I haven't gotten to go on a food tour through Italy yet (maybe one day) but this is my favorite italian restaurant I've been to so far! I got the vermicelli/ linguine and clams with the white wine sauce and it was unreal. I would eat it every single day if I could. It also comes with a red sauce option and I want to try that one out next. They didn't skimp with the clams and I left full with a takeout box that I was very excited to eat later! I also got to try my first aperol spritz and it was great. For dessert, my friend and I opted for cannolis and they were amazing. Our server was super attentive and knowledgeable, he couldn't have done any better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice and dark and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely want to come back here again soon!

Lee is such an awesome host while he bartends. The Margherita pizza, the wings, the calamari, the desserts are all quite amazing. We usually go there late evening after 10 PM and luckily it stays open until 1 a.m. or so on weekdays. Give it a try because there's only a few spots in Vienna that stay late with amazing food.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Pazzo Pomodoro feels like a neighborhood trattoria--warm lighting, exposed brick, and the comforting smell of dough hitting the wood-fired oven.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices stay reasonable, so you can drop in on a weeknight without thinking twice. We shared the pappardelle Bolognese and a margherita pizza: the pasta arrived al dente, coated in a slow-simmered meat sauce that tasted like it spent all day on the stove, while the pizza landed with a thin, lightly charred crust, bright tomato sauce, and just enough mozzarella to keep each bite balanced. Portions were generous--one dish per person is plenty, and two fed us with leftovers to spare. Service matched the food: relaxed, friendly, never pushy. No white-tablecloth fuss--just staff who know the menu and keep water glasses full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is casual and homey, so you feel welcome whether you're in sweats or date-night clothes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bottom line: honest, well-executed Italian classics at a fair price, served in a space that makes you want to linger. Five stars.

I really had high hopes for this place and was looking forward to it because of all the good reviews. Upon entering, I was immediately turned off. The place itself seems kind of dirty, stuffy & dusty. We ordered arancini, which I was very excited to try, but I'm not sure why they tasted strange. They tasted like they were either made a while ago and frozen and have freezer burn or tasted kind of soapy. For our entrees we ordered rigatoni with eggplant (added meatballs) and my husband had a pesto shrimp dish (I don't remember the name). These were surprisingly pretty good. I liked the big chunks of eggplant but I do think there was too much sauce. I also ordered a cocktail, it was their Palermo and I'm so sorry, it was horrible. We had to ask the waiter to take it back and I just got a glass of wine. Overall I just really don't think it was worth it, each of our dishes were $30. I know people really love this place, this was just my experience.

It was a typical Saturday night but when I asked for regular cheese not vegan cheese I got told how busy it was. It wasn't a huge difference from sprinkling one cheese rather than the other and I wasn't sure what I was getting since it was so busy he couldn't promise the change. I ultimately received the regular mozzarella cheese. My husband and friend both had the gnocchi and my daughter the pasta. Everything was fine but nothing was great or anywhere near exceptional. The bread was ok and served with butter, Parmesan cheese and oil. I was never asked if we wanted a soda or anything to drink but water was on the table. The dessert menu didn't look great and nothing gluten free for me so it was time to pay and go.

I've dined at a Pazzo numerous times - finally remembered to write a review! It's definitely a favorite in my family for casual friendly Italian; especially their gluten free pizza. I love the Melanzane Parmigiana e Capellini (eggplant Parmesan) as well as their salads. One minor issue: I feel like the salads (especially the house salad) are overpriced for the serving size - but that's certainly not a deal breaker. For dessert, the baci are always excellent!

Very interesting experience here. We walked in before the kitchen closed maybe 10 minutes before so we were instructed to sit near the bar and order off the bar menu that would have been fine if I was not vegan and the bar menu was very limited and it's options. At first we had a server who was clearly displeased with our diverse group. We were granted a new server who was much nicer. He was very helpful and insured that I got some good vegan food. Ended up eating the fried artichokes which were wonderful. I just wish that our first server and customers were not so rude and did not stare at us the entire time.

Service great. Ambiance cozy and welcoming. Food mixed. The quality of the food was great. Fresh ingredients. We had two salads which were both a lovely combination of flavors. The pizza had an excellent crust with loads of cheese yum. Our pasta dishes were a little on the bland side and it wasn't hot. Barely warm. I'd return for the pizza; however, the tomato sauces to me were disappointing. The desserts were both perfect and not overly sweet. Excellent

Dinner menu seems to be the same as the dinner menu from last year. Breakfast we ordered the chicken and waffles and also the lobster eggs Benedict. The chicken and waffle was cooked fresh. He seemed to know a lot of the customers which makes it feel homey. They gave complimentary bread which came with butter, olive oil, balsamic, and other fixings. The bread was super soft on the inside and had a nice crunch from the exterior. My boyfriend and I ordered the calamari, scaloppini mare terra, fettuccini con funghi, and fettuccini al frutti di mare. In simple terms: calamari, a seafood vodka pasta, fettuccini alfredo w mushroom, and veal with lobster bits served with green beans and scalloped potatoes. Surprisingly, I didn't love the calamari. It had a good size but lacked flavor. It also could have been cooked a tad bit more for better color and texture. The fettuccini alfredo was super creamy and had such a strong mushroom taste! The veal was nice but a bit chewy for my liking. The scalloped potatoes were good but nothing special. However the star of the show was the seafood vodka pasta! It had such an amazing vodka flavor with loads of seafood! I have to admit, they put way too many calamari pieces and not enough of the other items mentioned in the dish. Another thing was that I found a strand of hair on my plate. When I notified the server, he said it was just from the green beans but would exchange it for me. Later, he explained that the "hair" was green bean skin.. which was odd to me considering the hair was turning black to white. I didn't appreciate him trying to make an excuse. I decided to look past it even though the server didn't apologize. Good first experience (other than the piece of hair). The seafood vodka pasta is def a must-have. The vibes are great and the owner makes you feel like family.

A couple we've befriended told us they lived in Fairfax for several years. They are big fans of Dolce Vita. We were told that a reservation is necessary as the place is popular. We decided to finally try Dolce Vita this past Saturday and reserved a table for an early dinner. When we got there, the place was practically empty. We were seated at a four-top table and were told that they had hosted a large party earlier in the day. They were still rearranging the dining room when we arrived. The staff was friendly and efficient. During our meal, the manager checked on us more than once. Alas, there is no sign in the dining room indicating where the restrooms are, so we asked the server for their location. Sadly, we weren't impressed with the food. We started with a bruschetta appetizer and also ordered some garlic bread. When the bruschetta arrived, it was very attractively presented. It consists of: "roasted garlic, tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella". The bread was tough and chewy, with little garlic flavor. We've had bruschetta before, and it was made with fresh tomatoes. I picked up a piece, bit into it, only to have half of the toppings fall on the table. The fresh mozzarella was basically 4 thin, small slices that one adds to their serving rather than a sizable ball of mozzarella. There was also a small pile of microgreens that were meant to be added to the bruschetta, an unusual addition. I ended up cutting up the bread, which wasn't easy. Nothing like having to fight with one's food. For my main course, I chose "chicken piccata," which consists of "pan-seared chicken and broccolini in a lemon, caper, and white wine sauce". The chicken breast was well prepared, moist, and tender. The sauce was fine, although I wished it had more capers. As for the broccolini, it was barely cooked at all, not even tender crisp. Again, I had to fight with a menu item. My husband chose to have "baked ziti bolognese al forno" which consists of "ricotta, tomato sauce, beef bolognese and mozzarella." He found part of a bay leaf in the dish. The dish was very cheese-forward, and the cow had walked through it, leaving very little of itself behind. In conclusion, we don't plan to return as it was rather disappointing.

How can that be for a table side entree? But wait... It gets worse... They poured too much pasta water into our plates making it almost like fettuccine soup if there is such a thing. The flavor was fantastic but they should have strained the extra water. But wait... It gets worse. We asked them to heat up our fettuccine. We each had already taken a few bites. The server scraped our plates into one pan and heated them up and re-served table side. The server never should have mixed entrees together. But wait... Well not worse this time but still bad. The front of the house came to our table and said they should not have allowed 3 of us to order their signature entree of fettuccine made table side in a cheese wheel. Seriously? At $39 + 3% for a credit card, you would think a restaurant could figure out how to serve this dish properly. It will be a long time before we go back to Roberto's if ever.
