Tow guy damaged my front lip of my car and didn't want to take any responsibility for it knowing that it was his fault. I called the GM for reimbursement and they told me they weren't going to do anything since I should have paid attention to any objects in the way. How does that make any sense? The tow guy is supposed to make sure that there is adequate enough space to safely load the car up without damaging anything. The tow guy later tried to lie and say I didn't stop when he told me to stop but I have video evidence showing he kept telling me to keep going which made my front lip get caught on the chain. They said they would promise to call me back about the damage after reviewing the video but they never did, probably because they realized it was completely the tow guy's fault. To be honest I'm really not a fan. They towed my boyfriends truck from my apartment complex while a valid guest pass was good for 24 hours, without warning. I showed up at 11:30 to their office to bail out the truck, they weren't there I called and was hung up on by one gentleman and called back, after them telling me we'd wait 5 minutes for help it was actually 20-30. I'm not mad about waiting just the dishonesty and the rudeness. I've heard their truck come out to my complex between 1-5 in the morning, waking me and my neighbors along with the dogs. They've towed my neighbors cars when they were sleeping at night having them wake up unable to work the next day without a car. Their requested services by customers might be great but their business contracts with complexes make them seem like terrible people. They tow vehicles without warning, no letters warning 24 hours before, no call nothing. A little humanity especially during covid would be nice. Office staff is rude. Prices are astronomical. $89 a day for Storage. My vehicle was towed yesterday at noon. I was here today at noon to pick it up and they had to go to lunch. I returned at 1:30 to pick it up and they're charging me a day and a half storage at $89 a day. Absolutely ridiculous. Payless is the towing company for my apartment complex, and boy, are they a piece of work. Circling the parking lot at night and picking up cars that haven't been called on doesn't bother me. Charging exorbitantly sucks, but that's pretty much what tow companies do. Nothing out of the way there. And if you're illegally parked, hey - that's on you. But the customer service in this place is the worst I've ever seen. In the 3 tows my family has had over the last year and a half (One of which was for a visitor who got towed for parking in a visitors spot!), we have been hung up on, threatened, lied to, belittled, yelled at, put off, and treated like dirt. Mike is the worst of the bunch - for any perceived slight, real or imagined, he'll see to it that you have to jump through ridiculous hoops in order to get your car. He's not alone - for the most part, the customer service in the office is just awful. And my family isn't alone in thinking so - many people, in the complex and out, report such problems with Payless. Look at their online reviews! It honestly appears that this crew is not only allowed but encouraged to mistreat their customers. No amount of complaints will change matters in a company that actually seems to take pride in such behavior, and that's what bothers me. Called one tow company, 4 hour wait. Called Payless and the driver was there is 15 minutes. George (the driver) was so nice and made sure I got into the tow truck immediately, as not to get hit by the inconsiderate idiots on the road, honking at me! The owner, Mike, is rude and obnoxious, and a downright despicable human being. I understand the towing business is really the most pleasant business in the world, but there is a way to treat people with respect and Mike needs to choose another line of business. My car was impounded from the ace hardware store on 312 in federal way about 615pm, 20 min later I was on the phone with Payless asking if they had my car..response was yes: cost was $421 come back after 8am the following day and it would be $40 cheaper..told them I would be there within the next 30 min..got to the entrance/exit where they told me to go, 45 min later and 4 calls later they finally opened up the gate..another 15 min on top of that they released my car..this was by far the worse place ever..bad customer service, over priced, (where the car was at to the yard is less than 1 mile) Furthermore if your car gets impounded after 5pm then it's cash only no debit/credit is allowed read more

Worst business in general I've ever encountered let alone for a tow service. Received a call from my wife stating she was at her sisters apartments and that a tow truck was hooked up to our car. He was extremely rude to her and had her in tears and told her unless she had 260 dollars the car was being towed with our two children's car seats in them as well. I immediately called dispatched where I was introduced to another very rude man who proceeded to tell me that to unhook (not even put back on the ground) was going to be 275 dollars, crazy they don't even have thier rates know among themselves, I guess robbery is robbery. When I arrived the driver had my rear wheels attached and his truck ready to go, I asked if the hook was Complete he said yes and if I didn't pay it was going to be towed. I proceeded to tell him what a moron he was trying to tow a AWD vehicle by just two of the wheels and tear up my transmission if he planned to do it that way, he didn't seem to care and asked if I was the owner of the vehicle. Wanting this nightmare to end, to calm my wife, and get both my children home, I had no choice but to pay up at the time, I fully intend on taking them to court over the over charge seeings how according to RCW they are not aloud to charge more than 135% if the hourly rate. They took my car from my parking place at my apartment building and charged me $400 to get it back. It was a holiday so I couldn't reach my apartment manager to complain. The most delightful man came to tow my car (my baby) after an accident. Treated it with care and managed to help calm me down with heartfelt empathy. These guys are good at what they do. They delt with the insurance people and managed to keep the drama down. They are professional and I think that the negative reviews I have read are a bit overstated. If you park illegally in a signed area, your fault if you get towed. It is standard $500 to release an impounded vehicle in Seattle, where I used to manage an apartment building with limited parking spaces. We had violaters all the time. Do not let these guys talk you into towing your car to their tow yard! They told us we could tow it to their shop and get a quote for repairs. If not, they would buy the car from us. Well once we got to their office, they told us that the guy who towed us was new and he didn't know what he was talking about. They told us we had to pay for the tow fee or they would just keep it and wave the cost but wanted the title. The bill was $108. They ripped off my uncle who they took advantage of as he had no car and no other means of getting it out of the tow yard that day. They said if we didn't give them the title, we would have to tow the car that day out of their facilities and they were going to charge double!!! Are you serious!?
