    The Biscuit!!

Tam and Trillis forgive the spelling Tam was an amazing champion for our first experience, of Peaches as it was our first time. She recommended the dark roast coffee first off. Excellent recommendation, you smelled the brew before it arrived fully at the table. Stating that the coffee was on point would minimize the cup's perfection!!! Now to the food OMG!!! First DUCK BACON excellent I don't eat pork except bacon. Yes, I'm on the team that bacon is not pork LOL!!! The duck back to was good. I couldn't taste the difference. I hate turkey bacon, EVERY TIME Ive tried turkey bacon, it was tasteless and expensive. The duck bacon was lean and tasty. I highly recommend trying it. Second for me is the biscuit. The biscuit was so good, I sat long enough to know I needed to take one home. I had the catfish, grits and greens. Everything delicious. The catfish was mouth watering. My friend had the peaches' special. First of all, those potatoes called my name!! Delicious. The icing on the cake was the Chef's visit. Trellis or Trillis, I'm from the country, so that's what I heard!! He visited our table, and we shared our delight in the well-prepared meals. It's evident that the meals were prepared with love and care. Everyone at the restaurant was pleasant. The staff were all professional and taking care of business. The space is open you don't feel as if you are seated with a neighboring table. It was bright and well lit. We had an amazing experience. I highly recommend! The portions are generous. I had lots of extras do I have dinner for tonight. When you visit, let them know I said Hi!!! Yes, Im going back so others have an opportunity to experience; great food, excellent service and phenomenal space!!!

Unlike President Obama I do not think this is a ravingly delicious must try restaurant, BUT the eclectic menu, STUNNINGLY GOOD DUCK BACON, attentive service and warm though a bit dated atmosphere, make this restaurant a place to try. I recommend the Breakfast Bowl: Potatoes, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, scallions, & cheddar cheese with your choice of egg. Add a side of Duck Bacon; trust me you should try this dish!

Great breakfast treat, fantastic friendly attentive service, and family style group seating. Diner seating available too! It did not disappoint! Thank you!!

Visiting from New Orleans! I was brought here by a local and appreciated the personality of the place. Service was super slow and it seemed like the owner had to come out and help as a few waiters were in training, but overall the experience was good. Good music and wasn't too busy. We ordered the bayou bowl and the catfish eggs and grits. Highlight was the catfish for me, once I requested it to be fried hard. Don't mind returning!

The poor waiter was alone and it took almost 45 minutes for food. Food was ok just ok they serve juice in bottles, I guess thats to prevent shrinkage??? maybe on a different day when I am feeling more something...

I saw Peach's featured on the news, so I've been interested in trying them for a while. I wanted more from this black-owned business in Hyde Park. I understand Peach's is a diner, so my expectations were a little laxer, but I gotta say... it was a mediocre experience. We arrived at 8:50a. It was a slow Wednesday morning, and we were seated immediately. Our food was out by 9:10a. Pros: - They have MANY peach-flavored items, including coffee! (Peach-flavored coffee sounds like a stomach ache. Haha! Just my opinion.) We went with regular black coffee! Lol! - There's hot sauce on each table! Cons: - No salt/pepper shakers on the table (they use packets). - The music is a bit too loud for my liking. If they had a full house, we would've been yelling. I get it; It's a diner. No one did anything wrong. My server was fine. My food was fine. Honestly, it was fine. And that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. MANY would love this straightforward no nonsense diner's approach. However, I didn't have or experience anything that will bring me back.

Seems like they may be resting on their laurels in that more than 20 years ago, the former first family ate there often when they lived in the neighborhood and prior to moving to DC. The prices were reasonable, but the food was not good and was not even worth the reasonable price I paid for it.

I'm actually writing this review while standing outside waiting for my Uber. We ordered the Ernie's Fingers, Southern Curry Chicken, and Pimento Mac & Cheese. Let's start with tha ambience. The decor is inviting but it is VERY small inside. On to the food. The Ernie's Fingers were especially disappointing. For $15, I expected much more. They were essentially egg rolls filled with collard greens and cornbread--no meat at all. While the concept sounded interesting, it didn't justify the price tag. The biggest disappointment, however, was the food quality compared to the cost. The Southern Curry Chicken was dry and overcooked and really needed some type of sauce. The rice was simply plain white rice--nothing memorable and certainly not what I'd expect for a dish that costs around $40 - chicken and rice, literally. The pimento mac & cheese was also much saltier than I prefer. What made the experience even more disappointing was how we were treated. By the end of our 90-minute dining window, we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. It felt as though we were being rushed out of the restaurant, which left a bad impression and took away from what should have been an enjoyable meal. To add to that, the automatic 20% gratuity was also a letdown. I have no problem tipping for great service, but considering the overall experience--from the food quality to feeling rushed out the door--it didn't feel deserved. Maybe I visited on an off day because so many others have had great experiences. I can only speak to my visit, and unfortunately, between the overpriced food, disappointing flavors, feeling like an inconvenience at the end of our meal, and the automatic gratuity, it simply wasn't worth the cost for me.

I'm glad that I did. We were greeted upon arrival, and seated shortly thereafter. Our server, David came over and spoke to us about the menu selections. We were extremely satisfied with his service. I was truly impressed with Lou, who I assume was operating in a managerial capacity. He went from table to table checking in with the guests to find out if anything was needed. He removed plates of finished food from tables, and even explained the desert options to us. Well done. The food was delicious! I usually have to add salt to my food. I did not have to add anything here. The food was perfectly seasoned. We all enjoyed our choices. I would highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

We arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled reservation, but we were seated within five minutes of arriving. The server, David, greeted us promptly when we were seated. He mentioned that if you're ordering appetizers, they should be ordered with the main meal. While we looked over the menu, water was offered. I ordered Blackened Catfish over brown rice and carrots. The catfish was tender and perfectly seasoned. My brother had grilled flounder with creamed corn. Like the catfish, the trout was tender and well-seasoned. The corn had a slight sweetness. Roger had Short ribs and mashed potatoes. The ribs were tender and did not need any sauce because they were seasoned well. We also ordered a side dish of Macaroni and Cheese. It was delicious! A mixture of Gouda cheese and other cheeses. Very creamy! The top layer cheese was baked perfectly! If you know, you know, it's all about the top layer of cheese The APPETIZERS: The Gumbo was spicy but delicious! You only taste the spice at the end . It's not overly spicy; it's just right. The fried chicken gizzards were tender but could have used a bit more seasoning. It was served over brown rice and gravy. If I'm not mistaken, there were maybe 8 or 9 gizzards. The fried green tomatoes were perfect! From the seasoning to the grilled shrimp on top. Oh yes, grilled shrimp with this delicious sauce drizzled over the tomatoes. 3 or 4 shrimp. They were delicious! I've never had fried green tomatoes served w/grilled shrimp--definitely a must-try if you've never had it. For dessert, pineapple upside-down cake with coconut cream on the side. It was soooo good! They could have removed the coconut cream, as it was not needed. And it was a shareable portion for 2-3 ppl. There were other desserts, such as Blueberry Cobbler, Key Lime Pie, and Vanilla Ice Cream. If you're in the Hyde Park area, give these folks a try Oh yeah, the Manager, Louis, was walking the floor. I spoke with him briefly From what I observed, it's a very casual dress code--jeans, shorts, blazers, etc. And I loved the quotes on the outside window of those who were killed, like George Floyd and Sandra Bland. This place was nice! The dining area was clean and decorated nicely. The choice of decor fit the overall scheme I look forward to visiting again, possibly next Spring.
