DON'T TRUST THE BAKERY HERE! We ordered a specific themed cake here for a birthday party. We ordered a week in advance. They did not have the toys to complete the cake but said "don't worry we'll get them from another store". Three different employees confirmed this. Fast forward to party day and cake pickup. No toys! Without the toys the cake looked like crap. The manager apologized but said they couldn't promise those toys. That would have been nice to know when ordering! Overall clean store, well organized, but staff is always rude and not helpful at all. They built an area to hold all of the expensive liquor and it's always locked. Problem is nobody seems to ever have the key. I spoke with the supervisor, Sonny Sandoval, and he said he didn't know why it is always locked with no keys around and he really didn't seem to care. As upscale as it gets here in Burbank, this remodeled Pavillions is a hit. Horse owner? Get your 50 pound sack of carrots right there in the produce aisle. Best kept secret -- fresh flowers. Pretty well kept together and quick transaction at the register. Plenty of parking. Got all the typical food I can find at an american store that I needed like cucumbers and flour tortillas lol. Since living in Burbank, I usually make a quick stop about 4 times a week. I want to command the tremendous remodeling work. No doubt I love shopping at pavilions, but I would like to shift this yelp review to MARTHA(cashier). Since day one that she helped me out, I admired her dedication, positive attitude and amazing energy she carry's. Pavilions is the overpriced half of Vons. Same company ownership, but supposed to garner more $$ because of??? Not sure why. But this review isn't about that. I only go here occasionally because it's on the way home from work and can make sense. This review is about the store now, as of 8/2018. The big fancy remodel that was supposed to improve something? Not sure what the desired goal was, but it's literally terrible. First of all - this is a Very large store - wide. So, if things aren't grouped well, you might make quite a few passes back and forth trying to find things. Before my hip replacement, I simply couldn't do these long distances - SO frustrating! Now I can walk properly, and they remodel, and again change it all, even worse arrangement than before. Why is there an entire wall of toothpaste, and yet didn't have the one I usually get?? They make a huge area for their wine, beer, liquor dept - and an area for wine tasting. Really? That's what you're going for? Wine tasting, like it's a hang out for people? Ridiculous. The cold cases for the meats are so cold you can't touch them - PLUS!! they have open spaces in them which allows all the cold to escape making the area frigid, and not very smart cost wise/energy efficiency ...?? The shelves for the meats are such that you cannot see the full tray, and if you get an unhelpful employee, like I just did, they don't try to show you - they'll just pick it for you. There's no good way to pull out a tray because the cases are too high as well. Lame. But my biggest complaint is the fruits and veggie area. I buy a LOT of veggies - and you literally cannot find anything. It's grouped stupidly - between organic and regular. But you won't be able to find say, a cucumber, or like me - green beans the other day. And don't bother asking someone - they don't know either. I don't bother any more and save myself the frustration. Ralph's is far better quality and cheaper for this anyway. read more

You must realize that certain brands sell out quicker than others, so please stay on top of it. I have been going there for years only for seafood since they have a wide verity but lately last couple of time I walk in the store and it smells soooooo fishy like fish gone bad even with mask on smells so bad I told the male manager don't remember his name but I thought I give it another try today. Well went to grab Starbucks and walked over to the meat department although it really still stinks like fish I bypassed the smell and bought shrimp and scallops. Shrimp seemed to be fine since it was a bit frozen but the scallops I purchased was about $26 lbs felt slimy and really stinky I still closed my eyes but seriously pavilions I know we all suffered because of this pandemic by you guys need to ck your fish section more often. You have to go on line which is a hassle and impossible for older folks. We only use pavilions for the pharmacy. Carol at the pharmacy is the worst jut like the previous guy said. I waited I line to turn in my prescriptions for over 30 minutes. There were only 4 people including me I. Line. Carol complained about the new computer system. I asked her if she complained about it and she replied that this was the last store to get it and they have had it since October. Horrible horrible Manager Claudia no management skills. It always boggles my mind when certain people get a job for a skill they do not have. I come to this Starbucks everyday to get my coffee a triple shot of espresso and it has always been the same price $2.70. At an actual Starbucks it's $2.65 but I come here before I teach my class through zoom, because it's close and all of the other stores are closed. So the girl tries to charge me $2.85 and I tell her something must be wrong because I've never paid $2.85 I've always paid $2.70 and she was so rude and said well that's what the price is today...wait what???? So you just decide to charge different amounts on different days or what and so I tell her I have receipts to show her and if she could look at it and tell me why there is a $0.15 increase on a basic drink and she rolls her eyes and says she wouldn't be able to explain and that she just hits a button and whatever price comes up is what it is. Today is Sunday I was just here Friday and paid $2.70 so all of a sudden yesterday the price jumped $0.15 over the weekend? No explanation no care, no hello how can I help, let me show you, nothing. This is my hard earned money and to you $0.15 may not be much but to me and the principle of being charged correctly is. And how dare Claudia in a management position just brush it off and not even attempt to explain this difference. So basically your ripping people off in a pandemic...awesome great job!!! I had a teacher tell us once that even if you are overcharged a penny to fight for it because it's your money and you shouldn't have to just accept it just because it's a penny as over time that penny can turn into thousands or more. I've used Pavilion's pickup for several months; usually fine, although not always ready at the time reserved. That, I can live with; I get that it's stressful times, they're short-staffed sometimes. But yesterday's order was mistake after mistake. Pro tip: get out of your car, check the list with the items while the worker is still standing there. I know,I know, kind of defeats the purpose of ''contactless shopping." Get it together, Pavilion's, it's not rocket science! HAVE your workers call out the items as the shopper looks in the bags. You'll have many fewer pissed off customers. read more

There are no baskets at the front of the store at the right-side entrance. Every night it's the same thing. They don't care about essential workers who have to shop at night, the shelves are empty and most registers are closed. Advertised items not available and "due to the pandemic" there are no rainchecks. So while the city tells us to stay home as much as possible, you have to go back to the store every day if you want your blueberries. The shelf price of one item was $1.67 and they charged us $3.69 at the register. This was on Saturday and the special price had started on Wednesday so they charged people incorrectly for 4 days before someone finally got a clue. They do get one star because they are no longer locking one of their exit doors at 8pm every night, which was a violation of state fire code. read more

Pavilions is a big, spacious, and friendly grocery store that welcomes all customers. If you have different tastes, you must come here to satisfy your needs. They have many styles of foods and they sell them at moderate prices. Occasionally, I see them generously hand out samples of foods that I've never really been open to. From sushi to international fruits, their generosity leaves a smile on my face every visit. Though I prefer to use the self-checkout lanes, the staff & cashiers are very friendly and provide excellent customer service. To add the fact that this grocery store is huge, they have additional stores that sell things like a pharmacy, floral department, coffee shop, and much more! This review is review is really for the delivery company that Pavilions is using now. I couldn't find their name but I'm pretty sure delivery is outsourced. Pavilions was out of some things I ordered so I called the 800 number to cancel the order. A nice lady said she'd cancelled the order with the market and I'd get a refund in a few days. Great. A couple hours later I get a text saying the food had been delivered. It had been left in the sun by the sidewalk where anyone walking by on the street could [and did] rifle through it. today November 27 I came to this Pavilions to get a medicine ball and something to eat at there Starbucks when I approached the cashier she pointed to her face to let me know that I have to wear my face covering when I spoke to a Male manager who told me that they didn't "mandate" the mask mandate of which I have seen other customers walk into the market and literally not have there face covering on there faces so one thing lead to another and this manager Becca she literally told me that the employees at there Starbucks were accusing me and Becca as well of complaining to much? Becca would say that I would finish a drink and tell them that it was made wrong? and she starts saying that she's a witness of this? and she had the absolute nerve to tell me that even though I got vaccinated she read on the CDC website that I was at her store "spreading COVID" that really hurt me and she had no right whatsoever to say such a thing she was being totally and completely unprofessional she needs to be fired from her job and disciplined! Pavilions has very poor selection and very high prices with non-existent customer service. More reminiscent of a bargain-basement chain than the kind of upscale market they pretend to be. Holy jacked-up prices, Batman! Is Vons or Pavillions even trying to compete anymore? I've been into both the Vons on Pass and this Pavillions in the last couple of days and was shocked over their "everyday 'low' prices". For example, they have 12-packs of La Croix sparkling water advertised at $5.49 on an end cap at both locations. At Target and Walmart, you could get the same for $2 less at their every day low price. Their staff used to be easy to find, friendly, and helpful here. I've found them scarce as of late. The only place I can find a smiling employee is at the front check-out line. Even then, the smile isn't as common as it used to be. With that, I see more stock holes in their shelves than I'm accustomed to seeing from them. If you want to save money and hassle, just venture up to Empire Center for Target or Walmart. The prices here are just too much. Reminds me of Haggens prices, and we all remember what happened with them. read more

Last week when I went there needing a good recommendation for wine I was a bit disappointed at first, it seems like the only worker that was assigned in the liquor section did not even bother to care when I asked for help. It was an older gentleman (whose name I think was Gerald). Didn't even look like he wanted to be there. I'm just glad on my way out this other worker Edgar tried his best to recommend a Josh Cellars and even made sure to give me options for flavors when I asked him if anyone else worked there, he was so helpful. I love this store. It's very clean, all the produce is placed on displays by hand (none of the 'dump it out and bruise it' like I always see at Ralphs), the meat and fish departments always smell clean, and the deli has some amazing salads and cheeses. Tom Fardig is the store manager and he's really created a sense of community in the store. His employees are all good people, so quick to help you with whatever you need. They even have a wine expert, Gerald, who's helped me choose the right white wine for meals I've planned. The service here has been MUCH better than I've ever experienced at Whole Foods, because people are friendlier and more laid back. What I like best is all the pre-made items in the produce department. FRESH! Easy to put a meal together between the produce and deli departments. If you need dessert, hit up the bakery. I had NO idea this store location existed. Yay! It wasn't super full or terribly busy. The store was organized in a way that felt very backwards from what I was used to but I was still able to navigate my way through my list and get out in a timely fashion. Parking was a breeze and there weren't any carts in the lot to have to worry about. There was someone outside of the store asking for donations for some cause but it wasn't one that I had the time to learn more about at that time. The produce is beautiful as their displays. The folks who work here are all very friendly. There is a Panda Express inside. I'm always amazed by that now. Their floral department is beautiful! Their arrangements are really something else. I like that I can find so many different varieties of hummus and cheeses here. That is a huge plus. I will be back. I seriously had no idea this store location existed. I really enjoyed my experience here at this Pavilions location. First off, the store is huge. When I walked in I was a little taken aback and excited especially because my local store is on the smaller size. I didn't know that Pavilions could hold such possibilities! They have a Starbucks which is pretty typical for Pavilions, but they also had a Panda Express! I couldn't believe it. In addition to these two restaurants, they also have a bakery and a full deli where you can order meals as well. My friend and I got bagels and, although the bakery was unable to toast them, a very nice lady at the deli toasted it for us. We sat in the small seating area for the deli and enjoyed our bagel. It was a delightful experience. They also have outdoor tables in the front of the store which might be nice to sit at when it isn't so hot. They also have restrooms and they were fairly clean when I used them. They have plenty of checkout lines, so you will get your groceries quick. The prices are a little pricier than Ralph's or Trader Joe's, but when it comes to a grocery store everyone pretty much knows what they are in for. Butchers counter - good selection of cuts and prepped meat dishes. Pharmacy Deli - Pre-made pastas and cheeses and deli meats - fried chicken - sushi counter Fresh flowers and a counter to make special arrangements with balloons.
