I had the Lengua a la Mexicana. I was a little disappointed to see the lengua all diced up. I wanted to see nice thick slices of lengua. But boy was I surprised! The lengua was very good! The lengua was very flavorful and tender. The dish was very good! I could not believe how tender the lengua was. I would definitely order it again. The red and green table salsas were also very good. So I went here not too long ago to grab some food for the office and I. Like clockwork I tried the lengua ( tongue) burrito, horchata ( rice milk ) and I also got some tacos for a coworker. The meat in the burrito was not fresh at all and the horchata had a sour taste to it. I'm assuming most people in Barrington don't eat lengua let alone know what the hell it is, so I imagined that the meat was probably old and they didn't want to waste it. Understandable, but unfortunately when you're dealing with food, ESPECIALLY meat products, you need to keep it fresh all the time. No questions asked. I'm assuming the same scenario stood for the horchata as well. It sucks to have to leave such an awful review especially for a new business but hopefully this will make it to management and they will make the right choices in the future as far as food quality / food management is concerned. The staff was very friendly and the decor was comfortable. I look to give em another chance in the future and hopefully my next experience changes my tune. read more

We were driving through Barrington and looking for lunch. The reviews made me stop in. While parking, we were trying to decide if we wanted to go in. It didn't look too great from the outside. We decided to go in based on the reviews. While at the counter deciding what to order, locals all had suggestions. (Very very friendly patrons) The lady at the counter was so warm, friendly, and welcoming. She is a gem of an employee. I ordered a queen steak burrito upon suggestion of a patron. He was right, it was amazing. My husband ordered a king burrito and was very happy. My daughter ordered cheese enchiladas. They were soaked in juice and soggy. That being said, we would definitely go here again when we are in the area. read more

By far the worst place ever! Placed an order for pick up, and the order was wrong. Ok, we all make mistakes I ordered a burrito with steak, rice, tomato, cheese, and avocado. When I took a bite my burrito did not have steak in it. Go back to the place so they can fix it and the guy at the register had an attitude and accused and asked if I took the steak out of the burrito. Like no this is why I'm back here because you did not give me what I ordered and paid for. I got out of work late just trying to grab some food to go and you think I wanted to come back to fight at the fact that you couldn't take an order correctly. He put his filthy hands all in the burrito looking for the steak and says his cooks would never make a burrito without putting meat in it! This place is filthy since he put his hands all in the burrito and then gave me money back because i insisted on getting my refund instead of arguing and feeling insulted that I took the steak out. So he touched the burrito and touched cash, like ewwww!! The WORST customer service EVER!!! DONT GO TO PAULS BURRITO!!! It's a disgrace having this place in such a nice town!!! We need a new authentic Mexican place in Barrington, I've had WAY better Mexican food but besides that it's all about the service you get. They need an attitude change and better customer service if they want to run a business!! Good food. Slow service if it is busy. Only 2 cooks and one hostess. 1 steak burrito and 2 beef burritos. Each one was not exactly what was ordered but still good. The amount of steak on the king steak burritto was small so next time I would order extra meat. The fresh salsa was great and so was the verde sauce. I will go back again. read more

I hate to have to write bad reviews, but here is a reason for a non-returning customer. Just had one of the worst experiences ever. I ordered the Horchata and they made it with salt instead of sugar and it was the worst tasting thing i've ever had in my life. I almost threw up in the place and felt sick to my stomach. Then for the icing on the cake I get back to my office on a to go order and they screwed up my order. I ordered steak tacos and got beef tacos. Figure it out...
