala vodka, linguini calabrese and the fusilli with shrimp. Each course came out not only quickly but hot and fresh. The entrees were cooked to perfection and the taste was fabulous. Finally we had our desserts (yes we still had room). We ordered the smash chocolate chip and it did not disappoint......outstanding. My family went to Patsy's last night and we were shocked and dismayed at how poor the service was and how rude the management was. The occasion was my father's 95th birthday. We arrived at 7:15. We ordered a bottle of ridiculously expensive, cheap cabernet and then had to wait over an hour until the entrees started coming out. First, three out of five entrees came out; no sides. I went to the maitre'd who told me he would take it up with the server. Fifteen minutes later, the other two entrees arrived but we were still missing sides for three entrees. Finally, at 9pm we received the last sides. The maitre' d, Daniel, who I spoke with was rude and insulting to me. He could have diffused the situation by apologizing and buying us a drink. Instead, he told me to go back to my table and that I was being rude to him. He could not have handled a bad situation to make it worse. It was a very upsetting dinner for my father's 95th. By the way, I mentioned this to my daughter this morning and she said she had the same problem with the service 3 weeks ago. Based on looking at the other reviews, I would say this place is unable to deliver quality service and their prices are exorbitant. The food was good, but there are a dozen places in the area that provide great service and appreciate their customers. Daniel should be fired immediately. We will never eat there again. read more

I always read reviews before I go anywhere new but have never written one before. However, after reading the negative reviews on yelp about Patsys Pizza and bring convinced to try it anyway, I feel I needed to take a minute and call out exceptional service extended to us last night despite the validity of some of the reviews. Last night, after walking in and being ignored by the hostess, we were able to grab the attention of a waitress and were seated at a table. She dropped off menus and never came back. A young man noticed us and approached our table asking if we needed anything. He saw we were annoyed. He was running around bringing food, cleaning up tables, checking on people. Basically the only one doing anything while the others texted, sipped soda and avoided working at all costs. We had some questions about appetizers and the menu and he recommended that we get a pizza and told us that his mother makes him bring fried meatballs home all the time because they're so good. We were sold. He was pleasant and professional. He got our waitress to come right over and take our order. He checked on us throughout and told us we had to try dessert and coffee next time when we had room. We basically only saw our waitress again when she dropped the check. The food was fine but the way Anthony looked after us made it a terrific experience. I would have loved to tell a manager in person but he was busy last night. Bottom line: go for the fried meatballs, the bread and make sure you sit in the kid's section :) read more

Those reviews that gave this place 5 stars had to be from family members of the owner. This place is terrible!! I tried them on their second day, the service was so-so, the pasta was mushy, but the pizza ok. I went this past Sunday night to give them another try, thinking that they had growing pains. This time it was awful--horribly awful!! The service was non-existent, the pizza was undercooked (how does one undercook pizza?--that's how awful this place was), the eggplant parm was made from slabs of pre-fried eggplant put together with mozzella and tomato sauce and just heated up--UGH! The veal francese was embarrassing and tasteless. How anyone would serve this unappetizing looking dish at a restaurant speaks volumes about their respect for their customers. The Patsy's franchise should be ashamed to allow this place to use their name and destroy the reputation they spent decades building. I will not go back, and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I ordered take out and it came in a brown shopping bag. I placed it in my car and went home. Took it out of my car by the brown bag handle and all the food came pouring out on my garage floor. Food was everywhere. Obviously it was too hot when the food was placed in this flimsy shopping bag. I had to clean up the food and throw everything out. I immediately called the restaurant to say that the food was not properly packaged and the manager told me that they are not responsible for the food once it leaves their restaurant. This is horrendous customer service. He took no responsibility for the way the take out was packed and as a result we had no dinner. I will never go back to this place ever. How dare they not take any responsibility for the way my take out order leaked out of their bag. At the very least they should put hot food in a double paper bag or insure the transport by putting the paper bag inside a thicker plastic bag. Came on a Saturday during lunch time. Excited that a pizza place opened by my neighborhood. Walked in w the wife and was promptly seated. About 10 minutes before the waitress took our order but water was served prior to our order. We ordered our pizza and waited. During our wait we saw 6 pizzas being served to others and each one of them then were burnt exactly on one side. Some sent it back (unfortunately some kids were hungry and started howling) while others ate around it. Worried I asked the my pizza not be burnt and the waitress said not to worry. 40 minutes passed since my order so I spoke to the manager and he said he'll check on it and get back to us. 10 minutes passed and no response. I walked up the counter w the wife and followed up w the manager again since he dismissed my request. He replied that your pizza is going in right now. Wow after an hour of waiting, it was going in now. So I notified him and the waitresses that I will be leaving. Will stick to my other pizzerias going fwd. read more

Wish I could comment on the food at Patsy's, at best I can say it looked good through the window. Went on a Tuesday evening with party of 6. The place is small, they were busy, was told we would be seated within 30 minutes, okay, we'll wait. Other smaller parties, 2 and 3 people arrived after us and were seated pretty promptly. One party of 3 was actually a co-worker. Lost track of time, realized we were waiting 45 minutes. When asked, the hostess told us she had only 1 table, couldn't help us. When we were upset that we were kept waiting and were not accommodated, she was quite rude. Left, went elsewhere for dinner. Couple of days later at work, was talking to my co-worker, told her I had never gotten a table at Patsy's on the night I had seen her at the restaurant. She was stunned because, where she was sitting, there were a table for 2 and a table for 4 right next to each other, and she assumed they would push them together and seat my family next to her, but instead they seated 2 smaller parties that had arrived 25 minutes after I had. Really bad customer service. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to try out Patsy's since they care so little about their customers. I'll happily drive the extra distance to go to Grimaldi's or Nicks in Nassau, their food is good, and they take good care of their customers. read more

We went to this Patsy's on their opening day. We had high hopes from their well known name. Unfortunately, we were extrermely disappointed. Keeping in mind that it was the first day, we disregarded the confusion of the staff. That's understandable. What we found unacceptable was that the pizza was no better than a pizza you would get in a mall food court. We also ordered penne a la vodka. When it came to the table, I asked the waitress what it was. I reminded her that we ordered penne a la vodka. She said that is the way they make it here. There was no creamy, pink sauce and it was very plain and uncoated of any sauce with just some vegtables and peppers. We gave it a try to find that it was terrible. It looked more like carbonara pasta, but it didn even taste like carbonara. My wife and I had stomach aches a short time after eating the pasta. To this day, I dont even know what it was. Needless to say, we will never go back. We will stick to Grimaldis, that's the GOOD STUFF. read more

We went to Patsy at Whitestone for the first time last night. We read some of the reviews and most of them said the food was good but service was horrible. Well, we decided to go anyway and try it out. We, the whole family (8 of us) were all very impressed with both the food quality and the service. Our waitress Lisa was great. I was pleasantly surprise of how attentive, professional and friendly the service was despite the fact that the reviews on the service were so negative. Actually everyone was great. The food was really good....we ordered a lot of dishes and of course pizza too..... and we shared....like family style and everything we had was good. We ordered the Rice Balls which was not in the menu and they were delicious. You got to try them if you decide to go there. The service and the food were both very comparable to a high end restaurant but with a very reasonable price. Yes the decor, atmosphere ...etc. are not high-end...but the food and service definitely got a thumb up and a 5 stars from us. The manager Zach ame by numerous times to check on us to make sure everything was doing fine, he was super friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our dinner last night. If you want to have good food and good service at a local pizzeria....I highly recommend Patsy at Whitestone and you got to ask for Lisa to be your waitress. read more
