The restaurant was fairly empty when we went in for a late weekday lunch. They seated us right away. Waitresses were very friendly and helpful. After we ordered a situation broke out in the dining room with staff members and the owner (we asked the waitress later). The owner was yelling and swearing at two employees. It was awkward for those of us eating. The owner briefly apologized, saying she lost her temper. The food came and it was mediocre at best. The ketchup and jam seemed watered down. Everything was pretty bland. We did enjoy the sausage gravy. Our total came to $30 with only water and two breakfasts. We will not be back after that uncomfortable experience. read more

Customer service is lacking. Doesn't understand under promise over deliver concept. Ordered take out for Hunters Breakfast, was told it would be ready in 20 min. Reasonable time for some toast, bacon, 1 bratwurst, eggs, and ham. Got to the cafe 25 min after placing order. Was told it would be ready in a few more minutes. Meanwhile, I saw folks who just walked in got seated, had their coffee and their food a few minutes later. Finally after 35 min of waiting I got my takeout. That same amount of time , I probably could have driven to Mukilteo Cafe, got seated and had my coffee and breakfast. Never again im going back to this place and this was not the first time this happened, first time , I gave them a pass. But not this time. I hate that I have to offer such a terrible rating because the servers are fast and polite. The location is very convenient only minutes from my house. The challenge is the cooks do not know how to make an egg. When you are asked how you like your eggs, it must be for survey purposes because it has zero connection with how the eggs are prepared. I suffered through this issue several times and have made mention of it each time politely. Today I asked to speak with the manager. He was extremely defensive about the situation and quite rude. I will not be returning. Which is a bad thing for their servers as I am an excellent tipper. Note even with this poor experience I have the waitress a 50% tip. I also took the time to share that I understand that it's not her fault and that she does a great job. Advice to ownership; retrain your managers in the concepts of hospitality and customer service. We got off the ferry coming from would-be Island and I was starving. The place was packed. They got us in immediately, we sat at the bar. The food was over the top. We had and omelette and the waffles and the sourdough bread and the fresh squeezed orange juice. It was fun sitting at the bar because we got to watch all the action. 30 minutes later the line was out the door. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast. My usual weekend routine? Drink Saturday night, spend Sunday morning at Patty's with a heaping pile of french toast, eggs, bacon and the best orange juice around. Seriously people, if breakfast is your thing, get down here for a treat!! If you are like most of my friends, and by that I mean rarely see a Sunday morning because you are so hungover you don't posses the will to live anymore, you are missing a great spot to help nurse that hangover. Piece of advice though, come really early, or after noon. It's way less busy because the church crowd has cleared out. P.S. This place is a dive but has a decent selection of breakfast and brunch items. Personally, I like the location on Evergreen more than this one...I felt that the service and atmosphere was better and less depressing (respectively). My favorite items? Corned beef hash (canned) and eggs (I substitute fruit for eggs), which comes with your choice of toast and potatoes. Also the pancakes with Devonshire cream (I had this at the Evergreen location) and bacon. A word of advice: If you substitute berries for anything (even something that costs more), you will be charged extra. It's a stupid rule if you ask me. I hate that restaurants load you up on cantaloupe and honey dew (yuck) instead of giving you a variety of fruit. Portions are pretty huge here, but I still don't think that the prices are commensurate with what you get. I mean, it's okay food, but most of the dishes are in the mid $10s, and I'm not sure they are worth that. I will say that the menu seems to change up in terms of specials rather frequently, so there is sure to be something interesting on the menu when you visit. I read some of the previous reviews for this location, and I have to agree about the service. It was slow getting someone to take our order, and we eventually just went up to the counter to pay our bill. Our waitress was friendly, and the bus staff was on top of keeping us happy, but the place wasn't busy, so that's a little inexcusable. COME HUNGRY! We went for Saturday brunch and there was no parking spot available we had to drive around a couple times until one opened up. It was worth the wait. We got sat down as soon as we walked in. The service was fast and friendly even though they were packed. The food was great. We ordered the California benedict and it was definitely delicious, the bad was that the avocado was on the side not on the actual eggs. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and zesty. We also ordered the country fried steak with country gravy. The steak was juicy inside and crispy on the outside. We also upgraded our hash browns to loaded which means they add bacon bits, sour cream, cheddar cheese and chives on top. This is a must! We also ordered the regular eggs benedict and they were pretty good. Nice toasty English muffin and savory ham with an egg poached just right. We will definitely be returning. Going out to breakfast is very stressful. Since we became vegetarians it's hard to find breakfasts without eggs, without meat, and no pastries. Oatmeal is my breakfast if choice. Solid brunch place in the Muk. We had the Mess and Patty's Special French Toast. Mess - 4/5 good portion, flavorful, and savory. Nothing stood out to make it a 5 Patty's Special - 2/5 our French Toast came out late cause they ran out of Devonshire but we were too busy eating the Mess - we didn't care that it came out late. However, the French Toast was deep fried in oil that probably shared with other meals like chicken & waffles, and French fries. You could really taste the poor quality of grease in the French toast. Service - 5/5 was awesome! We were greeted we a friendly smile, in addition to other waitresses. Our waitress was friendly and courteous. Waited 45 minutes for a takeout order consisting of 2 simple breakfast dishes and 2 drinks, that was supposedly already done by the time I arrived to pick up. This place has the best breakfast! The 5 of us came here in the morning to eat breakfast and I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine. It also came with hashbrowns. The breakfast is so hearty and filling that I couldn't finish the other half of my breakfast. However, their coffee is just OK. I've had better tasting coffee, but I can't complain since the cup of joe has free refills! If I ever come back, I want to come back and eat their country fried chicken steak breakfast. For a place that boasts home cooking, Patty's fell short on many accounts. My first visit to this location was for a quick business lunch with our Marketing Manager. She ordered an egg salad sandwich and it was inedible. It literally tasted as if someone accidentally spilled a salt shaker into the egg salad mix. The restaurant did remove it off our bill. I wanted to give these guys another chance and a few months later ordered an open faced Turkey sandwich to go. The turkey was dry, even though it was smothered in gravy. Gravy lacked flavor and was very greasy. Everything was so greasy I could only stomach a few bites. For $13 I could have two lunch specials at Weller's Cafe, where they have real home made breakfast and lunch. read more

I used to frequent Patty's Eggnest in Greenwood, but many years ago. Thought today I'd give Mukilteo a try, and it was awful and scary. Ordered the Dixie chicken breakfast, fried chicken with biscuites and gravy and eggs with hash browns. VERY Scary in that the "fried chicken" was barely and I mean barely cooked, meat was very RAW when I cut into it. Obviously I sent it back. The waitress asked me if I wanted anything else and I said I'll just go with hashbrowns and eggs and I am positive she took the plate, removed the raw chicken and gave me the same plate back. Portions are huge and the food is standard, reliable American fare. Nothing special but it's definitely good down-homey breakfast fare. They get one star because my dining companion's half-and-half containers came out of the kitchen warm, and it curdled into a solid, slimy lump as soon as it hit the coffee. I wanted to love this location, as it's super close to our home. However, nothing gave me any reason to ever return. Service was extremely slow; it took 45 minutes to get our breakfasts. The restaurant was hot and muggy and when we got our bill, it seemed a little high, but our order was correct. Later I asked our waitress to check it and yes, she had made an error in her addition and charged us $10 extra. Hopefully it really WAS just a mistake, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. But when I do, I do the traditional, hash browns, bacon, scrambled eggs and sausage, wheat toast...and whatever else would fit on my plate! My friend took us here after a night of going out. This place is very close to my mom's house, so we all wanted to like it... We have been there a number of times (probably in the 15-20 range). The food is consistently pretty dang good diner food. I have to say, I would totally eat breakfast there more often, if it were not for this place's downfall: THE HORRIBLE SERVICE. Every single time we have gone there (with parties varying from 2-5 or so), on many different times and days with different servers, the service has been awful. They are rude to you (unless you're one of their regulars or favorites; you can see them chatting and smiling with the regulars). They never smile. They act like you are a big inconvenience to them. It's really weird. It's like something out of a Twin Peaks episode, and not in a good way. Bottom line: good diner food, crap everything else.
