We had family in town and were looking for a sports bar that could accommodate a large group wanting to watch the Ohio State football game. My daughter was getting married the next day. My wife and I attended THE Ohio State University, and a large number of Buckeye fans had traveled to the state of 10,000 lakes. We couldn't miss the game! So I called around and ended-up talking to the owner of the Patty Wagon. It is actually an Illini bar, but the timing of the two games worked out. So our large group had an entire room to ourselves to watch the game, order drinks, and eat some bar food. We had one server, and she was fantastic, taking care of all our needs. She kept track of about 10 different tabs. I think every appetizer on the menu was ordered by someone. The loaded tots were a hit! The food was good - good burgers! Well, this is the end. I liked this place. But, I won't frequent places with cheap management. I came in today to take my father out for Father's Day, and it was stifling inside. It was over 75. It was cooler outside by a landslide. So, Patty Wagon's solution? We'll just open the fucking doors. Problem solved. Wrong !!!!!! We turned around and left. Why in the fuck would I want to sit in a hot ass restaurant with only the doors to cool it down? The answer: I wouldn't. And, that's not to mention it's bug city outside right now. We were looking for place by cemetery , we were very pleased. Staff very friendly. We were going to 5&8, but there is always a wait. We got right in on a Sunday afternoon. Nice little out of the way place on 61st and Nicollet. It's right next to another sports bar so it's actually easy to miss the place, however I hope you don't! I was looking for a good take out place on my way home from work since my hubby has been out in CO snowboarding and I was getting tired of cooking for a party of one. Found this place on Yelp and thought I'd give it a try. It's tucked away in a tiny strip mall and very conveniently located off of 62/35W area. I got the speed limit breaker burger and it was super delicious! I wolfed it down in minutes and by the time I realized there was no burger left, I realized I had neglected my sweet potato tots! I really like that they offer these in tater tot form instead of just fries. Tater tots are just so much better than fries! Should have checked it before we left; order was wrong. Staff kept saying it was busy, which is why it was slow. If six open tables in my area is busy, I'd be afraid of Saturday night. Food quality average at best. Certainly not worth the wait. Fries were soggy and onion rings were... I am not sure, I didn't get them. But I sure paid for them. Burgers had little taste. They have a ton of burger options, and most are pretty unique. We were really worried when we walked in on a Friday at 7:30 and it was basically empty. More people came but there was never a wait. I don't get it. The Hamburger, my favorite, with Swiss and mushrooms was as good as any I've ever eaten. The bun was noticeably good. The sauces are all homemade and amazing. A group of 5 of us went to Patty wagon last Sun. evening for a birthday dinner. The food was great, the service was fair, the wait for the food was long! At least it came out hot. Their website doe's not tell you so I will. They have a full bar. So you can get a beer with you burger. I found this out after I had ordered a overpriced root beer. When I mentioned to the waitress the website should list at least some beers she was very indifferent about it. Maybe that is why at 6:00 on a Sunday evening there were only 3 tables seated, us being one of them. By all means try them out. At least now you are informed. For all the talk around town about best burgers, I've never heard of the Paddy Wagon in Richfield/Minneapolis. For me and my family this is our favorite burger joint in the Twin Cities. We enjoy the Nook, 5-8, Blue Door and such but Paddy Wagon burgers are the best for us. The cheese curds and chipotle mayo are a must on the visit as well. read more

It took the server 30 minutes to come back to our table after we placed our order & we were thirsty and on a time limit. But the food was really good. We had the Four Alarm Burger and the Speed Limit burger, waffle fries and seasoned dip also the sweet potato tots , really good! WHY- Why does my husband think that we should keep giving this place another try. We get the slowest service ever here! This was about the 4th time now. Frickin' amazing place. I'm new to Minnesota, and after being introduced to some awesome burger places, I made it a mission to check out as many of them as I can while I'm here. Patty Wagon is absolutely awesome, and I rank it among the top 5 burger places I've ever been to. Patty Wagon is one of the hidden secrets that people overlook, and its a shame. I found this diamond in the rough looking for burger joints with tots. I can't do fries no more, it's gotta be tots! I found Patty Wagon had sweet potato tots, and being a slow-carb/bulletproof diet follower, I thought that this was a better way to do a cheat meal than typical tots. :D Anyway, I've tried the Caribbean dry rub wings, their double stack burger, and the loaded tots, and I was in heaven each time. Combine that with their taps, or hot water with lemon, and I couldn't ask for anything more. Their service is awesome, the staff is friendly, and the food is great. Highly recommended! read more

I was excited when I saw this place open. I've gone 4 times in total, with declining quality each time. I won't go back. The second time I went, I had one of their flyers that said "buy one burger get one half off." I was with a vegetarian who asked for a veggie burger but unfortunately they don't serve those. So she asked if she could sub the (cheaper) grilled cheese sandwich as the half-price burger, and we were told no. The inability to use our coupon left me a little sour, but whatever. The 3rd time I went, the burger quality was noticeably down. Smaller patties, less tasty meat. Fries were served cold. The 4th time resulted in me deciding I had given them enough chances and I just don't need to patron their restaurant anymore. My friend ordered his burger with onion and lettuce. Burger came out with neither, but he didn't notice right away. When he was finally able to flag the waitress down 5 minutes later, he let her know. It took her another 5 minutes to bring out some lettuce and onions, as well as some unwanted tomatoes. So now my friend is eating a cold burger by the time it has the correct the toppings. Annoying, but whatever. The kicker though is when we got the bill. An upcharge of $.75 for EACH of the three toppings... even though he only ordered two of the three! We figured it wasn't worth making a scene over this ridiculousness so we just decided to pay it and leave, never to return. The burger itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. I'd order it again though just to give it a second chance. I think I would have liked it more if they had more cheese served on it and it was a little hotter when it arrived at my table. Great cost! Spent less than $20 for 2 meals! They have a happy hour menu with mostly drinks and $5 apps on it until 7pm. The staff was friendly but you can tell it was a slow night because they seemed bored. My first visits to Patty Wagon was for takeout. My fiancé and I would frequent this spot for wings on nights we just didn't feel like cooking. They aren't the best wings but they are ok. We finally decided to eat in and it was beyond lack luster. Cold food and cheap ingredients. I ordered a burger and it was not that great. Again, cold and the beef quality was not the greatest.
