Just got over the worst case of E Coli that I've ever experienced in my life. One that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. My wife was hospitalized (yes, hospitalized!!!) and almost lost her job in insurance due to lost time. People who use words like "inexpensive" in their naive, over-simplified reviews are neglecting the fact that such a thing comes with a price, and here is the prime example of which. I have literally never been so sick, and the doctors who cared for my better half traced the illness directly back to foodborne illness likely to have come from from as they put it "a loose-meat sandwich". Avoid this place at all costs! I'm serious. Our server mentioned at one point that the owner was cooking during our visit. Did this person even wash his/her hands??? Good god! Again, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

I love this place. It's that simple. It's consistent. My wife and I come here about once every other week, sometimes a time or two before that but it's always good, it's always quick and it's always been service that's friendly. My favorite burger is the Pacific Burger with BBQ and bacon added to it and holy c**p, it's always juicy and taste sooo good. The thing is that it's ALWAYS like that. I'm not wondering what I'm getting. I know. I love that. I broke down and had something other then a burger once and had the fish sandwich and damn, that wasn't bad either which to be honest I wasn't expecting as much. I was looking for a good burger on a Saturday night. I ordered the fish and chips instead. Good but not particularly memorable. Service was very good but then I was the only one there. Friendly and comfortable - they even let me charge my phone at the nearby electrical outlet. They're not trying to be a four-star restaurant nor was I looking for that. We were worried about trying this for the first time on a Friday night since we didn't know how busy it would be. It was not busy at all, which then made us a little concerned that the food or service wasn't going to be great. We were definitely proven wrong! Service was great and friendly, along with updates as our food was coming out. The food was awesome for what we were looking for -- everything was hot, fresh, and really flavorful. After receiving a flyer in the mail and seeing the good reviews here, I decided to suggest the Patty Wagon to a group of my friends in order to support a local neighborhood establishment. We were looking for a place for a group of 6 of us (plus 2 kids) to watch the Women's World Cup. I had contacted the Patty Wagon ahead of time to ask if this was something they could accommodate and they enthusiastically told me that we should come in. When we got there however, we asked if the TV sound could be turned up so we could hear the game. The TV was turned up slightly. When we politely asked if the music could be turned down so that we could hear the TV, we were told that that was not possible. So we couldn't hear anything but a mix of talking and music, which drowned each other out. The service we received was good; our food took a long time to come out, but our server apologized ahead of time and told us the kitchen was swamped because so many people ordered at the same time. As we waited for our food, the room got extremely warm and muggy. We noticed a haze forming and it got uncomfortable. The food was decent. 5 out of 6 of us ordered burgers and we all agreed our meals were average, but nothing spectacular. I pulled out the flyer we received in the mail which had a couple of coupons on them. Our server noticed this and told us that her manager won't let us use more than one coupon per table, even though there were 3 separate couples in our group and we were paying separately. I thought this came off as really cheap and tacky, especially since our large group had been patronizing the restaurant for a couple hours, ordering a lot of beers and food. There was no mention of this rule on the coupon either. They upcharged you for a lot of small items that usually come standard with a burger, as another reviewer had noted. The worst was a $2.50 upcharge from regular fries to waffle fries? The whole experience left me with a bad impression of the management/owners. It was clear they were more interested in profits and didn't care much about their customers, which I would have thought would be important for a new restaurant. We will not be returning. read more

I LOVE the Patty Wagon. Their appetizers are fabulous. The pulled pork nachos are the best nachos I have ever had. The pork doesn't have barbecue sauce on it, but it has a magnificent smokey flavor. They are so loaded that you have to use two chips at a time to get all of the toppings balanced out. The onion rings are obscenely good. They make their own beer batter so the rings have a really flavorful crunch on the outside and thick sweet onion on the inside. Then comes the burgers. I don't have the words to describe how heavenly the burgers are. You just have to trust me on this. Their happy hour is awesome if you are looking to test drive a couple of different appetizers. The food is good. Our waitress was pleasant. How ever don't ask for a substitution without a ridiculous up charge. They are not flexible at all. We wanted the fish and chips without the coleslaw and fries and wanted the small garden salad instead. They still wanted to charge us $2.50 extra for one less item. Manager would not even budge and was pretty rude about it. I wont be returning because it is apparent pleasing the customer is at the bottom of their list. Happy hour until 7pm on a Friday, yes please!!! The loaded tots were average. I choose a side salad as a side since I had tots for an app, salad was your typical side salad. My bf had the coleslaw and it was actually better than most coleslaws 4/5. The chicken tender kids meal was probably the worst(tried a bite), but I wasn't eating it. The salted caramel milkshake was ok as well. Now onto the star of the show...burger time! I had the V8 and it was great. The sauce was tasty, burger was cooked perfect, I like that they used shredded lettuce instead of a big leaf. We headed into Patty Wagon on Saturday evening not knowing what to expect. We were surprised that there was hardly anyone there. Not usually a good sign, but we ordered the loaded tots as an appetizer to get started. They arrived quickly and were excellent! Then each of us ordered a different burger from the menu. We also tried the regular fries, waffle fries and coleslaw. All of which was spot on. This might be my new favorite burger joint. It was my table, another couple, and a party of 12 or so. It must have been pretty standard for them though because there was only one server working. She did her best, but there were some errors in our order and she couldn't get back to us very often. I don't blame her; I think management has a few things to figure out. Visited last night. The malt was decent, nothing spectacular. The appetizers were good, we had onion rings, loaded tater tots. And cheese curds. They were fried perfectly, didn't taste like dirty oil. The fish and chips and burgers were good. My biggest complaint was the service. It wasn't busy at all. It took 10-15mins for the server in our area to ask us if we had been helped. He seemed to be helping the tables in our section.....so no, we hadn't been helped. Shortly after that a couple walked out after only having water. They had been there for nearly 30 mins without getting any attention other than waters. We were so excited to try this place based off of reviews, but it was a let down. This was hands down the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. It wasn't busy at all so the service was just plain slow. It took forever to get our drinks ordered and then another long time before we got our drinks to our table. After we finally ordered our food, it was a long wait for it to arrive. We asked multiple times for silverware and refills and we never ended up getting them. We waited over 20 minutes to get our check after finishing and having our table cleared. The food was honestly pretty tasty, but this service was so horrible that I will never come back. Great menu, great food, great drinks. Perfect. Probably the best burger I've had in the Twin Cities, and I've been to all the "exotic" burger places. The meat here is tasty and fresh, and they know how to cook it medium rare. 10-25-17, another delicious visit to The Patty Wagon! We met friends here, who had not been, and they were equally pleased with our meals. I ordered the Pork Nachos, more than enough for one person, had plenty of toppings for me. It was $5 on the happy hour menu. The 3 others had burgers and were eaten in no time. The buns they use are so soft and fresh, it seems that other restaurants are not paying any attention to the buns they are using -- so this adds to the good taste. We also started with onion straws - about on the same level as the ones served at the 5-8 Club but these cost less. Patty Wagon also has 1919 Root Beer on tap, which is a treat for me. I wanted to get the root beer float but didn't, next time! Cocktails tasted good so I was told. The parking lot was really busy, but appeared to be a lot at the place next door as there was plenty of seating in Patty. The couple we were with plan to refer others as they enjoyed the large menu and thought the food was very tasty. We'll all be back! read more
