I love this place but they have since raised their prices by about $3 which is a bit much for an increase. Tried this spot after reading all the reviews. The food was fresh and tasty. The portions were a good size and the woman taking orders,though extremely busy, took my order with a smile. Only one person can fit in the restaurant at a time to pick up and it was obvious from the line outside that they were running behind. This place is a bit hidden from the crowded Colorado St. It's a little pricey for a typical Thai restaurant. But it provides a good option to Old Town Pasadena. The ingredients are kinda fresh. Mouth watering tasty! For an appetizer I got the avocado roll , I never had a deep fried avocado . It was good along with the dipping sauce. I love ordering fish at Thai restaurants because they usually do a good job with their fish dish. Not this one apparently. 4. Panang Stew Beef The biggest disappointment of the night. No curry taste, all I can taste is peanut. Ok there's a bit spiciness but there's no curry aroma. Very cheap made Panang. Panang is my favourite Thai dish and most restaurants do at least a ok job. This one is.....blank...not only the flavor but also the bowl. Only abt 7,8 pieces of beef and some pepper hiding in this deep Panang ocean. And YES I counted the pieces. Online ordered but missed one of the item (Chicken Satay) when arrived home. Called immediately but kept on doubting us that they included the item. Finally talked and agreed to get the order (pick-up again) next day. On the next day called in on the way to pick-up but doubted us again, putting us in a shoes that we are trying to get the item without paying. And kept telling us to check the items when they had missed putting together the order. Why would we lie over just one item? And why would we bother to make another trip to pick-up over one item. We love Thai food and we loved this place so it is sad to get serviced this way. And to add, as of an item (Mango Sticky Rice)- they had used uneatable mangos. I realized I have rarely eaten Thai food in the SGV, so I stopped by this little hole in the wall when my girlfriend wanted some Thai this past Sunday. It's located two streets down from Colorado in a more quiet area. I recommend parking in one of the parking garages nearby with 90 minutes of free parking! I almost missed this location as it's pretty small and nestled in between a couple restaurants. The interior has a modern, hole in the wall feel with a set of tables in the front and a couple extra lining the back hallway. I appreciated the aesthetic and was excited to see their take on common thai dishes. I came with three people and we ordered the chicken satay, chicken pad thai, and beef pad see ew to share family style. The chicken satay came out first and was pipping hot. It had a strong coconut curry flavor and the peanut sauce enhanced the flavor profile even further. I highly recommend the chicken satay if you're a fan of sweet and savory chicken. Next, the pad thai and pad see ew came out around the same time. The presentation of the pad thai was quite lovely, I enjoyed the crumbled peanut garnish that gave it a modern feel. The pad thai had all the traditional flavors I was craving, the noodles weren't overly sweet or saucy. The pad see ew had strong soy flavors and a nice bounce to the noodles. The extra touch of having some freshly ground pepper on top of the pad see ew helped elevate the flavor of the dish by providing a little kick! One con I noticed was that the beef was on the drier side, which I find pretty common when doing stir-fried noodles. The portions were fairly generous, we finished all three dishes and left quite satisfied. Overall, I thought the food was excellent, satisfying everything I wanted out of some thai classics! A hidden gem! This restaurant isn't located on the bustling streets of Old Pasadena but rather a turn and two blocks away. This is my second time eating at Pearl Thai Eatery and on both occasions my experience was amazing! On this visit, my family and I came at 6pm on a weekday and were seated immediately. The interior is small but when you sit down, it feels comfortable due to the nice ambience and minimalistic decor. The staff were super nice as they recommended popular dishes as well. We ordered the spicy hot basil with tofu ($8.95), the pad thai with chicken ($8.95), and the pineapple fried rice ($11.95). Also, if you check in, you can get a free thai iced tea! The spicy hot basil wasn't too spicy but definitely has a good amount of flavoring. My favorite two dishes definitely have to be the pad thai and pineapple fried rice however (got both on both visits)! I've eaten my fair share of pad thai but I have to award Pearl Thai Eatery's the prize for best one! It's full of flavor and consists of the perfect ratio of noodles to bean sprouts -- something I can appreciate. The pineapple fried rice is so good and every bite of pineapple adds a blast of sweetness to the savory dish. I haven't had many thai iced teas before so I can't compare this to much, but it was soooo good! Not only does it look like a sunset but it's refreshing and sweet. Whenever I'm done with my meal here, I never leave feeling too full or feel like I didn't eat at all. I leave feeling just right -- I think 3 dishes are good for a group of 3-4. Just happened to find this place after looking for a place for dinner after my massage at Burke Williams. This place is small and quaint. It has a nice ambiance. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food was amazing and fresh. I had a hard time deciding as there were some many great vegetarian/ pescatarian Options. I decided to stick to my usual choice. Probably one of the best Pad See Ews I've had in my life. The tofu and broccoli were perfectly cooked. The peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls was very tasty. I definitely wished I live in the area to eat here more often. I definitely will return when I'm back in Pasadena. They had a great summer roll. Probably one of my favorites. I ordered thru post mates their spicy thai noodles. I unfortunately could not eat it because they threw in chicken to the noodles even though on the menu it doesn't mention meat in it at all. It's really disappointing because the summer rolls were delicious and bomb. I ended up throwing out the noodles. Such a shame. If you eat meat I bet this place is awesome. Only three stars for it being more vegetarian friendly. I'm bummed out. Perhaps I should clarify next time no meat but still, you shouldn't add things in unless you tell us it's there. Food was horrible. I've ordered from here twice now, and this second time ensured that I will not eat here again. I ordered the Spicy Fried Rice with Chicken and assorted tempura. The rice was bland, and fairly mushy. I ended up throwing half of it away it was so bad. As for the tempura, it had weird breading to it. Not the usual tempura breading. They also give sweet chili sauce, which is super weird to me. They don't give you the normal tempura sauce. The assorted tempura was ok at best. Def not coming back. read more
