I'm not sure why there are such poor reviews for Pearle Vision, but I can assure you that I've had nothing but positive experiences here. I've been coming here for three years now for my annual eye check-up and to get contacts/glasses, and contrary to other places, they are friendly, professional and willing to all the dirty work (aka: going through the hassle of ordering contacts and setting up your rebate for you.) There are really two sides to the location: Dr. Patel's office and the retail store. Dr. Patel is young, but very knowledgeable and easy to talk to- plus he remembers his patients (or fakes it really well.). Veena, the receptionist is sweet and get's you processed in and out quickly (and gives you fun free contact solution and case samples!) James and the rest of the retail staff treat you like family (the kind of family you like)- he got everything set up and ready to go for me and made sure that everything was as convenient as possible. Really the only reason that I'm holding off that last star is two reasons: 1. Insurance- They DO take some insurances, but not all. Make sure you call ahead to confirm before going in (don't worry, they'll walk you through all of the benefits before.) 2. They're waiting room is not the most comfortable. However, luckily wait times are usually no more than a few minutes. read more

Jackie was amazing, helpful and honest in her opinion on the styles I had picked out, although I knew exactly what I wanted when I came in. Dr. Harren (spelling) Patel was/is the best thorough and polite optometrists I have ever met and considering this is in Buckhead , that is saying a lot. This is not a place you want to recommend to anyone who needs glasses promptly or a nice eye exam, unless you want to pay extra fees out of pocket for an exam well done. However, the people who work there are all very nice but the company itself is not. LensCrafters on N Druid Hills is a lot better, their exams are well done without the extra fees for normal procedures that shouldn't cost extra. Also, they will have contacts for you to try on and take home right away, and your glasses will take less than 10 days to get to you unlike these folks. read more

I recently bought Amazon's new Echo Frames and was so excited about it that I rushed out to Pearle Vision to start the process for getting the lenses before the frames arrived. The clerk was skeptical until I showed her the specifications on my Amazon receipt when she very confidently assured me that they would have no problem getting the lenses for me. The next day, my frames arrived and I promptly took them to Pearle Vision to continue the process. The clerk told me that it would be 2-3 days (which I verified meant business days) and they would be ready for me. I patiently waited 2 days longer than that, returning the same day the following week after I had started to wonder why I was not yet contacted. The clerk checked on things, and realized that the company had stored my frames in the back room, and never sent them to the location that was supposed to fit the lenses to them. She then claimed that with the included shipping and handling time that was still necessary, it would take at least another 3 business days to complete my purchase. At this point, I was upset and felt that I deserved to be compensated for their errors. I was set in the corner to wait for a manager for the better part of half an hour. After complaining a bit to the manager, she agreed to give me a 14% refund for my troubles, and to get the glasses completed for me and back to the same store ready to go by no later than noon the following day. This felt reasonable to me and I left feeling comfortable that they had done a good job of making amends. No more than an hour later, I received a call from their store stating that they didn't think they could install the lenses without breaking the wiring in the frames and destroying them completely. At this point, I was given one of two options, accept a refund and come get the frames the next day, or give them permission to destroy the expensive frames while attempting to fit the lenses. I made it clear that I didn't like either option and deserved more than a full refund for all my time and travel, but they refused. At this point, I did not trust anything that they were telling me, and insisted on getting the location that the frames were currently at, multiple cities away, and rushed out to retrieve them before the store closed and more problems could arise. When I arrived at the store, they had the police there waiting for me, and they refused to do anything other than refund the purchase price of the item that they refused to sell to me. No compensation for my time, renegging on their promises, or the gas and wear and tear on my vehicle with the multiple trips I had to expend to straighten things out, included the extra long drive required to retrieve my frames hoping that they hadn't already destroyed them. And the case that I had left them in had conveniently disappeared, while they claimed that they never accept cases to protect expensive frames that are brought in for service. Then the company had me trespassed from their store for good measure. All because I insisted that they deliver on a contract. read more

What stinks about this is that Dr. V is FANTASTIC however the office management is the worst I have ever experienced. After my appointment, Dr. V gave me trial lenses. I had to call the office 3 different times to finally get someone to order my contacts for me. Then, the office never called to confirm my contacts came in. When I called the office to check on them, they informed me that someone had tried to call me however the date they gave me was before my original appointment. I finally got my contacts however once I got home, I realized they gave me the wrong prescription for one of my eyes! They asked me to mail in my contacts that were incorrect so they could send me the correct contacts however I have no backups. I now have to leave work early to get my contacts fixed. Once again, Dr. V is amazing but the office is so bad I know I can find a wonderful eye doctor that also has a great office too. read more

This was my first visit to a retail vision place and I have to say for it being my first experience it was the best experience. The young ladies in the doctor office side were nice and personable. I can not remember their names but they were awesome. They helped me to not be nervous about the eye exam. I was definitely nervous when I came in two weeks ago. Sandy in the eyewear department was exceptional. She is knowledgeable, professional and personable. She made me feel comfortable during the selection of frames and lenses. I will definitely be returning for some additional frames and lenses. I recommend everyone to come to this location! It is truly the best!!! read more

The exam itself was fine, but the fact that they won't give me my pupillary distance after spending $75 on a routine eye exam is a deal breaker for me. The reason they don't do this is because they want to hook you into buying your glasses from their store. And you will not get your PD until you are ready to purchase. Some places have no problem giving up the PD, and these should be the only places you get your eye exam from. They will be the only places I go to from now on. You should have the freedom to shop around and buy glasses from wherever you want to buy glasses from. Whether it's at their place, another place, or even online. Period. read more

I am not commenting on this store but on Pearle Vision products' quality in general. I do not care about customer service or their salesperson's helpfulness when it comes to shopping for glasses. If you need new frames or glasses, the salesperson will not be helpful because they do not know you or your style or your budget; take a friend whose taste you trust and pick your frame with their help. Regarding their lenses, however: I paid for the most expensive option back in Chicago a year ago, because my prescription is super high and because I wear glasses pretty much full time. I paid over 500 dollars (!) for these lenses that are supposed to be lightweight, anti-reflective, anti-scratching, blah blah. They are lightweight, but in less than a year they got so scratched that I CANNOT SEE properly any more - and I am a teacher so my life style is not so rough that I get my glasses unreasonably scratched! They have a warranty so I took them to this store in Buckhead (I moved from Chicago to Atlanta this summer), but they would not even look at the glasses and they said they cannot do anything but of course I am welcome to get new lenses for another 500 dollars!!! had glasses from Costco that I wore for 10 years with no problems. So don't get tricked by their fancy customer service or fancy designer frames. If you think their frames are so great, get it there, but do not get the lenses from them, as you will get better quality for much much cheaper elsewhere!!! read more

Although I was there for frames, she made me completely forget about how dreadful and overwhelming it could be. She made my visit very personal and fun filled. She is very knowledgeable about what she does. She also took time to review my insurance with me and go over each line item in detail. Not once did I feel rushed or unattended to. I have been going to this Pearle Vision for about five years. My first doc was Dr Harrold who was excellent. Apparently, Dr Patel took over this practice about 1.5 years ago. He conducted my annual eye exam today along with a multi-focal contact fitting. I have been designing customer experience processes since before that was a term. He was super friendly and professional but he wasn't overbearing or pushy, he gave me my space to look around but was there if I had any questions. After I picked my frames Jasmine helped me set everything up and explained to me all of my prices and broke each down so that I knew exactly what I was paying for. Jasmine and Ali were great. I had glasses that had anti glare coating pealing off. They took in the glasses and had it fixed and ordered new screws for the ones that were getting loose. The glasses were only some 8 months old. So there most have been something the coating got in touch with. Regardless I got great service and they have helped me at this location adjust the glasses on two different occasions. Even though there were some bumps in the road in owning these glasses. I love the design they helped me pick out. I don't think I ever have looked as good in glasses as I do now. If the anti glare holds up I will go back here for my next pair. read more

Rude and scary sales person when you just want a cheap pair of frames. At Pearle Vision on Lenox rd. , they will lie to you on what you need. The doctor is usually the best person to talk to on what kind of lens you need. The sales person is only interested in up-selling. When you hold your position on the most affordable pair of frames and lens they will try to trick you into up-sale. When that does not work they will get angry with you. They said that I was trying to just get the cheap almost free pair. I told them that is true and all that I have been trying to get from the beginning. I had Humana which said I can get one free pair of glasses and a free exam per year. NOT TRUE... With Humana and Pearle, I paid over $200 for cheapest frames and exam.... HORRIBLE experience. The manager said that his sales people get a little aggressive sometimes in helping us get the best pair of glasses. I did not want to spend $600. I just wanted an extra pair to throw into my glovebox for backup. read more

I had a very strange experience with this eye doctor. At first, staff was very helpful and professional. I had admitted to my Pearle Vision doctor during my exam that I had a habit of wearing my past contacts far past their life span, and had never been educated on how bad that is for the eye. She kindly educated me then. However, after going through 4 new trial contact lenses that she recommended (all were uncomfortable to me) I requested that I just be re-fitted back to my old lens that my former eye doctor put me in because I knew these were always comfortable. I agreed that I was now educated on the importance of changing them out as advised, and would change them out every couple of weeks. But she refused to let me go back to the old lens because she "did not trust" me to change them out as instructed. I was treated like a child being punished for disobeying, when I was never aware before of the risks involved and am now very aware and would not risk my own health in that way. I do look young for my age, and believe she may have assumed me to be irresponsible due to my appearance. Whatever her reasoning, it was petty and unprofessional. Rather than offering to see me again and discuss alternatives, she released my prescription (for the uncomfortable trial lenses) and told me to go somewhere else to get fitted for the lenses I wanted. read more
