    Long Island

If i could give it 0 stars I would. I was visiting SD from Atlanta and decided to make a stop at Pecs for a drink after a day at the park. As soon as my partner and I came in, the vibes from the bar tender were off. We proceed to order 2 long islands for us and paid. A gnat flew into my drink and I told the bartender and he was immediately visibly upset about it. I asked if he could remake my drink and he said 'I mean yeah but is that an actual bug?' Which was clearly sitting at the bottom of the drink. He takes the drinks and asks other people sitting at the bar if they could see a bug and he's making smart remakes the whole time. Now he's really upset and he toses the drink out and starts slamming things when fixing my second drink. The whole time throwing a tantrum like a little brat. Once my drink is ready he puts it in front of me and hands me a paper coaster and tells me to put it on top of my drink because he's not making me another if a bug gets in it. Miss Trevor was nothing but rude, mean and miserable. I heard someone call him Trevor. I am never coming back to this establishment. He's clearly a racist as my partner and I are men of color and there's no other reason as we weren't rude or demanding towards him. I demand this place do better if you do want to include black and brown in your rainbow flags.

Such a chill and laidback bar to hang out at. This was one of two bars we visited while we were in San Diego for a night. Lot's a handsome men of different shapes and sizes. I had generally hangout in the back area, I found the music to be a little bit more of my style (EDM). I would love to come back the next time I am here.

Worst bar ever and the guy at the front door has no customer service he is rude and doesn't care about no one but him

Fun and friendly staff! Clean, fun and safe environment. Drinks are good and the eye candy is even better! I have been going to Pecs for 17 yrs now.

Ask the Community - Pecs Bar

What is the nearest hotel/motel to you establishment.?

The Lafayette and the Berkshire are close by.

Do gay black men visit your establishment much? Much going on now?

Is dur anything on Tuesday or Wednesday night?

I would also have to say that the diversity at Pecs exceeds otherSD bars. Always welcoming.

    Is this a leather bar?

It's whatever you want it to be.

What I truly appreciate is how inclusive it is; when they say "all are welcome," they genuinely mean it. You feel like part of the community the moment you step through the door, no matter who you are. The folks working behind the bar are absolute superstars. They're not just great at mixing up a delicious drink, but they're also super friendly and always up for a bit of banter. It's the kind of place where striking up a conversation with someone new at the bar is effortless. There's a constant buzz of friendly chatter and laughter, making it such a wonderful place to just relax and be yourself. And let's talk about value - they truly know how to pour a proper drink, and their prices are incredibly fair. You definitely get a fantastic drink without feeling like you've splurged. Situated on 5th Avenue in beautiful Hillcrest, The Loft is a small, but mighty place that is near and dear to my heart for a variety of reasons. From the bartenders, to the patrons, and of course the drinks...this spot is an absolute vibe! Everyone is beyond welcoming and fun here. The space is a great combination of indoor/outdoor. The drinks are strong and well priced, which is not a combination you can find many places these days! They don't serve food, but they are fine if you want to bring your own, which many folks do. We have enjoyed a cocktail and UberEats'd something so we didn't have to leave. Overall, while I am not a San Diego local (yet), I consider The Loft my local spot. Love this place!

I think the event itself was organized well, but the event on the patron side was not. Everyone was just kind of shoving themselves in wherever they wanted, ticket or no. I also asked if I could use a seat for ADA, since I can't stand for longer then 10 minutes. Which they did provide, but it was at the back of the bar where everyone else was already sitting... I felt like an after thought. Which I get maybe it was chaotic, but the bar itself needs to have ADA in mind. There are some interesting people here, a really wide spread group. Some are nice, some are rude and so clueless I was stood directly in front of or hit by 3 different people while in my "ADA " seat. The floors were sticky from the moment we walked in. But at least it seemed cleaned otherwise. Staff at the bar itself were very nice!! The restrooms were ADA Accessible for sure. I have also been here for karaoke and another drag show. Karaoke is a rough one, I will never go back. Seems to cater to only a few. Drinks are good and just what I want. Overall I will have to stick with my usual haunts and start passing on this bar more often, which sucks, but it is clearly not the place for me.

The decor is absolutely stunning. They have a cute flamingo neon lamp at every table when you're ready to order, you just turn it on! It's a great touch. Our host was Strawberry Corncakes and she was hilarious! She was very engaging and shared a lot of funny stories about herself that kept the crowd laughing. This felt like cashless event, so have your Venmo ready to tip the host. My friends arrived 15 minutes early, but the server didn't mention the 4-6 PM Happy Hour; when we asked at 6:00, we were told we'd missed it and the next one wasn't until 8:00. We ordered right at 6:00 PM, but food didn't hit the table until 6:45 PM. The room seemed understaffed with what seems like only one waitress and one server. Once it arrived, the food was actually very good. Our favorites were definitely the devil eggs of the month: Spam Musubi Deviled Eggs and the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. They advertised a $5 "Pussy Punch" special, but we were charged the full $7 on the bill. It's a small discrepancy, but it felt a little dishonest. Also, note that a 22% gratuity was automatically added for our party of six. Overall, I love the aesthetic and the talent, but I'm not sure if I'd come back specifically for bingo.

There were plenty of seats available, and service was quick and smooth. Cocktails were around $15-18 each. I also tried the Piña Colada, which was equally delicious. Even though the cocktails are beautifully handcrafted and easy to sip, you can still taste the liquor, which I always appreciate. This is such a great spot for a first date, a girls' night out, or simply catching up with friends. One of my favorite parts was exploring the vinyl room, it adds such a fun retro touch.
