Wow where to start. Was told by some locals to go to Pedros. We saw this Don Pedros and assumed it was the one we were told. All I can say is, the place was sticky and dirty. The beer was warm, they had no wine, we ordered fish tacos and carnitas. The fish tacos were for sure frozen and one of them wasn't even cooked through. My carnitas had a weird flavor that we couldn't identify. Neither of us finished. Both of us ended up getting sick. Make sure you go to Pedro's not Don Pedro's. This placed had signs up saying " Short staffed, please be patient" so we went in expecting a slower than normal service. We were seated quick but service to get drinks was slow. We order drinks, appetizers and food all at once because we had ample time look over everything. We ordered margaritas. The one thing that keep me from putting 5 was the fact that I got my margarita that I had add coconut flavor to, I couldn't taste any alcohol at all. I have had my fair share of drink to be able to taste if it has any or not. It was a top shelf tequila that was suppose to be there but I tasted none. They did fix this. Be careful with the menu, it is misleading. Two of us ordered the "build your own burrito". The menu lists all the options for building your burrito, but doesn't say that you have to pay for each item in addition to the $10 for the burrito. When the bill comes you find out that you were charged $2.50 for cheese on the burrito, $2.00 for shredded cheese, .50 for lettuce, etc. We were charged an additional fee for every single selection we made for the build your own burrito. This is dishonest and after I spoke with the waiter, he wouldn't make it right. He simply confirmed that they charge extra for every item you select to build your burrito, even though it doesn't say this on the menu. I enjoyed the food, but this ruined the whole experience. This is the worst Mexican food I've ever had. (I've eaten a lot of Mexican) The chips aren't warmed at all, salsa is like watered down ketchup. You eat with plastic utensils and drinks are in plastic. The prices are high for a picnic. Lol ..The place is beautiful, but terrible food. Our waiter got both orders confused and then tried to blame us, instead of owning up to his mistake, which all 3 of us heard the order. Very bland food - I had the speedy Gonzalez , which consisted of 1 hard taco - 1 beef enchilada - beans and rice . It all depends on what you order and the server you get. I like the Tacos a la carte, the queso, and the guacamole. Their rice is good, but I don't like their refried beans. So, I was not expecting much when my family went to Don Pedro's. It was Taco Tuesday night the first good sign. Drink specials where fair. So taco's it was. We started out with cheese dip which was spicy and we all loved it, check. This was followed by chicken, pork and steak taco's two of each for the table. All were really good but steak was the best. A re-order of more tacos, wine and other adult beverages. If you do taco night, order a side of sour cream, extra but worth it. The service was slow and understaffed but that was OK. I really want this place to do well. Try it and pray for real "New York" Chinese food in Destin some time soon. read more

Can't imagine eating Mexican with so much good seafood to eat but you can only eat so much seafood. We came here because of the high rates reviews. My wife is from TX and we are there several times a year. We are both very particular about our Mexican food. Especially Tex-Mex. The first test is the salsa. This place has roasted salsa. Very good and it has a small bite. My wife and I both ordered tipical Mexican tacos with the fresh cilantro in corn tortillas. We got chicken, beef and chorizo. They were great but the sausage was best. Great guacamole and great salsa picosa. Highly recommend this place. If we had one near home we would be there a bunch. read more

Decided to come here based on Yelp reviews while staying in Destin for vacation. Located in a strip mall and when we got there no one in the restaurant. About 5pm. Lots of construction in the area and outside of the main Destin area. But it was worth the drive and the traffic. Chips and salsa were delicious and plentiful. Guacamole was excellent. Steak Fajita taco salad was awesome. My chicken chimichanga was really good. Rice and beans mediocre but we're from Texas so we're used to something a little different. Okay, I really want to give them 5 stars for the food but service gets only one star and that comes down to only 3 stars. If you are up for a very very good Mexican food in Destin area, this is definitely a place that will not disappoint you. But if you are looking for a dining experience then you might be up for a disappointment, especially going on a date kind of event is not a good idea. You will not impress anyone with your choice of restaurant. I have all praises for their food quality and taste. It was good and in comparison to other very good mexican restaurants I have been to but nothing extraordinary. I would still recommend it. Just dont expect any attention from the servers. We were never asked if our food was ok (and they got my order wrong), our card sat on the table ready to pay and go for so long while being ignored, my plate had guacamole all over the side which got on my shirt (from being put on top of my husband's plate while carrying to the table, I had no guacamole), and just general slowness! My husband & I went here last night because he has been wanting real authentic Mexican food. So, we found this place on Yelp & decided to go here for a early dinner at 5pm. My husband ordered the chicken burrito supreme & I ordered the shrimp burrito. It was so yummy & fulfilling. And it was not overpriced like most of the places here in Destin.
