Was in the area visiting either friends and decided to come here based on reviews and hotel recommendations. We had onions rings, chicken tenders, clam chowder and cod fish and chips. All were delicious. Service was good. We sat in the covered patio. Clam chowder was flavorful and not watery. Had good chunks of clams. Onion rings were well battered and crispy. Did not fall apart on first bite! Fish was also nicely battered and had a nice crunch not heavily battered. Was delicious. Would have to ding this place for the 3.5% surcharge for credit card use. We decided to pay in cash and waitress came back to tell us we short changed her! After we explained that we took off the 3.5 credit charge surcharge, she said "oh my register wouldn't take this off" but she agreed that it was correct! Our waitress was very nice and pleasant. Note for future diners: there's a 3.5% surcharge for credit card use and a 20% tip added for parties of 5 or more. read more

Food was wonderful. Good beer selection. Took off stars because we were over charged on our bill and that's a big deal to me.

The food was delicious - we ordered the clams and mussels special and it was so good. A decent serving size good amount for sharing. We also ordered a burger and the fixings were separate so you could add to the burger what you like - lettuce, tomatoes, red onions etc. The service was excellent. Had a great time here 6 years ago with great service and food, but unfortunately they do not allow children. Dogs are okay, but not children. Was able to visit this place as a married couple, but not able come back when we became a family of 3. Unfortunate policy not even able to eat on the outside of the restaurant as a family away from the bar. They only offered take out as an option and not allowed to eat outside the restaurant. This place was recommended to us by the guy that checked us in at our hotel. He recommended the fish and chips. We went there for lunch and we were completely disappointed. The fish from the fish and chips seemed to be from a box. I ordered the warm spinach salad ($18) with chicken (extra $10) and the chicken seemed to be from a frozen bag from Costco. Charged us a 15% fee for takeout and didn't tell us!! We had kids under 21 and your not allowed to enter if your under 21. So they said we can do take out and we ordered our food. We then got an email during out 20 minute wait and saw we were charged $9 just for ordering takeout. They didn't once mention this and i'm extremely disappointed. On top of spending $80 for three meals that should have been $60, there were so many hidden fees we were unaware of. I'm very disappointed. They also messed up our order. They didn't give us our steak fries. Our burger that was $30 didn't come with cheese like it was supposed to, the meat was well over done and not medium rare. Our garlic fries that we ordered had literal garlic CHUNKS. I'm so disappointed because we're in mendocino for vacation and for our last meal here to be like this and it wasn't cheap either is so beyond frustrating! read more

Was super busy on a weekday evening, definitely a locals place. Got the fish and chips & the fish was freshly fried and crispy albeit a bit oily but the fries were a bit soggy and didn't have any seasoning on them (had to salt them a decent amount). This is a nice, intimate spot. All the tables are small for a nice conversation and a good meal. There are also spots at the bar to hang and watch a game. Delicious pub food. During my last visit, we ordered fried pickles, coconut shrimp, haddock fish and chips, and clams and mussels in white wine sauce. It was all delicious. I don't usually order coconut shrimp, but I had a terrible version at another restaurant and wanted to get that out of my mind. These were just as good as the best ones I've had in Hawaii. The haddock fish and chips were delicious - there was a choice between cod or haddock and I wanted to change it up. And the special clams and mussels were swimming in a delicious broth that we dipped everything in. I've been here several times and somehow always surprised how good it is. read more

Patterson's Pub was THE FIND of our 4 day Mendocino County getaway!!! So good that after one visit we went there again the next day and if we had another day would have gone again! First, they are well located in the heart of Mendocino in a charming building that looks like it was picked up and moved straight from Ireland. Erin go bragh! Inside there is ample nice bar seating as well as several comfy tables and outside there is a huge heated, decorated tent with lots more tables and a stage. Inside feels exactly like an Irish Pub and the rows of taps were amazing. If I could I would give the very experienced servers 10 Stars! Fast, friendly, chatty and on top of everything - great at anticipating our wanting refills, more napkins, etc. And in truth everyone there is a server as they jump in to help when the server is busy. THE FOOD, OH MY! Both visits we had the Clam Chowder which was the best I've had in years. So thick my spoon stood up in it! First visit I had the Rueben that had at least 3 inches of tasty corned beef along with great fries (you can get fries in a staggering array of preparations) and super pickle slices. Sweetie had one of the daily specials - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies - outstanding. Second trip I had the Fish and Chips (I substituted superb onion rings for the chips) . The fish was a large, thick fish filet that had been cut in half, battered and fried. Best fish I've in a long time. Great batter that stays on the fish too! Onion rings were sweet and perfect! Sweetie had the Patty Melt and Sweet Potato fries which she loved! If we had gone back a third time I would have ordered the Patty Melt as it was that good! If Patterson's was 4 hours closer I would be there every week and work my way through the entire menu (and the taps)! It's that good! Trust me - when in the area you gotta go there. This place is the best! I've been here three times now, and I've ordered the same dish all three times and I normally never do that. I travel about once a month to Fort Bragg in Mendocino area for work and usually it's the only thing open at night. With great food, awesome drinks and the best employee, Liz, how could I not come back? I ordered for the first time the medium rare beef nachos that was recommended by Liz and it was spot on. I got a few different beers to go with it and it was perfect! They also had plenty of games on television if that's your thing and lots of interesting and fun people coming in and out. I'll be headed back to that area next month and I'm sure I will pop in there and maybe I'll try something different next time but who knows? Highly recommend this gem! read more

We had calamari for an appetizer and moscow mules for drinks. The pub itself is unique and kitschy. We decided to sit outside where the heated lamps kept us both reasonably warm. The tent covering protected us from the light rain. Service is friendly and lightning fast with the food. Our servers checked on us frequently so we couldn't complain. Very disappointed with our experience at this location that seemed so promising. We arrived and they were full inside and out - so we were added to the waitlist with 1 party ahead of us. Minutes later more and more people showed up and were added to the waitlist as well - normal. Fast-forward 20 minutes and there are other parties being seated that showed up after us. Find out that the hostess never wrote down my name so that resulted in another 15 minute wait. She was extremely unorganized and seated my party of 2 at a large table. Ordered - Steak Salad - very delicious but very pricey - Fettuccine Primavera - tasted awful as if they took some frozen veggies and tossed on a plate I am sure their other items are good and their drinks (which they had many options) are good but massive pass for me. read more

We ordered the veggie spring rolls. These were probably the worst veggie spring rolls we ever had. I doubt they were freshly made. I opted for a vegan Impossible Burger with side of sweet potato fries that was okay. I am not really into Impossible Burgers. My girlfriend got the Impossible vegan sausage with a side salad.
