Went here on a Monday evening to meet some friends. Easy parking as they have a dedicated lot (very handy). They have tons of seating - a combination of outside seating with heaters in the back, some inside seating as well as couple of tables out front. Outside seating with fire pit in middle and stools around was our favorite - perfect for a non-rainy evening in Seattle. We ordered House Margarita, Paloma and a Pilsner. You order at the counter and walk with your drinks - this becomes slightly annoying if you have a big group in front of you (as you will have to wait a long time). The cocktails were tasty (and very reasonably priced) - definitely light on alcohol (ask for a double if you want them strong). You can choose different salsas with chips, they have tons of salsa options - our favorite was the mango pineapple salsa. We ordered Burrito with chicken and an enchilada for dinner. Burrito was big! Decent filling and tons of chicken inside. My friend liked his enchilada. The best part was that 6 drinks + chips and salsa and dinner for 2 came to $85 - I think that is an insane value for a place with such a nice vibe. We've lived in north cap hill (10 min walk away) for the last 6 months and have been trying all the Eastlake restaurants. Liked the vibe of this place! Has a beach shack feel and reminded me of a cross between Taco Del Mar and BW3s. There is a ton of seating both inside and out and a couple large TVs. Strong house marg ($5 on hh) and great tasting happy hour salads and chicken nachos!! Added ceviche to my Caesar and it was fresh and tasty. One of the best caesars I've had! Total after tip was only about $40 (including drinks) and was a good amount of food! Will definitely come back for happy hour with some friends. read more

I was in the Eastlake area for a meeting and wanted to get some lunch so I decided to give this place a try since it was just down the street. You also can't really go wrong with Mexican food. However, this place was just disappointing. It is self service so you bust your own table and get your own drinks which I don't mind. The food on the other hand I did not like. I ordered a burrito which I always give a try, but this one was very bland. I got chicken which tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all and the rice had lots of hard dry grains. There were only like five small pieces of chopped tomato and onions. Chips were practically stale and I didn't even bother getting any salsa because I was just over the food at that point and felt that nothing could save it. My advice: try to avoid this place if you can. There are other Mexican restaurants nearby that are most likely better. read more

The outdoor patio is SWEET. Vibe is great, and the fires are awesome. GOOD FOR A GROUP OF 4-8. Great spot to grab a couple beers and a quick bite, too. Service is also really good and fast! The downside is that the food is just okay. The enchiladas with ranchero sauce are my go-to and they are usually about 4/5. Recently had the shrimp tacos and give them a 3/5. At best. Chips and salsa combos are good but not great. Guacamole is fine, but not great. All in all, the vibe is what would make you wanna come and stay for a couple drinks. Verdict: 3/5. read more

I like this place a lot. It's just on the Eastlake side of Seattle. Very near to my workplace. It's Mexican joint with lots of options for lunch and breakfast. I have being here multiple times and I love their tacos. Ambience is also pretty decent. In summers you can actually sit outside and have your margaritas. Their chicken tacos and tiger prawns tacos is a must try. I have also tried their sandwich I.e Breakfast Torta. I liked that too. Disappointing. I had done my obsessive research into this place and am intrigued by a few items. Have heard good things about their squash tacos and am interested in trying something w jackfruit. BUT when I went, I was in the mood for something steak saladish, and got the burrito bowl w added lettuce. First off, they overcook their beef, it was very tough. Secondly, I hate shredded lettuce. HATE IT. It just makes everything watery and mushy. You can cut it in ribbons or in a variety of ways that are palatable, but should never be shredded in my humble yet perfect opinion; and I definitely think less of places that do (even McDonald's doesn't do that). And i'm just going to come right out and say it, THEIR CHIPS SUCK. Absolutely bland, and I felt like they could have been fresher. They were so terrible, I gave them away. The coconut beverage I had was meh. It was a little too sweet and made me sneezy so there's dairy in it somewhere. It tasted less like coconut milk & more like condensed milk. The bartender said their margaritas are very tart due to the amount of fresh squeezed lime juice, so I might try one of those, maybe a strawberry. They do have a couple of good features: 1) they make guac by hand and it's really good. I'm appalled by how many restaurants use that pre-fab green gunk instead of mashing up real avocados. 2) They have a salsa bar, with a good variety and they're all tasty, BUT I just don't trust ppl to be clean enough to want to share utensils or participate in a buffet kind of situation. (Want someone coughing in your food? Not to mention the stats for ppl who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom is higher than you think. And employees are known to wipe spilled items back into the containers when cleaning). I prefer salsa brought out in side dishes fresh w my order. Another thing to consider is that you're expected to tip for full service, but you order at the counter, and nobody comes to follow up with you. They bring out your order, but there's no waitstaff and you have to bus your own tables (which generally means dirtier tables in my experience). So where's the customer service that we're tipping for? I tip WELL for service, but am peeved when i'm expected to tip and do their job. Yeah... it serves Mexican inspired food but it tastes like they are using the cheapest possible ingredients... or, I suppose, more accurately, it tastes like some white soccer mom was told it's her turn to for Taco Tuesday and she went out and bought items that felt safe and familiar to her. I understand this review probably sounds incredibly harsh but we're on the West coast, there are far to many good restaurants serving food from south of the border to deliver an experience like this... especially when you have such a great alternative across the bridge on 45th street. This was my first time at the eastlake location, I have been to the Fremont location many times for happy hour. Place was pretty busy with the lunch crowd. I ordered the ceviche tostada which was surprisingly very fresh and filling. The fish of the day was rockfish and the portion size was good. Definitely a lighter bite but perfect for lunch. Also took advantage of the $3.50 single margarita (which they had ready for me before I even finished paying!). Friendly service and a great salsa bar! read more

We stumbled into this place one time on our way to Eastlake. I got the tacos. One shrimp, one steak and one chicken. All three were good. Absolutely terrible customer service. I placed an order and walked all the way down there to come pick it up. It was ready speedy and quick so that was cool... I saw that they had really cheap margaritas so I got excited because I do have a headache today. I decided that I would eat the food there and I asked if I could order one. The man asked for ID. Mind you like I said I just walked ftom the house I was gonna be real quick wasn't planning on getting a margarita. Also, I have my MAST permit I am a bartender and on the mast permit test, and in the law code that the mast permit is based off of it says if a patron is obviously over the legal age you are allowed to serve them without checking ID. I'm obviously a grown woman with wrinkles. But every business in Seattle keeps doing this to me and it's really giving either racism or colorism. Because he didn't ask the other guests in there for their IDs right in front of me. I don't know who the two gentlemen were but they were working there Tuesday night at five or 5:30 PM. They were super rude and wouldn't tell me their names. I definitely will never come here again because it's over priced anyway. It's obviously run by white people not even Mexicans. Almost every single restaurant has given me a terrible experience that I've never experienced in all my 30 years of life. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years and I've never been asked for ID so many times then before I moved here to Seattle. I don't love the pay, sit, and self-bus model, but I was happy to see that their water isn't in a stale stinky poorly washed jug--it's fresh out of a dispenser so I won't dock any stars for it. The inside is huge with lots of seating areas and outdoor seating areas with fire place. They have a to go menus as well as a dine in. For Mexican food, this was really good. I got the Baja Avocado Caesar and the Chicken Tortilla Soup, which also came with chips, and I was extremely pleased with not only the portion size, but how delicious both items were. Just came up too short in almost every aspect, and didn't really impress on any level beyond the friendliness of the staff. First of all, the model is self service, where you order at a counter and clear your own food. So, you pay similar to a full service restaurant, but just without that kind of service. The salsa bar has the smallest little paper "pill" cups that you can't even fit a chip into to dip. The salsa itself was Ok but nothing super wow, and I prefer not to get my salsa on a buffet handled by many anyway. Water cups and silverware seemed mismatched and like they came from a garage sale. The atmosphere was also kind of dark like a bar, and not very festive. This all may have been ok if the food was great, but it really wasnt. I was told the tortilla soup had white meat chicken, but it was the smallest chunks or more like flakes or chips of mystery chicken like the size you would see in canned soup. It was also mostly dark meat and pretty unappetizing. We had some other items, but nothing stood out well enough to inspire any consideration of a return trip. They had parking, but the lot was jammed and the spaces weren't even suitable for small cars, as we were so crammed in. We ate, but weren't very thrilled with the overall experience. After the third visit, I can no longer wait to give my review. Chicken nachos, incredible. They have so many toppings you can barely tell that the dish is actually nachos! I love that they put jalapenos on there and the cheeses are perfect. There was so much going on I needed more chips!! I have had my fair share of nachos and these are one of the best ones in Seattle. Get a fork. Next, I ordered the ceviche. The server (who is so nice and helpful) gave me the choice of trying all three types, how could I turn that down? All were super yummy however the star of the show was the "house" ceviche. Side note, it would be better shared between two people because it is a LOT of ceviche. On Monday I came back and this time I made it by 6:00 PM for their HH prices which made me so happy! I got the half cesar salad on recommendation from the server, it was perfect. I also ordered nachos (without adding meat) and I must note that this is the same size as the full price menu, HUGE! Love this place! I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is decent and local is close. But after 3 visits I just can't anymore... The burrito would be decent for 5 bucks, but it starts at 11. I'd say its on par with Taco del Mar... The chips have been stale all 3 trips. And the house margaritas are... to be polite... the worst thing I've ever tasted. Even for $4. The $10 Scratch Margarita isn't much better. I know Seattle isn't known for Mexican, but they're not even trying. read more

This place is okay...I guess. The squash quesadilla was pretty good for the first couple of bites but after that it was just terrible. Found several bits of squash skins that had been overlooked, leading to a very bitter and disappointing bite each time it happened. I definitely wouldn't order another squash item. The house margarita was very "meh." Easily one of the worst margaritas I've ever had...though it's super cheap and you get what you pay for! It was real close to undrinkable and I absolutely wouldn't have another one. The service was the best part of the experience. Place is garbage as far as the wait staff is concerned. Food is ok. Usually cold by the time you get it. Ive never had a good experience at this location. The one in Fremont is great! The food tastes really good. Its just cold everytime. The wait staff treats you like you punched their lil sister if you even say "good evening" to them. This literally happened to me tonight. Told me I was being aggressive towards him. I was sober and being polite. Asked me if I was ok like 4 times as I was confused by his reaction. We got delivery from Uber Eats, the service was fine , however the delivery person suffered from a problem I've encountered a surprising number of times . The apparent inability to recognize a screen door and how they function. They open out bunky if you put the delivery right in front of the door I cannot open it without risking sending for a tumble down the stairs. It's a perplexing conundrum. Back to the review. Ordered the carne asada street tacos, nice little tacos, good tender meat. The chicken taquitos were very tasty with an addictive crunch. The pork pozole was excellent very thick and rich. The guacamole was very mediocre. The packing was a bit slapdash and the soup lid wasn't fully closed. A bit leaked out but the only casualty were the napkins. So here is a serviceable joint for some good casual Mexican food. Sometimes that's all I need to be happy. read more

Ordered and sat out on the patio, service at the front was excellent, as we were ordering the guy working informed us of the size of some of the items which was great.
