I bought a 2020 Tacoma on 9/11/20. I found these guys advertising a day after Thanksgiving sale on Instagram. Decent prices so I give the Wilmington store a call to get a recommendation, which was a JBL speaker package & JBL amp. I purchased the components online, which included free shipping & installation. The Long Beach store installs everything on 12/12. Within a week of the installation, I start my truck & nothing from the front speakers. I start the truck again. This time the speakers are working. I shrug it off & will call the shop if it happens again. Well, it does. I take the truck back on January 2 at 2:00 pm. The install tech checks the connections of the amp & output convertor & tells me everything looks good. He tells me that some of the newer cars don't recognize aftermarket speakers causing the speakers to shut down. He said if it happens again that's probably the case & they would need to install something on the speakers to fool the head unit into thinking the stock speakers are still there. Within a couple of days, the front speakers go out again when I start the vehicle. I return the truck on 1/09. After 4 plus hours at their shop Oscar tells me everything looks good & has another install tech come in & talk to me about it. They said I had my settings way too high & that was probably the issue. This did not make me happy. I had adjusted the gain on the system, but they were actually lower than what they were set at when they first installed the amplifier and output convertor. Their settings made the speaker hiss too loud at a low volume. Oscar then asked the install if the amp may be too powerful for the speakers. I told him they made the package recommendation. Oscar said, "That was Wilmington. Not us." As far as I'm concerned, if you're one company, the recommendation of one store speaks for every other store. I made my way out of there and less than 20 minutes into my drive home, I could hear static & crackling from the speakers. This time three of the four speakers went out while I was driving. The only speaker working was the rear driver side. I immediately call Oscar who has Tim call me. Tim apologizes and says the issue may be with the WAVTECH output convertor. He says that this is not the usual brand they use and that they have the usual brand in stock now. He asks to keep the truck for a few days. I ask him for a rental. He says they cannot because they don't have a commercial account with a car rental company. He then offers to upgrade my speakers to Alpines at no charge. I take the truck at 10:00 am on 1/21 so they can take it apart & reinstall everything from the beginning. They call me on Friday, 1/22 to tell me everything is working fine. Someone from their shop even drove my truck for half an hour with no static or shut off. On the drive home, the audio system is working just fine. I check to see the installation & see they installed the amplifier so I could not access any of the switches. I could not adjust the amplifier I owned. The truck sits in my driveway all weekend until I start it up Monday morning. Guess what? No sound in the front speakers. I call Tim to let him know. I tell him, "I've been pretty patient & reasonable with you guys, but enough is enough." He agrees to remove the amp, output convertor, wiring & replace the panel where the components were installed & refund my money for the amp & output convertor. I decide to keep the speakers. I take the truck in on 2/06 at 11:00 am. Oscar refunds the cost of the output convertor & installation kit in cash. He says the refund for the amp must be initiated by Tim & comes from onlinecarstereo.com. The following week I get an email saying my card has been refunded but they are charging me a non-refundable delivery fee of $18.99. I text Tim asking him to waive the fee. He calls me, says he cannot do anything for me, & to call the website folks myself to ask for the $18.99. He goes on to tell me about everything they've done for me, including the free speaker upgrade and not making me return the components to the website warehouse myself. They charged me $18.99 to send a product back to the warehouse that I returned to a physical store. Who does that? He then goes on about business they lost having my truck in their installation bay multiple times. How is that any of my concern? Had they done things right you would be reading a positive review. What about the time and gas money my wife, kids, & I wasted returning to their shop multiple times? Or the gas they wasted driving my truck? No one has offered to reimburse me for any of that. Ridiculous. I call the website & talk to Juan who says only accounting can do the refund & says he will call me back by 4 pm on 2/15. Never received a call. By my estimate, the time & money we wasted going back & forth to this shop goes well beyond $18.99. Frustrating 3 month experience. I only read the bad reviews about this place a month into the 3 month ordeal. My bad. Never again. read more

Came in here a couple days to get a custom made subwoofer, the final product was great. The only problem with this location is that they are way over priced even when being told you are being hooked up. They tend to give you a total price for every item making it seam like the price is right but if you do some research on each item you'll see that you end up paying more than if you buy at other retailers or buy online. The customer service they give you is great before you make a purchase, but once that purchase has been made they tend not to care as much as the beginning. They promise you top quality work but towards the end of the work they either have missing pieces and incorrect items installed. In my case they installed a difference amp making extra holes on my plastic trim which looked horrible towards the end. I would not recommend this place as they are after your money only, they have no intention have satisfy the customer with a quality product and labor. You are better looking somewhere else where they will be giving you better prices and better service... read more

*****************CONSUMER BEWARE************ *********ONLY REASON THEY GET ONE STAR IS BECAUSE NEGATIVE STARS DON'T EXIST IN THIS RATING SYSTEM*************** Quite honestly I don't know where to begin....but if anything I am partially to blame as I neglected to check the Yelp reviews. Had I done that first NEVER we would have never taken our car there. Ok here goes....my husband bought a 66' Chevy SS (See Classic Cars of Sarasota for my review) needless to say the radio didn't work. We met with the owner (I can't remember his name the middle eastern guy) who as would be expected was a complete con-man (I think I would rather deal with a used car sales man than with this slime ball). Anyhow we settled on buying a stereo with (4) speakers for $600 out the door. OMEN #1 He GUARANTEED that it was a quality sound system and we would not be disappointed. OMEN #2 He also GUARANTEED that it would only take a few hours to complete and we would have the care back the same day. OMEN #3 While we were working out our "deal" two separate people came to the store with complaints about not only the sound system, but the work and the service they had received......we should have just left and gone elsewhere at this point!! No prior to them starting the installation we specifically told the guy that we did not want ANY modifications done to the car, as it is a classic car and any slight changes would drastically reduce the value of the car. PROBLEM 1 A "few hour same day" job turned into a 1 week....yes 1 week project. How hard is it to install a radio?????????? PROBLEM 2 After being specifically told NOT to modify the car in anyway we discovered that they had drilled holes in the inside panels of the doors for the speaks....mind you the car already had speaks with their corresponding holes, yet these guys felt compelled to unnecessarily and WITHOUT PERMISSION mutilate our car. PROBLEM 3 We specifically asked for low profile speakers in black that would be flushed against the door panel....again someone had the bright idea of putting in huge speakers that stuck out about 1-2 inches with chrome...really chrome!!!!! PROBLEM 4 Now the radio/stereo had to be placed in the glove compartment. The glove box was removed and lost....and they had the audacity of calling us liars when we asked where our box went. The owner (again the middle eastern guy) swore up and down that the car did not come with a glove box and that he nor his people were responsible for it. PROBLEM 5 The awesome stereo system that we purchased did not work as promised...first it sounded horrible, an 80's boom box would had been better. Not to mention that the radio (FM/AM) did not work, but again "he" was not responsible because we had purchased an "average" sound system......remember OMEN #1?? all of a sounded our "best" sound system turned to "average." We were told that the problem laid with the cars antenna because it was old and not compatible with the new stereo system. Yet somehow these "experts" failed to mentioned it before the work started. And even after all that the owner tried to sell us more equipment that would make what we already had "the best sounding" there was. Yeah not going to fall for that one again. PROBLEM 6 The customer service over all was atrocious. They have no concept of quality customer service and of course when something is done incorrectly or they just blatantly do what they please...they don't take responsibility for their mistakes and blame you the customer. Please please save your time, money and frustrations....go somewhere else. However, if you like being talked down to, treated like crap and your money stolen then these guys are the ones for you!!!!! read more

Stay away.........Bad experience, and high prices. Called this place two times; first, asking if i need an appointment or do they take walk in's, and Robert said it didn't matter. Second call was the day of my install, and i asked what parts do i need, and Robert said only to bring my radio. Dropped my inifiniti off at 4 pm, received a phone call, saying the install will cost an additional $40, above the $60 I already paid installer net (amazon.com company). I told them no problem, even though i thought that was a little expensive, since i'm doing a basic radio install with no bluetooth connections. Didn't hear from the shop for two and half hours, i finally called to see what was going on. Robert said the install was done, but there is no antenna adapter. In other words, these guys completed my radio install, but didn't put the adapter in, therefore, i had no am/fm radio working, signal. Who does that? Went back to pick up my car, and told them how frustrated i was that i need to come back, and get the antenna adapter installed again, and Robert says, "if you don't like our store go somewhere else, and that it is my responsibility to have the antenna adapter." No, Robert, wrong. How about you call me, and let me know that, or check before i leave the shop, that you have all the parts available, before doing the install. To make matters worse, Robert tells me that he can't get the part till monday, and that he charges $20 for it. I end up finding it for $5.94 at another LB shop. If you want unprofessionalism, you'll find it at this shop. O, and by the way, parking is a hassle at this shop, a narrow tight driveway to pull up in, and equally tight parking spaces. First of all. My friend told me to go there to get HID changes. It's done correctly, but it took 2 days to finished due to the other customers and they got only 2 guys working, sometimes 1. But i like that guy working there callee,"Mike" or something I cant remember, he knows everything and also a good guy. HoweverThe owner is so evil, he's let the guys working 10 hours straight pay with minimum wages. Instead he charged us for unbelievable highest price. The funny thing is; they act so cool in business. The owner doesn't know much about the car. As I remembered on April 29. He said, "50% off everything and free installation." I was so excited and get ready for my next car customization. I wanted to install front dash navigation system + back up camera. Can you guys estimate the total price? $700 period. The owner says,"it was $1400 and he took 50% of that." Because I was too excited somehow I agreed with the guy and he gave me a receipt. A day later, I did the Google search about the brand and it only cost $200 or less and the backup camera is less than 30 bucks. What the hell is going on with 50% off. I was so mad to get tricked by them. So this is my story and I hope you guys be aware of it, don't walk into the same path like me. I came here, after reading several positive postings and out of my belief for supporting local businesses. On 2/15/2014, I brought my 2006 Nissan 350Z in to have some speakers, MTX and Kicker, installed which I did not buy from PCH Custom Audio. My head until is clarion CX501 (more than decent radio). I bought the speakers to upgrade the sound in my car, with no expectation of a ridiculous upgrade or to crazy audio experience just an improvement over my stock speaker. I hate to say it, but after these guys messed with my car the sounds from the speakers is 100% worse (distorted, less bass, and rattling noises). I don't confess to be a 100% tech expert when it come to cars but there is no way in HELL that my car should sound worse. I even brought this to the shop managers attention a few days later only to be told that I needed a subwoofer and that my speakers were not made for my car which is not the case as I had the fitting capabilities verified via www.crutchfield.com. Bottom line paid $100 for the speakers, $100 for these guys to install, and I am 100% annoyed and my car sound like a complete piece of crap. Thanks for nothing. I called this shop was told to bring in my car around 2PM (made it there about 2:30PM) and did not get my car until 9:00PM even though I dropped my car off. I hate to give such a harsh review but have to be honest. These guys hurriedly installed my speakers, insulted me, and had me wait a ridiculous amount of time to turn around crappy work. Icing on the cake - we'll sell you an subwoofer with a custom made box for $275 are you kidding me - STAY AWAY....should have taken my car back to Shelby's. I than asked him how much for the installation if I bring my own stuff and instead of telling me, he told me I didn't already have my own equipment. SMH I asked him, how do you know? I called around a lot of shops in Long Beach before deciding to go to PCH Custom Audio, and I'm glad that I did. The whole staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with answering all the questions I had, They offered up a lot of great suggestions with the type of sound I wanted to get out of my audio setup. Their prices are also great. After calling around town, they beat some of their competitors by more than half. There are also printable coupons off their website. The only gripe I have would probably be the parking situation: spaces are extremely limited and your only option is to park off the block in the nearby neighborhood, which needless to say (given that side of town) isn't the friendliest. So call ahead of time to see what their workload is like. Overall it was a good experience. I'm really happy with the work they did and am definitely going back to have more work done. read more

This place is amazing!! My sisters car was broken into and set off the anti theft system causing the car to not turn on. The gentlemen here we so helpful with checking numerous different possible problems and even let us keep her car there safely parked in their garage overnight, until we could get it towed back home at no charge.
