Let me preface this by saying I never feel motivated to write reviews, ever, even good ones, but this place irked me to the core......
Let me begin by saying I did not purchase a car from here, I only test drove a vehicle. I did make an appointment and I was met promptly at the front desk by a salesperson(name isn't important, not my intent to get anyone in trouble, but to give an opinion of the dealership). Before I tell this tale, I should preface that I was dressed like I was going to the gym. Shorts(it was like 20 degrees out), old track jacket, and sneakers. I had rolled out of bed in Connecticut at 4am and driven my in laws to airport after they were here for the birth of my son, so I was a mess, no sleep, yada yada! I really went out of my way to go to this place, what a friggin mistake
As we sat down and started speaking, I sort of got the feeling that this gent was going thru the motions and really didn't think I was worth his time. Not that he was nasty, just sort of curt, very short answers, not the usual cheery/smiley sales person you might expect. I kind of felt like I was being booked at a police station or interrogated by the FBI "your name?" "your phone number?" "your address?". I don't know if this somehow tied into my appearance, but who knows. Now, don't get me wrong, I certainly don't need my ass kissed, but this was downright ice-cold treatment, like awkward talk in an elevator.
We got into the car and started driving. I noticed a check-engine light and asked what was wrong. I was told "oh they will fix everything before you buy the car". Not exactly the smartest thing in the world to say while a person is test driving a car, let alone having an engine light showing on a supposedly CPO 2012 750Lxi with only 3700 that your asking 66K for, which, supposedly, was examined by the BMW master mechanics. Hmmmmmmmm! Makes you think, doesn't it
This was all well and good, certainly not the best experience Ive had at a dealership, but certainly not the worst. However, the worst was yet to come.
We get inside and it seemed that this man was basically trying to get rid of me. We barely sat down and he was giving me his card saying "thanks for coming in" blah blah. I had to ask if they even wanted to evaluate my trade, which was curious, because usually, that's the first question they ask at a dealership.
After I told him year, make, miles, and model, he took my keys and didn't even ask where my car was??? He walked the opposite way of the lot, I assume, to some other office to talk to a manager, or maybe to the bathroom to take a leak. Who knows. After a few mins, he came back and gave me 14-14.5K, which was a serious lowball. Then, this man had the nerve to tell me that it will probably be less when they actually look at the car. THEY DIDNT TAKE THE TIME TO WALK TO THE LOT TO EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR!!! After taking my key, this moron wasnt even smart enough to lie and say they did look at it!
Now, at this point, I knew these turds were scammers and liars. I proceeded to tell him that I had the car evaluated at 4 different dealerships and received 19.5k twice, 20K, and 19K. Plus, NADA, Blackbook, Edmunds, KBB, all reflect similar numbers. This nimrod's answer to this was that the other dealerships were actually scamming me, and that they werent giving me a real discount on the actual vehicle, just inflating the trade number. I guess NADA, Blackbook, Edmunds, KBB were also somehow scamming me too. He then very curtly told me, "well, thats the number we'll give you, and the price on the car is already discounted, so let me know" That was it!
If youre in the tri-state area, there are way too many other BMW dealers to go to that this joint can surely be avoided. This was my only experience with a BMW dealer, since, IMO, the 7 series cant touch the S class in any respect, which is the car I am now focusing on. The BMW just didn't suit my taste, as you basically feel every pebble you run over in the car read more
