I went to Pavilions yesterday looking for New Bridge Horseradish Cheese spread that the company's website said was available at Von's and Pavilions. I had been to Von's and no luck there so I went to Pavilions which was a little out of my way. After asking if the product was there I was taken to Dawn in the deli area. She was extremely helpful in trying to locate the product and when it couldn't be found she said she would ask if it could be ordered. In an age where customer service is rare I found her wanting to help refreshing and thought she deserved recognition for going out of her way. read more

Been shopping here for a decade and I think I have finally had enough. Biggest problem: Produce is constantly rung up as more expensive similar items (most expensive potatoes, etc., organic prices when I've purchased non-organic) and the selection is usually vastly over or under-ripe, and frequently moldy (hello, grapes). The rewards program has become increasingly terrible over the years, and now I get less than 10% back on the average trip even though I try to shop the deals and use the app. With a very big Ralphs, Sprouts, and Trader Joe's close by, I used to give Pavilions the edge for only the pleasant demeanor of their employees, but now I can't even get a bagger while they drain my bank account. read more

I have a Vons and an Albertson one block away from my house but everytime I need groceries I head over to Pavilions. It's the best supermarket. Big, spacious, and the best part, rarely do they have lines! They have the best check out management I've seen in a supermarket. Sure there are some times where the lines get a bit long but 90% of the time there are always plenty of check out lanes open and no lines. It's beautiful. Top it off with Starbucks, Panda, a large deli and bread section, and a decent wine selection and you have the near-perfect supermarket. read more

This pharmacy is lousy and unprofessional. Burbank Urgent Care digitally transmitted our prescription to this pharmacy at approximately 4:15 pm on 11/24. A few minutes later I called the pharmacy to see if the prescription had been received. A woman with a heavy accent said she found it & would fill it right now for us. We said fine. We got there about 4:30 pm and the woman with the accent got distracted and another Tech came forward to take our payment. Clearly she had not been adequately trained on the "upgraded" Pavilions Pharmacy computer system. It was clear to us that she needed "Carol's" help. Carol came out and proceeded to tell us that she was doing us a favor by even working on our prescription and staying a little late, even though it was sent to the pharmacy 45 minutes before closing and we arrived 30 minutes before closing. It was clear Carol had somewhere else to be and she made a big show out of closing the pharmacy gate in front of us. In the end we ended up paying $78 for two prescriptions that would have been half of that if this incompetent staff knew how to use the "upgraded" computer system to determine our Silver Script insurance payment amount. We were reminded several times by "Carol" (pretty sure she is considered the "manager".) how she was doing US a favor, even though we got our prescription to the pharmacy long before the 4:45 gate closing. It was made EXTREMELY clear to us that we were not valued customers, but merely an inconvenience to a discourteous, poorly trained and self-interested, self-serving pharmacy staff. I recommend this staff be sent for remedial training on customer service, courtesy and the "upgraded" computer system. Carol even suggested we could come back tomorrow to pick up the prescriptions, even though she knew we had gone to the Urgent Care today because my wife is in the beginning stages of pneumonia. They need to realize they are part of the healthcare process. In healthcare you take care of you patients FIRST. They need to know THEY are there to serve patients. We're 68 years old, and this is by far the WORST pharmacy experience we have EVER had. We know a number of people who live in the Rancho & we are eager to share our experience today with them. We were made to feel VERY unwelcome and believe me, we won't be back. A copy of this review will also be called to Pavillion's Corporate BEFORE the Board of Director's walk thru of the Alameda Avenue store on Tuesday the 28th. Please train them that WE are doing PAVILLIONS the favor, not the reverse, as Carol stated several times. There are many pharmacies we could have sent our prescription to. Also, because this staff is not adequately trained on their computer system, or simply incompetent in it's operation, we are now forced to "send in" receipts to Silver Script & hope for eventual reimbursement. This is a "first" for us in many years of receiving pharmaceutical services. Finally, we recommend remedial management training for Carol, as she sets an excellent example for her staff on exactly how NOT to treat pharmacy patients. If we could give this pharmacy less than one star, we definitely would! read more

I have a bone to pick with this place. It's trying to compete with the newish Whole Foods just a couple of miles away so it went upscale with a kambucha bar, tons of cheeses, a walk-in wine cellar etc. Butt then there is the lame-o bread section -- a so-called staff of life. Next to the new cheeses are the so-called "artisan" breads. What does that mean? In the case of a major supermarket chain, a bunch of products with dough conditioners and preservatives -- and they taste like it. The place has a few good breads but is now charging like $6 a loaf. It used to sell a really good sourdough loaf from a local bakery but discontinued it after the remodel -- what a joke! So, you know what? I head down to Whole Foods where Jeff Bezos sells fresh-made sourdough as a loss leader at $2.99, which is better than virtually anything at Pavilions. This chain should get out of the premium market business. It's clueless. read more

Wow, lots of negative reviews - you guys should go shopping at the Vons near where I live in Culver City sometime. I was shocked at how nice and clean this store was, and they had a huge selection of stuff. Now, I will readily admit that the prices were higher than I'm used to, but I would trade off price for quality any day of the week. They actually have a butcher vs. just a bunch of pre-sliced meats. That has to count for something, right? Anyway, if I'm in the area again and need groceries, I'd definitely be back , but that's probably because the store where I live is so relatively ghetto. read more

I really like this store; I take 2 freeways and pass a bunch of other stores to get here. They are friendly, and have a good selection of items, both regular and specialty, and all at good prices. The only beef I have, that takes away a star, is with the deli department. No matter how many times I stress that I want deli meat sliced thin, I get ham steak thickness. Not sure why this market has only 3 stars. I don't normally grocery shop here so I didn't know my way around. Tom the store manager noticed and escorted me to where I needed to go. The chicken soup was 3/4 empty and he had the kitchen refill it for me. He was very welcoming and accommodating. Best customer service I've ever had at a market. Don't ask the deli attendants for anything special to be done with any food item. I asked for a roast chicken to be cut open to check if it was completely cooked. He told told me he needed to take the next customer, which he did. He helped the next customer as I continued to waited. Finally, he cut the chicken down the middle and it was ok. Instead of putting the plastic lid back on, he took a pair of meat scissors and chopped it up, bone and all. I called to him and said I didn't want it all chopped up. It looked like a mess. I told him I wanted another chicken that wasn't chopped. He said he was going to take the next customer and told me to wait. By the time he finished with the other customer and opened another chicken, I'd been waiting 20 minutes. What kind of customer service is this? read more

I called multiple stores including the Ralph's down my street to make a fancy meat and cheese platter last minute. I kept getting the run around, put on hold, told I had to order a days in advance, which only made me stress out even more since I only had an hour to get food for my party. So I called Pavilions and spoke to George! He was really sweet and totally reassured me that they could help me as soon as I could come down there. As soon as I arrived, Celine was simply wonderful, patient and really listened to my ideas for the platters. She definitely guided me on the different options for the multiple meat cheese fruit platters. I asked her to make me a meat cheese cracker platter and she did it right then and there!! It was amazing and it my platter looked sooo pretty! I also got fruit cheese platter and fried chicken too! I wish I could have taken a pic of it but it was devoured as I brought it over to my party!! Everyone loved the food there was nothing left . I used to love this market and went there all the time but lately the staff and just the whole rearrangement of the entire market has really put a bad taste in my mouth and a lot of other people in the surrounding neighborhood, the managers there are very detached and non helpful especially one in particular. I still do go to the market when I'm really in need for something but most of the time they don't have it, they hardly ever stock things people need and the arrangement is the most stupid thing I've ever seen . read more

Grocery pickup is seriously hit or miss. It seems like it's only ONE person, ONE for everything order pickup answering the phone and bringing out the groceries. If they're outside when you call you have to call back in a few minutes once they get back inside so they can see the orders. There's 2 spaces only for pickup which are usually full. So you're at the luck of spaces around to park while you wait. I worry about my groceries going to someone else because they don't verify which car you're driving. Anyone can say they're me and get what I've paid for. I reserved a pickup slot for 8am and it after because you have until 8pm regardless of your reserved time to pickup. I arrived at 10:45 to pickup. Was asked to call back in a few minutes which I did. And have now been waiting for 30mins for someone to bring out my order. I've watched 3 cars who arrived before me get their grocery orders and leave and I'm still here waiting. It's a great convenience for sure but don't plan on just driving up getting your order and leaving like other places. You may be waiting a while like I have. read more

Beside the fact that almost every single time I shop there..which is a lot because they're convenient to my home...whom ever is bagging is clueless...okay..I'll deal with that..but today, our van was hit in the parking lot while my husband was inside shopping. Clearly no note was left, so when my husband went inside to see if it was caught on cameras (which they supposedly have two facing the parking lot) he found out that they're not working!!! Thank God no one was being assaulted or worse out there that could have been caught on camera! For the prices they charge for their groceries, they should have cameras that work.
