Waited a long time for our food. Red beans were too salty and the fried shrimp didn't taste that great. Asked for ranch when ordered and didn't get it. Asked waitress for the ranch and never got it. Called order in as we were passing through heading home to Texas. The shrimp poboys were stuffed with plenty of shrimp on a fresh soft, original French bread. Onions rings were homemade and breaded perfectly with plenty to share in the order. We also shared the potato salad which was mustard base, the way we love and make our own. I was craving a shrimp PO-boy while in Slidell and this place had pretty decent reviews. I will give you my positive first: the portion sizes were large. Unfortunately that is about it. The shrimp PO-boy was average at best (I'm not a fan of hard bread on PO-boys). The fries were steak fries and were like cafeteria tasting. I ordered a side of hushpuppies that were serve cold. The ice maker at the drink machine was out of ice. And the girl that took my ordered seemed to want to be somewhere else. Price? A 10" shrimp PO-boy with fries, side of hushpuppies and a drink was $29 with tip. 99.9% sure that will be my last trip to this establishment. read more

We took our tour guides word and tried the place that he recommended and was on our way to the hotel anyways. The crawfish price was very reasonable ($4.49/ LB) but we weren't expecting it to be so cold and the was hardly any seasoning, which is the reason you eat crawfish. We ordered sides because we knew the crawfish wouldn't fill us up and that took an extra 15 minutes to come out (FOR JUST THE SMALL GUMBO AND SMALL FRIES). We've never had authentic louisiana gumbo but I didn't expect the gumbo to be so SLIMY. Lastly, the fries were so bland we had to season them ourselves. read more

We were looking for a good seafood restaurant the other night and decided to try this place based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. Entering the place threw us off a little at first. You go to a counter to order your food and pay for it before sitting at a table if you can find one with the crowd they had. We ordered the crab kickers, a fried shrimp platter and a Black and Gold po-boy (a hamburger on po-boy bread with roast beef debris on it). The food came out quickly and, to our surprise, in the correct order. We really expected it to come out all at the same time. The crab kickers (essentially small crab cakes shaped in a ball) were really good and there were plenty of them. I am not a crab fan myself but I ate at least 3 of them. My sandwich was so large that I could not finish it which was a shape because it was very good. There was so much shrimp on the shrimp platter we had enough for another meal the next day. Usually on these platters they load it up with French fries and cover that with a few shrimp to make it look like a lot. Not at Peck's. It was the opposite. A lot of shrimp covering a good amount of fries. We will be going back to this place when we travel to Slidell again. read more

This is like a fast-food version of Southside. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Prices are a little more expensive than Southside, but some of the plates are HUGE! Overall, not bad. The Tuna wrap is pretty good, but you still can't beat the shrimp/oyster po-boy at Southside. I saw someone had the shrimp salad..it looked delicious!! Visiting my aunt who likes to come here and order to go. You walk in, order at the counter and sit and have your food delivered. We arrived a little late (I think they close at 9 and we got there at 8) and they were out of boiled crawfish and a coupla other things so I ordered the fried catfish. The catfish came and I didn't think I would be able to eat all of it. It was delicious and I ate every bit of it. Crunchy outside and perfectly done on the inside. I have never eaten catfish this yummy and I will forever measure all future fried catfish by this experience. Otherwise, the restaurant is not fancy and the ambiance is kind of corny, but the kitchen is apparently serious about its food. I would return every time I visit. read more

We eat here every chance we get! I am in love with the gumbo. It's the best I've ever had. I've also had their seafood platter that was enough to feed 4 people! The batter was very flavorful and the seafood was fried just right. The boiled crabs are also a must have. If you have room left for dessert, the bread pudding is phenomenal! read more

The food was good but very COLD! The service was terrible. I was excited for my husband to try this place. We ordered a platter and onion rings. I was told it would take 15-20 min. After 15 minutes I went inside, paid ($39) and waited. Every time the door swung open I could see two large half open plates. I finally, after 10 minutes of waiting, ask the cashier to check my order, everyone else had their order and was gone. The order I had be looking bar for 10 minutes was mine!!! The onion rings were great very cold . I ask for hot ones then change my mind because my husband had a meeting to attend 2 hours away. The food was descent but cold and there is no excuse for bad service. If I could see to large half open plate with a ticket on them then surely they saw it. Because the plates were half open my food got cold even quicker and who wants cold fish, shrimp, oyster and fries. I can't even eat my $8 onion rings. I'm so disappointed and I never complain but I could not turn a blind eye to this. I hope this gets to management as a training opportunity. read more

I have been a fan of Pecks for years. I have lots of out-of-town guest and I always bring them to Pecks for an awesome Poboy. Today I picked up a order that I called in and on my way out I decided I wanted an ice tea to go. She told me the ice tea was $3.10.I think that's a little outrageous. The sandwiches are priced a little high but they are definitely excellent quality. When I got in my car I took a sip of the tea and it tasted like chlorine. I should've brought it back in but I didn't. I will go back to Pecks but there are some sandwiches however I will bring my own drink. read more

If you're looking for a seafood restaurant in Louisiana i would say that Peck's Seafood restaurant is by far the best and amazingly perPECK seafood restaurant I've ever been to. We initially ordered 2lbs of boiled crawfish and was gone less than 5mins bec it was way too good, ended up ordering another 2lbs. Fried Catfish, shrimp was also good. Just try the imPeckable thingy it has all the variety of delicious seafoods all in one plate. Also, warm brownies and caramel pudding dessert is a must! This place was incredible. I had the half and half poboy - shrimp and oysters. This item isn't on the menu, but you can ask for it. The shrimp were fried perfectly. They were not over cooked and were well seasoned. The oysters were the best I had in quite a while. They were golden fried, but still tender on the inside. Nothing in the preparation over shadowed the seafood itself. Finally, the bread was fantastic. Soft, but form enough to hold it all together. First time visiting Pecks and ordered the seafood platter. Restaurant: The restaurant was clean and very casual. Very nice decor for south Louisiana. Men's restroom was clean and well stocked. Service: counter service for placing your order. The young lady that took our order was pleasant and friendly. The platter was made to order and did not take very long to be brought to the table. The food was abundant. The platter was enough food easily for two with left overs. The fry batter was very mild, which could be appreciated by those do not care for heavily seasoned dishes. I was slightly disappointed with the oysters as they were overcooked. However, the shrimp fish and fries were very tasty. Nice local restaurant for a quick bite looking forward to stopping in again to try something different. read more
