I was worried the coconut might overpower the matcha but it didn't. According to their website it looks like their matcha is from Junbi. Visited a couple of times while I was living in Philly, from what I remember their banh mi were also pretty good. Pretty good place to study/work as well, they have two large table, a handful of small tables, and a bar section. On my recent visit in July 2026 it looks like they limit their wifi to 2 hours on the weekends and 4 hours on weekdays (sad to see since I don't remember this being a thing a couple years ago, but makes sense because they seem to be a lot busier now).

We're visiting from out of town and I can be very picky with coffee (No Starbucks please). I can tell their coffee beans were good or at least roasted with the right flavor! I was ordering ice decaf latte with oat milk and the consistency of the decaf was really great that it tastes like a real one. I would definitely comeback on my next visit to Philly... hopefully I'll get to secure some sitting outdoor

Things can get pretty packed in here-- so many people were chatting it up that the only space I got was one of the chairs in the adjacent building lobby, but with the lobby they do have a considerable amount of space for cafe guests. Folks were a bit less friendly today, but also they were under duress because of the load of post-lunch coffee orders, so no fault to them at this time of day. I haven't had any other extreme experiences at Rival Bros locations, so not going to dock anything for that. Wi-fi is solid, both Rival Bros and the next door apartment's lobby wi-fi!

They have lots of coffee, but I can't speak to it as I've only had coffee here twice, long ago. Soup-wise, they usually have at least three types ready to go. Choose your preference, pick a size, and pick a side (bread or Utz chips). I usually get soup to go, and chips (because Utz). They're open early (6:30am), but soup's isn't ready until 8am. Soup flavors rotate. If you see them, my favorites are their shrimp and corn chowder, and their Thai soup. There are multiple Passero's, but I've only been to this one. (Been coming here since 2023!) Friendly service every time I'm here. Credit cards accepted.

Not friendly to drivers needing to park. I managed to get a break when a utility truck pulled out from the curb right in front of the shop, right as I was swore a rash vow to move onto a coffee shop with better parking. Shop overall is small, but does have some good counter seating, stools with no backs, outlets, and solid wi-fi. Did some reading and working throughout the morning, and saw all of the usual suspects come through: a fire crew, fitness moms with their newborn babies, the local elderly couple just here for black coffee, etc. Seems like a good trickle, but never supremely busy (pun intended) at any given time. Smooth jazz on the speakers today also made working pretty sweet! Staff don't seem the friendliest but not outright rude, but they were professional and prompt. Good enough for me! As for the coffee, it was solid, but nothing that I'd go out of my way for. Just had a latte with regular milk, and it was a good compliment to working. Overall, given the difficulty of access, I'm probably not going out of my way to stop by. But for a good cup of coffee if I'm in the area, happy to revisit.
