Before I start this review, I have to tell you that the one guy you need to talk to here is Beni. He is the "real boss" and you'll see what I mean if you interact with the man. This is the best bike shop in the valley. If you need to go on a mission to a bike shop, take your mission here. The mechanics are great. They never disappointed me. The owners are awesome and cool. They mean well, but you'd do much better taking your bike somewhere else. Tried this place twice and both times had to walk out because the gauge their prices. Local shops are sometimes 50% less than these guys. I give them two stars because they at least were nice about their ridiculous prices. FYI- I went to another 4.5 star shop nearby and got the work done for 60% less than these guys quoted... Look around, there's better out there. read more

I really enjoyed the fact that many different options were laid out and the salesman took his time to put a package together based on my needs. Took my bike in for service, needed some simple adjustments, the thing I didn't like about this place is how they don't have a Service Price List like Cycle World, making you feel they just make prices up off the top of there head.. Guys are knowledgeable and friendly but there prices are up top, I thought $20 for adding stan's sealant to my tubeless tire was a bit steep apart from everything else... Also they don't carry Specialized bikes or parts. But overall I would recommend them. read more

I've gone to quite a share of bike shops in the valley and gotta say this is by far the best one, specially when in regards to customer service. Price wise, is very reasonable, but where it really excels is on personnel attentiveness, no only by understanding the most miniscule detail of your request but by going beyond their call to achieve it, making sure you walk out of there a really satisfied customer. Even when bike or parts terminology is not your strength(mine of course being rusty) they oversimplify it to make sure they understand while at the same time helping you learn it. I've been a regular at this shop for awhile they used to have a store in San Fernando and then it closed and then came here many times for tune ups tires pumps a lot of stuff. My last tune up I paid for the more expensive tune up I think it was like $115 I even paid to have the handle bars wrapped. I told him there was a noise and that the chain might be bad and to let me know cuz I was doing a race to make sure everything was great or to call me and let me know of any replacement parts. He finished the bike I went on my race the bike makes noise, the quality of work was terrible. I probably won't be back, it's just not the same as they used to be. read more

Shady business practices. My husband wanted a bike specifically for using a back seat for our son. He bought a bike (left it there so they could tune it up for him and returned 3 days later) and the first time using it got a flat tire. On top of that there were a myriad of other issues - bad breaks, loose seat, gears not changing properly. Took it back and changed the tire for a fee, but supposedly took care of the other issues no charge. Again he had to wait a couple of days. Took it back home and on the second ride another flat same tire. Took it back and the guy said the tires are not appropriate for carrying around a child. Well, shouldn't that have been mentioned when he first bought the bike or when he took it in. He bought the bike TO CARRY A CHILD! Ugh. So he had to BUY new tires that will supposedly be able to support a child (btw my husband is of average weight (fit) and he is carrying a 3 year old) I'm sure he will be bringing it back after the third ride. read more

Was taking my friend to buy her first bike shop bike. I had had two horrible customer experiences in the valley at other bike shops this day. So we headed to Pedalers West because I haven't been there in a while and they have a Starbucks, Chipotle and Pizza rev next door. We walked in, got greeted quickly. We looked at bikes. Even though it was buys sales people made sure they knew they saw us and would be with us quickly. We got our help within a few minutes and picked our bike. It was an easy experience. I felt we got a fair price compared to others I've seen that day and It was just darn easy. We were riding our bikes that day. Made our Sunday Great. My friend did 15 miles Sunday and I think she is hooked. read more

We have been planning to buy a bike from Santa for our daughter there for a few months. When we went in there before, they told us we should bring in her in to make sure we get the right sized bike. We did just that on Tuesday and since it was from Santa we had to take her out of the store and come back later (which we told them). They said they would hold the bike but didn't ask for a deposit or our phone number or say "better come back by X". I thought this was suspicious but we got busy and planned to return in the next day or 2. Well, today is Thursday and we went to get the bike and of course it's gone. I just called and gave them a piece of my mind. Their response was to shrug their shoulders and say "what can we do? It's been 2 days." What could they do?! All they had to do when we were in there was to say they needed a deposit or taken our phone number (seriously, they gave us a tag for our daughter to put in her letter to Santa so he knew exactly which one she wanted - does that sound like we are going to flake?) We have purchased there before and planned to make more purchases because they are local. Well not even a bike helmet now. No one disappoints my daughter. Hope they enjoyed that $315 because they won't get any more from us. Hey! Looks like my husband just found the bike somewhere else. THEY will be getting all of our business from now on. read more

I was stuck walking my bike due to a rear tire that gave out on me 4 miles from home. I just happened to walk by Pedalers West and took a chance that they would help me out, even though it was 20 minutes before they were supposed to close. They could not have been any nicer or more helpful! Not only did they change out the tire and the tube, but they replaced it with a heavier duty tube (due to my 12.5 mile daily commute) and a tire that was less knobby to give me a smoother ride. They also greased the chain and sent me on my way in about 15 minutes. My bike rides way better than it did before! These guys are great! I'm planning on doing some modifications to the bike, like changing out the handlebars, so I definitely plan on coming back. read more

My wife n I purchased two bikes, a Giant mountain by n a Trek All-Tetrain. We paid cash. We were given a free one time service. No time frame was given or noted on the receipt. We are occasional riders, not daily or weekends warriors. So after two years of occasional use, my wife's bike seat started to spin and my derailer started to slip. We took them in for servicing. Much to our dismay, we were told that the free service no longer applied. The tech stated that it was only good for a year from date of purchase n that we needed to speak to the manager. The manager was on a delivery, so we waited about 40 minutes for him to return. Well, once again, he refused to honor the free service because apparently it was only good for 6 mo after purchase, not a year. So, which one is it, a year or 6 mo? Not that it mattered, we purchased them two years prior. By the way, the manager could benefit from a little customer service training. He came across as arrogant with a take it or leave it attitude. We opted to take our service to another repair shop. Unfortunately, the tech at the shop attempted to remove my wife's bike seat and broke the aluminum frame in the process. He stated that it was that way when we dropped it off. It was not! The only thing wrong with it at the time we dropped it off was a loose clamp that simply needed tightening. Since we had just finished our bike ride n the shop was on the way home we decided to take it in to be tightened. A simple tightening turned into a broken frame. If I could give this place a zero rating I would. If you decide to purchase from this place, make sure that any warranty or servicing agreements are in writing n take photos of your bike before leaving it there. We will certainly not be going back. We took both bikes to Paul, at Atomic Bicycles, who adjusted my derailer for $5.00 n fixed my wife's seat with a new stem for only $35, within 40 minutes. read more

I had my bike that I had purchased online shipped to them for assembly. They did a great job and were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They answered my many questions in regards to operating my bike, did many final adjustments once I had arrived in person and even went with me into their parking lot to make sure that I felt completely comfortable operating my bike's many features. Called pedlars west and asked to get a tune up they stated first come first server bring it in. Loaded up my bike and took it in waited about 10 minutes to get help. Guy finally helped me and said again first come first serve and would have to leave my bike there for a week. WTF! I asked do you do reservations he said no have to leave for one week. I ride almost everyday and can't. Not sure who the manager is here as to not do reservations and bring in when ready think you are loosing business. Came here to inquire about having my bike tuned up. The person with whom I spoke to didn't seem friendly. It took him about 10minutes to get to me. Even though there were not any other persons in the shop. I had various questions on what services to the bike is included in this tune up. It was not a great description, but my bike needs a tune up so I figured this man must of had a bad day. So I'll give them a chance. I came another day with my bike to get a tune up and I was greeted by some fellows who seem bothered that I brought my bike for service. They were not friendly and I was put off by their demeanor. It didn't take me long for me to ask for my bike back. I was so put off. I mean, I'm about to pay 85 for a tune up. At the least treat me kindly. I can take it some where else. I would not recommend this bike shop, I'm surprised that with people like such working here, that this shop is still open for business. So walked in about 5 pm I said hi and the guy just looked at me not even a hi back I guess he was too busy with his shop its not hard to say hi to a customer. Im all about good customer service. So I said can you help me and the guy was just not even trying to sell me a bike not even trying to explain the difference between the two models of bike Like I know how to tell what the difference between a 700 dollor bike from here or a 60 dolor bike from wallmart (btw I know how to tell im just using that as an example). I called Friday evening (3/11/22) at 5:15pm. I was informed that if I brought my bike in quickly, I could have a tune up performed and my bike returned Saturday evening (3/12/22) by close (5pm). When I brought my bike in, a few minutes later, I was told Sunday evening (I opted for a clean as well). I was thinking it's not a big deal, it's just a day later and I could use the rest. Saturday comes and goes. Sunday comes and goes. MONDAY comes and goes. I call TUESDAY MORNING (11:59) to check on the status of my bike, and they hadn't even started on it. Realistically, this would have been fine if they had kept me updated, but there was absolutely no communication. I received a call TUESDAY AFTERNOON (2:20pm) that my bike was ready. This was no doubt, only because I called. When I arrived they were busy, as can be expected during these times. Then an employee became available and asked me if I was here to pick up my bike. I acknowledged that I was there to do just that, and he started walking to the back. He then saw another customer (I'm fairly certain he perceived him to be of better status), and he immediately left me and the idea of retrieving my bike to go assist the other man. Finally after looking at my tired face after walking multiple laps around the showroom, I was approached and asked by another employee if I was there to pick up a bike. I once again acknowledged that I was. Then the original employee hastily returned to hurry the second one off and approached me. I was informed that while "cleaning my bike" they DENTED THE FRAME. It's a Specialized, so I take a certain amount of pride in my bike. I can assure you that it wasn't cleaned either. I was looking at multiple spills and stains on my frame. After coldly stating that they they were not good stewards of my property, lying to me about the time on multiple occasions, negatively profiling me, and boldly returning a dented frame on my bike back to me, they had the AUDACITY to charge me full price. At the end, they did seem to fix a gearing issue that I had with the tune up. My bike felt as though it rode better. They did not clean it. They lied. They degraded my property. If you simply need the work performed, go to them. If you care about your bike, your money, your time, or being treated fairly, this is not the place for you. Pay more elsewhere, and you will be glad you did. read more

I don't give 5 star reviews. But after leaving Pedalers West tonight I had simply no choice. It started with my initial call fielded by David who was kind, professional and very knowledgeable. He encouraged me to come in and bring my bike in to have it looked at since it was dirty and needed a tune-up and cleaning. When I arrived I was so excited to see how clean and beautiful the shop was. I was greeted warmly by three different members of the team and once Hector started in on my bike I knew I had made a great decision. He took his time, assessed the issues with my bike and told me each step of what he was going to do. I was stunned to find that the price of what he was going to do for service was half of what another bike shop on Ventura was going to charge me. As a result, I decided to get a new seat as well as new clip-in pedals which I had been avoiding for months. All in with labor (which was a minimal charge) I made out with the exact total of what "that other shop" was going to charge me for a complete overhaul which I didn't need! When I came back later that evening to pick up my bike (same day service!), I struck up a conversation with Jeremy, one of the best sales guys I've met in any field, and my comfort level with Pedalers West grew exponentially from there. I had long been considering selling my vintage road bike and when Jeremy and David and I started talking about it, they gave me some insight as to what my De Rosa might be worth on the open market and also took pictures of it for devoted customers of theirs who might be interested in purchasing it. Who does that? Jeremy and I then started looking at new comparable bikes and he identified one in my price range that we both agreed would be perfect for me. I can confidently say that when/if I do sell this bike, that I will promptly take the cash back to Pedalers West and buy that sweet new Giant. I have always had that sinking feeling in my stomach when walking into other bike shops, but Pedalers West is nothing like the competition. I will never set foot in another Valley bike shop for any of my biking needs. Leaving my highest recommendation here for David, Hector, Jeremy and the crew at Pedalers West.
