I have been going to Peanuts for the last 6 years. This place is truly amazing!!!! The services and quality of food are off the charts. It reminds me of a "Cheer" type atmosphere. The Chicken Cesar Wrap is my favorite, they spice it up with jalapeno chips, avocado, and I add pepperonis and olives. Also the Italian, Spicy tuna, English style hot dogs, and Bratwurst are so good. This is my first time here. It's close to my favorite mechanic next-door OC auto care of course. What a gem I have found here lots of beer on tap lots of great food choices. Ok, Willie told me about this place. I went with the spicy tuna sandwich which is life altering experience with extra jalapeños on awesome squaw bread and yeah I'm pretty happy. Cute neighborhood pub. Great for a sandwich and beer or just a place to decompress at lunch time. I would have rated the pub 4 stars, but when it comes to food to go 4 out of 4 order's were completely wrong and each order I got stale bread. Make sure you set your expectations right before heading out there. It is a small cafe with couple of middle aged ladies running it. Food is average and priced accordingly. My office recently moved near Peanuts and I was shocked to see that it's still there and still serves one of the best Italian sandwiches around. I remember eating here twenty years ago when I worked in the area. It's great to see they haven't changed much (why change a good thing). I would take their sub over any of the franchise sandwich shops. I haven't come after work yet, but I may have to bring some co-workers to experience the pub. read more

Great local watering hole! They have cold brew and, as the name implies, roasted peanuts to chomp on. But . . . don't fill up on the nuts as the real jewel here are the sandwiches. The owner suggested the Tuna the first trip there and I was impressed with the flavor and the quality. Next time there, I had the Italian (cold) and again was amazed at the quality. I guess my expectations weren't that high considering the cheap prices charged for these selections. The pizzas aren't half bad either and we enjoy them on Tuesdays! Nothing fancy here, just good food for a good price and a place to hang out for a bit. read more

This is a great little hole in the wall deli with great service and delicious food. It seems the majority of their patrons are regulars and most are on a first name basis with whoever happens to be working that day and vice versa. I've been here a few times for football on Sundays and it's always a great experience. The price is fair and it's a good friendly environment. read more

6 months ago I would have given this place 4 stars, but yesterday I got some major food poisoning from the italian sub. It was pretty warm in there and I'm guessing they can't keep their lunch meat cold enough. Maybe it's more of a winter lunch spot. read more

I had to write an update on Peanuts. The place is still as local as one could get, and even if you stop by for the first time, you are treated like one of the family. Wanda added an outside Patio area, required by the ABC, so now you can have your sandwich and a beer outside. Wanda also added another four taps of premium beers, so there is basically every form of beer available you could wish for between tapped and bottled. Dan finally retired from doing 'His' version of BBQ'd Tri-tip on Saturday, but another great guy started right in, Josh, so he has taken the flag from Dan and is doing his version of Tri-tip to rival Dan's every Saturday. The main thing that prompted me to write this update is a 'Rival' moved in down the street from Peanuts and the new Franchisee has been sending their Managers over to see what Wanda's doing at Peanuts that they are not doing at their place... They even attempted to add 'their' version of Peanuts 'signature' sandwich, the 'Spicy Tuna', with absolutely NO success. I guess you could say that 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'. But heck this is NO imitation by any means. Peanuts has been in the same place, with most of the same Patrons, for over 18 years, that has to say something for Peanuts! It's not a flashy or trendy joint, it IS a local gathering place for locals and others who want a place to sit down, have a really good bite to eat, toss a couple cold ones back visit, talk and commiserate over the latest family incident, news or sports debacle. However if you want spend $9.00 on a mini-baquette filled with iceberg lettuce, a 'mystery' dressing and a precisely weighed scoop or slice of protein filling material, served with the flourish of your Grade schools Cafeteria line cook handing you your tray of yuk!...go down the street. But if you want a damn good over stuffed sandwich served in the 'comfort of home' atmosphere, at a price you cannot beat anywhere for what you get! Well Peanuts is HOME for you and your buddies. If your not pleased with this place, you need to stick eating at 'Le' Schnozintheaire' found at the Spectrum, South Coast Plaza or Fashion Island. You don't come here to BE seen, you come hereto meet your friends, sit back, have a bit to eat, or not, a beverage, watch some sports and talk....gee what a concept! read more

Great place to have lunch, watch sports, enjoy peanuts, drink beers, talk with the owner and other people at the bar. Very friendly atmosphere, great sandwiches and on Tuesday evenings the best pizza. Saturdays are great also for tri-tip sandwiches. Have eaten there a few times and got to tell ya that it was awesome. The sandwiches are huge with meat and the atmosphere is the best. Eat free peanuts and throw the shells on the floor. This was my first time at this establishment. My wife and my friends joined us. The primary reason we came to this establishment was to try their food. We were all craving pizza. Unfortunately we were not aware of their food service hours. At approximately 9:00pm we asked the waitress if we could order a pizza for the 4 of us. She said we could not because the kitchen closed at 9pm. I asked to speak to the manager to see if they could accommodate us since this was our first time and primary reason we visited this establishment. The waitress said, I will let the owner know. His name is Chance. After approximately 10 minutes the owner came out to speak to us. He never greeted us or thanked us for visiting his establishment. Instead he chose to say "what is the problem"? I explained myself and he said, "The kitchen is closed! Then quickly walked away. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Based on the owner's treatment, we will never come here again. Most important we will NOT recommend this place to anyone!!! read more
